Chapter 14: A Pawn's Move
Eclipsa was walking down the streets of Heartland City with a smile on her face as she just won a new Number card. "Master of Blades, could come in handy sooner or later in battle." Eclipsa then walked past an alley way when she was shoved down to the ground.
"Get out of the way bitch!" One of the guys said. All of the guys were thugs running like hell from something.
"Stupid dicks." Eclipsa uttered.
"Need a hand?" A male voice said.
Eclipsa looked up and saw the person who said that. It was a blonde late teenager in black clothing outstretching his hand towards Eclipsa, and knew exactly who he was, Kite Tenjo. 'Son of a bitch! It's too early in the plan for a confrontation!' Eclipsa thought.
"Here." Kite said as he grabbed Eclipsa's hand and helped her up. "Sorry about that."
"Those guys were just a bunch of cowards!" The robot next to Kite said, which freaked out Eclipsa.
Kite then saw a card on the ground. "Is this yours?" Kite reached for the card with his right hand.
Eclipsa then panicked. "No! Wait!" But she was too late, Kite picked up the card and read it, realizing what it was.
"This…This is a Number card?!" Kite said. 'This girl could have more!' Kite thought. "Orbital! Activ-"
Eclipsa reacted quickly and toke her first two fingers on each hand and hit Kite's arm in specific places, causing it to go limp and Kite to drop the card.
"What the?!" Kite said as he lost all feeling in his arm, then Eclipsa kicked him in the shoulder bald of the same arm with her heel, knocking him to the ground.
"Master Kite!" Orbital 7 said. He then faced the girl, who took the Number and shoved it in her shirt. "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THAT!" Orbital said as his arms turned into a drill and tried to hit her with it.
Eclipsa jumped right before she was hit, jumping over 20 feet and on the other side of the block on a street lamp with perfect balance. Then she jumped again, this time twirling to the left until she was over a building, landing perfectly again.
"Who is that?" Kite said.
Orbital then scanned Kite's arm. "Oh my. This girl hit your arm in very precise nerve locations, essentially paralyzing your arm. But thankfully this paralysis is only temporary! It should go away in a couple of hours." Orbital informed Kite. He then turned into his glider mode and locked Kite in.
"What are you doing Orbital?" Kite asked Orbital as they were taking flight.
"Master Kite, with your arm paralyzed you can't Duel! So until it's better, I think it's best you catch up on that rest you desperately need." Orbital said as they flew over the building that Eclipsa landed on, but she wasn't there anymore.
It was an hour after the showdown between Astral and the Astral Being Estrella. They hadn't left the park, in fact hadn't even left the same bench.
"Yuma, we have been sitting here for an hour now. What's wrong?" Astral asked.
"Nothing it's just that…" Yuma was interrupted by Astral.
"That your friend, me, comes from a world that is currently trying to destroy another world." Astral said.
"No, it's not that." Yuma exhaled. "It's just, these Number cards are causing quit a lot of trouble. First it was the Barians brainwashing people. Then we find Kite, who's method of removing Numbers leaves people as old raisins. Then poor Amber is dragged in a battle between the two. And now we have deal with like six or more people who have these 'Crests' which removes Numbers. And as of an hour ago, we are now on Astral World's radar!" Yuma said.
Astral smiled. "And with all that you still stick by me. While my experience with other humans isn't as extensive as yours, I can say for certain that you are a special person for stay with me through all this! This is why I'm proud to call you my friend." Astral said.
Yuma smiled. "Yeah, a lot of people would have turned tail and run!" Yuma laughed. "And for what it's worth, I'm proud to call you my friend too Astral."
"So come on Yuma. The more Number we collect, the more we can keep out of the hands of our enemies, and decrease the number of victims that could fall prey to Kite, the Barians, and the Crest bearers." Astral said.
"And the more memories you can recover." Yuma said. "Who knows, maybe the next Number card we get will have the identity of those with the Crests!" Yuma said hopefully. Then Yuma heard a cry of pain. "What was that?" Yuma said.
