7 years later.

"Jay! Come up for lunch!"

Sarah called from the tree line. She sat there, arms crossed smiling, dressed in a sundress, her hair pinned up, and her dark golden tan looking natural and good on her body. Standing in the warm sugar colored sand barefoot, she looked down as Jay and Mary had been swimming. Almost every morning the two children would always spent countless hours after they received three hours of "schooling" as John liked to call it. This was all very basic, but Sarah, as well as the others agreed it should be done. Mary had all ready come to the island knowing how to read, but received her lessons with Jay who was slightly younger. Most of the time it was John who taught them, but sometimes Sarah, as well as Nick and Coffey would take turns. There was reading, writing, a little math, and from Sarah's side history even though John felt it was a waste of time. Jay surprised Sarah by showing how bright he was. From a very early age he had developed early. First with grasping things, sleeping through the night, talking, and walking. She remembered it was just like yesterday when he was just three years old, chubby, with a mop of thick black hair. Always a happy go lucky baby, he constantly filled the island with laughter, energy, and plenty of smiles. She remembered how as a baby he would hide behind her legs, giggling whenever John would play peek-a-boo with him. Grugling, before looking up at her with that wide smile on his full cheeks.

"Mamma...my mamma..."

With that he would bury his face against her leg, still giggling as John smiled before circling around and crawling onto John's lap, pulling at his beard and blowing kisses with his tiny hands at her. It stunned her on how much Rhodes he looked. Still, they remained saying Ted had been the father. She wasn't completely sure why she decided in the end to do this. Rhodes was dead, and couldn't harm them anymore. Still, it was a choice both Billy and John respected. One night when Jay was only two, sleeping soundly with a stuffed dog they had sewed for him in his room, John and Sarah who had became lovers, laid side by side drinking whiskey after some very relaxing love making, before Sarah turned to her friend and asked him if he thought it was wrong that she wasn't going to tell Jay about Rhodes. Sitting there, John nursed his drink and shook his head.

"I see what you're doing Sarah darling. Rhodes was a flawed man, and brought on the fate he deserved. I understand why he was driven insane...but he lost any trace of humanity he had left after I told him about the baby, and he still tried to kill you. There's no excuse and he doesn't deserve the honor of that beautiful boy in that other room thinking of him as his daddy. Teddy deserves that...so Billy and I won't tell. You are doing real good by bringing this boy up, he may look like Rhodes, but he has your heart."

"I couldn't have done this without you two..."

"Nonsense. You're a survivor my love...and you always will be."

With a kiss on the cheek, he put his arm around her as they laid in the darkness, candles lit about listening to the ocean. Sarah had been casual lovers with John off and on for some time now. She loved John, but knew it was more of a friend than anything else. The sex was always good, but they both loved each other too much to make it anything more. Soulmates as friends, they had stood by each other with Billy through it all. They were Jay's father figures, along with the other men, and loved him as if he was their own. Still, even without protection, Sarah never got pregnant. Even when she began sleeping with Lambert, a friendly guy who loved music, and adored Jay. There was never a scare once. Now years later, Sarah knew Jay would be her only child. Still, at this time the whole group of them had become closer than friends, they were family. They had spent years building onto the resort, learning how to fly the chopper, hunting, fishing, planting, and making a future for each other. They raised Jay and Mary together, and had made a tight knit community. They hadn't found anyone else, but made a private paradise for each other. There wasn't any arguing or tension like it had been down in the bunker. There were no problems. They treated each other like equals, and worked things out. Now all these years later, the whole group of them were happy. Gina and Coffey were together, and expecting a baby. Sarah and Lambert were casual lovers, as she had been with John who was currently with Ana. Everyone was fair, decent, and protected each other. This was the way it was supposed to be, even if they weren't certain on how much time they had left. Sarah still had nightmares, but they seemed to becoming less and less with each passing month as she watched her son grow.

Now at age seven, he had hazel eyes, and beautiful thick black hair. He wore swim trunks, his skin deeply tanned to an olive color as he splashed about in the crystal clear sea water of the surf. Mary wore a bathing suit, her dirty blond hair in pigtails as she laughed, splashing him. Turning, Jay smiled up at Sarah, tiny beads of water collecting on his smooth chest and arms. Grinning, he motioned Mary to get out of the water, before hurrying up onto the sand. Reaching her, he laughed, slightly out of breath.

"Hey mom."

Sarah smirked, running her hand through his hair.

