I stood in the bathroom and starred at myself in the mirror. I just sang. I thought in a daze. I just sang on stage in front of people. I just sang on stage in front of people and Percy. Honsetly i didn't know why I was feraking out Oh wait yeah two words called MY MOTHER!
I didn't even know I could sing. How could I have gone 16 years and not know I could sing like that. I mean WOW, and I call Percy Seaweed Brain.
Speaking of Seaweed Brain he's so confusing and he's throwing my head into a loop. One second he's at my throat and the next he's jumping out of his seat trying to applaud my singing. I've got to say I was pleased thought to see how much RED was looking RED at Percy's admiration for me. UGH... see what I mean. I never had a problem with Rachel then PErcy comes along and it's like anything that pisses her off bring me joy. It like im...im...

I'm leaving now goodbye. I imagined myself pushing Aphrodite out of a door and closing it. I waited a while to see if the voice would come back and when it didn't I sighed in content.
"I am losing my mind!" I said. I left the bathroom and stopped by the vending machines on the way back to the little theater to get a bottle of Huwain Punch. Drinking it I made my way down the hall to the theater room. I was almost there when I ran into someone.
"Omff." Some of the drink spilled down my lips and onto the shirt. "Great." I growled.
"Oh Im so sorry." My head snapped up to the person which of course was non other than Percy Jackson. "I'm really sorry Annabeth I was reading a text and I didn't see you and I-"
"Stop." I said holding my hand. "Your rambeling."
"Oh." He smiled sheepishly. "I just didn't want you to think I did it on purpose you know."
"Got it. It's okay." I was about to step around to go inside but he started speaking again.
"So about your song. It was...you were on stage...and singing...Really good. Ahem." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. I thought it was cute how he nervously fumbled with his words. "Where did you learn to sing like that?"
I shrugged.
"I didn't even know I could sing." I told him pushin gmy bangs out of my eyes, only to have them return second latter.
"Well you can. You can sing really, really,... I mean really good." He nodded and gave a lopsided grin.
"Uh...Thanks." I couldn't help but laugh at the way he said it and I felt my cheeks heat up from the compliment. I kept pushing my bangs out the way but they only fell right back into place.
"You should think about going pro." He said." That or going to NYU for your singing." I shook my head.
"No way thats ever going to happen. It's not on my mom's life plan for me." I siad miserable.
"Oh. And what is?"
"Harvard, Standford, or Yale. All of my previous family members have all went to either one or all of these three schools at some point. My brother Malcom attends Standford right now and my mother expects me to go to Yale, where she went."
"But you dont want to?" He asked. I don't know why, but I found my self actually talking to him. Looking into Percy's sea green eyes I could see the curiosity behind them as he wanted to learn more.
"Well I actually do want to go to NYU but for my art."
"You draw?"
"Yes. Well its not so much drawing as it is designing." I could tell from the scowl he didn't understand. "I design buildings. I want to be an architect. I want to build something that will last for ages and stand tall for all to see."
"Like the Statue of liberty?" He asked smiling. Surpsingly I smiled back.
"Yeah something like that."
"Hmmm...I can see that. Yeah, you could build me a underwater palace at the bottem of the Atlantic." His eyes sparkled with amusement and we both started laughing.
"Yeah besides the fact that, that is highly illogical, I doubt i'll be designing any buildings for anyone."
"Because your mother wants you to follow the family business." He guessed and I nodded. "What is the family business anyway?"
"You know what I don't even really know. I know it has something to do with money management, being advisors to the rich and stupid, and me being stuck doing it."
"Well why don't you tell her you don't want to do it?"
"Are you kidding me? She'd probably throw a hissy fit, kill me, then dis-own me in death."
"Well like your song said, The time has come for your dreams to be heard."
"Yeah well easier sang then done." I said. He gently pushed the bangs out of my face and tucked it behind my ear. He rested his hand there and starred into my eyes, while slowly stroking the side of my face with his thumb.
