Please! Please! Do not kill me. I thought I would have a lot of time to update a lot for my stories but that is just not the case. I just looked and saw that I had already written this chapter for this story; I had just never put it up. I am so sorry for the wait. I am going to try and get better about updating.
"Taylor, wake up!" Taylor opened her eyes to see Sharpay standing over her.
Taylor looked at the time on her phone. "Sharpay it is four in the morning, what do you want?"
"Chad's parents are down stairs." Sharpay said.
"What?" Taylor questioned.
Taylor knew something was wrong. She quickly got out of the bed and ran out of her room. Sharpay followed behind Taylor as they headed down the stairs. When the girls arrived downstairs, they saw Sharpay's and Chad's parents in the living room in their pajamas.
"Mr. and Mrs. Danforth, what is going on?" Taylor asked.
Allison wiped a tear and looked over at Taylor. She walked over to Taylor.
"Taylor, have you spoken to Chad?" she asked.
"Not since I left from your house. Why? Is he okay?" Taylor looked at her.
"Taylor, don't panic but Chad ran away." Ron spoke up.
"What?" Taylor shouted.
"I went to go check on him in the middle of the night and he wasn't in his bed." Allison turned over towards Ron. "We never should've told him."
"I wasn't going to lie to my son." Ron looked down at Allison.
"But you can lie to me?" Allison questioned.
"Okay, Allison would you like some tea?" Mrs. Evans looked over at Chad's mother.
"Yes please." Allison followed Sharpay's mom into the kitchen.
"Taylor, can you call Chad and see if he answers?" Ron asked.
Taylor nodded her head and ran upstairs to get her phone. Taylor walked in her room and found her phone sitting on the night stand. She quickly dialed Chad's number and waited for him to answer.
"Chad please pick up." Taylor said to herself.
Taylor was so confused. She couldn't understand why chad would just run away. When she left the dinner at Chad's house everything seemed to be okay. She just wanted answers. After she didn't get an answer from Chad's phone, Taylor walked out of her room.
"Taylor, why is everyone up?" Ryan opened his door and looked at Taylor as he rubbed his eyes.
Taylor faced Ryan. "Chad ran away and I'm going to go look for him." She continued walking down the stairs.
"Wait! Let me help." Ryan grabbed his sweater and followed behind Taylor.
"Did he answer?" Ron turned around when he heard footsteps.
"No." Taylor responded.
"Okay, I'm going over Troy's house. Let us know if he calls." Chad's father grabbed his keys and walked out of the house.
"Did Ron just leave?" Allison walked out of the kitchen with Sharpay's mom behind her.
Taylor turned and looked at Chad's mom. "Yeah, he went to go check at Troy's house."
"I wish he would've asked me to go with him." Allison mumbled.
"Mom, can I go with Taylor to go look for Chad?" Ryan asked.
"I don't need your help." Taylor turned to him.
"Uh Ryan, just be careful out there. You're already in trouble with the law." Ryan's mom responded.
"I'm not going to let you wander around by yourself at night." Ryan grabbed his keys and walked to the door. He looked back at Taylor who just stood there.
"Are you coming?" He asked.
Taylor sighed and walked past Ryan out of the door. She walked to his car and got in. As Ryan pulled out of the driveway, Taylor tried again and again to reach Chad's cell but he never answered.
"Do you know where he could be?" Ryan asked.
"No!" Taylor was frustrated. She looked out of the window and sighed.
"You really care about him don't you?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah, I do." Taylor sighed. "Thank you for driving me."
"No problem. But can I give you some advice?" Ryan asked.
Taylor chuckled. "The one that is in trouble the most wants to give me advice?"
Ryan looked at Taylor and shook his head. "Just listen, smarty. The more you get all worked up and agitated, the less of our chances in finding him."
Taylor looked at him and then apologized for snapping at him. Ryan may act like a pain towards Sharpay and his parents but towards Taylor, Ryan was a different person.
"Can you just pull over at the park?" Taylor asked.
Ryan pulled in the parking lot of the park and Taylor got out. It was so dark out Taylor couldn't even see past the swings. She stood by the car and looked at her phone. There wasn't a call or text from Chad. Taylor started walking off into the distance and Ryan got out of his car.
"Taylor, don't go out there by yourself." He said.
Taylor turned around and looked at him.
"Just stay here."
She continued walking and Ryan slowly followed her. Taylor heard her feet touching the little rocks on the sandy grounds. She stopped walking when she heard a footstep that wasn't hers.
"Chad?" Taylor questioned.
"Taylor?" A bright light flashed in Taylor's face and she covered her face.
After Taylor looked and saw who it was she ran over and hugged the person.
"Taylor what are you doing out here?" Chad asked.
"I should be asking you the same thing." Taylor responded.
"Taylor! Is everything okay?"
Chad flashed his light to see Ryan.
"I thought I told you to stay at the car?" Taylor said.
"I wasn't going to let you run off a lone." Ryan said.
"Can you give us a minute? We'll meet you back at the car." Taylor said. "Call your parents and tell them that we found him."
Ryan nodded and head and walked away.
"Taylor, I'm not going back." Chad said.
"Chad I don't understand. What is going on?" Taylor asked.
Chad looked off into the distance and held Taylor close to him. "My parents are getting a divorce. They told me after you left."
Taylor hugged Chad tight. "Chad I am so sorry because I don't know what you're going through. But I know that running away is not how you deal with it."
"I was dealing with it fine until you guys found me." He answered.
"SO you were just going to run away? Not even tell anyone where you were going?" Taylor asked.
"I was going to call when I reached my destination." Chad responded.
"Which is where?" Taylor asked. "I bet that you don't even know."
"Why does it even matter? No one would care." Chad began to yell.
"That's not true. I care. Why do you think I'm out here? I'm damn sure that your mom and dad would care as well." Taylor said.
"Don't even mention anything with my dad. If he did care about me maybe none of this would even be happening." Chad said as he turned away from Taylor.
"Chad what are you talking about?" Taylor asked.
"My dad is having an affair." He closed his eyes. Taylor covered her mouth in shock.
"That's why they are getting the divorce. He obviously doesn't give a damn about my mom and me. If he did he wouldn't be with some other woman." He continued.
Taylor hugged Chad tight. "Baby I am so sorry but running away is not the answer. Just think of the people you'll be leaving behind."
"Taylor right now the only person I care about is you. I don't care about anyone else." Chad said.
"If you care about me that much then come back home." Taylor said. "It's not safe out here and you know it."
"Fine, but only if you stand by me every step of the way." Chad said.
Taylor cupped Chad's face in her hands. "Baby, I will always stand by you."
Chad grabbed Taylor's hand and they walked back hand in hand to Ryan's car. Taylor sat in the back with Chad and she slowly drifted off to sleep on his shoulder.
"Chad, you are one lucky man. There aren't so many girls like her man." Ryan said as he drove back to his house.
"Tell me something I don't know." Chad looked down at Taylor and kissed her forehead.