"Hey baby, ready for lunch? We cleaned some fruit and Billy is grilling."

"Yeah! Sure! Mary! Come on!"

Mary hurried up the beach, scooping up both of their towels. Both children tanned and beautiful living on the island. Looking up at Sarah, Mary smiled. All ready Sarah could tell in a few years she was going to be come quite the knock-out.

"Hi Sarah!"

"You two ready for lunch?"

"Yeah!"

Smiling, she turned, as the two of them playfuly shoved each other, giggling, and grabbing stones, skipping them as they followed behind her. Smiling, Sarah never honestly felt happier than she did at this exact moment. Her son was a healthy and perfectly happy little boy. He was the darling of everyone on the island, and so happy and full of life. He loved reading, and spent countless hours running, swimming, climbing trees, and making stuff. He was always witty, and loved learning new things. He would listen closely whenever the men showed him how to fish, cut wood, and build things. He had watched Ana and herself with first aid, and instantly had taken a liking to boats. Nick had kept up repairs on his own boat, maintaining the engine, and even had taken Jay out several times to circle around the area. Sarah kept a close eye, but had overheard John, Billy, and Robert talk about trying to make a row boat for Jay's next birthday.

A true island boy, he loved the water, and Mary was his constant playmate. Together the two played hide and go-seek. They ran up and down the back paths, build forts, and had sleepovers making shadow puppets and telling each other stories. Jay roughly had an idea of what the world had been before everything happened, as did Mary since she was so young when everything began. The two were sheltered and Sarah was determined never to allow Jay to truly leave the island and know of the undead and what had ruined the world he had never known to begin with. That night after Jay's bath, he was completely tuckered out after a long day of running and swimming. Falling asleep in his own bed, Sarah looked in on him as he laid back, his eyes closed, and his chest slowly rising and falling. Smiling, she knew there would come a day when he would start to ask who was his real father. At the time, she honestly thought he believed one of the men here was his dad, or even all of them. John hadn't given him the talk yet, and she suspected he was still so young and innocent to truly know what really went on between a man and a woman.

For Sarah that was fine. She wanted to keep her only baby a baby as long as possible.

Before...

"Now relax your shoulders, focus on the target...and pull the trigger." Rhodes said standing behind Alex, a small smile spread across his face. Standing there, focused, Alex aimed, biting her bottom lip as she held onto one of Rhodes' guns. Aiming, she fired, only jumping back slightly at the noise and kick that Rhodes had gotten her used to. For the last hour they were deep in the cave were the old boats and cars had been stored. They were using the area where most of the men used for target practice. Rhodes stood back proudly seeing that Alex had almost hit the target this time. For this being her first time ever firing a weapon, he was pretty stunned on what a fast learner she was. He had explained everything, actually proud that he knew so much about this and was able to show her how to protect herself. Squinting at the target, he grinned before rubbing his chin.

"That's my girl! Look at that!"

Alex laughed before standing back her boots slightly spread on the dirt floor and raised an eyebrow, trying to look sexy as she blew against the barrel of the gun. Instantly the two cracked up as he hooked an arm around her waist and drew her in close, pressing his forehead against hers. Three days later Rhodes had the scare of a lifetime. In these last seventy-two hours Rhodes felt as if life was going at lighting speed. He had honestly never felt happier, and knew everyone was talking behind his back. Still, for the first time ever he didn't care. He no longer focused on being isolated and trapped down here with these idiots. He didn't think of the entire world being overrun by these creatures. No, instead he found himself falling head over heels in love with this mysterious woman, and unable to truly believe that she had chosen him. When he wasn't with her, she was all he could think about. Constantly he day dreamed about her, feeling like a school boy as he spaced out during Cooper's meetings, thinking of her face, her smile, her lips...

The sex had been amazing, in fact Rhodes was surprised they hadn't woken up the entire complex the night before when Alex had slept over. It wasn't official yet, even if that statement even seemed crazy during such madness. Still, he knew the men were smart enough to back off and not say a word. If the scientist and other fools knew, so be it. He didn't care. As long as they didn't bother Alex he was fine. They had gone separate ways when Cooper wanted to call a meeting on the next chopper sweep. He had left Alex in bed, both exhausted from last night's marathon of love making. Frowning as he dressed, he looked down at her and motioned across her breasts.

"Jesus did I do that?"

There were faint teeth marks and bruises from when he had sucked her skin. Glancing down not even the slighest bit surprise she shrugged and laughed.

"Yeah I guess so."

