I woke up for school and it was a sunny day in Forks for a change instead of the dreary rain or cloudy, I got out of bed and went and took a shower then I did my morning routine and then headed downstairs and made me and Charlie some breakfast, I did the dishes and headed out as I pulled up in to school and parked my truck Angela came over to me she asked me how I was then we went to our first class calculous oh the joys.
By lunch time I was getting more excited about my day at school being over I was sat with Angela, Ben, Mike, Tyler and Eric; Mike decided to start up a conversation with me "Hey Bella I was wondering who the guy is who keeps picking you up from school is." Mike inquired "Oh right his name is Paul he's my boyfriend why Mike?" I asked "I see I was going to see if you wanted to go to the movies this weekend and get some dinner too" he responded "I'm sorry Mike I'm just not into you like that I think of you as my friend I always have even when I was with Edward" I responded and I felt very proud of myself for saying his name without my chest feeling like I had a hole in it.
As my last class finished I went to my locker and grabbed my things from it and then went out to the parking lot and saw my Paul I couldn't help but smile when he saw me he lit up like a Christmas tree he grinned at me and pulled me into a hug lifting my legs off of the ground and wrapping them around his waist I finally feel like I can breathe for the first time today, "Hey baby how was school?" Paul asked "Hey schools school I couldn't wait for it to be over, how are you?" I inquired "I'm much better now that I finally have you in my arms, how are you?" he replied "I'm good now I feel like I can breathe again now you're here we should see if its normal for us to be feeling this way Paul" I responded, "Sure we can do that after your shift at the medical centre as right now we need to get you there so you're not late on your first day" Paul said.
We drove down to La Push and straight to the medical centre once we were there Paul pulled me onto his lap and gave me a hug and kissed me goodbye before we both climbed out of my truck and he told me he'd be by later to pick me up, I headed straight to my locker and changed into my work clothes in the changing room and went to find Sue to get started.
My shift was definitely eventful it started with me following Sue round to the few in-patients they had and letting her introduce me, we then gave the patients their medicine that they were due then we left them to it while we went and grabbed their meals from the small kitchen and began distributing it to them; a little while later Sue was showing me how to do the paper work that I will need to fill out and showing me how to identify what a patient needs via their charts, Sue also had me help an elderly patient called Mrs Summers to the bathroom too as her legs weren't very stable once she had used the bathroom I gently guided her back to her bed and asked her if she needed anything she replied that she wanted some water so I left her and went and got her a jug filled with water and a glass and poured her a glass of water when I was by her bed again and set the jug down on the table close to her.
When my shift was over I went back to my locker and grabbed my clothes and then headed into the changing room and changed back into my normal clothes and put my work clothes in my bag so I could take them home to wash them, Sue came up to me as I was shutting my locker and getting ready to leave and congratulated me on my first day and a job well done she told me I was a quick learner and it won't be long before I pick up my role and I won't need guidance she then proceeded to tell me she would see me tomorrow and wished me a good night to which I replied with have a good night too and then waved goodbye and left, as I entered the parking lot Paul was there leaning against my truck with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
"Hey baby I hope you had a good first shift I bought you some flowers as a congratulations present, I know they're not much but" Paul said before I cut him off "Hey don't be silly I love them thank you for buying me them you didn't have to, and I had a great shift I really enjoyed it thank you I'm looking forward to my shift tomorrow" I replied we then got into my truck and drove to Sam and Emily's to see the pack and spend some time with them before I had to head home for the night.
When we got there Paul had Sam call the elders and we sat and waited for them to get there everyone was wondering while but we assured them they would know soon enough, "Hello Sam what are we doing here?" Billy Black inquired "Hello Billy me and Paul have some questions about our imprint and we thought maybe the elders would know the answers" I replied "Go ahead then child ask away" old Quil said "We have noticed that it seems when we are away from each other that it feels like we cannot breathe properly but as soon as we are together it's like everything is ok again, we don't understand what's happening" I said "Ah we were afraid of this happening with you living in Forks Bella your imprint is stretched and it's going to take its toll on both of you unless you two live closer together you see with Sam and Emily they live together so they have no side effects, but with you two the imprint is new and you aren't together long enough for it to solidify and with Bella not being human it could be speeding up the effects" Billy replied "I think I may know what I am you see I was cleaning out the attic the other day and found my great grandmas journal and it talks of her going through a change and it coming out of nowhere like mine has, it says she was a form of immortal her body changed and she was more durable but she could choose to age and if she did the immortality would end and she would be able to die" I responded "Does Charlie know about this?" Harry Clearwater asked, "No I don't believe he does I was hoping we could tell him at a bonfire where he has his friends around him to basically make him understand" I replied.
They agreed with what I had said and the elders soon left leaving me, Emily and the pack to have some dinner so we sat down and had spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and once we'd all eaten the boys did the cleaning up and the dishes and we all sat down in the living room and had a game of would you rather, and soon after it was time for me to leave for the night and get home the elders had agreed we needed to set a bonfire for as soon as possible to inform Charlie of my new status and of the effects the imprint was having on me and Paul with the distance between us; Paul drove me home while Jared followed in his truck ready to take Paul back to La Push after I was safely home.
Paul walked me to my door step and gave me a hug and a few kisses "Well I guess this is goodnight baby" Paul said sadly "Yeah I guess it is Paul I have something to tell you" I said "Oh what's that then?" Paul asked "Paul Lahote I need to tell you that you have stolen my heart and I am in love with you" I replied relieved I had told him "Oh Bella I love you too so much you have bewitched me mind, body and soul" he responded then pulled me in to a soul searing kiss and then he turned and headed to the car saying if he didn't leave now he wouldn't leave at all, as I entered the house Charlie was on the sofa watching the news he greeted me and assured me he'd eaten the lasagne I'd left in the fridge for him so I headed upstairs and brushed my teeth and got changed into my pj's and climbed into bed falling into a peacefully slumber soon after.
