The pair arrived home as the sun began to set behind the hokage faces. They walked hand in hand through the village toward their home, with kagome holding the small sleeping neko in her free arm. Kiba pulled the young girl closer as they walked.
"Kagome," he started, "what do you think of marriage?"
"What about it?" she asked
"Well, we are mated, right? Bound for life?"
"Yes, I suppose youre right."
"Why don't we marry? Make it official and stuff." He stopped walking and faced his mate.
"Kagome, will you marry me?" Kiba knelt down and pulled a ring from his jacket pocket. "i-I did a substitution while you were using the bathroom and went to buy a ring. I wanted it to be a surprise…" he trailed off, blushing madly.
"Kiba, I don't know what to say…" kagome said quietly, looking at the ring. It was a silver band, as she never cared much for gold. The inlays were in the shape of a pawprint, with an onyx foot-pad, and cyan blue toes to match her fur and eyes. On the inside, it was engraved. It read 'Kagome Inuzuka- Demon Shinobi'.
The demon ninjas eyes welled with tears as she hugged Kiba tightly.
"Yes," she wept, "I will marry you."
Kiba returned her hug and held her tightly in that spot. When the two finally parted, he slipped the ring on her finger. Kiba picked his mate up bridal-style and carried her home quickly, eager to give his adopted sun his new partner.