"Well I believe you have what it takes, you just have to believe in yourself." He left his hand there seeming unwanting to remove it. I brought my hand on his ready to pull it away but something stopped me. I realized I didn't want to move it. I wanted his skin to touch mine, I liked the sinsation it held. I liked the way my heart sped up and how everything else didn't seem to be there. I realized...that I liked Percy Jackson.
This can't be happening. I can't have feelings for Percy Jackson I refuse to have feelings for him. I don't care how cute he is or how amazing his eyes are or how adorable his goofy smile is...Ahhh Stop! Wait what-what is he doing? I saw Percy now leaning in tword me.
Oh god he's gonna kiss me.
Yes! Shrieked the annoying voice.
Now is not the time!

GO AWAY! I pulled back and placed my hand on Percy's chest to stop him from moving forward.
"Percy, no." I said shaking my head. "We can't.
"We can." He said trying to assure me."Annabeth I don't know what it is about you but every since the night of the party i can't get you out my mind." He said. "When I wake up in the morning and when I go to sleep at night I'm thinking about you. When I'm sitting in class bored out of my mind i'm thinking about you and those amazing gray eyes and big beautiful brain."
"How about when your kissing Rachel? Are you thinking about me then too?" I asked.
"I never kissed Rachel." He said. "what happened in the gym, she jumped me."
"Oh poor you." I said pulling away and removing his hand from my face.
"I'm serious. She over heard me talking about you to Nico and she thought i was talking about her. So every since she's been all over me and it's been hell."
"Oh yeah it seems like your in hell." I said rolling my eyes.
"I am." He said. "I am becuase I've got Rachel hanging all over me when what I really want is you." He stepped forward and placed his hand mack on my cheek. I could fell him moving in again but once again i placed my hand on his chest to stop him.
"Percy no. Me...you...it...this can't happen."
"Why not?" He asked with his eyes full of sadness.
"You know why." I said softly.
"Screw them." He said. "Screw everyone. I have feelings for you Annabeth and i know you have feelings for me."
"I never said that."
"But you never said you didn't." He said giving me a small grin. "And if you don't whats the harm in one last kiss?"
"Everything." I said.
"You mean nothing."
"No I mean everything." I pulled away sharply. "Everything could go wrong. Somene could see us, or our parents could find out or-" Percy grabbed me by the hand and pulled me to him.
"Or you would come to the realization that you have feelings for me." He interrupted.
"Or I could come to the realization that i have more feelings for you than i care to admit." I said in a almost whisper.
"See. Nothing to lose but everything to gain." He said so lowly I could harly hear it. He started moving in and this time I didn't stop him. He closed his eyes and I closed mine as his lips drew near to mine. I could almost hear the shreiks of happiness from that annoy voice in my head.
Percy's lips had just brushed mine when the theater door was pushed open. It hit Percy in the back and made him fall taking me down with him. We were now back to the position we had been the night we met.
"Hey." Thals said stepping out. "I was just coming to -what the hell?" She asked. Ah...Shit! Um...um...
"Ugh get off me Jackson." I said thinking quickly. I pushed Percy off me and got up. Brushing myself off I sent him a look of annoyance and disgust. "What kind of idiot gets hit with a door and manages to knowck down the person standing ten feet away." I said to him. He looked at me from the spot on the ground with confussion written all over his face. While Thals starred at him I mouthed, play along.
Finally getting that I wanted him to make sure our little scene stayed un known he jumped up and sent me a glare.
"Well any idiot would know that I don't have eyes in the back of my head so I couldn't see the door."
"Well if you hadn't been in my way you would have." I continued.
"Me in your way?" He scoffed. "As I remember someone was a little too busy drinking their Huwain punch to oay attention to who they were running into." He gestured to a small bit of Huwain punch on his shirt that i was just noticing. I was opening my mouth to say something when Nico walked out.
"Hey man there you are." He took looked at all of us standing there. "What's going on?"
"Your cousin the idiot fell onto my god-sister." Thalia said. "Everytime he's around stuff like this seems to happen.. I wonder why."
