Chapter 14 end of spring break

finally updating!
Sorry for the long wait, I've been busy with both work and study. I also have starting to lack motivation with this story, However i do plan on finishing it as best as I can. I hope you all had a good Easter if you celebrated it, and any holidays you got I hope you enjoyed them. Now that my work has calmed down I hope to update more frequently for you guys and i Hope you enjoy this chapter, and thank you to the people who leave a review you make me smile :) xo -steph
Ali's pov
Em I'm bac where...where are you? "I'm in here," I instantly smiled at the sound of my girls voice and placed the takeaway on the small cottage table, before making my way towards the bathroom. Tonight was our lasting night in this cottage and I promised Emily we could do whatever she wants. The first thing she said she wanted was for me to go get take out, so that's exactly what I did. Babe what are you doing? I got foo... My voice caught in my throat as I gently pushed the door open revealing exactly what she was doing in there. The room was at lest 90% dark with only a few candles surrounding the bath tub, And Emily was lying completely still with bubbles hiding her perfect body all the way up to her neck. Her long brown hair was tied up into a messy bun, and her eyes we closed as she rest her head on the edge. The little amount Of light from the candles allowed me to be able to see her beautiful face and I felt myself smile. "You know babe it's not nice to stare". Emily chuckled with her eyes still closed and I jumped slightly realising I'd been caught. Ignoring her as best I could, I closed the door taking a seat on the bench near the sink. So this is what you had in mind? I quirked and eyebrow causing her to look at me. Emily blushed before nodding her head and closing her eyes again. "Mmm Since the first day we got here" why didn't you tell me this sooner?, I think it's a great idea. Emily shrugged her shoulders "I figured It could wait until our last day, that way it would me more special". What about dinner? it will go cold. Emily shook her head readjusting her spot. "Dinner can wait, you said we could do what I want and that is for you to hurry up and get undressed. I for one think your wearing far to much clothing" I rolled my eyes hopping off the bench, lifting both my t-shirt and Emily's hoodie over my head at the same time. Stripping myself out of my jeans and panties, I unhooked my bra and watched as she bit her bottom lip. Is this better babe? I teased as I reached for a hair tie and began tying up my hair. " it will be once you join me". Emily smirked and I took that as my opportunity to kiss it away by stepping into the tub and crawling my way on top of her my thighs either side. When my lips met hers our eyes closed and I pecked her lips softly feeling her muscles relax underneath me. Pulling me even closer her arms snaked around my back causing our chest to touch. When the kiss broke our eyes met and I looked lovingly into hers. " I missed you Emily whispered before placing a few feathery kisses to my check.
Em, I was gone for like half an hour. " yeah well that was half an hour to long, I always miss you when I'm not with you, I'm sorry if that make me seem clingy or whatever". Emily's grip on my body loosened and she dipped her head in a attempted to hide her face in my neck. Hey babe look at me. Emily lifted her head a little and I tilted her chin towards me. You are not clingy okay? don't ever think that, I miss you too when were apart, regardless if it's a whole month or a few minutes how could I not? I moved my hands to cup the sides of her cheeks an rested our foreheads together. I love you mermaid, now how about you kiss me like you missed me?
