~Little Tooth~

Chapter 14

"Ow~!"

Jamie and Sophie looked back at Baby Tooth, who had run face-first into the side of a doorway. After a few seconds, Baby Tooth looked at them. Her face and cheek was red, but she looked alright.

"You okay?" Sophie asked.

"Yep!" Baby Tooth smiled.

"Amazing!" Jamie laughed and the three started back at playing their game.

The three were playing like young children, laughing 'n all. It's been awhile and the three have been spending a ton of time together. Right now they were at Jamie's temporary Savannah house, which was huge compared to Oliver's small home. Christmas was coming around the corner and the last weeks of school before winter break were approaching.

"Be careful running up the stairs!" Jamie's mother called.

"Okay!" Baby Tooth smiled back while running after the siblings, whom were running up the stairs.

"Um! Toothiana, sweetie?"

The three stopped, turning to look at the woman. Baby Tooth walked over and Jamie and Sophie watched with curiosity. Mrs. Bennett held a tooth up with her thin fingers. Baby Tooth looked at it with curiosity.

"Is this your's?"

Baby tooth's eyes widen as she searched her mouth with her tongue to find anything missing. There was a tooth missing! In it's place was a hole and some liquid, which she decided was blood. Baby Tooth reached out for the tooth, and Mrs. Bennett placed it in her hands.

"Take care of that." She was told.

"Thank you!"

Baby Tooth ran up stairs with Jamie and Sophie, the three wondering into the shared bedroom of the siblings. Baby Tooth sat on the bed, staring at the tooth. Her tooth. Sophie and Jamie stared at it too, and there was a long silence.

"Your mouth is still bleeding." Jamie pointed out the red stream falling to Baby Tooth's chin.

"I'll go get a wash cloth!" Sophie said and ran into the bathroom, grabbing a wash cloth and soaking it with water. She returned and handed it to Baby Tooth.

"So, like, will one of your siblings come for the tooth?" Jamie asked.

Baby Tooth looked at Jamie with a small smile.

"Maybe she'll recognize me."

Baby Tooth sat in her bed, the tooth in the palm of her hands. Her lamp was on, but other then that, it was maybe 12 at night. She had not gone to sleep at all. She was waiting for her sister. One of them.

"Why is her light sti-" Oliver walked in the room, only to see she was still awake. "What are you doing awake? Lucky you don't have school tomorrow."

Baby Tooth looked at her father, her eyes hardly even heavy. "I'm waiting for the tooth fairy."

Oliver chuckled, a smile on his face. "She doesn't come unless you sleep, silly."

"Oh..." Baby Tooth sighed.

"Now get going. You need sleep." Oliver smiled, turned off the lamp, and left.

Baby Tooth looked back at the tooth in her hands. Mother would know it was her's anyway, right? She gave up and placed it on the side table next to her bed. She then turned in her blankets and tried to sleep.

"Appercorn, 230, Austria!"

"Felix, 901, Sweden!"

"Turn berry, 300, America!"

Tooth was in such a busy state, calling out as many addresses as she possibly could. Today was a busy day, and it seemed the whole Tooth palace was under weight. Tooth's eyes wondered, looking at all the working little tooths as she called place names. She watched them place teeth in containers. She watched them organize, and even some head off to their break. She watched many fly off and many fly back.

However, her eye caught one. One was flying around the North American column with a tooth, looking for a slot. It seemed the little one could not find a place to put the tooth. Tooth took a deep breath and headed over there, the little tooth looking up at her mother.

"What's the matter?"

The little one squeaked, but Tooth understood it all.

"You can't find a slot for this child?" Tooth asked. "Give it to me. Will you take my spot at the directing?"

The baby tooth smiled, handed her mother the strange tooth, and flew off after saluting. Tooth held the small tooth.

"It's not a baby tooth. It's one of a teen, I believe." Tooth looked at it, not knowing what to thing. A name came to mind. This happened to all new teeth.

"Toothiana Time." Tooth then giggled. "What an odd name for a human child."

