Chapter 14
The Abandoned Charmader
Ash, Misty, Shad, Brock, Shingo, and me were walking through the woods hopeless lost, again, when we found the road.
"Yay, hopefully we'll find the pokecenter before dark," Misty said.
"One problem, we don't know what direction to take to go to Cerulean, with our luck we'll end up ba-" Shad was saying
"CHAR."
"What was that?" Everyone else said.
We walked in the direction of the noise and found a Charmander. Ash looked at me before taking out a pokeball, but when he threw it, much to my dismay, it bounced off the Charmander.
"It must belong to someone." I said disappointed, but also happy since Ash didn't get to hog it for himself.
"No, that's not it, if a pokemon is hit with a pokeball but someone already owns it, then a red light will shine around it. Some physic force stopped the ball," Shingo said.
"But then that means it has a trainer."
"Not necessarily, a wild pokemon could've stopped it if it was friends with the Charmander," Brock said.
"OK, well let's just go to the pokecenter," Misty said.
We got to the pokecenter and found a pyramid of pokeballs.
"Yeah, I caught all of these just yesterday, only after I got rid of that weakling Charmander, I mean it couldn't even beat a Rattata."
Ash started to rush at the voice when the pyramid fell down on the kid. Ash stopped and everyone stared as he tried to get them of.
"GET THESE OFF ME! WHOEVER DID THAT IS IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE!"
"What just happened," Shad said.
When the kid finally got out he looked around trying to figure out what happened when he saw Ash and the rest of us.
"So it was you. WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM!"
"Don't scream at me I was standing here when it happened," Ash told him.
"He was running at the table, so I think it was him Damien," One of the kids near the table said.
"Wait just a sec, how could my brother have done that when he was standing right there, the pyramid must have been flawed, just like everything I have seen about Damien," I said trying to defend him.
In the meantime Ash and Damien were basically about to try to kill each other, "How can you just abandon that Charmander like that!"
"Because like I said, it can't even defeat the second weakest pokemon known to man, a Rattata."
"What if that Rattata was just a strong pokemon, it might have been close to evolving."
"Whatever, it should've won."
"Go get that Carmander now, it is still sitting on the rock waiting for you."
"What. . . AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you mean it hasn't realized that it isn't wanted."
"What about if it's you-"
"Shut up and go away."
"WHY YOU LITTLE-"
"ENOUGH!"
Nurse Joy came in and pushed the two away from each other.
"I will have no fight in my pokecenter and if you do then you'll just have to walk to the next one."
"Sorry," Ash said but Damien just walked away like he was a victim or something. Ash came back over to us and said, "What did even happen with the pyramid, did someone accidentally knock the table."
Damien went over to Nurse Joy and asked her something, when she nodded she took him into the back but before closing the door she said, "You six come here."
We walked into the back and Nurse Joy pulled up the security footage from when we walked in. It showed everything to when the pokeballs toppled Damien. Nurse Joy Rewound it to the moment when the pokeballs toppled.
"Do any of you have a strong psychic type?"
"No I'm the only one with anything close to that but it's a Haunter."
"Are any of you psychic?"
"No."
"But that's impossible and either your psychic or you have a psychic type because there is a wave of psychic energy coming from you," Damien said pointing at me.
"Don't even think about pointing your finger at me, it wasn't any of us."
"Um didn't you guys say there have been moments when wierd things happened and you believed it was a psychic pokemon," Shingo asked.
"Uh, yeah."
"Maybe it's following you guys."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, what were these weird things."
"Well it was really only one thing."
"Well what was it."
"Um Link fell from a cliff one time when we were training-" Ash began.
"Oh, God, how are you OK," Nurse Joy said.
"That's the weird part," I started to say, "I made a huge crater in the ground but and passed out, when I woke up nothing hurt at all."
"WHAT! YOU HAVE TO BE LYING BECAUSE THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Damien screamed.
"Uh, I know I'm still amazed by what happened when I think about it."
"Maybe you were dreaming?"