Emily's pov
The next hour was spent exactly how I planed it With my favourite person relaxing in her arms. When the two of us got out, we got dress before heating up our food, and crawling into the bed. The two of us decided to watch a movie and cuddle before drifting off to Saturday morning I woke up to my alam and a still very tired Ali. "Mmm Emmy why do we have to get up so early?". I rolled my eyes and smiled, it's not that early babe trust me, besides we need to check out by 10 the owner would like his keys back. Ali rolled over and groaned into the pillow. "I just want to sleep". You can, but In the car. I'll drive us, Sitting up I reached over and kissed her temple. if your ready in a half hour I'll shout us a coffee. Ali sat up pulling the blanket with her towards her chin. Okay, okay I'm awake. The rest of the morning went by to fast. Ali way surprisingly ready and I new the only reason she was, was because of the coffee and as I loaded our bags into the car, Alison hoped in leaving me to speak with the man, retuning the keys and thanking him for our stay. When we started our drive back to Rosewood, I stopped off at the nearest coffee shop and ordered two takeaway coffees as promised, and when I returned to the car Ali smiled. Here this should keep you awake babe. Ali took her cup before reaching over for a kiss. "Thanks Em" your welcome. The drive back to Rosewood felt a lot shorted then when we left, there was hardly any traffic and we arrived an hour before I had to work at the Brew. As much as I would have liked to call someone to cover it I new I had to work, so when we arrived home I planed to take a shower. Hey babe I'm going to take a quick shower before work you won't to join me? I question Ali but when I turned around I found her already Curled up on my bed with her favourite pillow. She looked exhausted, and although I told her she could sleep on the way home she insisted that she wanted to be awake to keep me company. Walking over I pulled off her boots as gently as I could before tucking the knitted blanket at the end of the bed up around her waist. Brushing my hand through her blonde curls I then kissed her head before grabbing a towel. After my shower I returned to my room getting dressed, before searching for my old work apron. When I found it, I began fixing my hair and face. Hearing the sound of my mothers car in the drive way, I wrote Ali a quick note and placed it on the pillow next to her, Before Grabbing my coat And heading down stairs to greet my mother.
"Emily honey your home, I missed you". I smiled as I hugged my mother hello. "What time did you get back?" umm 2ish I think, "where's Ali did you take her home?" No she's actually asleep on my bed is it okay if she's here while I'm at work? "Of course honey is everything okay with you two now?" Everything is perfect mum, I can't stay an chat though or I'll be late I'll see you a bit after 7. "Alright I'll make sure dinners ready bye then". Arriving at work I smiled to myself as I was just on time. "Emily it's nice to see you again you ready to work?" Zac smiled and I smiled back. sure am it's great to be back. "Good to hear, now come with me for a sec there is someone I'd like you to meet. Thalia this is Emily, Em this is Thalia". "It's nice to meet you Emily zac specks quite highly of you, he's always saying "if Emily was here she would know how to do it". "Thalia's our new chief she's a great cook, as are you with coffee. But now that you two have meet let's get to work". Right, uh it was nice meeting you I guess. Thalia smiled at me and I turned around following zac out the door as I tied my apron. "So everything out here's pretty much the same as before you left, if you can't find anything just ask max, Thalia's out back for the rest of the night too, I'm off". Alright thanks again for giving me some work. "Not a problem Emily it's much easier for me to not have to train someone new. Max and Thalia will lock up".
Ali's pov
I woke abruptly to the sound of banging and crashing coming from down stairs, and the smell of something amazing. When I opened my eyes I frowned not remembering at all why I was asleep on Emily's bed. When I sat up I stretched my arms and turned my head towards the clock. It was 6 pm already and I had no idea where Emily was. Laying back down my hand landed on the pillow next to me and I found a peace of paper with her hand writing.
Hey baby,
Guess you needed that sleep after all huh? If your wondering where I am I'm just at work, I didn't want to wake you but I had to go as it was my first shift back. My mums home doing god knows what, and my shift finishes at 7 so I'll see you soon love you -Em
I smiled at the fact that Emily had removed my shoes and tucked me in, but was brought out of my thoughts as I heard some more banging and crashing from down stairs. Deciding to head down stairs and see what it was I smiled when I saw pam who seemed to be looking for something In the kitchen. When she turned around she jumped. "Oh Ali honey you scared me". Sorry... I just want to see if you wanted any help. "Sure you could help by getting that pot down for me, Did I wake you". I shook my head wanting to be polite. No I was already awake, What are you making? "Oh nothing fancy I just thought I'd make shepherds pie one of Emmy's favourites, Would you mind pealing those potatoes sweetie?" Yeah sure. "so it's nice that you and Emily are back together dear she probably wouldn't admit it but keeping her distance from you was hard, I'm glad whatever it was got sorted out, your still like family to us". I'm glad too, I smiled at the shorter woman who really feels like my second mum. You know I'm actually going to go for a walk if that's okay, I will stop by the brew and walk her home. "That sound great, I think she will like that Thanks for your help". No problem I'll be back soon.
