Hello everyone! Welcome back to a new chapter (also known as the first part of the final battle). I hope I can live up to any expectations that you guys have for this, and enjoy the violence.

"Open fire!" Shadow ordered, and the two hedgehogs sent a barrage of bullets hurtling towards the unsuspecting guards.
Five guards went down before the others realized what was going on and grabbed cover. Shadow took aim at a guard hiding behind a pillar and waited for them to take aim at him before shooting the soldier in the chest, killing him. A grenade skipped across the floor and landed next to the Ultimate Life Form, but Shadow grabbed it and threw it back before it could detonate. The dark hedgehog quickly reloaded his assault rifle and continued to lay down fire at the other soldiers.
"All units, respond! Intruders have stolen a vehicle from the main hanger and are escaping on the east side of the facility! Target and eliminate! All units, there are also two intruders in the main hall of the west wing! Eliminate them!" A voice on the loudspeaker in the hallway crackled.
"Looks like the distraction worked!" Silver exclaimed. "Amy, Tails, Blaze and I are coming after you guys! We'll be there in about a minute!"
"The sooner the better!" Tails crackled. "Amy! Go right! Watch out for that truck!"
"I'm trying! This is stressful!" The pink hedgehog whined.
"HOW DO YOU THINK WE FEEL?" Knuckles roared. "Rouge! Get down!"
"Blizzard? Sonic? Come in!" Blaze crackled, but no response came.
Mute continued to spray down the guards while Shadow attempted to find out what was going on outside. All of this was interrupted though, when a guard threw a flash bang and it exploded by the two heroes, making their vision go white and their hearing go bad.
"I can't see anything! Keep firing!" Shadow ordered, and Mute obeyed.
*With Sonic and Blizzard, ten minutes later, outside of the council member hall*
"Alright, we're here," Blizzard said.
"Ok. Let's do this!" Sonic exclaimed, walking up to the door, but the icy cat pulled him back.
"Oh no, no, no. We have to enter there awesomely. We have to fling open those doors and storm in with power!" Blizzard stated, wagging his finger in front of the Blue Blur's face.
Sonic rolled his eyes and tapped his earpiece. "Alright guys, we're in position."
After a few minutes of silence, the blue hedgehog tried again, but still nothing.
"Your signal is jammed. My handiwork," A voice said from above, and a girl around their age in a hood and rags jumped down from below. "You work for the council members, don't you?"
"Uh, no? We're here to stop them. Well, actually, we're here to—"
The Fastest Thing Alive clapped his hand over Blizzard's mouth, cutting him off. "Why do you wanna know?"
"Hmph? Mmm hmm hm mph!" The icy cat mumbled with the hand still over his mouth.
The girl had white and light brown rags all over her body with a long, dark hood on her head that trailed down her back. She had a ragged old cloth, used as a mask, over her face with a large white X traveling from one corner of the cloth to the other. Two pistols were latched onto a belt on her chest, and a large sword was on her back. A few grenades were hanging from her hip and a combat knife was sheathed on her right thigh.
"Anyone who works for the council members will die," The figure stated.
"Oh, well in that case, we don't work for the members!" Sonic replied, lowering his hand from Blizzard's mouth.
"I don't believe you. You look like you work for them," The girl hissed. "Now, you die."
The attacker drew her two pistols and opened fire on the two heroes.
*With Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, and Freeze, real time*
The heroes raced through the open area with guards in MG trucks chasing after them, firing rounds at the truck. The whole area that the team was going through had turned into a battleground. Trucks and tanks were out in the open, firing and bombing the tiny truck. Explosions rocked the ground and created craters in the snow while bullets whizzed through the air. Bullets had ripped into the metal exterior of the car and the windows had been shot out, making it hard to see with the snow pelting Amy and Tails' faces.
"Go right!" Tails ordered, and Amy yanked the wheel in that direction, dodging a tank that was heading towards them.
"SILVER! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?" Knuckles roared. "WE'RE GETTING SHOT AT OUT HERE!"
"The storm picked up! We're having a little bit of a difficult time finding you guys!" Blaze replied.
"Go left! Go!" Tails ordered, and Amy steered around a large crater in the ground.
"Where am I going?" Amy whined. "I've lost sight of the factory!"
Rouge picked up the detonator that had been knocked out of her hands during a sharp turn and flipped the switch. Suddenly, about a sixth of the vehicles and tanks exploded in flames, smoke billowing up in the air.
"Really? A sixth of them? That's all?" Rouge spat.
"Right! Right!" Tails cried, and the truck lurched to the right.
Tanks started igniting in flames and being lifted into the air. Silver and Blaze started to decimate the vehicles with ease while the heroes continued to zip through the battleground. The telekinetic hedgehog hovered in the air as he whipped the combat vehicles around, slamming them into one another and dropping them to the ground. Blaze took position below Silver, shooting fireballs and wisps of flames at cars and soldiers around her, incinerating all.
