I was throwing up so badly that I couldn't even keep down the stale water anymore. The Chameleon just stared at me as I hit both knees throwing up all over the tunnel floor. I had been sick lately with a stomach virus. Probably from all the dirt and germs that lurked in these tunnels. There was an entire tunnel used for a toilet no wonder I was sick. I could never wash my hands or take a shower. There was never a break from all the filth. Even though the Chameleon still fed me jerky, chips, and canned fruit. I couldn't keep any of it down no matter how hard I tried. Or it could be…no no please God no. I had run out of prayers a while back. This will be the end of me if it is true. I was his always now but up until now I never knew how real it could feel up until this moment. He did what he said he would do. Why else would I be so sick all of a sudden? He was a mutant and I was now pregnant with our mutant child. I was finally giving into the words that I tried so hard to fight. At first I didn't want to hear it and didn't want to think it. I am his and we made this baby together. The thought played over and over in my head. He would father and I would mother. He looked at me with long pauses throughout my sick episodes. He always lifted me to my feet afterwards too. He was aroused every time. He started at my chest pulling on my breasts in a way. This was new but it didn't feel bad. He seemed to want me so much more now in a sensual way. I know he wouldn't let me rest at first when it came to sex but that started to decrease little by little. Obviously not enough since I was pregnant. Now he wanted me every time right after I had just finished being sick. He would shove on top of me licking me on the chest and sliding his hard one up and between my thighs. I didn't scream or fight that was in the past. I laid there and looked forward to it as always. I was fortunate enough to orgasm if he was slow and steady. I was his and he was mine we owned each other now. There was a seal between us that could not be broken. I was going to be mother to his children. This was the start of a beginning. Maybe I was going insane or I may be already crazy either way this was the rest of my life.

Both Christian and Charlie's feet step onto the earthy soiled floor of a small chamber made entirely of dirt. This single chamber splits off into two individual tunnels that branch apart in different directions. Christian leads the way down the tunnel curving to the far left. Confidently but cautiously he leads the way. He wasn't afraid of any man and wouldn't hesitate to prove it if tested.
"How did you know to go this way?" asks Charlie
"I just—I just have a feeling."
"What do you mean man? I don't get it."
Christian breaks out the mini flashlights.
"Didn't you bring a bigger flashlight than that?"
"It's a flashlight. It will do the same job."
"Okay."
Charlie nods his head.
"We're here to find Evey."
"I know man but what the hell is that smell?"
"I don't know."
They pinch their noses to try to keep out the steaming stench of human excrement as they trek through it.
"It's worse than something dead and it's like it's following us. Wait a minute." Says Charlie
He shines his flashlight on the floor.
"I think we're walking through shit man!" Charlie yells
"We need to keep quiet. If someone is down here we don't want them to know we're coming." Says Christian
"If they live here willingly then they can't have a nose." Says Charlie
The narrow passageway empties out into a larger room with two different rooms leading off of it. There is no waste on the ground so the floor is solid in this room.
"It's all over our shoes Christ! They can smell us coming." Says Charlie
"I don't care. We need to keep searching." Says Christian
"Don't suggest we split up." asks Charlie
"We don't know anything about this place. We stick together." Says Christian
"Well which way now?"
"To the right."
"Why the right?"
"If we keep making lefts we might just go in circles."
"We don't want to get lost either."
"I'll remember the turns." Says Christian
"Wait what's that sound?" asks Charlie
Christian freezes on the spot waiting to hear the sound. There's a light scratching coming from inside the room on the right. Christian points his gun out in front of him and enters the room slowly. He could kick himself for not bringing duct tape to secure the light on top of the gun. He couldn't worry about it now though. He keeps his finger on the trigger as he moves further into the room followed by Charlie. The light sweeps over the far wall. There are tattered old clothes, a pile of moth eaten luggage and a single pair of dentures laying in the dirt. Christian can hear Charlie gasp behind him. At the same time there is a shuffling coming from the opposite side of the room. Christian captures the source of the sound in his flashlight beam. It's a man with terrible posture, he is covered in filth from his head to his bare feet. His face droops down lower on one side than the other. His teeth are crooked and some broken. Christian is so taken back by this sight that it takes him a minute to gather himself enough to speak.
"Who are you?" he asks in a commanding tone
"Me…no hurt." Says the man
"What the hell are you doing down here?" asks Christian
"Me live." He says
"I don't fucking believe my eyes." Utters Charlie
"Who else is here?"
The man is silent.
"Where is she do you have her? Tell me now or you're dead!" says Christian as he cocks his gun
"We can't just shoot him man." Says Charlie
"Look at him. I'd be doing him a favor." Says Christian
Charlie steps ahead of Christian.
"Hey look mister deformed guy. We're looking for some girls that had a party out here in the dessert. I'm sure that since you live under the ground so close to where they had it you must have heard or seen something. Can you give us any information?" Says Charlie
"The girls….they…I can't go there they hurt me."
"Who hurt you?! The girls?" shouts Christian
"Calm down hold on." Says Charlie to Christian
"Do you know where the girls are that had the party outside?" asks Charlie
"Yes…"
"Show us right now!" says Christian
"Me can't go." He says
"Then I'll kill you." Says Christian
"Wait man! Give me a minute to talk to the guy." Says Charlie
"Fuck talking he knows where Evey is!" yells Christian
"I'm the one that got him to tell us this much. I know how you feel about Evey. Let me do this." Says Charlie
"Eve." Says Christian
"That's what I meant to say." Says Charlie
He turns back to the guy but he is gone from the spot and fleeing out of the room.
"I knew we couldn't trust that inbred fuck!" yells Christian
He chases after the man followed by Charlie. Halfway down another tunnel the guy turns a corner and disappears.
"Where the fuck did he go?" asks Christian pacing the area.
"How the hell should I know?"
"You're the one that told me not to shoot him!" Yells Christian
"Yeah because then how was he going to talk?!" shouts Charlie
"Well now he's gone. So he isn't talking to anybody." Says Christian
"Unless…." Starts Charlie
"Unless what?" asks Christian
"Unless he isn't alone."
"I'll kill him and his whole gang to get to Evey. I don't care how many. I'll shoot them down all day and all night" Says Christian mad with anger
"Wait no, I mean what if he wasn't talking about the girls hurting him but somebody else? That would explain why he ran away. He didn't want to be a snitch." asks Charlie
"I didn't come here to understand the brain of that thing or any others like him. If they have Evey here I will kill them all and blow this fucker up so that it buries alive any one that I miss." Says Christian
