Thank you maxridelover, Gal Can't Help It, The Reborn Akatsuki, Hunter Moore, LunaScarletta, cherryfull, StellarMudkip, and Lilith dracul for reviewing! Sorry this is so late. I have recently jumped on the Fairy Tail bandwagon. You best believe I will be writing fanfiction for them soon! My OTP is GajeelxLevy so if you watch Fairy Tail and like that pairing, be on the look out!
I also wrote another SasukexSakura smut fest called Under Arrest. It's linked on my Tumblr page. That will be the last SasukexSakura for a while. I'm blatantly tired of it now.
Sakura woke up feeling heavy. She yawned and cracked open and eye to see Tobi asleep on her chest. His right hand was curled up next to his head on her belly. She wasn't surprised. Even though he started off sleeping on the other end of the tent, he ended up rolling around. He was a very rough sleeper and never again would he be allowed to sleep in the same tent…ever. He calmed down once she placed her hand through his hair. Sakura was very skeptical of this act. There was no way he could be so childish could he?
Sakura noticed that Tobi's mask was on Sakura's other side. Curiosity got the best of her. She tried to gently turn him over so she could see his face. When she reached out, the medic could felt roughness on the side of his face that she touched. Her brows furrowed in confusion. Was his face burned or disfigured? Wearing a mask now made sense. The moment she touched him, Tobi bolted for his mask and threw it on.
"Good morning Sakura-chan!" he sing-songed.
Sakura sat up. That wouldn't get him off the hook that fast. "Why do you wear a mask Tobi? What happened to your face?"
Tobi's arms were in the air with his enthusiastic good morning. They dropped to his sides when she asked that question. He sat down next to her and pulled one knee up to his chest. "Tobi had an accident many years ago. I don't want people to see my face because of it."
"What happened?" she questioned, turning her full attention on him.
"When I was still a village shinobi, I had a large rock dropped on me by an enemy village."
That brought up another question. Sakura noticed that the other Akatsuki members wore their old village hitai-ate with the symbol crossed out. Tobi did not have one. "What village are you from?"
"It's a secret!" he said excitedly. "Now come on Sakura-chan! We need to get ready to go to the Village Hidden in the Grass!"
Sakura continued to gaze at him for a moment before deciding to let it go for now. She did have more important things to worry about right now than him. Getting up and stretching, Sakura rolled up her sleeping bag and put it on the outside of the tent. Sliding on her sandals, Sakura stepped out into the warmth of the morning. It was very nice outside, maybe only about seventy five degrees with the sun not complete visible yet. Everything was bathed in a light blue hue.
Sakura looked over at the other tent and realized that Deidara must still be sleeping. Her cheeks flushed at what almost happened last night, but then she frowned at Tobi's interruption. She knew it was better that he did; Sakura didn't want to give it up so easily, but at the same time, she wanted that blonde jerk more than anything at that moment. Padding softly to the zipped up door, Sakura called out to him.
"Deidara, get up. We need to eat and prepare to leave."
He didn't stir. Sakura didn't hear any movement at all. She frowned. They didn't have time to play around. Sakura boldly unzipped his tent and put her head inside. "Deidara! Wake u-!"
The pinkette was pulled into the tent, landing on all fours on top of the blonde bomber. He was shirtless, black sweats pulled down low and a smirk on his face. He placed his hands on Sakura's hips. "I will finish what I started."
He flipped her on her back and just as Sakura was about to protest, Deidara got up and exited the tent, leaving Sakura feeling the absence of his weight. So he was trying to be a tease now? That was definitely a surprise to her. She smiled and got up to fix herself some breakfast.
After everyone was packed up, they bounded through the trees towards the Village Hidden in the Grass. Because they had covered so much ground the day before, it only took them about four hours to get there. It was a good thing they left so early. The sun was beaming down brightly and Sakura was starting to regret not bringing sunscreen. She could feel her skin tightening and knew that there would be pain the next day.
The Village Hidden in the Grass really did have beautiful grasslands. They were lush, and healthy despite the heat. It was known that they got a lot of rain, more than the Leaf Village. There was an enormous gate surrounding the village just like with the Leaf. Sakura's heart began to pound, but she used her chakra to slow it. She was representing the Hokage and she would show herself as strong as her leader. Looking over at Deidara and Tobi, they both nodded and the trio proceeded forward. They were met by the gatekeeper.