"Finally!" Knuckles exclaimed.
"We're running low on ammunition," Shadow said through the intercom. "They're slowly overpowering us. We need—TANK! MUTE! RPG!"
*With Mute*
The tank crushed the wall that was once at the end of the hall and the large armored war machine rolled towards the two heroes. Mute grabbed an RPG an shot it down the long metal barrel of the tank, creating an explosion inside the barrel and ceasing the it's movement.
"I'm out of ammo for assault rifles! You got any?" Shadow asked, and Mute shook his head no. "Well, what do ya have?"
Mute loaded up a sub-machine gun for himself and kicked a pistol over to the Ultimate Life Form along with two grenades. He nodded as if to say, "There ya go."
"When will you guys get here? We need you to pick us up!" Shadow ordered. "We're getting overrun!"
"Can't you run out of there? You're fast!" Tails replied.
"Mute can't! Get us out now, fox!" Shadow seethed.
The two fired a couple of shots at the oncoming soldiers and ducked back down again. The area that they were in was now in ruins; rubble littered the ground and the ceiling looked like it was about to collapse at any minute. Bodies of soldiers and a blown up tank were strung about the hall, and statues were smashed to pieces.
Mute turned to Shadow and motioned for him to go.
"You sure you'll be fine?" The dark hedgehog asked.
Mute nodded and motioned again.
"You make it out alive, or I swear I'll kill you," The Ultimate Life Form grumbled before opening the doors and running out into the snow storm.
It was now Mute against the rest of the army, with few weapons, low ammo, and the soldiers were closing in fast.
Aw, crud. Let's do it, The grey hedgehog thought.
*With Sonic and Blizzard, twelve minutes earlier*
The two heroes leaped for cover as the bullets slammed into the walls where Sonic and Blizzard used to be. Sonic zipped around the corner and started to bombard the assailant with punches and kicks, but the girl was just as fast as Sonic, blocking every punch thrown until she swiped his feet out from under him and readied her pistol. She put one gun away and took aim at the Blue Blur.
"Nice try," The girl cooed. "Not fast enough for me. I have revenge on my side."
Just then, the girl's gun froze in her hand, making it impossible for her to pull the trigger. Sonic barrel rolled to his left and stood up to face the enemy. Blizzard came around the corner with his hands glowing of white and smiled.
"You've been put on ice," The cat joked.
"Will you STOP with the bad puns?" Sonic said, grinning. "They're not COOL at all!"
"Ahhhh! I see what you did there!" Blizzard cheered, pointing at the blue hedgehog.
The assailant roared and grabbed her sword from her back with her remaining hand. She prepared to strike again, but her other hand froze up as well.
"No, no, no! Not today!" The icy cat exclaimed, getting in the girl's face. "You lose!"
*Five minutes later*
"So, who are you, hm?" Sonic asked. "Why'd you attack us? We're trying to stop these council members and get back to our dimension!"
The girl's eyes widened. "So YOU are the one who is trying to get back to his dimension? You and your friends? I've heard about you. Forgive me if I didn't recognize you, but I've never seen you before."
"What about me?" Blizzard asked.
"I know that you are a pawn for the members. You've worked for them for years," The assailant spat.
"Yeah, but now I'm a good guy! I'm one of the heroes!" The cat responded, putting his arm around Sonic. "Me and this guy! Amigos!"
Sonic nodded in addition to Blizzard's comment. "So, who are you?"
"Just someone trying to get back at the council members for killing someone I cared for," The girl replied. "Help me defeat the members, and you'll know more."
After a minute of consideration, the icy cat made up his mind.
"Yep, I trust her!" Blizzard cheered, freeing the attacker's hands. "So, you have to go down and help our friends get to the large dimension portal so we can make this plan work."
"How will I know who your friends are?" The girl asked.
"Well, they're not like any species from this dimension, and they're being shot at by guards and tanks, so they should be pretty easy to find," The cat finished. "Now go! Save the world!"
The girl shook her head before running off to join the fight.
"You ready for this?" Sonic asked.
"Oh, I was BORN ready!" Blizzard exclaimed, hopping up and down.
The cat stormed ahead of the hedgehog and flung open the doors to the council members' room.
"COUNCIL MEMBERS!" The icy cat boomed. "PREP—AAAHHH!"
Blizzard was cut off when the doors swung back towards him, smashing into his face and sending him backwards. The cat landed back at Sonic's feet and the doors closed once again. After a few seconds of silence, roars of laughter came from the closed room.
"Good for nothing, egotistical…" Blizzard grumbled.
"Let's try this again, but let me do the intro," Sonic said, walking up to the door.
