I sped after them. My cousins have absolutely NO patience. I saw that they had reached a large concrete building that I figured was Laboratory Five. Ed and Al disappeared around the corner. I noticed a gaurd at the main enterance, which was probably why they-Edward- didn't make one of their spontaneous entrances...

~ ~ ~Normal POV ~ ~ ~

Al cupped his hands for Ed to put his foot into. Ed did, and Alphonse began to lift his brother-

"YOU GUYS ARE TOTAL POOPS!" A voice whisper-screamed. Al dropped Ed who slipped and fell to the ground. They spun around and saw glowing blue eyes from a shadowed area.

"J-Julie!" Al stuttered in surprise, and began to sweat nervously.

"Sh!" Julie shushed.

"What are you doing here?!" Ed said in a stage whisper. Julie rolled her eyes.

"Looking for an ice cream truck to buy some ice cream-NO, Ed, I'm actually following two little idiots who sneak out at night." Julie retorted sarcastically.

Edward's face turned red to yell at the "LITTLE idiots" comment but Al clamped a hand over his mouth.

"Uh...I'm sorry, Julie! We...we just wanted to know more about the stone..." Al said. Julie face-palmed.

"Okay, so you HAD to sneak out in the middle of the night without any bodyguards-"

"That's the thing-" Edward growled.

"I love it. Let's go." Julie interrupted and cupped her hands as Ed and Al sweat-dropped. She raised an eyebrow when no one moved.

"What? Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean-" Julie said, then Ed placed his foot in her hands. Julie lifted them, and launched Edward into the air with a grunt. Ed landed gracefully on one of his legs, the automail one, on the barbed wire.

"Wow, You guys are good at this." Julie whistled. Al cupped his hands and followed what Ed did, only she landed less finished cutting the wire and dropped it down for Alphonse to climb up. As Al made his way up the concrete wall, Julie jumped down on the other side. A couple minutes later, her cousins followed suit, and the brothers ran off. They stopped a a boarded up door, and Julie frowned. Edward suddenly pointed to a small vent, just tall enough for Al to lift them up into. Edward crawled in first.

"Wait! Julie, tell All he has to wait outside." Julie nodded and passed the message on.

" You'll be okay?" Al asked, worried.

" Sorry, but its just...that...you're a little too big to fit in here..." Julie answered. Then she and Edward proceeded as Al slumped against the wall.

Ed sighed as he crawled through the musty vent. Julie blinked when she heard a gurgle from Edward's stomach. She looked up right when he farted. And it wasn't just a 'lil toot. It was a full on one.

"WHY?!" Julie cried. She looked up so fast she smashed her head against the metal covering.

Al sweatdropped and sighed as he heard an unmistakable sound of passing gas and screaming.

"I forgot. Brother didn't eat dinner...poor Julie."

Julie twitched as she held her head in pain. Eds' face was red and looked startled.

"S-sorry, I get gassy when I don't eat anything for a while." Edward mumbled. Julie glared at his butt.

"In close quarters, Edward Elric?! WHY?! Why me..." Julie goaned. "What did I do to deserve this?!"

"You followed us here, thats why..." Ed muttered. They continued down the vent, Julie making sure to keep a good distance.

"Dang. It's so tight in here. It's a good thing I'm sm-..." Ed froze. Julie rolled her eyes and face-palmed.

"NOOOOO!I almost called myself small!" he screamed.

Edward kicked the door vent off and landed on the ground. He looked around and face-planted for no reason. Or maybe because Julie landed on top of him.

"JULIE!" Ed yelled at the dark-haired girl.

"What? It's not my fault you took too long to get out of the way. And besides. I was dying for some fresh air." Julie stated matter-of- factly.

Suddenly, they stopped when they heard a loud clang from the vent.

"Your fart is making the metal dissolve." Julie stated with a blank face. Ed had a tick mark on his head.

"Will you SHUT UP about the fart?!" Ed snapped. Then he looked thoughtfully at the vent.

"I hope Al is okay." He said. Julie waved her hand dismissively.