Astral floated up high, high enough to see where the cries where coming from. He then came back to Yuma and pointed to the right. "That way." Astral said.
"Okay." Yuma started to run to in the direction Astral pointed to. He couldn't believe what he saw. It was Pro Duelist Devon Knox winning a Duel.

Devon's Turn:
Devon laughed. "You all are doomed! See, Ben Kei can attack one additional time for each equipped spell! And with two equipped spells, I get to attack three times! GO BEN KEI!" Devon's multi weaponed monster slashed each of its opponents several time, send the people back.
Opponent 1: 150 – 2100 = 0 (LOSE)
Opponent 2: 100 – 2100 = 0 (LOSE)
Opponent 3: 200 – 2100 = 0 (LOSE)
WINNER: Devon
Devon then walked up to his three opponents and took two Heart Pieces from each person. Then he walked towards three teenagers, one girl and two boys. "Here kids." He handed the Heart Pieces to the three teens.
"Thanks Mr. Knox!" The girl said.
"Yeah, those guys rigged their decks so they always drew the perfect cards!" One of the boys said.
"They should be disqualified!" The other boy said.
"I agree. Luckily there are those like me who punish the cheaters!" Devon said. "Now, go have fun in the tournament." Devon said to the teens. He then turned towards his defeated opponents. "You three are lucky. You only rigged your deck, but not your cards."
"What the Hell are you talking about?" One of the guys said.
"Certain monsters, like Numbers, give Duelists an unfair advantage!" Devon said.
"Did he just say 'Numbers'?!" Yuma and Astral exclaimed.
"Lucky for you, all you did was cheat! Now get lost before I decide to some real damage!" Devon said. The thugs heeded his words and ran away.
"Whoa." Yuma said.
"I know you're there." Devon said.
"Crap." Yuma said. He walked out and stood in front of Devon. "Hi." Yuma said awkwardly.
"What do you want kid." Devon said in a kind, yet also hostile voice.
"Well…" Yuma look at Astral, who looked at him back.
"What are you looking at? And why haven't you answered my question?!" Devon said in a more hostile tone.
"Okay, okay!" Yuma said. "It's Numbers."
That caught Devon's attention. "Did you just say 'Numbers'?!"
"Yes, you mentioned Numbers." Yuma inhaled. "Do you have any?!" Yuma said that last part in a hurry. He was intimidated by Devon due to his Pro Duelist status.
Devon didn't respond, just stood there silently. In his eye a Crest appeared in his pupil.
Back with Eclipsa her Crest glowed on her chest. "Oh my! It seems one of my Pawns has found a Number." Eclipsa put her hand next to her eye and it glowed, also her Crest appeared in its pupil. "Oh my it seems Yuma's gotten himself into trouble again." She tapped her finger against her head. "While Devon is not nearly as skilled as Terra, he's won almost as many tournaments, so he'll have the skills to take out those Numbers." Eclipsa then chuckled. "Especial after that card I gave him!"
Back with Devon and Yuma, Yuma and Astral were incredibly confused with the motionless Devon. "Yuma, is it possible that you broke him?" Astral said.
"It doesn't work that way Astral, but there is something wrong here." Yuma said.
Devon the growled and shot out a Duel Anchor that attached to Yuma's arm.
"Oh no!" Astral said as he knew what was happening next.
"Yuma Tsukamo, you and I will Duel for your Numbers!" Devon said in an echoing voice and dark energy surrounded his body.
"Hold on, I never gave this guy my name!" Yuma said as the Duel Anchor vanished.
Astral gasped. "Yuma, the last time someone challenged us for the Numbers was…"
"The Student Council President back when he was under the control of the Barians!" Yuma finished Astral's sentence. "That means he's under the Barians' control!"
"Enough talk, let's get this Duel underway so I can take your Numbers for my master!" Devon readied his orange Duel Disk.
"Alright. It's not like I have a choice anyway!" Yuma said as he geared up. "Duel Gazer. Let's roll!" Yuma placed his Duel Gazer on, and Devon's left eye turned red instead of putting on a Duel Gazer, just like all the others who were brainwashed by the Barians, yet strangely he didn't have the Barian symbol on his forehead like the others.

