Chapter 14

*beep…beep….beep*

The annoying sound of the heart monitor filled a small private room at the local Odiba hospital, not putting many minds at ease.

*Beep…Beep…Beep*

Two boy's stood at the side of the brunette girls bed, covered in blood, both held anger but guilt in their hearts, the Red haired held more, hurt, sadness, his eye's was blood shot from crying, seeing the girl looking lifeless in the bed. Hooked up the machines, blood transfusion, oxygen mask and more, making the girl in the bed look small. He reached out and placed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

*Beep…Beep…Beep*

An older brunette boy was sat beside the bed holding the girls hand close to him, his own eye's was blood shot, thinking back on how he had found out about this.

Flash back

He had heard struggling inside his apartment, and the door was broken off it's hinges, when he had ran into the apartment, he saw almost everything destroyed, blood splatter was everywhere in the house, down the hallway, from his sisters bedroom all the way to the living room, when he walked into the living room, he saw a blonde boy restraining his mother, arms behind her back, anger in her eye's.

The red haired boy on the other side of the room, holding pressure on his sister, crying, begging her to stay away, he could hear the strain in the boy's voice but he had to voice out. "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?" the red haired boy looked back for a second but then went back to the girl he was trying to save, "KARI!" Tai had rushed over and began helping Davis with his sister, but what got his heart the most was the words from his mother, "Just let the bitch die! She needs to die! Hahaha, about time too!"

Tai looked over to his mother who had a mad mans grin, but T.K pulled his hand back, hitting her in the back of her neck, knocking the woman out cold. Not long after paramedics filled the apartment, loading both women up onto the stretcher rolling them out, police asking the boy's questions, to which Davis and T.K Replied they heard a scream and once they was able to get the door open, they saw stab Kari in the abdominal with the carving knife, as to where T.K Tackled the woman off and Davis was trying to stop the bleeding before Tai walked into the house.

End of flashback

Tai looked up to both boy's, "Thank you…" he whispered, both boy's nodded as T.K rolled up his sleeves and patted Tai on the shoulder, "I'm just glad we didn't get there any later than we did…. Otherwise things would have turned out differently….i'm sorry about your mother Tai."

Tai shook his head, sighing, "she's not my mother, she's our step mother, I never knew how to tell Kari that our biological one walked out on us, I never thought any of this would happen. I never knew… for the past week, I've been going to sleep instantly after dinner, with Gatomon next to me, I never knew…" Davis shook his head, "none of us did…. I had an idea something was going on, but when she broke up with me I was being too much of an arse to even notice she gave me the documents, and told me that the woman was Sho's sister…. But I didn't do anything!"

Tai just smiled, "You was grieving man, I can understand that, Dad said he'd be here as fast as possible but … I think he's making a detour to the police station first. I don't blame him either, after finding out your wife is siblings to a rapist and then that same wife tried to kill your daughter."

Both boy's nodded, "Go home you two, get cleaned up and then come back ok? If she wakes up I'll contact you both immediately," T.K Smiled, "I've already got that covered, Matt and Jun are bringing over fresh clothing, I called him just after the police left, and lets just say he was angry that he never got a shot at the woman, and also that I interrupted his date with Jun" Tai couldn't help but laugh, "Alright then, I'm going to go get some coffee. This could be a long night" with that T.K left the room.

Davis walked forward and sat at the other side of the bed, he took Kari's hand and gently kissed it, "Davis, don't feel guilty ok? This is a third time you've saved her life an I'm very grateful because I wasn't there at either of them. I'm not her protector anymore" Davis looked to the boy, he took in a deep breath until they heard a small voice.

"the….last thing you saved me from Tai …. Was scratching myself to death from … chicken pox." They both looked to the bed, to see Kari's brown eye's open, slightly, "Can someone turn on the fucking colour, white's too bland." That was it both boy's laughed and hugged the girl.

"Hey… hey… I'm an injured patient here! Hug any tighter and I'll be in a coma!" "Don't say that sis! I seriously thought lost you this time!" they both pulled back, and helped the girl sit up, "Well you know what they say, third time lucky, Tai… could you give me and Davis some time alone?" her voice was soft, it held some innocence she use to have. He nodded and kissed her forehead, "Sure, I'll go see if I can find the doctor."

