Long time no post i know but everytime i tried to type this chapter my computer would crash but here it is now, better late than never! and to prevent total failure this is kinda a condensed version of what i origianly had in mind enjoy
Everyone sat in the square the next day Shara was gambling with Race while the other boys made fun of Race. "I win again!" Shara cried "You owe me two bits." race handed over the money grudgingly. "Com'on sis!" Shara laughed "hey, you won once..." Blink laughed "Yeah, outta fif'teen" suddenly dave showed up...with someone behind him. Shara climbed the statue. It was Jack. "What's da scab doin' heah" one of the boys muttered. "What da ya want scab?" Race asked. He took a swing "You know we trusted you" he swung again and missed "ya t'ink we didn't need ya?" another swing another miss "Race..." Jack started "ya gave us hope only to leave us!" swing. miss "Race, stop." Race swung "Guess we ain't that important to ya" "Anthony Stop" Shara beged "I WAS FRAMED!" Jack yelled. everyone froze. "What?" Race asked "Yeah. they was gonna put ya all in da refuge. That's why i left." Jack explained. "but i have a plan but i need your help." He explained that the boys needed to meet him at the newstands tomorrow morning. it was all a buzz at the lodging house.
The next day the boys and Shara arived just in time to get the freshly made papes Jack, Dave and Deton made. and they went around giving them out. Finaly they met in the square. "No ones commin'" Jack said "There ain't nobody but us." Race piped in "Don't give u hope jack" he said then a small voice said: "When the circulation bell starts ringin' will we hear it?" Race laughed "Nah, What if da Delancy's come out swingin' will we heah it?"
"NO!" Les yelled "atta boy" Suddenly the square was filled with people! and in the midst of it all Jack went inside the world building. "What's he doin?" race asked. The boys all waited anxiously. "Blink." Shara started. "Yeah...Pack Rat?" he laughed "What if it don' woik out?" she asked. Blink hugged her "It'll woik out just you watch" Just then Jack came out "WE BEAT 'EM!" he shouted. the crowds all cheered. but suddenly a jail cart pulled up. Jack made a break for it but Denton stopped him. "What are ya doin'? Let 'im go!" Race cried "No you don't have to run anymore" Denton told Jack. "Not from the likes of him anyway" Soon enough every boy in the cart climbed out and last but not least came Crutchy. "Crutchy!" everyone started. Then they watched as Snyder was locked into the cart, and they listened as Crutchy told jack a story. "You know!" he cried "Him! Teddy Roosevelt!" the whole group stared in amazment "That's Roosevelt?" Race asked Shara laughed. Blink hardly aid attention to anything, so much was going on, at least until he heard Jack say "You think he could take me to the train yards?" Why would Jack want to go to the train yards? he wondered. He watched as he drove away. He admitted he was sad to see Jack leave...Everyone got in line to buy some papers. "A hundred papes" Dave said The boys all cheered. and then a wagon drove up. It was Jack! they all gathered around welcoming him. "Blink." Shara asked taping him on the shoulder, he turned around and before he knew what was happening She was kissing him! and he was kissing her back! Although things had gone back to normal, Blink knew in that moment nothing would ever be the same.