Tooth began to look for Toothiana's tooth capsule. She looked and looked, but couldn't find it. She stared down at the tooth again. This has never happened before. The tooth looked so clean, she could possibly compare it to Jack Frost's teeth. Tooth stroked the tooth with her finger, checking for any for of dust, but what she got from that was something only she could get by stoking her own human teeth.

A request to look at the memories.

Tooth gasped. How could she look at some random human child's memories. If she did this to any other child's tooth, she'd get nothing. But here is a tooth that isn't hers with memories she is allowed to see!? The only possibly answer was that this tooth was from a close CLOSE blood relative, but other then her little teeth, she didn't have any. She wasn't human. The only thing Tooth could do to answer her confusion was to look into the tooth's memories. She obliged to the request, and her mind was taken over.

"You mean...I'm supposed to understand this!?"

"Haha yeah. I mean, you want to pass, right?"

The girl, Toothiana, looked down at the paper infront of her. Math Homework. Hard Math Homework. She looked up at a boy, whom Tooth realized was Jamie Bennett.

"Well, you have to use substitution first. Find the Y-intersect and then plug it into the second equation." Jamie explained, pointing at the problem with the pen in his hand.

"That's what I did, but I got the question wrong anyway."

"Well, you carried over the y and you are supposed to carry over the x. That and you don't seem to understand negatives." Jamie sighed.

"Yeah! Anti-math club!"

Sophie, who sat next to Toothiana, held up her hand and Toothiana hit it back. A high-five. The two girls laughed and Jamie gave another sight with a smile.

"Sophie and Baby Tooth." He chuckled. "Idiots forever~!"

"Hey!" Sophie said, but Baby Tooth just laughed lightly.

The memory ended, and within seconds, Tooth was on her way to the North Pole.

"I seriously need that orange paint though, North." Bunnymund sighed, following the big man around the floors of the work shop.

"Well I need it too, Bunny."

As the two bickered, Jack Frost sat on North's big, red chair, painting an egg blue and using his powers to place a layer of decorative frost on it's shell. He personalty thought he'd like Easter better if this was what all the eggs looked like. It was just another day. Jack had all his work done, and decided he could let a few towns frost-free for a few more hours. BunnyMund had dropped by to borrow some extra paint, and North was doing a great job handling all the gifts.

"Hey!"

Tooth flew in through the opened window, looking out of breath. This freaked the three out and they ran to her side as fast as possible. Tooth caught her breath before talking. Her feathers were cold and tinted with snow and frost.

"I think -breath- I found – breath- Baby Tooth!"

The three looked surprised and highly interested.

"Should I get Sandy!?" Jack asked.

"Put your hand on the tooth!" Tooth ignored Jack. "I can transfer the memory to you!"

The three did as told, each holding out a finger, or paw, to touch the small tooth. Using her powers, Tooth tired hard to channel the memory to her fellow guardians. This would take up all her strength, and with Sandy would surely put her out, but she did it none the less. The Memory was played inside the heads of the three, Jack, Bunny, and North. After a minute, they snapped back into reality. Jack was the first to start jumping around.

"J-JAMIE! SOPHIE! BABY TOOTH!" He had a grin that spread from one ear to the next.

"I KNOW!" Tooth smiled.

"We found them! Her!" North smiled.

"Now what!?" Bunny asked.

Tooth turned to Bunny. "This tooth was collected from Savannah, Ga, America. If we search there, we can find all three of the kids!"

"Well then lets go!" Jack was already heading towards the door.

"Bunny will go get Sandy!" North smiled.

"Not this time, mate. It's your turn!" Bunny raced down one of his holes, already heading towards Savannah. With Jack and Tooth gone within seconds, North was left to find Sandy with not a choice otherwise.

Jack Swept through the streets of Savannah, the moon's light filling the dark night time sky. The street lights shined as well, but Jack was pulled right past them by the wind. He didn't know where to start, seeing as through Savannah was such a large city. It was pretty thought, and he could see many different squares that all looked wonderful. He made his way to a slightly less crowded part of town, where he landed on the sidewalk.

