Amelia woke up in the Hufflepuff Common Room. Blinking sleepy eyes she looked around to see Lily cuddled with James, and Peter sprawled on the ground. She guessed that Remus and the Prewitt twins had managed to stagger back to the Griffyndor Tower. She closed her eyes ready to slip back into sleep as she cuddled down into her pillow when she realized that it wasn't a pillow. She was laying in the lap of Sirius Black. She felt his hand on her head as if he had been stroking her hair before he fell asleep, while his other arm was resting on her side. She racked her brain trying to figure out if something else had happened. But she couldn't think of anything. Then again she had never drank that much before. Maybe she should ask Lily.
However she knew that this was bad. She couldn't get close to Black, she was already risking it being good friends with Lily. She also knew that Black wanted to be an auror, and once they graduated from Hogwarts, they would be enemies. They would try to kill one another. She sat up slowly, gently removing his hand from her tangle of curls. She slowly lowered his arm to his lap before she stood up.
She gave him one last glance. He was a gorgeous man, his shaggy dark hair sprawed along in the pillows a strong jawline topped with a perfectly sculpted nose and a nice mouth. She almost felt as if she was looking at the statue of David. She brushed his hair from his face before turning and walking down to the Hufflepuff dorms.
Sirius Black awoke in the Hufflepuff Common Room to the sound of Lily Evans calling James a pervert. He sighed and closed his eyes again praying that the day when they relieved all their sexual tension and just fucked would come sooner rather than later.
His mind wandered back to the night before, he had never seen Amelia so drunk and he had to say that he mildly enjoyed it. Especially with how flirty she became. Then again she had always had an infectious personality, considering how quickly people took a liking to her, he understood why. They almost kissed, his lips a breath away from hers before she sighed and pulled away saying that it was too complicated. He had cupped her cheek in his hand forcing her to look at him. "How?" he asked softly.
"Just trust me." she had whispered back, her eyes told him that there was so much more that she wanted to say, but there was something holding her back. She looked at him with a weak smile. "Can I lay down?"
Sirius moved over to allow her to sprawl out on the couch, but to his surprise she laid her head on his lap, "Is this okay?" she asked sleepily.
Sirius found himself smiling down at the beauty in his lap before he began to stroke her curls, "Always." he whispered.
He looked over at James and Lily who were in the midst of arguing about something or another while Peter sighed and stood up himself. "Will you two shut up and have sex already?" he demanded as if reading Sirius's mind. "I am hung over as shit and the last thing I need is to wake up to you two having another sexually deprived quarrel."
Sirius snickered. James's smirked and Lily sent Sirius a death glare.
She huffed and turned away "I am going to go see if Amelia is awake. With that said she stormed down the hallway and vanished in the shadows of the Hufflepuff underground tunnels.
James smiled wickedly at Sirius. "So what's with you and Malfoy?" he asked.
Sirius ran a hand through his hair, "I have no idea."
James chuckled "How does it feel having to work for a girl instead of having her throw herself in your arms?"
Sirius sighed and held his throbbing head in his hands, he was hung over as shit. "Sucks, mate."
"Have you two shagged?" James asked.
Sirius looked at him from between his fingers. "What do you think?" he demanded sarcastically, thinking back to the one kiss that the two had shared.
"Just that one kiss, huh?" James asked.
Sirius nodded his head. "Last night all she just said that she couldn't do anything, that it was too complicated."
"Well she is a bloody Malfoy." James pointed out.
"That doesn't stop her from being friends with Evans, or anyone honestly. She doesn't give a damn about blood status. Her being sorted into Hufflepuff is almost as bad as me being sorted into Griffyndor."
James nodded. "Come on, let's get out of here.
Sirius stood up and found himself casting a longing glance towards the Hufflepuff tunnels before following his best friend. James draped his arm over Sirius's shoulders in a brotherly manner as the two of them walked back to the Griffindor Tower.
Amelia couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face as she stepped into the crisp November air for her early morning run. She began her run at a leisurely pace, her breath coming out in small puffs before her as she ran though the grounds of Hogwarts and along the boarders of the Forbidden Forest. She looked longingly at the forest, hoping that she could catch a glimpse of a creature that she had always wanted to see. And yet she knew the risks that came with stepping foot into the forest. Hagrid had told her about the creatures that lived there, as well as the ones that he had released, which were far more than she believed. However, when she saw the crumpled form laying on the ground about twenty yards within the forest, all thoughts of danger and rule breaking left her mind as she ran to the figure. Right before she approached, a huge black dog blocked her path, large white canines bared.
She stopped in her tracks and quickly averted her eyes from the dog's. "Your owner, he looks hurt. Please let me see him." she asked.
The hackles on the dog's back were raised.
"I mean no harm. I just want to see if he is alright." she said softly. She jumped when she heard another noise. A stag appeared from the undergrowth, it froze as if shocked to see her.
"A friend of yours?" she asked the still snarling dog.
The dog snorted as if laughing at her.
"What's so funny?" she demanded.
The dog gave her a glance as if to say You, you idiot human.
She once again tried to get past the snarling dog, or at least look over him at the crumpled figure. All she could see was sandy brown hair and a scarred if not slightly too thin looking body.
The dog let out another growl before a rather large rat scampered up to him and started chittering furiously. Amelia took this chance in which the dog and the mouse seemed to be in a conversation to sneak past the animals towards the figure. "Hello?" she asked as she rolled the figure around onto their back so that she could look at their face.
The figure on the ground let out a loud groan as she rolled him over. "Remus?" Amelia cried out.