"Gee, I'm sorry...hurts?"

Alex made a face smiling.

"I'm a big girl captain, a few teeth marks aren't going to hurt me as long as they don't come from those things."

Rhodes smirked, shrugging on his jacket before he sat down on the edge of the bed and rubbed her hip from on top of the blanket. Gazing at her, he knew he wanted her again. Biting down on his lip, his eyes showed hunger as he stared at her before stretching out his arm, rolling his sleeve up.

"Wanna give me a little bite, make it even."

Alex laughed before she leaned over, gently pressing her teeth against his forearm, sinking down, and instantly sending lighting bolt of pleasure go through him. Laughing, he knew these same teeth were what worked magic whenever she went down on him. Lifting her head, he saw tiny teeth marks on his tanned skin, nothing that would make any lasting mark. Smiling, he leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"That's all you got Foster?"

"You don't wanna see what I can do with these choppers."

Laughing, Rhodes ruffled her hair.

"I'll see you at lunch okay?"

"Sounds good, I'm gonna sleep in for a bit, then Miller said something about going up top to refuel the chopper, a couple of us are going up."

Instantly Rhodes made a face.

"I don't like you going up top without me."

Alex made a face, rubbing his arm.

"I'll be fine."

Rhodes sighed, knowing how stubborn she could get when she wanted. Alex missed the fresh air and sunshine. Whenever she got a chance she would go up, even if it was just for a few seconds. Rhodes knew Johnson, Steel, and Miller were all going up to also inspect the fences as well. There was a tropical storm coming off the coast and they wanted to make sure the fences held. Cupping her face, he stared at her with serious eyes.

"Just be careful okay?"

"Promise."

Kissing her gently, Rhodes tugged on one of her earlobes.

"See you later kid."

Getting up, Rhodes grabbed his gun and went.

Later...

Rhodes and Cooper walked out of his office. Disgusted, Rhodes had a headache. Cooper yet again was wasting even more time. Annoyed, he simply kept his mouth shut. Walking out, he saw they had missed lunch. Instantly he checked his watch before Rickles strolled on by blowing bubble gum.

"Rickles, you see Alex?" Rickles glanced over and nodded.

"Oh yeah, she's up top with Miller, Johnson and Steel."

Nodding, Rhodes went down the long hallway, before exiting the complex. He needed some time with Alex to get his mind off things. Somehow she had become the only person he could let his guard down and actually be truthful with. In the last few weeks since they started sleeping together. most nights he would sit up afterwards crammed in his bunk with her. Usually he smoked, while she rubbed his chest and listened. He usually didn't like to talk so much, but he needed to vent to someone. He complained to Alex about what a fool he thought Cooper was. Of course he had learned to be faithful, and follow orders no matter what. It was a sign of respect, and he knew his place. Still, when he was alone with just Alex he was able to complain and get things off his chest. He was able to tell her what wasn't working and what was. How annoyed he was getting, and how he honestly believed these scientist were crazy and wasting everyone's time. He knew Alex was friends with them, but usually just laid there listening, letting him talk. Just a few nights ago they had started talking about themselves. Rhodes didn't want to go too much into his life story, only that his parents were drunks and he ran away from home and joined the army at fifteen. Since then the military was his whole life. He talked about how he was originally from Boston, then was stationed in Pittsburgh when everything happened. Alex didn't say much about her family, just that she was from Key West, and witnessed her parents get gunned down. She talked only a little bit about Ryan her boyfriend and how they had met in school. The thing she loved talking about the most was music.

Rhodes had little to no idea of what she was talking about. Still, he was amused when he saw how excited she got. She talked about the contents she went to before all of this happened, what precious her record collection had been before she had to leave town, and how she had inspired to someday start a band with some of her friends. Rhodes wanted to go up top, get a little sun, supervise the men, or at least say he was doing so and sit with Alex for a bit. How badly he wanted to take her someplace safe where the two of them could be outside, not in this God awful depressing cave. Walking to the elevator, he opened the control box and pressed the lowering switch. Instantly the alarm started, as he stood back, hands on his hips waiting for the platform to completely lower. Sunlight poured down, making him squint before strolling on over. Grabbing the hand box, he pressed the button for it to rise, and waited as the platform started upwards. Once he was compltely up top, he looked around. Steel and Johnson were walking back from the fences. Rolled up on one of Steel's massive shoulders was a huge tightly rolled piece of fencing they kept in the supply shed. Johnson had a toolbox, and the two were walking back, the warm hot Florida sun beating down on them. Both saw Rhodes and began walking over. Rhodes look a second, casually looking over at the graves before turning around. Miller was sitting by one of the sheds, in the shade roping off some wire netting himself. Confused, Rhodes looked around again, hands still on his hips.