"Who goes there!" he shouted from his booth before exiting and coming out to greet them.
"We are from the Hidden Leaf Village," Sakura explained, turning to meet the man. "I am here on behalf of Lady Tsunade, the Hokage to speak with your village leader. It's extremely important."
The man laughed. "Everything is of utmost importance."
Sakura frowned. "This is no laughing matter. Let us in."
He did indeed stop laughing due to the seriousness of her tone. "You can try to meet with the Village Leader Hisoki, but everyone is always trying so good luck."
"Oh we'll speak to him," Deidara broke in. "Where is the Village Leader located?"
"Head straight from here. You can't miss it."
The huge doors opened slowly and Sakura walked in without another word. She gazed around at their surroundings while they walked forward. It was very similar to the Leaf Village only there were areas that had grass that was knee high. It was very beautiful and it didn't feel as hot there as it did back in the Leaf. The humidity was definitely worse, so she felt more uncomfortable than hot. Sakura could feel her hair starting to frizz. Good thing she pulled it up into a tight bun.
Deidara pointed at a huge building that was directly in front of them. It was a shade of light green and stood much higher than all the other buildings. It had the village symbol painted on the front over top a huge window that took up most of the front of the building. Sakura sped up her pace to nearly a jog. The quicker this was taken care of, the better. Deep within her being, Sakura was hoping that the village wasn't the one who was doing this and if they were, that they wouldn't start a fight. Sakura wasn't afraid of one, but this really would make it understood that they were at war.
"Are you ready Sakura-chan?" Tobi questioned.
Sakura looked at him strangely for a moment. Did his voice change? It was minute, but still his voice sounded like someone else. "Yes, are you?"
"Oh yeah!" Tobi shouted.
His voice returned back to normal when he said that. Sakura thought maybe her nervousness was making her hear things. Once again, she used her chakra to stop the adrenaline from rushing through her body. She took a deep breath as they reached the door.
"Let's go," Sakura instructed.
They entered and took the stairs up to the top floor, guessing that's where they would find the village leader. Sakura led the way and when they reached the top, they saw a woman walking towards them. Square black glasses were on her face and a white lab coat billowed around her as her steps began to speed up. Her brows the same color as her light brown hair lifted with a look of surprise.
"Who are you?" she called. "You can't be up here!"
Sakura didn't stop walking forward. "We are representing the Hokage. We have to speak with the village leader."
"That's not possible," the woman said. She blocked Sakura's way. "I can't let you go any further."
"Why is that, hmm?" Deidara questioned. "What we have to talk about could mean the life or death of some of your shinobi. Are you sure you want to stop us?"
The woman's eyes darted back and forth. A look of panic crossed her face. "So you are all shinobi? Could you take on another mission while you're already here? I promise you'll be compensated!" She studied Tobi and Deidara's robes. "Wait, you're part of the Akatsuki!"
"Wait slow down. Yes they are, but they are contracted with the Leaf." Sakura crossed her arms over her chest. "Anyway, what's going on?"
"My name is Yori," the woman said, bowing respectfully to them. "I am the daughter of Village Leader. My father has been killed and I think his secretary is behind it."
Sakura looked at her solemnly. "Yes we would love to help, but first, do you know why we are here?"
Yori nodded softly. "I-I have a very good idea. Please, come where we can speak more freely."
Sakura looked over at her partners and gave them a curt nod. They followed Yori all the way to what seemed like was a basement. The floors had gone from beautifully carpeted to plain concrete. Sakura made sure to stay alert during their walk down the long, poorly light hallway. Some of the lights flickered, making the location seem very suspicious. Tobi and Deidara were also on edge just in case something did happen. Yori turned a left corner and Sakura followed to surprisingly find a beautiful room. It looked like someone's living room. Shiny wood floors, red orange colored walls, and a pretty mahogany bookshelf off to the far back corner. An off white table stacked with snacks was by the door they entered and a couch that matched its color sat on a dark red design rug that took up majority of the room.