With that Tai left the room.

Silence fell the room, until "Kari…" "Davis.." they both blushed but Davis just smiled, "beautiful ladies first." Kari chuckled tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "Thank you Davis… and I'm … sorry, for everything, the break up, more secrets. This! I didn't want you hurt I" he silenced her by kissing her once again, not long after he broke apart, "I'm the one who's sorry Kari, I should have known what you was hinting I should have known when you selfharmed again. The distance we put between each other this past week, I'm just glad your still with us. When I saw you like that… so much blood my own heart stopped in fact your own heart stopped twice on the way here!"

Kari looked down at the sheets, "But you came back to us, you came back to me an that's the most important thing. An this time I'm making sure you don't leave my side apart from bathroom and shower breaks!" Kari couldn't help but laugh. "I love you Kari and I mean that." She nodded "I love you too Davis." They leaned in and kissed again.

The make out session lasted a good few minutes until, "AS much as I'm happy your both forgiven and back together, Davis get your freaking lips off my sister!" again laughter was filled the room, "Oh go find Sora and kiss her Tai, I know you want too" She stuck her tongue out. So Tai did something back to her and stuck up his finger, "Fuck you Kari,"

Kari just grinned, "sorry but no incest bro, Davis should be the one that fucks me." Tai and Davis jaw dropped as she laughed until she had to hold her wounds. "Seriously that's just …. Sick, I find out that you've both done it, I'm killing you Davis." Davis paled and nodded.

1 week later.

Kari had been released from the hospital, and was currently staying at Sora's place, the Kamiya apartment had been taped off by the police for investigations, which made Kari sigh, she was stuck wearing Sora's old blue jeans, but a black button up sleeve dress shirt that Davis had given her, she had buttoned it up to just above her chest, and around her neck was a black chocker with a pink crescent moon. Davis had bought her the necklace a few day's prior as a make up present.

She was currently sat in Sora's kitchen as her mother was making tea, It had made the young girl nervous due to events of her own step mother and what had happened, but so far the older woman had made no movements to hurt the girl. Sora's mother was a very kind person, just over protective of Sora. "Here you go Sweetie, how's your injuries today? Do you need help with the bandages again?"

Kari shook her head and smiled softly, "No I'm okay today, Sora helped me this morning before she went to college, I just wish I could wear my own clothing." The older woman smiled slightly, "Well how about after we finish our coffee we go shopping ok? An you can tell me all about how close my daughter and your brother are getting." Sora's mother had been shocked about when Sora told her what had happened to the young Kamiya girl, and instantly volunteered to watch over Kari as Kari's father was currently out searching for the girls biological mother. It was a sudden hit of news, but now he knew the reasons why the woman left, he wanted to make things right with her.

Kari smiled and nodded, "I'd love to tell you all their little secrets, but I think Sora would kill me if I let out too much information, and quite frankly, I'd hate to go through near death a 4th time."

The older woman thought about it, "Well what she doesn't know won't harm anyone, you go back to school tomorrow right? We don't want to send you back wearing a boy's shirt anyway. When's the trial date again?"

Kari blinked, and smiled, "next Tuesday at 11am. It's sad really, jealously and anger over money. Miku was planning on killing my father while they was on the business trip, and Sho was suppose to get rid of me and Tai, but his plan went wrong when he didn't kill me straight away."

The front door opened as they was talking and Sora walked in giving both her mother and Kari a hug, "Tai's going to be here soon, he just has to run a few things for the football team I swear his heads full of footballs" Kari laughed as she sipped her liquid "Half day at college?" Sora nodded "Yeah cause there's a big game tonight. You going Kari?" Kari shook her head and smiled, "I have a date of my own to keep, Davis is taking me out but I don't exactly know where."

They nodded and once all the coffee was gone, the girls headed out, just as Tai was walking in, "Where you girls going?" "Shopping!" he groaned and waved them off.