Once Steel and Johnson approached, Rhodes shot them a look.

"Where is Alex?"

Both men looked around, just as confused.

"She was near Miller a few minutes ago..."

Rhodes turned, and instantly yelled over to Miller.

"MILLER!"

Miller looked up in the middle of his work. Rhodes felt his head starting to pound. The sun was blazing, and instantly a strange little twist went through his stomach.

"Where's Alex?!"

Miller looked around and shrugged.

"She was here a second ago, said she was trying to find a good spot to tan!"

Rhodes eyes franticly searched, scanning from side to side. There was a small hanger with no doors, he could see in perfectly. There were sheds, which were all locked up. He looked around the weed garden the guys had begun growing less than two years ago, along with the gas tanks, and discarded empty canisters, and old military outdoor supplies that was forgotten. Looking, he couldn't find her anywhere. He looked back over at the fence where at least a good seventy or so of the undead were surrounded by the fence, lightly shaking it, and groaning. Even at this distance he could smell the horrible stench of rotting flesh. Looking back, he cupped his hands and shouted.

"ALEX! ALEX!"

He waited. Nothing. Instantly he frowned, waiting before he yelled again, this time nearly screaming at the top of his lungs.

"ALEX!"

Johnson and Steel began yelling her name as well. When there wasn't an answer, instantly Rhodes felt a white hot lighting flash of panic come leaping into the pit of his stomach. His heart hammered as he suddenly thought of what if she had gotten hurt? What if one of those things got inside and got her? Horrible images of her screaming as blood sprayed across her face as one of those puss bags ripped into her. What if she had escaped? What if she really was sick of this place and tired to leave? What if she accidentally climbed the fence to check something out? What if... "ALEX!" He screamed even louder, his entire face becoming flushed. Nothing. Looking at the men, he waved his hand.

"LOOK AROUND! SHE COULD BE HURT!"

Johnson tried saying something, stepping forward when Rhodes whirled around at him like a madman. His eyes wide and crazy.

"YOU IDIOTS WERE SUPPOSED TO WATCH HER! NOW FUCKING LOOK!"

The men took off running in opposite directions, dropping what they were carrying, and grabbing their rifles. Instantly Rhodes started off running, boots pounding the ground. As he ran, a million thoughts raced through his mind. What if she really had left? What if all of this was some big lie and she was just waiting to escape? No, he couldn't believe that. The horrible lurking fear of her hurt made him run even faster, looking round the fenced in area as he faintly heard the men calling her name. That's when he stopped, almost tripping over his own two feet.

There she was.

She was laying on a spread out military blanket. She was wearing shorts, and a black tank top rolled up, revealing her flat stomach. She had headphones on, a walkman of some sort she had found in storage along with some tapes. She had sighed saying the selection wasn't great, but she was happy there was something at all. She as of lately had been walking around listening to the music blasting as she snapped her fingers. Rhodes thought it was adorable, mostly how she would sway her hips, and hum underneath her breath walking down the hallways of the complex. She laid there, sleeping soundly, one arm draped lightly across her eyes, as her chest slowly raised and fell slowly. Her legs were bent slightly, and her skin was turning into a beautiful golden brown. Rhodes stared before his face fell. A horrible shaking feeling of relief swept through him. Something that terrified him. He hated ever feeling scared, he hated ever feeling out of control. Shaking his head he yelled.

"I FOUND HER! SHE'S FINE!"

Steel's voice returned.

"YOU SURE CAPTAIN?"

"YEAH, FINISH UP! WE GO DOWN IN TEN!"

Sighing, he walked the rest of the way before staring down at her. Smirking, he gently nudged her leg with the toe of his boot. Instantly, Alex's arm fell from her face, her eyelids fluttered open as she squinted by the blazing sun. Staring up, she looked still sleepy from the warm sun. Looking at him, she seemed half surprised as she slowly woke up, blinking, she sat up slightly and lowered her headphones. The music playing continued to blast. No wonder she didn't hear them. Frowning, Rhodes lowered his rifle, and climbed down on his knees. Alex smiled.

"What's up?"

Rhodes made a face at the headphones and reaches down, shutting them off.

"You know, you scared me to death...I was screaming your name..."