As I began walking the streets of Rosewood, I smiled at all the memories I have made here. with Rosewood being such a small town it was like everything I was passing by meant something. As I began approaching the Brew, I contemplated wether to text her but decided to surprise her instead. Walking in the door bell rang signalling my entrance and I was surprised to see only 3 or four customers. Spotting Emily talking to another worker, I headed in that direction but stopped when I heard the conversation. "So Zac never told me how pretty you are, like seriously you could be a model or something". Oh... Uh thanks Emily brushed the complement off, and I watched how immediately Emily became uncomfortable when the unknown girl reached out and rubbed her hand up and down her arm. "Oh hell No she is not hitting on my girl, I just got her back!" I thought to myself as I bit my tongue before taking a deep breath and walking towards them. I promised Emily I wouldn't go all crazy jealous again, but that doesn't mean she can't know she's taken. This whole time Emily has had her back towards me, but as I approached her I slid my hand into hers and smiled. She is pretty isn't she, I agreed as I felt Emily's hand tense before relaxing at the sound of my voice. The other girl completely oblivious to our hand holding nodded. "Yeh whoever is lucky enough to have her as there lover must be pretty dam special? I know I would love to". Emily squeezed my hand in reassurance and before I could say something I'd regret she steeped in. "I'm the lucky one Thalia, and thank you for the complement but my special someone happens to be right here with us, and I think she would like it if from now on you didn't hit on me". I smiled, my mouth slightly open in shock. Thalia's eyes then widen before she turned her her attention To me. "Her? Oh honey you could do so much better then her, I've known you less than four hours and I can tell you that. Your missing out, I tell you what when your done with her let me know". "Hey don't talk about her like that, you don't even know her". I could feel how angry Emily was getting and when she tried to step closer to her I grabbed both her hands. Babe, babe look at me, she's not worth it. And with that Thalia turned on her heals and headed back out into the kitchen.
when she was finally out of sight Emily's body relaxed a little. "I... I'm so sorry Ali you... I didn't... You shouldn't have had to see that what... What are you doing here is everything okay at home? Emily calm down everything's fine, I just decided to go for a walk and figured I might as well pick you up on my way back. Emily's face sofen and a smile appeared. "Alright well give me five I'm almost done, we can talk on the way home". Emily then leaned In and gave me a quick peck on the lips before heading towards the counter and I grabbed a seat on a stool. When she was finished the two of us headed outside and she immediately offered me her hand which I took. It was silent both of us probably think about the same thing. "Hey Ali, you... You don't really believe what she said do you?. I shrugged, a part of me did think that Emily deserved a lot better then me, she deserves someone who always make her happy and showes her just how much they love her, not someone that not to long ago broke her heart by breaking things off with her over jealousy. I...kind of... I don't know. I stuttered as we continued to walk. "Ali stop", Emily stopped walking making sure I was paying attention. Don't listen to her okay, she's just jealous that's all, i don't want anyone else and you know that, the only thing she said in there that was right was when she said that whoever I was in love with must be special. You are special, you are the most important person in my life and I wouldn't trade you for the world". I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I listen to her sweet words, But before I could say anything Emily kissed me with a force as though to show that she was completely serious. That she Emily Fields loves me more than anything and I kissed her back. When It broke I smiled, I love you Em "I love you too princess let's go home".
