A/N: Thanks for reviewing! It means a lot! :D

I do not own Harry Potter and all that blah blah blah. Yes, I'm not J. K. Rowling, unfortunately *sobs*

14. Finally summer

It was the last Potions class before summer. They didn't really do anything. Professor Slughorn had set them to read through some pages when professor McGonagall nocked on the door and asked to talk to him for a minute. Just as the door had closed and they were alone the talking started.

"You will come visit me this summer, right?" Marry asked Lily and Alice.

"Of course!" Lily said smiling while Alice nodded.

"Can I come?" They turned around to see Sirius leaning over his desk, grinning.

Marry batted her eyes and gave him a flirty smile. "Sorry. No boys."

"That seems rather unfair, doesn't it?" James joined their conversation.

"That might be." Marry agreed. "But you're still not allowed to come." Ending the conversation by turning away.

"I don't understand any of this!" They heard Sirius say, referring to the pages they were reading. A snort of laughter could be heard from the other side of the classroom where the Slytherins sat. "Are you laughing at me?"

Sirius picked up a jar with a dark purple powder in it, ready to throw.

"Black! Put that down!" Lily stood up, arms on her hips. "You don't even know what it is."

He looked at the jar, weighing it in his hand before looking at Lily and shrugging. "I know it's heavy." With that he threw the jar across the room as hard as he could. The Slytherins ducked and it hit the wall. It chattered. Dark powder flew everywhere. Coughing, the Slytherins began throwing things back. It evolved to a full on war. Some people had even pulled out their wands.

It was at this moment Slughorn decided to come in again. The classroom was a mess; ingredients everywhere, students hiding under the desks and pointing their wands at each other. No need to say Slughorn was more than a little angry.

When the students had calmed down he waived his wand to clean up the mess. "I can't believe you would do such thing!" he lectured them while the magic did its job. "You are lucky no one got hurt! Throwing ingredients – do you even know what you where throwing at each other? And wands? Honestly, what were you thinking!? I am very disappointed in all of you." He sighed before continuing. "I will have to take fifty points from each of your houses."

"Fifty?" Sirius exclaimed.

"Want to make it sixty, Mr. Black?"

"No, Sir." He muttered.

They all knew some points would be taken, but Slughorn had never been one to take points, only give them. So when he took fifty from each house it was quite the shock. Gryffindor had been so close to winning the House Cup. Unless Ravenclaw messed up really bad, they didn't stand a chance of winning now.

The girls finished the last of their packing before leaving. They got into a carriage and were off to Hogsmeade Station. It was early in the morning but the sun was already up high. It was a beautiful day, and it was a shame they had to spend the day on a train.

"Come on, let's find a compartment before they're all full." Marry said jumping out off the carriage as soon as it stopped.

"I promised I'd sit with Frank." Alice said. Marry raised an eyebrow. "Sorry…"

Marry giggled. "It's okay, Alice. You go find Frank. Lily, you coming?"

Lily was about to answer when she heard someone say her name. She turned around to see no other than James Potter, standing there with a smug smile on his arrogant face. She sighed. Why couldn't he just leave her alone for only a day?

"Ready to go home, Evans?" He asked, still smiling.

"Yes." She answered politely.

"We should totally go out this summer!"

She rolled her eyes. Of course he would ask her out, again. "Absolutely not." She shook her head.

"Evans!" Sirius came running toward them with Peter not far behind.

Lily stopped him with a hand gesture. "No. I'm not talking to you anymore."

"Are Remus doing any Prefect duties or something, cause I can't find him anywhere." He continued as if he hadn't heard her.

"What part of no longer talking to you did he not understand?" Lily asked Marry who simply shrugged in answer.

Peter looked quite confused. He looked at everyone before asking, "Why are you not taking to him?" Lily didn't respond. She was busy continuing her argument with James about why they would not go out this summer.

Marry turned to Peter and Sirius. "You lost us the House Cup! Because of that stupid fight in Potions." She explained.

"Hey! That wasn't my fault!" Sirius said.

"Yes it was!"

"No it wasn't!"

"You were the one starting it!"

"Guys..." Alice interrupted them before their fight turned ugly. Her low voice made Lily and James stop to look at her too. She'd been quiet until now. Now she was smiling and pointed at somewhere near the train. "I found Remus…"

They turned to see where she was pointing. The sight shocked them, or some of them at least.

Remus was snogging Valerie, arms around her waist, bodies pressed against each other. It looked like their lives depended on it. Seeing him snog anyone this passionate was like seeing a troll have an intelligent conversation with a giant. They had never taken Remus for the relationship type of guy. But of course now, they couldn't other than be happy for him.

"What the hell!?" Said Sirius, looking confused but he smiled like a toddler who'd just been promised candy.

"Remus Lupin!" James yelled. Remus turned around and saw his friends come towards him. He blushed and looked rather uncomfortable. "You lying son of a bitch!" James wasn't mad. Remus knew that. But still all he wanted to do was sink into a hole in the ground.

"Hey guys. I can explain… I hope."

Valerie giggled. "I'll write, okay?" she stood at her tiptoes to kiss Remus' cheek. He nodded and she got on the train. Remus looked after her with a smile, that is, until he remembered his friends.

They had stopped in front of him. All of them smiled. 'At least they're not mad.' Remus thought. He didn't meet their eyes, just kept looking at his feet. Lily was the first one to speak.

"Why haven't you told me about this?" She asked, making Remus blush even redder.

"Told you? What about us?" James said pretending to be insulted, but his smile gave it away. "He's a Marauder and he lied to us."

"That was Valerie Peerse, Moony." Sirius pointed at the train.

"The girl you've been studying with. Only studying, remember?" Peter added.

"What exactly did you teach her?" Marry asked jokingly flirtatious. Remus couldn't help but smile at her tone.

"Or rather, what did she teach you?" James winked at Remus. Sirius and Marry laughed but they stopped when he cleared his throat.

He looked at each of them in turn with a pleading look. "Can we not talk about this, now, here?" With that he got on the train, the others following after him.

He found an empty compartment. They all sat down except for Alice who said something about finding Frank. She said goodbye to everyone and promised Lily and Marry to write. When she'd left the boys started bombarding Remus with questions. He gave in after a while and told them about what had happened. How they'd been together for several weeks now. In fact, they'd been together since the night with the search for the map, though he didn't say that. The girls didn't know about it.

He didn't tell them details, no matter how much the girls asked for it. To be honest he didn't know what to tell them. There wasn't much to tell. Valerie was cute and pretty, though she wasn't the smartest. He didn't know whether that was good or bad seeing he had to keep secrets from her, big secrets.

The trip went fast. They spent the time mocking Remus for his new girlfriend, though after a while the subject changed from him and Valerie to James and Lily (to the latter's discontent). Then over to summer plans and then back to Remus again.

When they stepped on to Platform 9 ¾ they split ways.

Marry and Lily hugged. "See you in two weeks?" Marry asked.

"You bet!" Lily said, waving goodbye before saying hello to her mother who stood waiting for her.

"You're both coming this summer, right?" James asked Remus and Peter. They nodded and said goodbye before walking off to meet their parents. Remus to his father, Peter to his mother, and James and Sirius to James' parents.

It seemed to become a good summer.