"Eh, he's made of metal, so don't worry." Julie assured him. They turned back to their surroundings.

"Transmutation circle?" Julie observed. There was a large circle in the middle of the room. On the inside of that circle where pillars with arrays on them.

"I bet it's for the Philosopher's Stone." ed concluded.

"Yes, thats right." A voice replied. Julie jumped in surprise. A suit of armor walked out from a shadowed doorway.

"Ew, who is THAT?" Julie said.

"Huh. And who are you, pal?" Edward asked.

"The one in charge of this lace from curious brats." the armor replied.

"BRATS?!" Julie whispered, sounding offended.

"But for now, call me 48." the armor-48-said.

"Sounds like a prison number."Julie stated.

"And believe me, I am not your pal." 48 said.

"Dude, that was just a figure of speech" Julie murmured. Ed whapped her on the back of her head..

"Julie! Stop making little commentary! It's ruining how cool I look!" Ed scolded. Julie rolled her eyes.

"Oh, well, exCUSE ME, your highness. Jeezum. No one cares how you look." Julie retorted.

"What?! Well I do!" Ed fumed.

"Yeah, see-just you, Ed! You're too short. And the fight could've been over by now." Julie said as she raised an eyebrow.

"DID YOU JUST CALL ME SHORT?!" Ed screamed. Suddenly, they heard coughing. 48 pointed his blade at Ed.

"Enough. I believe your fight is with me, not the little girl."

"Little girl?!" Julie snapped. "Uh, hello, but I think this little girl can kick your butt single-handedly." Ed rolled his eyes, but thought, Do I sound like that when I fight?!"

"Mmm. Interesting. It looks like the little girl has some fire in her." 48 mused. Julie flapped her arms up and down.

"This little girl has a NAME, tin can!" she , he disappeared

then reappeared behind the cousins.

"Then let's see what you got." 48 swung his blade at their heads. Ed ducked and jumped a good distance away while Julie somersaulted away. She snapped her fingers and transmuted a sword from the ground (away from the circle). It was a little heavy, but it would do. 48 and Ed clashed swords as Julie swung at the armor's midsection. As he dodged, Edward attacked on the other side. He managed to avoid each assault, but Julie kicked him in the back. A hollow noise rang through his armor. Julie froze and looked at 48.

"You're...hollow?" Ed asked.

"Hmmm, you're quit a perceptive one. Then perhaps I should introduce myself again?" 48 said. Julie and Ed frowned, but nodded.

"48 was the number I was assigned on the death row."

"See?! I knew it was a prison number!" Julie said in a stage whisper, and received a kick in the ankle from Ed.

"Hey!" she snapped. 48 paused. "Sorry. Go on?" Julie said with a fake smile.

"When I had a body, I was known as the Slicer."

"So this lab was used to make stones out of condemned prisoners, huh?" Ed asked.

"That is not my place to tell you. But my skills were recognized and I was placed as a guard dog." 48 replied.

"Interesting. Then you must have a blood seal?" Ed raised his eyebrows. 48 lifted his cloth covering his "mouth" from his "face".

"Destroy this and the fight is yours."

"Oh, nooooo! If the enemy shows his weakness then that means he won't be easy to beat!" Julie wailed. Edward and 48 looked at Julie then turned back.

"Anyways...let's fight." 48 charged at Ed.

Julie stood straight and raised her blade. There were flurries of movement, blades, and attacks. As Ed clashed with the skilled armor, she noticed some plates shift on Ed's arm. She frowned, and grew worried as she noticed her cousin's shocked and worried expression. Slicer took this as an opportunity to aim an attack. Ed pushed himself to focus, but he was too slow. Julie took off and stopped the blade with her own sword. Sparks scattered around as they pressed the blades together. Julie gritted her teeth as she tried to push away. Ed distracted him and tried to attack, but 48 stuck his leg out and kicked Ed away in the chest.

"ED!" Julie shouted as the Slicer moved away from her and brought his sword down, trying to pierce his flesh.

