Author's Note: Well the new recruit isn't chosen but it is narrowed down, to make it easier for all of us lol, and I made ALL the choices newer cartoon characters, and the ones not picked will have a different sort of role. I have been watching the newer shows recently to get an idea of which ones would fit in and how, and have a whole SLEW of new ideas, thanks to all who suggested characters from the shows now included, I needed to look past my nostalgia goggles. Yes this is why I took so long.

Dexter and his team flew away on their ship early in the morning, saying that the new member would be back soon. Dexter reassured Danny that his team would be alright and thanked him for the information. But Danny couldn't help but worry, this whole situation had him rattled, and he wanted to put an end to it, find this Xana and end his plans before he makes things worse than they already are. He looked in the mirror to check his eyes, they were still the green color they normally are when he is in his ghost form, so with a sigh of relief he went downstairs to see the candidates Dexter called in. Replacing Jen would be hard but he knew it had to be done. There were three people in front of him. One was a young blond girl in a fancy dress with an almost disturbingly wide smile on her face. The one next to her was a little boy, a bit on the larger side, but he seemed eager. The last one was the oldest one there, a red haired girl with a yellow tee-shirt.

"Hello everybody," Danny said, "I am the leader of the Townsville branch of the Titans."

"Hiiiiiiiii," The blonde girl interrupted, Danny simply coughed and continued talking though.

"You are all here to see if you will be part of this team," Danny explained, "the other two will be put on hold till there are enough to set up another branch. This is a temporary role as we are a member short. Understood."

"Yes sir," The red head said

"I understand," The boy said excitedly

"I can be SO useful to you!" The blonde said

"What are your names," Danny asked

"I am Star Butterfly," the blonde said, "I am a magical princess from another dimension, and I am an expert with magic."

Danny highly doubted that statement since it didn't seem like Xana has gone after her, but he moved on.

"I am Steven," Said the boy, "I have a gem on my stomach that grants me my power!"

Danny nodded seeing potential, but he was also slightly concerned he might not understand his powers fully considering his age.

"I am April O'Neal," said the red head, "I am a kunoichi, a ninja girl in a sense."

Danny saw she was probably the least powerful of the choices, but she clearly seemed the most skilled. But the only way to know for sure is to see them all in action. He lead the three to their training room, then phased though the wall to the control room much to their shock. Star kept walking and bumped into the wall trying to follow him. Danny rolled his eyes and turned on the simulation. He picked a few basic villains to simulate, random goons essentially. Star immediately went into action firing what Danny thought he heard her call, a narwhal blast? Danny watched her as she fired random magic spells she seemed to almost all make up off the top of her head as she went, but she was holding off the drones around her very well. He took a look at Steven, he created a large shield on his arm to push the goons back into a wall, not bad at all for a boy his size. April was jumping around attacking at fast speeds all over, she did seem skilled, but Danny couldn't help but notice some uncertainty in her stance. Danny admired all three for their tenacity, a mage, knight and rogue, not an easy choice. Danny recorded the whole fight and after they won he went back inside.

"You all did well, surpassing expectations," Danny said as Star and Steven seemed a bit giddy, April smiles proudly though with a hint of relief, "You all fought well but only one of you can take up the spot, but once out missing member is back, I think you three could be a good team together, but we'll see what Robin thinks about that when the time comes. Head home and rest, tomorrow I will visit you all to tell you your results.

"Yay!" Star yelled out, "Thank you Ghost Boy!"

"Mr. Phantom I appreciate the chance," Steven said kindly

"I could use a nap after that work out," April said, "See you tomorrow then."

The three left and Danny walked to the back to check out the footage and watched carefully. He knew that nothing would just replace Jen so he tried not to compare them to her in his analysis. Star was eager but she took a lot of risks, while she obviously doesn't understand her wands full potential, she did fight very well with it, even if in a very frilly way. Steven isn't the most intelligent boy, but he is brave and strong, definitely having a lot of potential, and April's speed and technique is something to be admired. Danny watched over and over, and after hours went by, he finally fell asleep, knowing who to pick.

Author's Note 2:Vote now, April, Steven, or Star. I liked to choose these three cause not only are they all from different networks, but they have the RPG trope of the Mage, Knight, and Rogue going for them. Honorable mentions to Finn, Dipper, and Korra as well though. You have till chapter 16 is posted to vote, for chapter 15 is gonna be a spin off, anybody could show up there, but here's a hit.