"LET'S DUEL!" Both of them said.
On a building with a view of the park, Eclipsa was watching the Duel with her tattoo on. "Perfect! If Devon beats Yuma here and now, he won't have to face me or the others!" Eclipsa said with a chuckle.
"I'll go first! I draw!" Devon drew his card. "Now let's see?" Devon looked at his hand and smiled. 'There's no way I can lose with the card master gave me!'. "By halving its attack points I can Normal Summon out the Level 8 Coach Captain Bearman without tributing any monsters!" Devon summoned out a large grizzly bear with silver armor and red sun glasses. It also stood on its hind legs, swinging its large claws and roaring loudly.
Coach Captain Bearman: Level 8/FIRE/Beast-Warrior/1300 Atk (Original due to effect, previously 2600 Atk)/2700 Def
"And then I'll put a card face down and end my turn." Devon did just that.
"Be careful Yuma. Devon wouldn't lower his monster's attack points without a good reason. Plus, he mentioned master, mean he most certainly works for the Barians." Astral warned.
"Okay, here goes. I draw!" Yuma took his card. "Alright! I summon out Gagaga Magician!" Yuma summoned the monster he just drew. It was his signature Spellcaster, the silver haired Gagaga Magician.
Gagaga Magicial: Level 4/DARK/Spellcaster/1500 Atk/1000 Def
"And now I activate the spell Double Summon! This card allows me to Normal Summon twice in a single turn! So I summon Gagaga Girl!" Yuma brought out the best friend of Gagaga Magician, Gagaga Girl. She giggled as she stood next to Magician.
Gagaga Girl: Level 3/DARK/Spellcaster/1000 Atk/800 Def
"Yuma, I advise we take out Devon before he has the chance to summon his Chaos Xyz!" Astral said.
"Don't worry Astral, I'm all over it!" Yuma said as he made his move. "Until the end of the turn Gagaga Magician can use his magical powers to change his Level to any Level between 1 and 8! And I choose 8!" The circles on Gagaga Magician's belt glowed as his Level increased.
Magician: Level 8
"And now I activate the spell Gagaga Thunder!" As Yuma played the spell, a large metallic outline of the Gagaga symbol appeared between Gagaga Magician and Girl. "This card deals you damage equal to the difference between Gagaga Magician's and Gagaga Girl's Levels times 300!"
"Oh no!" Devon said. Electricity crackled in the metal, then the electricity hit Devon sending him flying and dealing heavy damage to his Life Points.
Devon: 4000 – 5 x 300 = 2500
"Ugh!" Devon said as he stood up.
Eclipsa was pulling a curious face. "Interesting. I may have to give Yuma more credit." Eclipsa said to herself.
"Now time for part two!" Yuma played a duo of wand spells. "First I activate the spell Wonder Wand!" The first spell manifested as a wand with a green orb on top. "By equipping this spell onto Gagaga Girl, she gains 500 attack points!" Gagaga Girl grabbed the wand and powered up.
Girl Atk: 1000 + 500 = 1500
"And now I equip my second spell Bound Wand onto Gagaga Magician! And this card gives my Magician an extra 100 attack points for each Level he has! And with 8 Levels, my Magician gains a whopping 800 attack points!" Gagaga Magician held a wand with a red crystal on the top.
Magician Atk: 1500 + 8 x 100 = 2300
"Oh no!" Eclipsa said as she saw what was about to happen next. "Argh! If Devon doesn't turn this around like now, this over before it even begins!"
"Gagaga Girl, destroy Bearman! Gagagacharge!" Yuma ordered his monster. She rushed towards Bearman and blasted it with magic from her wand.