Ed rolled away as climbed to his feet. Julie jumped into the air and aimed her sword at him, but the suit of armor disappeared with its inhuman ( :D ) strength. He appeared by her cousin, but Ed still managed to flip away. As he landed, blood spurted from his shoulder. Julie's eyes widened, but she held herself back from distracting Ed. 48 aadvanced on Ed until he had to stop at a pillar. 48 swung and Ed ducked as a deep gash appeared on the pillar. Ed moved to dodge another assault, and 48's sword sliced inched by Edward's head. Julie gasped and chucked her own sword at the armor. It impaled into the wall next to the Slicer, so close it ripped through his cloth. Julie gave a silent cheer in her head at her aim. Julie quickly transmutted another sword and charged at 48. 48 turned and slashed his sword in a motion to stab down on Ed. Ed gave a weak flip, and stumbled to his bottom as blood gushed from his face. Julie raised her blade, but gave a "WHOA!" as she ducked under 48's sword. Ed was still on the ground, panting, as Julie dodged like crazy. Sweat grew on her brow as she struggled to keep up with the skilled swordsman. Julie stepped back quickly as she felt the sword's cold metal hit her cheek, cut through her skin, then slide back out in one swift swing. She frowned, then flipped back.

"Hm, what cute little monkeys you make." he said.

"Who are you callin' little?" Ed growled in-between pants.

"It's been a while since I've had a play worth hunting..." 48 laughed.

"Looks like you won't last much longer. Right now my partner should be finished off with your companion you left outside."

"Wha...Oh! That's the metal noise we heard from the vent!" Julie pointed out.

"Is this partner of yours strong?" Ed asked.

"Yes. But not as much as I." 48 said. Ed and Julie looked at one another before sharing a grin. Then they started laughing.

"Then I don't need to worry." Ed said with a satisfied smirk. Julie stopped and stared at him.

"We don't?" she asked. Ed gave her a blank look.

"Isn't that the reason you were laughing?" Ed asked.

"Uh...no, I was laughing at how conceited the tin can sounded..." Julie muttered sheepishly. 48 narrowed his glowing eyes as Julie shrugged.

"I've never beaten my partner when we sparred, so I don't need to worry." Ed said with a smug grin.

"Well, then I'll have to hurry up and defeat you so I can take care of him as well." Julie wiped the blood off her cheek. She raised her eyebrow behind the Slicer's back. Ed blinked harder than usual to show he understood. Julie suddenly jumped away from where 48 was standing and gave a look of triumph. 48 looked at her, then noticed Edward's golden eyes move to the door where 48 had came from.

"Go Al! Do it now!" Ed shouted. Slicer turned around quickly.

"What?" Ed used that moment to charge. Julie followed suit, and shoved her blade into his leg to keep him where he was standing as Ed severed his head.

"That was dirty!" 48 growled. Ed smirked as the armor fell to the ground and the helmet bounced across the ground. Ed changed his arm back, Julie let go of the sword.

"What?! Aren't you going to destroy my blood seal?" 48 asked.

"There's something we need to ask you about." Ed said.

"The Philosopher's Stone?" the Slicer asked. Ed nodded.

"Sorry, I can't."

"Hey! But we beat you to your little game, it's only fair if you tell us!" Julie protested.

"That's where you're wrong." slicer said. Julie widened her blue eyes and slowly turned to see the armor part pointing a sword at her. Julie ducked and jumped away at the same time, but the sword still sliced her side, making her gasp. She tripped over her feet and fell to the ground.

"Julie!" Ed yelled. He let go of the helmet, and as he reached Julie, blood suddenly gushed from his stomach. He fell to reveal the armor body with the sword dripping from it.

"I forgot to mention something else about the mass murderer. He had a brother." 48 said. Julie gritted her teeth and yanked herself up to unsteady feet. Ed got up and glared at the armor.

"Round two is about to begin now." the Slicer said.

