Dimitri's POV
I turned my head and looked when the door burst open. I was surprised to see Mason Ashford standing there and Mia Rinaldi close behind him. Mason had a look on his face showing he felt the same way I did when seeing Rose helpless in the arms of a Moroi. Before the Moroi had time to react, Mason had him down on the ground, causing him to lose his hold and freeing all the guardians, Ivashkov, and myself. I hurried to the Moroi and pulled him up as Mason reluctantly released him. I dragged him out and to one of the SUVs, binding his wrists behind his back. "Who are you and what do you think you were doing to that girl?!" I demanded as I shoved him into the back seat of the SUV next to the unconscious Christian Ozera.
He just glared up at me, refusing to answer. I asked him again, but again there was no response. After several minutes of trying to get an answer out of him, I eventually had to give up and shut the door, leaving him restrained in the back seat, being watched by another guardian while I walked back to the cabin to see if Rose and Princess Dragomir were okay.
Mason's POV
I didn't want to let go of the Moroi. He'd hurt Rose and I wanted to make him pay. However, there was really nothing I could do when Guardian Belikov came and pulled him away. He dragged him out while I walked on my knees quickly to see if Rose was okay. I lifted her off the floor and held up her head, making sure to keep my hands and eyes away from her body. In everything that was happening, I sure didn't want her thinking I was some kind of pervert who would take advantage of this terrible situation. "Rose... Please say something. Please open your eyes. Talk to me." I begged, hoping with all my heart that she wasn't gone. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes as I gently shook her, trying to wake her up.
I nearly jumped out of my skin when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned slowly to see Guardian Belikov looking down at me. I was surprised to see so much emotion on his usually solid face. He wasn't even bothering with the guardian cover and all his sadness and fear was right on display. However he did try to keep his voice as calm as possible.
"Mr. Ashford. I know you are upset and scared for her. We need to get her back and get her looked at. There's not much we can do for her here."
I turned back to look at Rose again and closed my eyes as I nodded and stood up. I took a step back and let the guardians pick her up and wrap her in a towel as they carried her out and sat her in one of the SUVs. I could feel the anger building up in me as well as the guilt. This was all my fault. If I had not run off to look for strigoi, she wouldn't have gone to Christian for help. None of this might've happened. I clenched my fists in anger. Either way, my fault or not, I was going to take responsibility. I was gonna make him pay.
Sorry this took so long and sorry it's so short. I will try to get updates up quicker. Been kinda addicted to roleplaying and watching Buffy and Angel lately and lost the flow of writing. I will try to get back to writing. In the mean time, reviews are greatly appreciated. In fact, they're encouraged. :p