Devon: 2500 – 200 = 2300
"And now Gagaga Magician will finish you off! Gagaga Magician-"
"Not so fast!" Devon said. "I activate the trap Coach Reimbursement!" His trap showed a figure in a coach's uniform standing in front of three Beast-type monsters sitting on a sport's bench, and is gesturing one to 'head into the game'. "Since you destroyed my Fire Beast-Warrior monster, I can send another one from my hand to the Graveyard to summoned it back! I send Level 4 Coach Soldier Kangaroopunch to the Graveyard to revive Coach Captain Bearman!" As soon as Devon sent the card to his Graveyard, the portal opened and Bearman came out all juiced up.
Bearman: 2600 Atk
"Since it was revived from the Graveyard its attack points returned to normal, now surpassing both our monsters." Astral said.
"Sorry Yuma, but now your monsters are useless! And now you have no cards left in your hand either!" Devon taunted.
Yuma smiled. "Not exactly! See Wonder Wand has an additional effect! By sending both it and Gagaga Girl to the Graveyard I get to draw 2 cards!" Yuma's monster destroyed herself and his deck glowed. "I draw!" Yuma drew his cards and smiled. "And now I end things with a face down!" Yuma did this, meaning his Gagaga Magician would lose attack points.
Magician: Level 4
Magician Atk: 2300 – 100 x 4 = 1900
"Now I draw!" Devon drew his card. "I play the spell Bear's Boot Camp! Since I control Bearman, I get to summon Coach Soldier Wolfbark directly from my deck!" A humanoid wolf howled on the field, it had blue and yellow body armor and wore blue ski goggles.
Coach Soldier Wolfbark: Level 4/FIRE/Beast-Warrior/1600 Atk/1200 Def
"And now I activate Wolfbark's special ability! It allows me to summon Coach Soldier Kangaroopuch form the Graveyard in defense mode!" The Graveyard portal opened and a kangaroo with silver and red body armor and a gold helmet with back glasses hopped on the battle field.
Coach Soldier Kangaroopunch: Level 4/FIRE/Beast-Warrior/1200 Atk/1600 Def
"Yuma, he now has three monster on the field!" Astral said, knowing what was gonna happen.
"And now it's time to use Coach Captain Bearman's ability! It double's the Level of all my monsters!" Bearman did some moves and Woldbark and Kangaroopunch copied them.
Kangaroopunch and Wolfbark: Level 8
"Three Level 8 monsters?!" Yuma exclaimed.
"Now I Overlay my Level 8 Bearman, Wolfbark, and Kangaroopunch!" Devon Overlayed he three FIRE monsters. "With these three monsters I can now build the Overlay Network!" The red portal opened and the three monsters went in.
"I XYZ SUMMON COACH KING GIANTRAINER!"
Devon's Xyz Monster was a large blue, muscular umpire with a silver helmet and orange glasses, and have several bats on its back. It swung a couple of bats around, ready to play.
Coach King Giantrainer: Rank 8/FIRE/Warrior/2800 Atk/2000 Def
"Aww man!" Yuma said.
Devon smiled. "And now I activate Giantrainer's special ability! By using one Overlay Unit and forfeiting my Battle Phase, I get to draw a card, but I must reveal it! However, if said card's a monster, you take 800 points of damage! And the best part is that I can use this ability three times this turn!" Devon held up three fingers.
"For real?!" Yuma said.
"That means you have possibility of taking 2400 points of damage!" Astral said.
"Now let's start!" Devon said as Giantrainer absorbed an Overlay Unit into one of its bats. "Oh, and since it was Kangaroopunch that was sent to the Graveyard you take 800 points of damage!" The portal opened and the kangaroo came out, then a boxing glove came out of its pouch and punched Yuma in the face.
"OWH!" Yuma yelled.
Yuma: 4000 – 800 = 3200
"And now time to draw my card." Devon reached for his deck. "I wonder what it's going to be…" Devon drew his card and smiled. "It's a monster card! You know what that means! FIRERY FAST BALL!"
Panther Warrior/Level 4/EARTH/Beast-Warrior/2000 Atk/1600 Def
Giantrainer threw a baseball into the air and hit it towards Yuma, and as it did it caught fire, turning into a fire ball as it his Yuma.
