Beca had been staying at Jesse's for almost a week now and Jesse was becoming increasing worried. For the first few days Beca's phone had rung off the hook until Beca finally just switched it off. Jesse knew it was Beca's family calling and couldn't help but feel guilty they he was playing a part in this. He had secretly read some of the texts on Beca's phone asking her to come home or begging her to just be safe. He was debating weather or not he should just call Aubrey and tell her Beca was with him. But then he was worried that betraying Beca's trust would result in her hating him, or worse she might find out and take off again, and at least with him she was safe.

He tried all different methods of getting her to talk but to no avail, the only thing he got out of her was that she could no longer stay at her sisters and refused to go back to living with her Dad, so was staying with him until she figured something out.

Jesse wouldn't be so worried if he thought this was just the typical teenager running away from home clique, but he knew it wasn't. He had seen the long stretch of bandages running up Beca's arms, he saw that her clothes were hanging off her body because she couldn't bring herself to eat, when he looked into her eyes he saw the hollowness that peered back at him through deep blue orbs with deep dark rings they lay beneath them, not quite successfully covered up with make-up.

It was a Saturday night and Jesse lay on the bed watching Seinfeld, not really paying attention to what was happening but rather thinking about how he could try to help Beca without her snapping at him again. He looked over to Beca and found her sound asleep on the bed next to him sleeping peacefully. The two generally slept in separate rooms but they had decided watching a marathon of Seinfeld seemed like a good idea. He knew that he should wake Beca and take her to her own room as he knew she liked her privacy, however he couldn't bring himself to do it considering how little sleep she had had over the past week.

Jesse decided he would sleep in the spare room for tonight and leave Beca to rest. He turned of the TV and was about to tuck Beca under the blanket properly, when he saw her twitch and face scrunch up in to a look of pain. He knew she must be about to have another nightmare. He had heard her have them before but everytime he had come to see if she was okay she had already woken up and told him everything was fine and to go back to bed.

This time he hoped that maybe he could comfort her and hopefully coax her back into a good night sleep for once. A whimpering noise came out of Beca's mouth as she gripped the bed sheets harder and began to kick out in her sleep. Jesse gently brushed the hair out of face and continued to softly stroke her back with his other hand.

"Please don't hurt anymore." Beca whispered desperately in her sleep.

"Shhh-, it's okay Beca, you're okay" Jesse softly whispered in her ear in an attempt to calm her.

Beca continued to whimper and move around in her sleep however Jesse decided it was an improvement considering her normal terror filled screams and thrashing about wildly. He continued to gently rub her back and whisper comforting words to her. However despite his best efforts Beca still woke up with a gasp, as soon as she saw Jesse as close to her as he was, she backed away to the other side of the bed in fear.

"Beca it's okay, it just me, Jess, I'm not going to hurt you. I saw you were having a bad a dream so I tried to comfort you."

Beca took a couple of deep breaths calm herself but still didn't say anything.

"It's okay, I was just about to leave to the spare room anyway. Get some rest Becs" Jesse continued and he got up and began to leave the room.

"Can you stay?" Beca asked in the smallest voice that Jesse almost didn't hear it.

"Of course Becs" Jesse said as he began to climb into bed, making sure to not get to close to Beca, but rather opted for taking Beca's hand in his with no sense of romance behind it, only friendship.

"Do you wanna talk about the dream?" Jesse asked softly, to which Beca just shook her head and gave a simply 'No'.

"Please Beca, you've got to let me in. I'm happy to let you stay here but please you have to be fair and at least let me know a little about the situation. I'm so worried about you Becs"

Beca let out a sigh. She knew it wasn't fair to keep him in the dark when he had been so completely wonderful to her when he barely knew her. She decided it was only fair to let him started explaining the very basics of why she was in hospital, of how she couldn't bare to face her sister after what she had done and explained how her Dad was trying to force her to come home. The whole time Jesse simply listened, he didn't interrupt, just simply held her hand tightly and let her speak.

"Why do you hate living with your Dad so much?" Jesse finally spoke

Beca was about to respond when they heard the door open on the opposite side of the house.

"I thought your parents weren't home until later next week?" Beca asked concerned as to what they would think.

"They're not." Jesse replied just as confused as Beca. It was then that they heard the door close and a loud voice yell out into the house.

"Yo Jess, you home bud? Thought we could have a couple of beers and play some pool before the 'rents get back, I got nothing better to do." The familiar voice said.

"Oh it's just my Brother." Jesse said.

Panic rose in Beca's chest as she realised why the voice was familiar. "You mean your brother Aaron?!"

"Yeah?" Jesse asked confused. "Oh shit, stuff happened with you two at the party, I had almost forgot. Do you want me to get him to leave?" Jesse asked making the connection but still not quite sure why Beca was so scared.

Beca breathing started to become quick and shallow as she suddenly leapt up from the bed, She started grabbing few amount of clothes, phone and make-up that was luckily in Jesse's ensuit.

"I-I can't be here, I have to go. I'm sorry I'll talk to you later"

Jesse was about to object but Beca immediately sped out the door. She pushed straight past Aaron before he had the chance to even see her face and was out the door a second later. Aaron approached Jesse confused as to what was going on.

"Who the heck was that?" Aaron asked.