Emily's pov
When the two of us arrived home we headed to my room. You know babe I'm actually quite proud of you. I smiled at Ali as I began to change into something more comfortable. "What...Why? Ali looked at me confused before I joined her on my bed. I'm proud of you because you could have totally gone off at her if you wanted to but you didn't, and instead you tried to tell her that I was already taken. "Oh trust me I wanted to babe but i made you a promise, I promised I would be more chilled and less jealous if something happened again so I... I just held it in. I guess having you as my girlfriend I should get use to people thinking your hot, I myself find you very attractive". You know jealousy doesn't always have to be a bad thing. "Hey I was not jealous, like you said I was simply trying to tell her you are mine". I rolled my eyes, alright then whatever you think you were was kinda hot, I mean I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I teased her as I straddled her waist and her hands stopped me from falling off the bed. Ali pouted before nudging me only for me to nudge her back causing her to lie down and Me to come with her. Relax princess I was kidding. I then began kissing Ali's neck where it tickles knowing she couldn't move and was trapped. "Mmm babe stop you know that tickles. Eee...Em I'm serious"! Okay I'll stop. what did you do while I was at work? "Well I didn't wake till six, but when I did your mum was making a lot of noise so when I went down stairs I asked if she wanted any help with dinner and she said yes". You... You helped her cook? Ali nodded and I grinned like a little kid earning her another kiss. What was that for? For being you... Now continue. I lay my body as close as possible to her with my head on her chest and our legs tangled. "Well then I just decided to go for a walk to pass the time, and I want to surprise you and walk you home". Well I'm glad you did "so am I now Thalia knows your taken".
One week later and spring break was going great. Ali and I have spend almost every waking moment together and both Lauren and Morgan were due to arrive any minute, we had been planing what to do with them all week and Ali offered that she could just stay in filly while the girls were in rosewood but I was in no way about to give up a whole week of spring break without her, and secretly I think she was happy that she was included. When the girls arrived I was tackled into a warm hug from my second favourite blonde who was more then happy to see me. Morgan was stuck carrying their bags so I offered to help. Lauren also greeted Ali with a hug, who smiled from ear to ear. when the four of us made it inside we headed into the kitchen and I introduced them to my mum. During the week the girls where in rosewood, Alison and I took them to places like the grill and the brew, Ali begged me to let her take Lauren shopping so knowing that Morgan and I would not enjoy it I allowed them to go, and instead took Morgan with me for a run. We went to my favourite spot in the park, where I told her many different stories about running with Ali. On Wednesday the four of went on a picnic in the woods at my old tree house, before making our way to the kissing rock. when we were done the four of us went out to dinner at the new Italian place Ali and I went to a few weeks ago, and Arriving back at my place the girls and I planed what to do on there last day, when Ali's phone rang and she excused herself. The caller ID came up as Lexie and I was glad that she had called as I new Ali was missing her. When she came back she said that Lexie was back from her trip and wanted to see her tomorrow. I could tell by the look on her face she was torn. She didn't want to give up time with me, but she also wanted to see her friend. Which is why I came up with a brilliant idea. How about we grab breakfast tomorrow, the four of us and then you can go meet Lexie in Filly? I was thinking of taking the girls for a swim at rosewood pool, maybe show them around where I use to train before they leave. I can meet you back in Filly tomorrow afternoon? "That sounds great Em". You guys ok with that? Lauren nodded "of course you don't have ask me twice to get in a pool". Morgan rolled her eyes "yeah I could use a swim maybe burn off some of the junk food I've been eating before swim starts back". Great then it looks like we have a plan.
After the four of us grabbed breakfast at the brew on Thursday, Ali said her goodbyes to Morgan and Lauren, and headed off to meet Lexie as planed. I then took the girls to the pool, and It was so much fun getting to show them where I use to compete and train, the three of us were able to muck around with out getting into trouble, and we even ended up just swimming for fun towards the end. When we started to wrinkle the three of us headed to the change rooms before I walked them out to there car. The girls were heading back to Stanford a week earlier then me, but I promised to be home in time for dinner and a movie the night before classes start. With to final hugs, they thanked me for showing them around and I told them that next time it was there turn. Waving goodbye I sent a message to Ali that I was on my way and would be at her place in a couple of hours. Pulling up in Filly I unlocked the door with my key and was greeted bye spencer. "Hey Emily long time no see" hey spencer, I smiled at the warm welcome she gave me. "Ali's not back yet, but she shouldn't be long you can wait in her room if you want, Toby's on his way to pick me up looks like it's just you and Ali tonight" Alright well have fun then. "I will".