Yuma: 3200 – 800 = 2400
"I still have two draws left! And now I draw again!" Devon drew his card and smiled. "Another monster! Coach Captain Lionroar! FIERY FAST BALL!" His monster once again threw a fire ball at Yuma.
Coach Captain Lionroar: Level 8/FIRE/Beast-Warrior/2400 Atk/1200 Def
Yuma: 2400 – 800 = 1600
"Now for my final draw!" Devon drew his card. "Argh! It's a spell card, Coach's Authority. So you take no damage." Devon said as he put the card in his hand. "But don't think that your punishment is over yet." He then grabbed another card in his hand and his body became surrounded by purple energy. "In fact, it's just begun!"
"Yuma!" Astral said, knowing what will happen next.
"Yeah, he's about to activate Barian's Force!" Yuma anticipated.
Devon pulled the card his master gave him and held it high. "I activate Rank up Magic Diamond Chaos Force!" The card Devon held up had the picture of a redish magenta diamond with a weaved gold and silver outline, and had a smaller diamond on each of the four corners; red on top, purple on bottom, green on left, and yellow on right.
"Whoa what?!" Yuma said as the card shined brightly and he was utterly confused.
Eclipsa smiled as her Crest glowed on her chest. "Perfect! Just perfect! With his new monster those Numbers don't stand a chance and will be ours!"
Then on Devon's chest, Eclipsa's crescent moon Crest appeared and glowed vigorously as he yelled. "With Diamond Chaos Force, I can Rank Up my Xyz Monster into a Chaos Xyz Monster! I rebuild the Overlay Network with my Rank 8 Coach King Giantrainer!" Devon said as his monster turned into a fire element instead of chaos like with those Summoned with Barian's Force and went into the Overlay Network.
"GO CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION! I XYZ SUMMON CHAOS XYZ COACH GOD ULTIMATRAINER!"
The new Chaos Xyz Monster was way bigger and scary looking than the last one. Its body was covered in silver armor, except for the red wrestler mask and green Mohawk. It had low bearing flame like wings that were radiating with Chaos, and it flexed its six massive arms as it gave a roar that shook the ground. However, it didn't have a red crystal Chaos Overlay Unit, but the regular kind circling his body.
CXyz Coach God Ultimatrainer: Rank 9/FIRE/Warrior/3800 Atk/2300 Def
"Oh man! A Rank 9 monster?! I didn't think that those existed!" Yuma said. "Man these Barians sure do know how to bring the power!"
"Yuma, I don't think that the Barians are the ones behind Devon's control." Astral stated.
"Why not? I mean, he has a Chaos Xyz!" Yuma said.
"I know but there are several differences! One, Devon didn't us Barian's Force, but that 'Diamond Chaos Force' card instead. Two, that monster does not have the crystal Overlay Units like those summoned with Barian power. And most importantly, Devon doesn't bear the Barian symbol on his forehead." Astral said.
Yuma looked closely and saw he was right, but also something else. "You're right! And he has a Crest! So he's working with Trey and Quattro?!" Yuma exclaimed.
"No Yuma I don't think so. While the energy is intense, it is only a fraction of the power I sensed from the Crests Quattro and Trey possessed. Leading me to believe that Devon is under the control of the one who owns that Crest." Astral said, looking at the Crest he felt a sense of familiarity.
"If you're done talking to yourself let's get this Duel underway!" Devon said. "Like with Giantrainer, Ultimatrainer can use and Overlay Unit to allow me to draw a card, and if it's monster, you take 800 points of damage!" Devon put his hand on his deck and drew his card. "Hah! Another monster! And it is Coach Soldier Wolfbark! You know what that means!"
"Oh no! Not again!" Yuma said as he was blown away by the roar Ultimatrainer yelled at Yuma.
Yuma: 1600 – 800 = 800
Yuma stood up. "I may be down to only 800, but since you used Giantrainer's ability, you can't attack me this turn!" Yuma said with hope in his voice.
Devon smiled. "Please kid. Did you honestly think I would become a Pro Duelist without having a way to counteract my own monsters' negative abilities?!" Devon pulled a card out of his hand. "I now send Coach Captain Lionroar to the Graveyard to allow me to attack this turn!" Devon sent the card to the Graveyard.
