"Nico Robin. She done this!" Paulie screamed out of the patio from Iceberg's room. His glaze went from one end of the crowd to the other. She looked at the citizens and cursed under her breath. 'Iceberg must have awaken...' she thought, 'And of course Paulie had to tell.'
"Nico Robin? The Devil Child?"
"Why?!"
"I seen her with the Spade Pirates! They must be apart of this!"
"Who would even try to murder Iceberg?! He done what he could for this island!"
"Spade Pirates! They caused this!"
Within moments, the back of the crowd began to march away from the building. The others began to follow, marching away from the square and onto the streets of Water Seven. Luka watched them all leave her.
Spade Pirates.
Ace's crew.
Fuck.
The marines were already moving without her word, and traveled across the rooftops. Their new goal was to capture the so-called traitors. Luka stood there with two of her lieutenants. They were awaiting for her command. With the other already moving out, her point of standing there and watching everything was pointless. She looked at the two of them and pointed at the building, "Guard Iceberg with the others." There were still a few marines throughout the Iceberg's second house that kept their positions, unlike the others.
She created a few blocks and jumped up into the air. She just hoped she could find them before the others could get them, but Lucci appeared behind her, standing on the box. His bird spoke for him, "What do you think you are doing?"
"Spad-"
"Let them." The boxes that she created behind disappeared, leaving Luka and Lucci standing on a single invisible box in the air. This time Lucci spoke, "They are leaving their defenses weak from looking at the Spade Pirates. For now, they are the scapegoats for this."
Anger rose in Luka's cheeks. Her face turned red. She was moments away from pushing the Fruit User over the edge of the box, but something halted her. "Fine."
Lucci, with a slight pleased frown, hopped off of the box and onto the rooftop of other building. She did the same, but on a different building. So now they were watching her every move. They didn't trust her from all that has happened. She cursed.
She thought informing them about Nico Robin would lead them off of Sabo's and Ace's trail until they left, but now it was the other way around. The citizens were now on their trails.
"Sorry Ace. Sorry Sabo..." she uttered under her breath as she jumped down onto the ground. Her brown hat caused her forehead to be shadowed. With a quick action, she repositioned her jacket and fixed her blouse. She could turn around at this moment and escape with her brothers, but for their safely, she walked on the pavement back to the Townhall.
Lucci disappeared and reappeared throughout the Square; he was using Soru. For average people, they wouldn't have caught the image that stayed in the air in less than a minute, but she did. He was taking his place back at guarding Iceberg's room with the other Gallery-La shipwrights.
Kalifa was currently searching throughout Gallery-La's main office, which was also Iceberg's main home. He only stayed in the Townhall whenever he felt, which was last night.
...
All of them ducked into the sewers. It was the only place safe for them. With river running throughout the city, the sewers were mostly for leaks and draining the currents, as well as being a sewer. Thatch held his nose, "It smells like Ace!" he moaned.
"I actually think it smells more like you," Marco taunted.
"Shut it, Pineapple!"
"They could hear us, you know," Sabo glanced back at them. "Stay here, I'm going up and see what happen." He repeated it once more, "Stay here unless if you want to be meat."
He climbed back up on the ladder and opened the sewer lid. He climbed out and plugged it back up. This was a backstreet alley, he turned the corner and he could see the river that ran throughout the city.
"He probably just wanted to get out of this stench!" Thatch mildly complained as he leaned against the sewer's walls. He regretted it quickly once slime reached the back of his neck. He backed away from it and wiped the filth away. "One whatever going on is done, I'm going to take a nice long shower."
"Why? Does it remind you too much of your home?"
"Marco, I'm so close to punching you," the chef stated as he crossed his arms.
"I'm tired of your complaining."
Jozu stepped between the two. "Stop bickering like kids."
The blonde glanced over to the giant crew member. "How's Ace?"
The Diamond Devil Fruit User lowered Ace to the ground. Not caring about the waste that covered the pavement. Ace was breathing calmly, his heartbeat was normally paced. "He's still dreaming." Jozu bent over him and shook the boy's body. His head rolled to one side to the other, but unlike last night, he was responding to the actions.
"Gimme five mure minutes..."
Thatch walked over and started slapping Ace across the face, "Captain Stink A'Lots! Earth to Ace!"
"Com'on I'm sleepin' here," he moaned. The shaking and slapping continued until Ace's upper body rose and he burnt their hands. "Stop it already! Can't a guy sleep?!"
"Look around," Marco stated.
The boy obeyed and his mouth was opened as he took in his surroundings. He was in a sewer that smelled like a horde of deers came down and died. "What the fuck?!"
"They started hunting us," the blond pointed to the ceiling. "Sabo went to find out why exactly."
"All of this happened while I was asleep? And now I'm covered in this slime!" He frown and stood up, keeping a safe distance away from the slime covered walls.
The firstmate looked around and stared at Ace. Thatch opened his mouth, "Now, tell us what happened last night. You were covered in bruises!"
"Oh, uh..." He paused and thought about what happened last night. He felt bitter and glared at Marco. "I went chasing after her and this guy just halted me. He wouldn't let me through. I think he was either a marine or...someone who Luka knew. Then...I don't remember much else. Like how I got here."
"Marco. He found you and the guy...and your sister..."
"What?!"
"I was following the smoke. You both were unconscious when I showed up, and Luka came and took the guy with her."
"So he was with her! But why would she do that to me, her brother?! Fuck this, I'm going to go find her. I found her two times, but this time I'm going to catch her. Find out what the fuck's going on."
"I wouldn't. The citizens started a riot against us," the giant stated, "Whoever that guy was, must have been out for your head."