Ed clapped his hands, but the armor's blade swung at Ed, causing him to step back. Julie panted, and snapped her fingers. She transmutted a sword yet again, but kept it small to lose some weight. She weakly swung it at 48 as he slammed the hilt of his own sword into Ed's side. Ed flew into the air and slammed back down to the ground. Julie clashed with the Slicer, and the pressure from trying to keep the blade away made more blood come out from her wound. Her cut on her cheek had blood running down. She started to panic. They were going to die. Julie slipped, but as she fell back, 48's sword didn't hit her. the body turned the blade downwards and prepared to plunge it down when his armor blew up. Metal cracked and rained everywhere. Julie opened her eyes and saw Ed's trembling form behind the combusted armor, his arm out. The Slicer fell to the ground, finally at his end. His arms were still moving,

but his legs were completely gone.

"Brother..." The Armor dropped his arms in a manner of defeat.

"As much as I hate to admit it, we've lost. Come on, boy, destroy us." Ed frowned.

"No. I'm not a murderer." The helmet began laughing, surprising Ed and Julie.

"Um...Brother?" the body asked, confused as well.

"My brother and I have been committing crimes ever since we can remember. But now, as we are in metal bodies, we are treated like humans for the first time." the helmet explained. Julie frowned. She studied the helmet.

"For that I will give you a parting gift. I will tell you everything. Who makes the stones. Who made us guard this pla-" Julie tensed. Sharp black spikes shot through 48's blood seal.

"My, what a close call." a sickly sweet voice resounded through the room. The nails retracted and returned to it's owner, along with the helmet. Envy and Lust appeared. Julie gave a sharp gasp and stumbled away from them.

"It's-It's you guys! The one...who was chasing me that day!" Julie cried out. Ed had never seen his cousin look so frightened. Envy chuckled.

"Looks like little soldier girl's got some fire in her." he said. Julie flinched at that comment, reminding her of her parents.

"Yes, darling, its is us. Problem?" Lust sighed in her usual bored tone.

"Well, would ya look at that? It's the Fullmetal pipsqueak too." Julie trembled as Ed stared at them. Lust shifted her fingers in a way that the helmet was cut in half.

"Brother! Brother! Bro-" A sword plunged down through the body's blood seal, shocking Julie. Evny stood over it with an evil grin.

"Who are you people?! What are you talking about?!" Ed demanded, his voice sounded strained, like his heart was sad and crying out for the armor brothers.

"Oh my. They pipsqueak is angry." Envy got close to Ed's face.

"Don't call me that!" Ed snapped. He clapped his hands.

"the fight has started, so come on!"

Edward challenged. Julie's eyes widened.

"ED! Wait! YOUR AR-" Then she facepalmed as it fell, limply, to his side.

"Technical difficulties~!" Envy sang. "Lucky me!" Then he kneed Ed in the stomach.

"Hey! LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Julie yelled. She started forward, but froze as black spikes cut her off.

"Now, now, dearie. Don't want you to get hurt." Lust cooed. Ed collapsed to the ground, face contorted in pain.

"You stupid- Let me go!" Julie said desperately. Then the building began to rumble. Bits of the ceiling started to rain down. Lust smirked and withdrew her talons...or whatever those things are called. Blood stained Julie's jacket. She wavered, dizzy, but managed to reach Ed. Ed had fainted from blood loss, and she punched Envy aside. Suddenly, a large piece of the ceiling came crashing down, and smacked against Julie's head, and fainted.

...Ta da! My longest chapter ever written! :D Sorry about the wait though. I'm really sore right now-not an excuse for being ultra lat- because I went rollerskating at this roller rink and this kid thought it would be fun to kick my skates and I hit the ground so hard I thought my tailbone broke. :'( I went flat out, and almost succeeded in making a whole 'nother army of skaters crash down. (._.)...Anyhoo, thanks for reading!

Oh, and for my other side story, PRANKS, the last chapter's pranks were from Pandoru and Theultimatenerd43! :D Read their stories, it's really good! And if you guys have any ideas for pranks to be played, let me know! Thanks for reading!