"Oh no!" Yuma said. The Grave portal opened and a bipedal lion with blue and green body armor and yellow sun glasses came out and gave a mighty roar that seemed to rile up Ultimatrainer. "I'm in trouble!"
"Ultimatrainer, destroy that sorry excuse of a Magician so we can take those Numbers for the glory of our master!" Ultimatrainer gave a series of blows that destroyed Gagaga Magician, but no damage was done to Yuma. "WHAT?!" Devon yelled in anger.
"Hah! I activated the trap Small Salvation!" The trap showed reviling showed Rainbow Kuriboh surrounded by a bubble shield. "See, if I would be dealt 1000 points of damage, either from a card effect or battle like just now, I don't take any! And the best part is that since you destroyed Gagaga Magician while he was equipped with Bound Wand, Gagaga Magician can return to battle again!" The Grave portal opened and Magician came out of it.
Magician: 1500 Atk
"Argh! You little brat!" Devon said.
"Very good Yuma. Now with Monster Reborn in your hand, you can revive Gagaga Girl, and Overlay her with Gagaga Magician to summon Utopia. Then with Gagaga Girl's special ability we can reduce Ultimatrainer's attack points to nothing and win!" Astral said.
"Yeah!" Yuma said.
Devon growled. "If you think I'm done, you're sadly mistaken!" Devon pulled a card out of his hand. "Since I have Ultimatrainer on my field, I can use the spell I drew with Giantrainer's ability; Coach's Authority!" The spell played showed a referee and coach glaring at a random Beast-Warrior while giving him a red card. "Now, by sending one Beast-Warrior to the Graveyard, you can't Xyz Summon any Xyz Monsters whose Rank is equal to or lower than the Level of the monster I sent!"
"Oh no!" Yuma said.
"I send Level 4 Panther Warrior to the Graveyard." Devon sent the card in his hand the Graveyard slot. "Now you can't Summon any Xyz Monster whose Rank is 4 or less! I end my turn!" Devon said with a smile as his monster roared with authority.
Eclipsa giggled. "This is fantastic! Millennia's told us about Yuma's Number 39 and its ability to transform into a Chaos Number without Rank Up Magic. But now Yuma and Astral can't bring out their most power monster! Devon may just win this for me after all." Eclipsa smiled big.
"This is bad Yuma! With that spell in play, we can't summon Utopia!" Astral said.
"Hmm, maybe we don't need Utopia." Yuma said.
"What?!" Astral said, shocked by this.
"Look, Utopia is our best card, but we do have other Numbers we could summon! And with Gagaga Magician and Gagaga Girl's abilities, we can summon just about any our Numbers, and with Gagaga Girl's other ability we just need a Number with at least 2300 attack points!" Yuma said.
"Kid, quit talking to yourself and hurry up so I can take your Numbers!" Devon said impatiently.
"Okay, I draw!" Yuma drew his card and gasped at what it was.
"Yuma, you still have that card in your deck?!" Astral yelled.
"I'm not gonna get rid of it Astral! Okay! We may need it in moments like this when we find ourselves in a corner against the Barians, Kite, or one of the Crest bearers!" Yuma turned back to his opponent. "Now, I play the spell Monster Reborn! This card brings back Gagaga Girl!" The Grave portal opened and Gagaga Girl flew out. "Next I activate Gagaga Magician's ability; I change his Level to 5!"
Magician: Level 5
"And now I use Gagaga Girl's ability; She can make her Level the same as Gagaga Magician's!"
Gagaga Girl: Level 5
"Oh no!" Devon and Eclipsa said at the same time.
"I Overlay my Level 5 Gagaga Magician and Gagaga Girl!" Yuma's Gagaga duo turned into elements. "With the two monsters I build the Overlay Network!" The two DARK elements vanished into the golden Overlay Portal.
"I XYZ SUMMON NUMBER 61: VOLCASAURUS!"