When Ali got home she found me spread out on her bed with head phones in. Making her way over she smiled before pulling out my head phones and kissing me. "I'm back babe". I grinned, good now your all mine for the next 10 days right? "Well not exactly". I pouted why not? "Well Lexie and I got talking and she feels like since we got back together, I've been distant. I mean we went on a holiday and so did she and she only got back yesterday, but she doesn't wanna be left out. So i kinda maybe promised her I'd spend time with her at lest three more times before the end of spring break. Fine, I guess that's okay, can you make it when I have to work? Ali nodded "already thought of that I'll see what I can do, trust me when I'm not with her I'll be with you".
On Friday Alison and I went to a market in Filly, spencer was still with Toby so with her still out we decided to recreate our first cooking experience except this time we were hoping the brownies would work, and we used a recipe. The best part of the day was the food war that was evident we had, as there was chocolate everyone in the kitchen. On Saturday I had work, so as promised Ali's attention went to Lexie. she said something about them seeing a movie and grabbing lunch and honestly I was happy she had something to do while I was at work. On Sunday Ali worked and I went with, it was great to see both Margret and Rita again and Rita even made me lunch. On Monday Ali and I decide to make a over night trip and go camping, so we visited my mum for brunch before grabbing my family's camping gear. When Alison had told me she and her family had never been, I new that this was something new we could do together so I picked a spot not to far out of town with a lake. Most of my knowledge about camping was learned from Aria, and the many times I joined her family but my dad was the one who taught me how to pitch a tent. "How do... How do you know what to do Em? you... You make this look easy". It's practice babe, do you want me to teach you? Ali nodded watching me hammer in a peg, before I held the tent in position and let her have a go. Your a natural babe I smirked and Ali rolled her eyes. "Your just saying that because I'm your girlfriend, you have to say that". No I'm not I'm being serious, it took me ages to learn how to use the hammer and pegs. Ali smiled brightly at my complement and I pulled her into a hug. "You know Em... I... I always wished when I was little that I could have had a dad to teach me all this stuff but I was stuck with a abusive one instead". Ali's face fell and I felt sad for her that she never got to do these type of things.
I'm sorry you had such a lame father Ali, but you have me, I may not be the best teacher I mean I'm not a guy but I'll give it a go, were her so let's try and have some fun. I squeezed Ali's hand for comfort and kissed her on the lips. "Your right babe he is lame, and I'm sure you will teach me better anyway. How about we go find some wood for a fire? you can lead the way" When we returned with the wood we made a pile. Ali went insides our tent to set up before dark, leaving me the job of lighting the fire, and when I was done Ali sat down on the same log as me and cuddled in. So what now? Well since we grabbed dinner on the way, how about we make s'mores. "What's that? It's dessert, I smiled before placing a kiss on her checked and collecting the food from the trunk of the car. When I returned Ali was waiting patiently. Alright grab a stick and place a marshmallow on it. The two of us threaded our marshmallows on, and she copied me as I placed it close to the fire. Make sure you turn it babe or it will burn. Ali laughed "um I'm pretty sure that's to late". Removing her stick the once pink marshmallow was now black, and she pulled it off. don't worry try again, maybe not so close this time. I watched as Ali attempted to try again and pulled my lightly cook marshmallow off the stick placing it in the middle of two chocolate biscuits. When Ali's second and third marshmallow didn't work, I could tell she was a little frustrated. "Babe it's not working". I laughed as she pouted and I kissed it away, look I'll help this time. When Ali placed the stick in the fire, I placed my hand on top of hers taking control of when to turn it. when it was ready Ali smiled as I handed her two biscuits and she placed it inside, smiling when she bit into it and moaned. "This taste so good". I chuckled at how cute she looked and she nudged me "babe don't laugh it's a lot harder then it looks okay". I'm not laughing at that, I'm laughing because you have melted chocolate on you. "Where"? Ali attempted to get it with her hand but I stopped her. Here let me, I gentle cradled her left side of her face in my hand and Ali leaned into the touch as my lips and tongue licked and sucked the chocolate off her chin. when I was done I made two more this time making sure I was the one in charge of the marshmallows, and Ali was In charge of the biscuits.