"I would have never guessed this was back here," Deidara commented.
"Me either," Sakura agreed.
Tobi was immediately after the snacks. He held up as small red box. "Look Deidara-senpai, it's pocky!"
"Shut up Tobi," he said without any emotion behind it.
Yori motioned for them to sit down while she bustled at a fully functioning kitchen sink they didn't see located on the left side right when you entered. "Would you like some iced tea? I've been told mine is to die for."
"If it's sweet tea, I would love some," Sakura called.
Deidara stood next to Sakura instead of sitting. "How about instead of making nice, you tell us what's going on, hmm?"
Yori looked over her shoulder at the other male quickly before turning her attention back to the pot she was setting on the stove. She brushed her hands on her long skirt before coming to sit about a foot away from Sakura.
Yori went to open her mouth, but Deidara started first. "Before you start on your sob story, let's make sure you know why we're here, hmm. Hidden Leaf shinobi have been killed while on scouting tours and your village's symbol has been left on their bodies. The Hokage sent us to find out of your little village actually would do something so stupid."
Yori blue eyes widened in shock. Her mouth opened and closed for a moment while she looked between Sakura and Deidara. "Are you serious?" she asked in a hoarse voice.
"We wouldn't be here if it wasn't," Sakura said gently while giving her a weak smile. "That's why we needed to talk to your father and see if he knows anything about this and if not, help us find the right person."
Tears pooled in the other woman's eyes and spilled down her cheeks. "My father…my father was killed just yesterday. I found him during my evening walk through the grass fields." Her hands began to shake uncontrollably while she tried to slide her glasses that were falling back up her face. "He too had the village's symbol scrawled on him in his own blood."
Deidara and Sakura looked at each other strangely. Tobi was sitting cross-legged on the floor close by. "Tobi is confused. Why would they put the symbol on the village leader?"
The kunoichi turned into an investigator as she sat closer to Yori. "Do you know how he was killed?"
She shook her head. "I couldn't find any injuries. He was bleeding from mouth, ears, and eyes so I don't know if it was some kind of head injury. I'm guessing whoever did this to my father is the same one who did this to your people."
Well things had just gotten interesting. Sakura thought their mission probably wouldn't be straight forward, but she didn't expect this. It sounded like yes the village was the one who attacked their shinobi, but who was behind it to want to kill Hisoki? Usually when someone killed a leader, it was to gain their position. Who would want that?
"You said you think the secretary is behind this?" Sakura questioned.
The tearful woman shook her head in agreement. "Akemi Ito," she said bitterly. "She a cunning fox that has had my dad's balls in her purse for at least the last five years."
Sakura was surprised at her coarse language. "Why would she kill him? It sounds like he trusted her from your choice of words."
Yori stood up just as the tea kettle started shrieking. She put the kettle on little hot plate and opened it. She remained silent while she poured sugar into the kettle and a few mint leaves and stirred. The woman took some cups out of the cabinet and poured three glasses. A few hand signals were done over them and smoke billowed from her outstretched hands until the glasses frosted over. Yori brought two glasses back to them before going back to get hers.
She sat down and crossed her legs, taking a sip of her tea. "If you watch the way she hangs all over him, it's like she controls him with how sexual she is. I wouldn't be surprised if they've slept together. Daddy always lavishes her with extravagant gifts and they often go places together. There's no doubt in my mind that she could plan something like this."
Sakura took a sip of her tea. It was absolutely delicious. Not overly sweet and the mint made it more crisp. "Where is she now?"
Yori laughed bitterly. "We can't find her of course."
Deidara gulped down his tea and slammed it down on the glass table in front of the couch. "Then we need to find her first."
They spoke with Yori a little longer. She showed them a picture of Akemi and she did radiate sex appeal with how tight her strapless blue top was, large breasts exposed. Her full lips were coated with red lipstick, eyes glossed over with eye shadow. In the picture, she was leaning over Leader Hisoki's shoulder, sultry smile on her face as she wrapped her black gloved hands around his shoulders.
"She's fucking hot," Deidara commented as they exited the tower.
"Shut up you perv," Sakura snapped.