The monster Yuma summoned was the first Number he and Astral collected, the red T-Rex rose up and roared at the excitement of the opportunity to battle again.

"Brilliant move Yuma!" Astral said.
"And now Gagaga Girl's second ability kicks in! Since she was used in and Xyz Summon with another Gagaga, your Ultimatrainer's attack points go bye bye! CELLPHONE SUBTRACTION!" A ghost version of Gagaga Girl appeared and texting into her phone and then pointed it at Ultimatrainer as it became encased by the light of the phone, but then Ultimatrainer shrugged the light off and didn't lose any attack points at all! "What the?!" Yuma said.
"Hah! See, Ultimatrainer has another special ability; it can't be targeted by any card effects, so your little phone trick is useless!" Devon said.
"This is bad Yuma. With an ability like that, I don't know how we can beat him." Astral with concern in his voice.
Yuma looked at the final card in his hand. "Well, I guess we have no choice." Yuma said as the reached for the card.
Astral saw this and gasped. "Wait Yuma, that card is too dangerous!"
"Astral, Alito swore to me that this card was safe for me to use, so I'm gonna use it! Besides, this is our last card and Volcasaurus has no defense!" Yuma lifted the card high. "I activate Rank Up Magic Barian's Force!" Yuma held the card up and the card glowed.
Eclipsa saw this and almost feel down in disbelief. "NO! NO! NO!" Eclipsa yelled. "How could Yuma have a card from those monsters?!" Eclipsa punched the roof she was standing on, leaving large creaks in the concrete. "Those bastards got Yuma!" Eclipsa looked up and gasped as Yuma didn't have the dark aura associated with the brainwashed puppets or the Barian symbol on his forehead. "What?!"
Yuma smiled as he used the card the Barian he considered his friend gave him. "This card Ranks Up Volcasaurus into a Chaos Number! I Overlay my Rank 5 Volcasaurus!" Volcasaurus turn into pure Chaos and vanished into the dark cloud in the sky, which then exploded with energy.
"GO CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION! I XYZ SUMMON CHAOS NUMBER 51: MAGMASAURUS REX!"
The new monster had gone through a complete evolution. It was now twice as big, had two mini volcanos as horn on its head, three large volcanos running down its back, and two small ones on the tip of its tail. On each of its shoulders and knees it had a small mountain that looked ready to blow and its eyes were filled with primal dino rage. Also, instead of having lava at the rims and boiling in the volcanos, it was molten Chaos energy and its dark red body has creaks in that were also filled with the power of Chaos. It gave a large and vicious roar that shook even Ultimatrainer.
Number C61 Magmasaurus Rex: Rank 6/FIRE/Dinosaur/3000 Atk/1500 Def
"Oh…my…" Devon was speechless at the true monstrosity that was standing before him.
"Go Magmasaurus Rex! Use your special ability! By using one Chaos Overlay Unit Magmasaurus Rex automatically destroys all your monsters!" Yuma smiled. "And since its ability isn't specifically targeting Ultimatrainer, your monster is going down in flames, or rater magma! MAGMA EXTINCTION!" One of Magmasaurus Rex's three Chaos Overlay Units flew into its mouth, and all of its volcanos erupted, shooting the lava into the air and fell down towards Devon's field, then the four dormant volcanos on its shoulders and knees blew its top and blasted Ultimatrainer, burying it in lava.
"NOOO!" Devon said as his only monster was buried in lava, one of its metal arms reaching up, but was slowly melted.
"Downside Magmasaurus Rex can't normally attack the turn it uses this ability." Yuma smiled. "But, since Magmasaurus Rex still has Volcasaurus as a Chaos Overlay Unit, Magmasaurus Rex can attack this turn! MAGMA MAGNITUDE!" Magmasaurus Rex open its mouth and shot red hot lava at Devon, causing him to lose the Duel.
Devon: 2300 – 3000 = 0 (LOSE)
WINNER: Yuma
"Alright!" Yuma said as he jumped up. Both he and Astral looked up at their Chaos Number and Yuma smiled, and Magmasaurus Rex looked at them and looked like it might be smiling before it vanished.