Instantly Alex frowned, the headphones around her neck.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry...I just drifted off..."

Rhodes reached over, gently cupping her face before plunging his lips right against hers. Eyes widening by the surprise of the kiss, Alex smiled through it before she pulled back.

"Whoa, you okay?"

Rhodes pressed his forehead against hers and sighed, lacing his hand against hers and gently gave it a dull squeeze.

"I don't want you coming up here without me anymore...please?"

Alex stared at him before gently running her hand through his thick black hair. Smirking, she nodded.

"Okay...sorry I scared you."

Rhodes nodded before looking her over. Smiling, he rubbed her arm, her skin smooth and warm.

"You got some color huh?"

"Tired at least...you ready to head back down?"

Getting up, Rhodes leaned down and scooped Alex up. Giggling, she squealed with delight as he laughed and blew a kiss on her neck. Laughing, she playfully kicked feet as he dipped her. Laughing, he spun them around once before setting her down on her feet. Leaning against him, she continued laughing, kissing his neck. Tugging on her headphones, he made a face before helping her pack up. After they reached the platform to join the others, Alex laughed and rolled her eyes apologizing to the men and explained she had her headphones on. Steel laughed playfully shaking her shoulder while Rhodes went back to his regular serious stance. Once they lowered heading down below, the alarms sounding. Anderson was waiting down below and instantly his nervous eyes shifted from side to side as the men slowly unloaded their gear.

Rhodes took hold of Alex's hand, totally unaware of Anderson watching them. Together the two went to the golf cart and waiting until Miller said he was going to unload the rest of the fencing and walk the rest of the way back. Steel got behind the wheel with Johnson by his side. As the cart began to move, both Rhodes and Alex sat in the back. Rhodes out of pure instinct put his arm over her lap to make sure she wouldn't fall off the back of the thing. Alex kept laughing, still amused over how Rhodes was acting. He kept glancing at her, smirking, trying not to let the men see him smile. Once they arrived at the complex, they all entered in together, still a few hours off from their nightly meeting as well as dinner. They headed straight to Rhodes' bunk. Once the door was shut behind them, Alex took her headphones off and unhooked the walkman from the side of her shorts. Tossing it on the chair that usually held Rhodes' folded uniform jacket, she turned, and began to re-tie her ponytail. Rhodes leaned against the door and sighed, he lowered his rifle and put it against the wall before rubbing his chin.

"Sorry about acting like such a freak." Alex who was finishing up her ponytail looked.

"Huh?"

"I'm sorry...just when you didn't answer I started to think..."

"What? I was dead...that I ran away?"

Rhodes smiled, feeling embarrassed.

"Yeah...maybe..."

Alex smiled, and walked over. Placing her hands on his shoulders, she smiled, making him look her straight in the eye.

"I'm a big girl Jim, I survived outside for years...nothing is going to happen. I promise."

Rhodes sighed, looking off to the side before meeting her stare.

"This isn't like me. I feel like an idiot. I...can't stop thinking about you. I just wanna take you someplace where I don't have to deal with these morons and those puss bags outside. If that day ever comes...would you come with me?"

Alex smiled, lightly drumming her fingers against his chest.

"Of course...trust me, I honestly after Ryan...didn't think I would ever fall in love again."

Rhodes smiled, staring at her.

"Love huh?"

Alex playfully hit her arm making Rhodes laugh. Looking at her, he sighed, brushing back part of her fallen hair that had swept across her face.

"I love you Alex..."

"I love you too Jim...and don't worry, there will be a day that we won't be stuck down here anymore. Until then...we'll just have to find ways to pass the time."

Rhodes raised an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah? Doing that?"

Alex's hand slowly snaked down Rhodes' pants, going down and slipping through the slit in his boxers. Within seconds her hand wrapped around his penis, giving it a dull squeeze. Almost instantly Rhodes' eyes widened in complete surprise. Instantly he felt himself go rock hard. Stiffening, he gasped, feeling sweat all ready starting to roll down his face.

"What..."

"Shhhhh...I wanna apologize for scaring you dummy..."

She whispered in his ear playfully. Her hand continued moving up and down, squeezing, before quickening it's pace. Rhodes breathed deeply, shutting his eyes as she continued, smiling and leaning in close to him. All the while, her walkman laid forgotten on the bunk. Later, when they returned to his quarters, she simply picked it up and dropped it with her clothes as she undressed franticly with Rhodes. The walkman would later land up in Dr. Logan's possessions, and be used for his experiment with the zombie who showed intelligence, and was the creature responsible for Rhodes' death.