The sound of leaves crunching at a rapid pace caused Amelia to turn to see the stag racing towards her and Lupin. Without thinking she covered his body with hers as if to shield them both from being impaled by the stag's impress set of antlers. That was when the dog barked and the stag skidded to a stop.
"What is with you animals?" she demanded half to herself and half to them.
Remus let out another groan. "Remus, what happened?" she asked.
"Amelia?" he croaked.
"Yeah it's me. Let's get you out of here." she said softly.
"How did you? Why are you here?" he demanded.
"Just out for an early morning run and I happened to find you. What happened?" she asked softly as she helped him into a sitting position, allowing him to lean against her.
"Where are the others?" he asked groggily.
"What others?" Amelia asked.
"Padfoot, Prongs, and Wormtail." he sighed.
"You mean your partners in crime? I don't know. I am the only one out here. As far as I know."
A bark echoed through the forest. "Well me and your animal friends here." she said softly giving the dog a close-lipped smile.
Remus let out what sounded to her like a relieved sigh and closed his eyes. "Remus?" Amelia asked.
"Amelia." he replied sleepily.
"Let's get you back to the castle." she said as she bent over and swung one of his arms over her slender shoulder, helping his shaking and she soon realized, nude form up onto his feet. "Where are your clothes?" she asked a blush appearing on her face.
Remus's eyes widened in shock. "Ummm…" he managed to stutter out.
She stopped and looked at him, really looked into his warm honey colored eyes that had purple bags beneath them. His face pale, thin, and scarred. "Remus. What happened?"
The dog behind him barked. And the stag moved in closer, his nose nudging her shoulder. "You want to help?" she asked.
The stag nodded. Amelia smiled and with the help of the magnificent animal, managed to swing Remus onto his back. The rat quickly scurried up the stag's leg and snuggled next to Remus's semi conscious form.
The dog meanwhile nuzzled Amelia's hand, forcing her to look down at him. "Hello, handsome." she greeted.
The dog looked up at her and wagged his tail. "Oh you like that huh?" she asked.
The dog barked in agreement. "You're a vain thing aren't you."
He looked at her reproachfully.
Amelia couldn't help the smile that appeared as she helped the stag keep Remus's now unconscious form on his back. "It's okay, you're going to be okay." she said more to herself than to him when she saw her hands shaking.
Sirius didn't know what to do. Amelia had found Remus. It had been a bad night, they couldn't get Remus to the Shrieking Shack in time and the ended up spending the entire night chasing the werewolf around the Forbidden Forest, fighting to keep both him and themselves safe as they ran through the dark woods.
He looked almost pleadingly at James who despite his form of a stag looked just as worried as he felt. What would Amelia do if she found out? Would she scream and run away in terror? He racked his mind trying to figure out a good excuse as to why Moony was found just within the boarders of the Forbidden Forest surrounded by a ragtag trio of animals. In the nude no less!
But then again, he thought back to his first interaction with her in Care of Magical Creatures, how she was almost seduced by a kelpie because of her love for magical creatures. The kelpie was a XXXX classified beast but she certainly didn't care. In fact she stayed there and helped bandage the thing. Would she feel the same about Remus? He looked up at the blonde haired beauty, she was rubbing soft reassuring circles on Remus's back as they walked slowly towards the castle. He along with the rest of the group stopped when they saw Albus Dumbledore standing outside of the doors.
"Miss Malfoy, I see that you are the unfortunate soul who stumbled upon poor Remus this morning." he said gently as he approached.
"Sir, is he going to be alright?" Amelia asked.
"This is a monthly occurrence, Mr. Lupin should recover quickly. He just needs rest." Dumbledore explained.
"Monthly." Sirius heard Amelia mutter to herself. Inwardly, Sirius shivered. Amelia was smart and along with her obsession with magical creatures odds were she just figured out Remus's furry little problem. He inwardly groaned when she asked the question that he knew she would ask "Sir, Is Remus a werewolf." it was a statement, not a question.
Dumbledore's blue eyes just sparkled the way they usually did when he was proud of his students. He flicked his wand and Remus was lifted from Prog's back. "I believe you know that answer. Now I am going to take Mr. Lupin to see Madame Pomfrey." the old man turned his attention to Sirius and the rest of the marauders, but remained silent before he took Remus and walked inside the castle.
The remaining four students stood outside of the castle for a moment before Amelia broke the silence. "So. How did the three of you figure out how to become animagus?" she asked softly.
All three remaining members of the marauders exchanged weary glances before one by one they transformed back into their true selves. "How did you guess, love?" Sirius asked.
"Well there aren't many groups of stags, rats, and dogs hanging out together. Not to mention I don't think that many animals would work together to protect an unconscious boy in the woods." she explained as she stared wide eyed at the three marauders.
James ran his hands through his messy black hair. "Well there you have it. Please Malfoy, you cannot tell anyone about this." he begged.
Amelia gave the three boys a dazzling smile. "I wouldn't dream of it."
Sirius thought that Amelia's smile was one of the most beautiful smiles he had ever seen. He watched as she turned and walked back towards the castle, blond pony tail bobbing as she walked and the way that her hips swayed slightly. She turned and looked at them over her shoulder before waving slightly.
"You've got it bad, mate." Peter pointed out.
Sirius gave a noncommittal wave of his hand. "Doesn't matter. She says she can't do it." he explained.
"You act like that has stopped you before." James pointed out.
"It's because he has never had a girl turn him down before." Peter said with a smirk as he clapped Sirius on the back and led the other two towards the castle.
"She is interested. She is just scared for some reason. Show her." James encouraged.
Sirius shrugged his shoulders and continued the trek towards the castle.
