#2 - Cyra
Ever since I can remember, I have always had one strong thought in the back of my mind. I must succeed. I am 17 years old but I know my purpose clearly. Klea is very keen on making sure I know my place because one day I may have to take charge and she needs to prepare me for that moment.
At the moment, she is out tracking down some trolls. We had reports of trolls gathering around a human party so Klea rushed off. To occupy myself, I am helping some of my siblings pack down tents around the camp. We are due to move at first light and there is a lot of work to do. Humans would call Klea my mother, I am her seedling. All of the faeries on this sight are her seedlings. As much as Klea hates to admit it, we are all her children. I don't have a close bond with all of my siblings; just Amorie and Parker.
Us three have similar facial features but different hair colours. Mine is a brown so dark it is almost black. Parker has light brown hair and Amorie has stunning blonde hair. We look just like human siblings; Klea said it was like the stars came together for her when we came along. She called us perfect.
Parker is sat in the tree above from me; a playful smile forming at the corner of his month. He flips down and throws his arm around me. I scowl and brush him off which causes him to laugh like the kid he is. Amorie makes her way towards us and puts on the best smile she can. She rests against Parker and I look away. Klea has only just finished a round of experiments with Amorie and my poor baby sister is still really weak.
I look up suddenly as my siblings raise their voices and everyone rushes out. I see a car approach the camp. All the fae; including Yuki, run behind my little group, 'Parker,' I say quickly and he nods. We work together to wrap us all in an illusions and then we wait.
We all stare for a long, 'It's Klea.' Someone whispers behind me.
I nod my head and the fae rush out, back to the work they were doing. Yuki and Amorie stay protected by the illusion. Klea steps out of the car with confidence; following her are two teenagers.
'There is fall magic here.' Yuki whispers to us.
Parker stares for a moment, 'That's the scion, Laurel. I am sure of it.'
Amorie's eyes dance with curiosity, 'what is she doing here?' None of us know the answer.
Laurel and her friend sit with Klea at the picnic table. It takes all I have to not go stand with Klea but we can not make ourselves known. We are all too important for Kleas plans.
We can't make out the conversation and that frustrates me. This is the girl we have been waiting for. I have no idea who the guy is but he doesn't matter; he is clearly only a human. Laurel is going to end up with the spring faerie, Tamani if Kleas plan with Yuki fails and they are going to create the most powerful faerie of all; one that can have full control over winter.
That is Klea's master plan. We know Laurel and Tamani will create a power stronger than anything Avalon will ever know. She will rule Avalon and the mighty kingdom Arendelle in the human world as well. Klea knows that when the humans know she is a faerie; one of two fates will change everything. The human and faeries could find a way to be part of each others worlds again or everything could turn into beautiful madness. Both of those outcomes make Kleas eyes swim with delight.
Parker snaps me out of my thoughts my saying my name. I turn around to see that Amorie has collapsed and Yuki is scanning her body with her hands to make sure no harm has come to our sister. I cut off a groan and gesture for Parker to keep the illusion up. Luckily, Laurel and her friend as standing up and Klea guides them to their car. As soon as the car is out of sight, we release our illusion and rush to Amorie's side.
Yuki looks at us, 'she is alright, she is just exhausted.'
Parker sighs and effortlessly picks up our baby sister; cradling her to his chest. I stroke our sisters cheek before Parker rushes her back to our tent. Yuki nods at me before following them.
I make my way over to Klea. She has sat back at the table and is staring at the sky. 'Is she who I think she is?' Klea asks me before I even speak.
I nod and sit down next to her, 'She is the Scion; Yuki is sure of it.'
'I knew it,' Klea mumbles to herself. 'Better prepare yourself young one; your mission is just about to begin.'