Devon tried to stand up but was wobbling. "This isn't over! I swear I will-" He didn't finish as he was now chocking and his body glowed with purple energy and the Crest reappeared. "NO MASTER! Please I can-" Before he could plea further the Crest shattered into pieces and he collapsed, one of his arms outstretched and a couple of feet from the Rank Up Magic Diamond Chaos Force that was on the ground. The card then glowed and the glow that surrounded him snaked out from is hand and onto the card, this continued until the glow was leaving him, starting from the feet to the tip of his outstretched hand. Then once the glow had completely left Devon and entered the card, the card turned completely purple and morphed into a butterfly.
"What the?!" Yuma said as he approached the card-turned-butterfly. The purple butterfly flapped its wings and flew into the direction of Yuma and Astral. The two of them moved and let the butterfly passed. "Freaky."
Eclipsa held out her hand and had her finger elevated. The butterfly landed on her finger and Eclipsa looked at it with a smile. "Such promise. But that's the duty of a Pawn. To test, and to lose…" Eclipsa then quickly smacked the butterfly in with her two hands, and turned it into glowing dust. Then her Crest appeared on her chest and it absorbed the dust as Eclipsa inhaled and exhaled deeply. "But now I know about that Barian's Force card, which somehow didn't possess him…" Eclipsa put her left hand on her left eye, which was covered by her long bangs and exhaled deeply. "Time to visit an old friend."
Yuma was helping Devon stand on his feet. "Thanks kid. Did we really have a Duel?" Devon asked as he stood up.
"Yeah. Do you really not remember?" Yuma asked.
"Yeah. I mean the last thing I remember is…" Devon then paused. "God this is crazy…"
"What?" Yuma asked.
"Well, last thing I remember is helping this Duelist who lost his Heart Pieces, not by Duel, but they were just stolen from him. I felt so angry about it I wished I could help him…" Devon then exhaled. "Then I turned around and saw a purple butterfly. If flew right towards me and somehow went into my chest…" Devon shook his head. "That's it. That's as far back as I remember. But I do recall a feeling of empowerment though." Devon said. He then pulled out a Heart Piece. "Here kid."
"Oh no, I couldn't take that!" Yuma said.
"Of course you can. I saw my D Pad, and we Dueled. I might not remember it, or even recall owning a couple of the cards used, but you earned it." Devon said as he placed the Heart Piece in Yuma's hand. "See you around kid." Devon then walked off.
When he was out of sight Astral spoke up. "Yuma something weird is going on." He said.
Yuma looked at Astral and pulled a face. "Oh really?" He said sarcastically. "Because we already had over twice our daily dose of weird over an hour ago, and that was before Estrella showed up!" Yuma said.
"That guy Devon said a butterfly went into him, then once he was defeated, the card he had drained him of his power and it turned into a butterfly. And while he was under the influence of that power he bared a Crest. While he didn't have nearly as much power as Trey or Quattro, but defiantly more intense, and it looked a bit like one of the ones from my memory." Astral said.
Yuma then gasped and interrupted Astral. "Wait a minute Astral! Devon knew my name! And if he was working for the Crest bearers-"
"Then know of you and me! And they have the power to Rank Up monsters as well!" Astral said with realization. "This is very bad Yuma! The enemies we know nothing about know us!"
"Yeah but, we know about a couple of them, so it's not all bad…" Yuma said, trying to end on a positive note. Yuma then heard some rustling in the bushes in the shadows. He turned to the area with the rustling. "Who's there?" Yuma said, hoping it wasn't another enemy. But then he almost passed out by who it was that came out.
"It's been a while Yuma, hasn't it?" Eclipsa said as she emerged from the shadows.
Yuma was paralyzed with shock, and could only manage to say one thing. "Auriana?"

Well, this chapter is just full of suspense! Eclipsa encounters Kite and no doubt he will pursue her and her Numbers. Also, next chapter we will learn of the history of Yuma and Eclipsa, or as he called her 'Auriana', and much much more! So much more! So very much more!