When we were finished, it started to get cold so I went and grabbed a blanket, and the two or use enjoyed looking up at the stars until I felt Ali almost falling asleep. putting out the fire, I stood up offering Ali my hand and the two of us made our way to the tent using a torch. As we made ourselves comfortable in our sleeping bags Ali began to shiver. Babe are you cold? I questioned her Even though I new the answer. "Umm maybe a little", she admitted and I grinned. Well you should have warn more clothes like I said. "I know, how come your always right?". I'm not but maybe next time you will listen I mean I did say it gets cold. Ali rolled her eyes for the second time tonight when she caught me laughing. "You know instead of trying to teach me some sort of lesson for not listening we could just cuddle? Ali suggested but I pretended that I didn't want to just to tease her. Nope, camping is different babe we need to stay in our own sleeping bags other wise you won't get the really experience. "Fine if you say so" Ali rolled over burying herself in her sleeping bag and whispered goodnight, but when she started shaking I couldn't take it any longer. God Ali get over here, you didn't actually think I was serious did you? "But you said"... When she rolled over I placed my finger on her cold lips. I know what I said i was just messing with you of course we can cuddle, I'm surprised you even bothered to ask. Ali's face frowned before lighting up, and as she moved closer I sat up. Hang on take this, pulling off my hoodie I handed it to Ali. "Em what about you? Now you will be cold" I shook my head. Ali I came prepared, I have four layers on you only have two. Beside I have you to keep me warm if I need it. Ali sat up taking the hoodie gratefully and I caught her smelling it. Curling back under the covers she turned to face me and I lay back down so our faces met before threading my arms around her waist. as my eyes closed I felt her warm breath hit my neck. "Thanks for taking me camping Em". Your welcome babe I love you. "I love you too mermaid" and I smiled when I felt an innocent kiss placed on my neck.
Wednesday morning I made breakfast as the two of us sat around the fire, before I made Ali join me on a bush walk. I made it short and sweet wanting to give her the best experience, before convincing her to go for a swim in the lake. Despite the fact that it was cold last night the sun was out and it was perfect weather for a quick dip. When we were finished, we dried off before heading back to our spot and packing up our tent ready to return home. Thursday I had to work again so Ali and Lexie hung out at her place doing whatever it is the like to do together. I even ran into her when I arrived home and she was leaving, so we made polite conversation. On Friday Alison and I went to lunch with Hanna and Aria, before having them join us for a long over due sleepover which felt like high school all over again. On Saturday I had my last shift at the brew, and Ali was meant to see Lexie, however when I got home and Ali said Lexie couldn't make it, I new that meant that Lexie wanted to hang out tomorrow instead. I was all for hanging out with Lexie if I had to but some how I new Lexie did this knowing it was my last day in Filly before uni starts back, she's taken to a disliking of me ever since Ali's and mine break. "Babe are... Are you mad? If... If you are I'll just tell her I can't, I know you wanted it to just be use before you leave". I'm not mad, I'm just... I don't know frustrated, she will get to see you every day when your at uni, can't she just wait. I mean we only have a few hours before I need to leave, Then your all hers. "Your right tomorrow should be you and me, I'll just tell her I'm booked till twelve". Ali kissed me on the lips and I smiled. You sure? I don't want her to be mad at you. "It's fine, I can take it, besides I'd rather spend quality time with my mermaid anyway".
Ali's pov
When Sunday finally came I text Lexie that she would have to wait till later as I was spending time with Em, and she was actually okay with it. I made my girl breakfast in bed before the two of us watched a movie on the couch, and then we headed to Rosewood to say goodbye to her mum and pick up a few things, on the way back she dropped me home. I wish you didn't have to go, I... I feel like I just got use to you being back. "I know babe but I have to okay, we've done it before and we can do it again, one year down two to go. I'm sure Lauren will be waiting for me and Lexie will be here to keep you company, I promise I'll call to let you know I'm there". Alright drive safe baby I love you. "I love you too see you soon". I gave Emmy one last kiss, savouring the taste of her sweet lips on mine as much as possible, before watching her take off, ready for our second year of college.