"No we all saw the crater," Misty said.
"It doesn't matter if you think it was a psychic pokemon following you, because here the footage shows that it came from you," Nurse Joy said to me.
"Well if I'm psychic then I didn't know about it."
"Then nobodies in trouble, since you did it without wanting to. You can leave now."
As we left Damien started to complain to nurse joy at how that wasn't fair.
We never went back for the Charmander because we hoped Damien would find it in his heart to go get him. Until it started to rain that is. I was watching him all day and he never made 1 move to even go out the door.
"We have to go get the Charmander. It will die out there alone," Ash said worried.
"No wait 10 minutes to see if Damien makes a move to get him, he's still technically his pokemon," I said. "Wait where's Pikachu?"
"You were on his shoulder so maybe you're the psychic one rat," I heard faintly.
I turned and saw Damien about to kick Pikachu and jumped up, ran over there, and blocked the kick.
"JUST BECAUSE I MAY HAVE TOPPLED THE PYRAMID WITH PSYCHIC POWERS DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU HURT MY POKEMON WHEN WE AREN'T EVEN IN A BATTLE!"
"H-how did you get over hear from across the room so fast?"
"Huh."
"Damien!" Nurse Joy said. "I told you I don't want any violence outside a pokemon battle in hear! Go to the room your staying in or get out!"
"Dang it."
I walked back over with Pikachu on my shoulder. "Come on guys, lets go save that Charmander."
When we founf the Charmander it was holding a leaf above it to sheild it from the rain but was getting attacked by Spearow.
"PIKACHU, THUNDERBOLT!" Me and Ash said at the same time.
The Spearow flew off and we took out a couple of blankets and wrapped Charmander in one. Me and Ash picked him up and Brock held the other blanket to shield the Charmander's tail from the rain.
By the time we got to the center the Charmander's tail was almost out.
"Nurse Joy," Ash, Brock, Misty, Shad, Shingo, and me yelled. "WE NEED HELP."
She came around the corner and gasped "Oh my, let me see it, it's in critical condition."
We waited until she came out. "You got it here just in time it's going to be OK tomorrow."
We all sighed with relief and went to our rooms to get a good nights sleep.
The next morning we left the center since the Charmander was fine. We wanted Nurse Joy to find a good trainer for it or send it to Professor Oak for a new trainer. We were back on track and on the way to Cerulean City.
"I hope the next trainer who get's that Charmander will be good to it, unlike Damien," Ash said.
"We can only hope Ash," I replied.
"Hey Ash, Link, don't wor-AHH," Shingo was saying when we all screamed and fell.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and Love"
"Not these guys again," I said as Jesse said her second part.
"I wish they'll get shoot in the head the next time they say this,' Shad said annoyed.
"HEY WE'RE SAYING OUR MOTTO NOW SO SHUT UP. Eh-hum. To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jesse."
"James."
"Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light."
"Surrender now or prepare to fight."
"Meowth, that's right."
"ENOUGH WITH THAT STUPID MOTTO!" Ryan yelled.
"Shut up Ryan," the other two said. "What a minute is that a Charmander?"
"CHARMANDER GET OUT OF THERE!"
"AHHHHHHHH. We're blasting off again."
"Well now, time to go find the fools who somehow finds a way to 'blast off' from every attack in the world. Sure this time it was a flamethrower but from a Charmander, I bet that they'll 'blast off' from a Magikarp's splash attack," Ryan ranted walking away.
We climbed out of the hole and saw an amazed Damien. But before he could say anything Charmander blasted him with flamethrower and fainted.
"Char."
"D-did you come find us because you wanted to travel with us?" Ash asked.
"Char," Charmander replied nodding.
"Sweet," Ash said pulling out a pokeball, but this time I was ready. I pulled one out my pocket and threw it. This time the Charmander got hit with both pokeballs and split."
After one shake it clicked and we both caught Charmander.
So just to tell you, the part with the footage is just to introduce the idea of psychic powers to Link.