According to Yori, Akemi was last seen the day before she found her father dead. Yori was positive that Akemi would show her face again if she indeed was trying to gain power. It still didn't explain why they would be killing Leaf Village ninja. They would just have to ask her and find out or force her to talk if she wouldn't. Sakura had asked to go to Akemi's home so they could look for anything that would point them in the right direction. There was bound to be something if she really was hiding something.
The Village Leader's daughter said that Akemi mainly lived in the village tower, but had a small house on the edge of town. She accompanied them to her home. Tobi knocked first.
"Hello!" he called. "Is anyone home?!"
There was no answer. Deidara forcefully pushed Tobi out of the way and reached into his pouch. Sakura and Tobi immediately backed up. Yori looked at them curiously. "What's wrong?"
The pinkette took a step forward and grabbed Yori's arm, pulling her back to a safe distance. "You'll see."
Deidara grinned at them and opened his hand, showing a small spider chattering away. He threw it at the door and held up two fingers. The door was blown back with a loud bang, crashing into the wall behind it and clanging to the floor. Yori jumped when it happened and quickly adjusted her glasses.
"Oh my," she breathed. "That was wonderful."
Sakura and Tobi looked at each other. The masked man shrugged his shoulders before following Deidara into the small home. Sakura and Yori were hot on the men's heels. They stepped over the glass shattered on the floor from the door's window and made their way into the living room. The home was very put together, but at the same time the air had a dusty look to it and smelled as if none of the doors had been opened in quite some time.
"Deidara take the master bedroom," Sakura instructed. "Tobi take the bathroom, Yori search the kitchen, and I'll look through the living room."
"Who made you boss, hmm?" Deidara teased.
"The Hokage did," Sakura said smartly. "Now start looking!"
They searched for well over two hours. Sakura had combed through every possible crevice in the living room, even going as far as to look for weak spots in the wall and take apart the nonworking TV. Couch cushions were strewn everywhere, the rug upturned and furniture on its side, stripped completely bare. All the pictures that were on the walls were taken down and apart and there was a hole in the wall where Sakura thought she heard hollowness. It was in fact hollow, but it was a dead end.
Sakura was just about to call a break when she heard Deidara calling to her from the bedroom. She joined Tobi and Yori in the hallway to the master. It was completely trashed thanks to Deidara's handiwork. There would be no hiding that her house had been broken into with how terrible it looked. The front door was proof enough. Sakura stepped around the strewn clothes and drawers in order to get to Deidara, who was in a closet.
"Look at this, yeah," he said, taking a step back in order to let Sakura in.
She looked inside the dark walk in closet and looked up to see a part of the ceiling that was able to be removed. It was now sitting on the floor next to a grey box. It was shiny and well taken care of. Sakura picked it up to realize it was locked.
"We should look for the key," she said, showing it to the others.
"Or we could just blow it up," Deidara responded.
Sakura rolled her eyes. "Yeah let's just destroy the whole box and what's in it."
Next came the search for the keys. All of them moved through the destroyed room, which made it harder to search because of everything thrown everywhere. After about thirty minutes of no luck, Sakura returned to the closet. It would make sense to put the key somewhere close by, or at least it would be very predictable. It wouldn't make sense for someone like Akemi to do something so obvious. Then again, it wouldn't hurt to look. She started on the floor, nearly nose pressing against it has she searched thoroughly.
"No luck," she said to herself while moving to the walls to see if there were any hidden places.
Nothing there either. Sakura looked up into the black hole that was the compartment in the ceiling. "Did you check in the ceiling for a key?"
"No," Deidara called. He joined her back at the closet. Sakura jumped and wasn't even close to making it to the ceiling. Deidara snorted. "Need a lift?"
"Shut up," Sakura said in defeat.
She squeaked when the blonde bent down and wrapped his arms around the front of her thighs, hoisting her up to what she was trying to reach. Sakura's gaze looked back at his face before she turned her eyes up. She could reach into the ceiling, but it would be helpful if the short woman was a little higher.
"I need to be a little bit further up," she said to Deidara.