"But he was the one that started the fight! I was just chasing after Luka!"
"Maybe he thought you were a pervert?" Thatch suggested and chuckled.
Ace turned and glared at the comedian. "I don't fuckin' care. This has been going on too long. And I'm captain. So what I said, is Captain's orders."
"You're going to get caught," Marco stated.
Thatch and Jozu moved and blocked the ladder. Ace grunted and glared at all of his crew members. Wasn't he suppose to be the captain? First it was Marco, and now all of them were turning against him. "Fine," he told them, "But before the sun goes down, I'm leaving this sewer. This is our last chance, and I'm not messing it."
"Agreed," Thatch nodded to some parts of Ace's statement. "Unless if we know what's going on, we may have to escape to the ship and sail away...but we can't leave Robin or Sabo."
"I'm not leaving Luka or any of them behind. Not again." He firmly stated.
It was silent until Jozu broke it, "Is she our friend or foe?"
"She's family, and that's all that counts."
...
Sabo stuck his head out of the corner and looked both ways. It would have seemed the crowd were still at the hotel, searching for them. At least they managed to run away and find a sewer lid away from the hotel. It would have been more crowded, where he would be unable to sneak out.
Without any living coming near, he raced across the bridge and into a different alley. He needed to get closer to the center of the island. Maybe then he would hear some news about what happened. 'Maybe they are after me for entering the marine base...' he thought, 'Ace could have attacked a marine by accident...or...Luka reported us?' He was thinking of reasons why they would be after them, but all of them seemed wrong.
The citizens wouldn't care if they attacked the marines, it was what pirates did. But he didn't remember seeing any marines with the riot. What have they did to wrong the citizens? The shipwrights would taken care of them if they wronged anyone near there, but Gallery-La helped them instead. Why were they getting so mistreated after a single night? And they were only here for, what it seems like, a week. Luka wouldn't have made them act like this.
Sabo shook his head. He didn't know what they done wrong to these people. On other islands, they were always trying to help those in need, but now everything seemed to twist quickly.
"Dammit."
Sabo halted and looked around, hoping no one would have heard his curse. But the only sound he heard was of a newspaper drifting by. He grabbed it and stared at the words. "...'Spade Pirates...associate of the assassin who attempted to murder Iceberg last night.' So now the whole town's looking for us. It must be a mistake..." He scanned the news article for anything else. "'Iceberg started the assassins was Nico Robin and another masked person this morning, after he waken up. The marines has reinforced the Townhall for any other attempts on Iceberg's life.'"
"Luka...she should be there..." Sabo uttered under his breath.
...
"I need t-to talk with Paulie alone," the man uttered with shivers. His blanket moved as he started coughing. The two marines who were standing within his room, nodded and left with Tilestone. They exited the door, and Tilestone took his seat in one of the five chairs, that were set out in front of Iceberg's room. If the marines failed at keeping Iceberg protected, the Shipwrights were the last defensed, and they were not to be messed with. Kaku, Lulu, and Lucci were already sitting down.
The brunette of the bunch, Kaku, had bandages wrapped around his arms. When they questioned him around it, he answered that he messed up during one of their jobs and it was starting to peel.
Lucci leaned over and had his hands crossed together. Tilestone chose his seat at the end, next to Lucci. "ICEBERG WANTED TO TALK TO PAULIE," the old man stated as if to start a conversation with the others, but more or less caused them all to go deaf from his close-range shouting.
Kaku gave a small laugh, "Now the whole building knows it!"
"HE's GOING TO SAY HIS LAST WORDS?!"
Lucci looked over, as did the other three and gave him a reward of kicks and punches to the loud mouth. "Anything else you want to said?" the pigeon questioned.
"I WAS ONLY SAYING."
"To ask for a private conversation right now, I wonder what's it about," Kaku wondered out loud.
Lulu stood up, "We should move away from the door, that way they can talk." All of them stood up and went down the hallway
Inside of the room, they heard Tilestone's yelling and them retreating. Iceberg looked at the younger man, who was his apprentice. The blond sat on the bed and nodded as Iceberg told him."Under the floor of my room at the Main Office, is a safe. Get that and here's the combination: ## ## ##."
"Yeah, I got it."
"There's a lot of danger in this, and you are the best man for the job. Will you accept this?"
"Just leave it to me."
"Please, be careful," Iceberg stated.
"I'm going now."
"Sure."
Paulie opened the door, "Don't worry, I will get it." He shut it as he stepped out. The four others looked at him.
"Finished talking?" the pigeon questioned.
"Yeah, got some things to do. So I'm leaving for a bit."
"That's fine, the four of us should be enough," Lulu stated.
Well, I must said, Ace is starting to become a total brute in this. Wasn't aiming for that at first, but anger gets to people. And now Sabo has his own thing going on. Thanks for the support!
NightHunterDeath: Either Sabo and Luka, or when night comes, whichever comes first.
morningbird123: I was only joking about it, since it does seem Robin and Luka has the same problems going on. MarcoxLuka is the main pairing, well, will be once they can actually see each other.
general yumi: I was thinking about that, or try going into the Whitebeard War with CP9 trying to taking Luka back (or make that as a sequel). This was my first story, so I'm trying to make it as entertaining as much as possible.
FindingThatDamnedOnePiece:...I would have never know. I just chose Luka cuz it sounded good, and I felt like if I used Luffyko, I would be stealing another Author's idea. Well, I would have never guessed, since others did the same with Usopp (Usoppko); or it was something in Japanese to make things feminine, like in Spanish, you change the -o to -a at end of words (how Zora was born!).