He let his staff swing from his hands as he walked, leaving slightly frosted over pavement as footprints. He stopped when he saw a dog run towards him. Sometimes animals could see the guardins, although most times they could only smell their scent. He smiled, but the smile went away when he noticed the dog wasn't running to play with him, but something had frighted him.

"Hey..."

The dog ran around Jack, then rubbed his head against Jack's hand. A bit of frost covered the fur, but the dog didn't seem to mind. It had a thick, brown coat and it seemed the temperature drop didn't change a thing. Jack realized that the dog was trying to lead him somewhere.

"What's going on?"

Jack followed the dog, who took the frost spirit about a block and a half down the street. Then the dog turned and went behind a large building, running up a small hill and into a forest. Jack stopped to look at the building. It was old and looked almost like it was going to fall down. He looked around the corner to see an old sign.

"Little Apple Orphanage?" Jack questioned and then followed the dog again.

He pushed his way up into the forest behind the Orphanage, the Wind helping him up the unexpectedly steep hill. There, he found the dog and the worst stench you could ever think of. It was a stale stench, but scents are better picked up from spirits and animals then humans, no matter how old or new it is.

The dog watched Jack look around for the cause. Jack looked put at the trees, even flying into them, and then started to investigate the ground. He pushed leaves away, scattered through bushes. He stopped when he found something peculiar. He used his staff to pick up some odd cloth from the ground. Holding it up, he realized it was a dress. It was an old dress, and would fit a 10 year old.

Thinking nothing bad of it, and knowing the stench didn't come from that, he continued to look. He found a journal with wet, rotten papers. He dared to look inside, only to find drawings. Drawings of a place, so called "Wonderland". That's what he read in the journal. There was a name, but he couldn't read it for it was washed off. He concluded that all this stuff must have been laying around for well over a few years.

The dog barked and Jack looked over to see a stump in a hole. The dog baked away from it's dug up dirt and let Jack inspect. Jack poked at what looked like bone. He pushed leaves and more dirt out of the way only to find that there were more bones. The dog dug up more, and in perfect order, The two found a set of bones.

Bones of a young child.

Jack looked amazed. Shocked. He stopped, and you'd think he had frozen. You'd think his heart stopped beating. The dog ran away and Jack was left in front of the bones of a child. Jack looked around, his head weak and his arms trembling. What was he supposed to do!? He was a guardian in front of a dead child! The wind brushed past his hair and suddenly he did what the wind told him. He had to alert human authorities, for the guardians could do nothing about this. Jack flew out of the three, the wind landing him next to the orphanage. Jack ran to the sidewalk, stopped when he saw what he needed.

Looking up at the building, stood a man. He a coat on and a hood over his head, but Jack saw the man had brown hair. He looked about 20. Very young. Jack had to get the man's attention, and with the wind's help, lead him to the forest. Jack jumped in the air and flew around the man, the wind and magic pushing the man to turn. The man gasped. Jack jumped out of sight and did this again. The man realized he was being pushed towards the side of the building.

"What the hell!?" He looked confused.

"Come on." Jack whispered, and the man tensed.

"Who's there!?"

If Wind was a person, Jack would have looked at him. Did that human just hear him? Maybe it was the man thinking someone was pushing him. Continuing his "games", the man soon realized he was being shown the back of the building. Going along cautiously, the man began to follow on his own. Jack and the Wind had to keep him on the track, but in less then 5 minutes, they reached the crime scene. Jack hid in the trees as he watched the man.

The man was silent as he saw the clothing and the journal.

"These are...these belong to..."

As the man's eyes locked onto the child's corpse, tears began to fall. Jack watched, surprised.

"Alyss!" The man cried over the corpse. "Alyss..."

Jack felt frightened again as he watched the young man's hands form fists out of anger and then go weak in sorrow. His own heart felt heavy and sad when the man spoke in a voice that seems familiar, only because it seemed like his.

"What...what have they done to you?"