He in turn put her down and placed his head between her thighs, gripped her legs and stood up. Sakura immediately clamped down on his hair for dear life and when they were stable, Sakura peeked into the darkened area. She couldn't see anything, but she had better arm reach being higher up. Her fingers brushed along the dusty cavern. She grimaced at the feel of heavy dust lining her hand as she groped around. Sakura moved her hand over to the right and felt something small and cold. She grabbed it.
"I think I might have found it."
"Good."
Sakura thought she was going to be lowered down, but instead, she felt Deidara's wandering hands caress her thighs. He grew bold and ran them all the way up the sides of her thighs and over her ass. He squeezed firmly on the perfect globes.
"Deidara!" she hissed. "Put me down!"
"Am I interrupting?"
Sakura squeaked and Deidara quickly put her down. She lost her balance and had to catch herself on the wall in front of her or else she might have busted open her lip. "No! Not at all!" Sakura opened her hand. "I found a key."
"That's awesome!" Tobi exclaimed.
He bent down to pick up the safe box and held it out to Sakura. The key was a perfect fit. Everyone gathered around her while she opened it. Inside was a journal along with pictures. Sakura picked up the first one and saw Akemi and some strange man. He was more around her age, his arms around her waist while her back was pressed up against his chest. The man was very handsome with his long raven hair and bright blue eyes. His face was angular and dimples were embedded just above the scruffiness of his beard.
"Who is this?" Sakura asked, handing the picture to Yori.
She adjusted her glasses and held the picture up. "He doesn't look familiar at all."
When they looked through the box, they found several more pictures of them together and closer to the bottom, there were pictures of her and Yori's father. She took them bitterly and ripped them to shreds, letting the demolished pieces flit to the cluttered floor. Sakura moved back to the living room with the journal in her hand. The book was worn. That was obvious by the broken spine, smudge marks, and the browning of the yellow flower on the front. The medic opened it and began to read it out loud. The first entry was dated five years ago.
Hello dear,
I've finally managed to wedge my way into that stiff of a village leader's heart. He's such an easy man to manipulate. Especially with his wife dying. I got to play the sweet shoulder to cry on and next thing I know, all of our clothes are off. Everything is going according to Tamaki's plan. We're so close to getting some real power over this village.
Sakura paused and looked over at Yori who had crystal tears streaming down her face. Her fists were clenched at her sides, knuckles blanched white from closing them so hard. "I'm going to end her."
Venom dripped from her voice at those hushed words. Sakura decided to skip forward a bit. They now knew that Akemi was indeed only using Hisoki to get someone else in power, this Tamaki. Sakura wondered if that was the man they saw in the pictures.
My Only Friend,
I'm growing worried. Tamaki is wanting to kill Hisoki and…that bothers me. It really does. I'm torn, I don't know what to do. I love Tamaki with all my heart and every fiber of my being…but Hisoki. He's treated me better than Tamaki ever has and it's genuine. He makes me feel beautiful without this seductive facade. Every moment we spend laughing and enjoying each other's company, I've cherished and looked forward to those times. I didn't expect for him to worm his way into my heart, but he has. I don't care that he is fifteen years older than me; we have something forming and it is more real than anything.
So Akemi was starting to develop feelings for Hisoki even though she was just supposed to be using him. It was somewhat of an ironic tragedy. They had to keep reading to see what else happened. Akemi knew that Tamaki wanted to kill the village leader, but because of her feelings, she wasn't sure if she could go through with it.
Goodbye,
I told Hisoki about everything…everything. I just couldn't take it anymore. This burden, this heaviness, these feelings of guilt. I can't hurt someone like him. Someone who had made it known clearly over and over that he loves me. When I told him about Tamaki and his plans. He forced me to stay home and provided protection for me.
That was the end of the entry. Sakura turned the page and saw writing on the back cover of the journal. It was very messy, like it was written in a hurry.
Tamaki found out. He's sent his men to find me. They are right outside my door. All of the shinobi helping me have been killed. I'm sure Tamaki will kill me as well for what I've done. If anyone finds this look for Tamaki Hirugashi, owner of a small grocery store on the south side of town called Good Eats.
Sakura closed the book. "Let's go to Good Eats."
So more action here. I get so caught up in romance I forget this story is actually in the middle of a brewing war lol. Please review!
