NIGHTWING's POV.
Previously on NIGHTWING: boy was I in trouble...
We all but ran to the roof, just in time to see a justice league jet land and 7 very angry looking superheroes walk out of the JL jet.
I took into account who all had come to get the team: Superman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Flash, Aquaman, Canary and Wonder Woman.
Then I saw a black mini jet land on the leftover space on the helipad. My only thought was 'Awe Crap...'
Batman.
I had had a brief moment when I hoped that maybe because he didn't have an apprentice on the team, that maybe he wouldn't come. But then again, he is the mission giver, he probably had to come.
But he wasn't the only one to get out of the Bat-plane. Or should I say jump out.
2 more people got out of the plane also.
One in black and yellow and one in black and red.
They walked over to stand by batman and looked at the titans warily, especially me. Maybe it was my reputation for not liking the league.
The team were looking at the two newcomers shocked and at me worriedly.
I couldn't blame them. It looked like the Bat family worked like hydra, one leaves, two take its place.
And by the genders, costumes and the fact that I knew who that red hair belonged to, there was only one option to who they were.
Batgirl and Robin.
Now Batgirl only surprised me by being here, Barbara had been training for the role when I left. But Robin on the other hand well, I knew Jason took over for me a short while when I was recovering from another injury before but that was temporary. This one looked like a replacement. And that stung a little.
But I couldn't act hurt. The league couldn't know it was me. That would be a disaster.
So I sucked it up and settled for glaring viciously at the league, when, really, it was tearing me up to see them all. The people I thought of as uncles and aunts were now looking at me with distrust.
Batman walked over to Aqualad, asking the question that I hoped the team would not answer truthfully.
"Why did you come here?"
Aqualad spared a glance at the whole team. He seemed to try to think of an excuse, M'gann seemed to find one.
"I asked to come. Garfield is the boy I gave my blood to on that mission. When I learned his mother died, I chose to come visit him to make sure he was with good people."
J'onn looked at his niece with understanding. I guess he realized how sentimental she was.
"But, M'gann, why did you all not tell the league. Red tornado, or even Mr. Marvel."
Artemis came up with a good enough idea.
"We left a note, maybe Wolf ate it."
Superboy looked a little offended at the accusation his dog was receiving but luckily kept his mouth shut.
The league seemed to accept this excuse. All accept the Bat family and I knew the fact that they didn't believe the story would bite us in the butt. Especially mine.
After it was settled why the team was here, the leagues attention fell onto us. And since they knew I was the leader, inadvertently their attention fell onto me.
Flash, being the friendly guy he was, tried to be nice. Even though the rest of the league was looking at me accusingly for some unknown reason.
"So, uh who are all you guys?"
My guys went in a line introducing themselves. A little shakily I might add because of the looks we were getting.
"Cyborg"
"Starfire"
"Beast Boy"
"Raven"
When it got to be my turn I was scared to speak. I mean what if the recognized my voice. A sharp nudge from Raven helped that.
"Nightwing"
Wonder Woman was next.
"So, were did all of you children come from. I never knew there were so many super-powered kids out there."
"I was the princess of Tameran; I was captured by the Guardanians when I crash landed on the planet Earth. That was the night the titans formed."
"I was in a car accident, my father used technology he was working on to enhance me so I could stay alive. I was hiding around until these guys found me."
"I was the kid from Qurac, I got a disease that my mom used some cure she was studying to cure me, but it was meant for animals and got these powers. After my mom died I went onto the doomsday patrol until I left and met these guys."
"I'm from Azarath, half demon half human. You don't need to know any more."
Again it was my turn, and this time I had no idea what to say. Everyone's attention was on me now. The team and titans because they were worried at what I would or wouldn't say and the league because I knew they tried to hack my system to find out about me but they couldn't, so if Bat's can't hack something it proved I had past training.
I swallowed, took a deep breath and started, "I…"