This zombie was otherwise known was Bub.

Present.

10 years later.

Everyone gathered around the small hill that overlooked the South Beach. The group of them had just finished burying Robert, who passed away peacefully in his sleep. Nick had taken care of Robert, and the burial had been beautiful, and fitting for the man Robert was. Even if there were little ones now thanks to Ana and Gina, they still took the death hard since Robert had been the voice of reason, and served as a father figure to almost all of them. Gina had made a headstone, and John had said a few words while they all stood around, heads lowered. Sarah stood there, her once beautiful chestnut brown hair almost completely gray. In the last seventeen or so years since they begun living on the island, Sarah didn't look like she had even aged a day. There were tiny lines around her eyes and mouth, but otherwise she was still the same beautiful woman she had been all those years ago.

Standing beside her was her son. Jay had grown average height, and was the complete spitting image of Rhodes it actually gave her chills sometimes when she saw him. He had gotten Rhodes' thick black hair, his hazel eyes, and sharp nose. He tanned beautifully, and had been the only reason Sarah suspected she had kept sane all these years. For her, the greatest gift in life was being allowed to be this young man's mother. He was her only child, and had brought nothing but happiness to her. He was smart, enjoying reading, and laughing. Ever since he was just a little boy he was constantly running the beaches he called home. He was always barreling down the steps to their cabin they shared, filling it with noise and good positive energy. He always was the one who wanted to climb trees, swim in the crystal clear ocean, and explore. He was the apple of both John and Billy's eyes, and amazed Sarah at how mature, handsome, and responsible he had become. It stunned her, that he was no longer that chubby baby she cradled in her arms. No, she watched as he grew, and turned into a beautiful young man, who loved everyone, and seemed to have inherited John's peaceful laid back sense of purpose than the bastard who had conceived him. No, he wasn't like Rhodes at all. He was good, and never had one horrible thing to say. He would spend countless hours reading up books of science, nature, weather, and history. He would swim for hours nonstop, making his arms muscular and tanned.

He loved using his hands, and helped chop wood, weave baskets, and hammer in things that needed to be fixed. He would sit out with John for hours at night, laughing, listening and playing music, and hearing John's story of the world before. As much as he loved adventure, he lived in his own world, and besides boating around the surrounding waters, had no desire to ever leave the island. He had never seen any of these creatures, and never questioned what the main land was like. Instead, he was part of their community, and was Sarah's family. He loved his mother, and sometimes Sarah felt such overpowering love for him, she thought it actually be dangerous. Night after night whenever Sarah was unable to sleep, she would sometimes peek into his bedroom. Usually he would be spread out on his bed, just in shorts, sleeping peacefully. Sarah would watch him, and thank God that she had been blessed by him. He was raised believing that his real biological father had been a good man named Ted Fisher.

A scientist who had been hurried to go down to Florida with Sarah. For years John, Billy, and Sarah told Jay this lie. They went on about what a good man Fisher had been. How brilliant he was, and that he had no idea Sarah was pregnant when he died. When Jay asked if they had been in love? Sarah would always smile, deep down inside thinking of that fateful day when she watched that monster murder him, and always say yes...she did love him. Sadly, there just wasn't enough time. Rhodes was never actually mentioned by name, only as the military captain. They didn't go into detail, only that when the bunker had in fact failed, and John, Billy, and Sarah barley escaped with their life's, this horrible man had shot Jay's father. And that was it. Jay didn't ask many questions, but believed his father had been a good man, who had tragically died before he was born. Sarah didn't feel guilty about this lie. Jay was too good of a person to be tainted by that horrible bastard who killed the man who deserved to be remembered. Glancing at him as a breeze went through the air, she saw his thick black bangs lightly dance as he stared down at the burial mound. Sighing, he looked across and met eyes with Mary, who had indeed turned out to be a beautiful young woman. Jay sadly smiled across at her, unaware that his mother was watching. Even if they hadn't said anything, everyone knew the two of them were in love. Both joined by the hip, having grown up together, and now as young adults lovers. It scared Sarah seeing how fast he was growing up, but knew this was just another stepping stone towards the future. In this time Sarah hadn't been lonely.

She had taken lovers, including John and Lambert. Despite the fact they didn't last, they still all loved each other and remained friends.

At this exact moment, all that mattered was her son.

She knew if anything ever happened to him...it would drive her insane.