"Whatever, Sparky." Nico said to her. "Come on Perce it's your turn."
"Oh Kelp head is gonna sing this I have to hear." Thalia said. My eyes connected with Percy and I made it clear that I wanted him to say nothing reguarding the scene from earlier.
"Come on Thals." I said pushing pass him and going in. We went back in to find that Piper and Silena moved up to the front row.
"Why are we in the front?" I asked taking the seat between Thalia and Silena. We were at the last four seats in the row. Ms Jenny had the seat three over from us and th eseats two down from her is where Nico, Percy, and Rachel had been sitting. All of the other people were spread out among the seats some in the middle others in back.
"We wanted to sit closer to stage." Silena answered.
"No, you wanted to sit closer to stage." Thalia corrected her.
"Potatoe, Potahtoe." Silena said waving her hand dismissingly causing Thalia to roll her eyes.
"So what did I miss?" I asked.
"Well, everybody else has sang except for Percy." Piper informed me. "All the guys were okay, and Rachel was..."
"What?" I asked."She was what?"
"It's not important." Thalia said.
"Yeah we know how much you don't like her anyway so-"
"Silena I swear to all that is holy if you don't tell me I will destroy all of your Gossip girl DVD's." I threatend her.
"She was amazing okay. Now please don't hurt my babies." She said. My eyes shot over to Rachel as she made sugsgestive faces at Percy while he was talking to Ms. Jenny about his song i'm guessing.
"How amazing?" I asked.
"Well you remember that year I made you came with me to the talent show?" Thalia asked.
"Yeah..."
"And we left to get hot dogs but while we were out side we heard this really good voice coming from the theater, but when we got back in there she was gone?"
"Your telling me Rachel was that girl?" I asked dumbdfunded adn she nodded.
"Sorry." Piper said. I didnt even know why I cared if she was good. I mean sure I didn't like her but it's not like I actually really wanted this part. It was just part of a punishment. A very cruel and unussual punishment.
"Okay everyone quiet down it's time for Percy to do his song." Ms Jenny said and evryone got quiet as Percy took the stage. "Now Percy this song is about Ryder trying to convince Julia that what they feel for eachother id perfectly fine and that he cares deeply for her and that he isn't planning on going anywhere or giving up on her."
"You've got to be shitting me?" I almost muttered.
"What?" Thals asked.
"Uhh...nothing."
"Now I know how guys are espescially you teen boys, when it comes to showing your feelings, but I need to see that you can really connect with your inner...Romeo."
"Not a problem." Percy said. He looked at me and our eyes connected. We probably would have kept looking at eachother if Ms. Jenny hadn't clapped.
"What was that?" Silena asked me.
"What was what?" I asked pplaying the dumb blonde I would never be.
"Percy Jackson looked at you."
"He did not."
"He did too." Piper said joining the discussion.
"You guys are crazy." I said giving a small laugh for emphasis. "Right Thals." Thalia looked at me funny but agreed with me.
"Yeah Jackson isn't that stupid." She said. Piper seemed to be ok for now but Silena looked unconvinced.
"Okay Percy so are you ready?" Ms Jenny asked.
"Ready , freddy." He said and Ms. Jenny did a very interesting giggle snort.
"Oh well alright then. Jake take to the piano." She said. Jake was was standing in the back on his phone. "Jake. Jake!" He hung up his cell.
"I'm sorry Marabell." He said. "But my little sister was just in a car accident so I have to go."
"Oh my is she alright?" Ms. Jenny asked.
"Yeah she's fine. Her car isn't running though and she's stuck on the side of the road so i need to pick her up."
"Okay, yeah thats fine i'll see tyou tomorrow." Jake nodded then ran out the room. "Well I guess we can just put this off until tomorrow." Groans were heard all around the room, mostly from Nico, Thalia, and me. I didn't understand Nico's groan becuase he was no longer required to be here. Thals groaned because she knew if I had to come back again to finish auditions she would be forced to coem with me. I guess the same would have happened to Nico with Percy.
"Uh...I can't, I have swimming." Percy said.
"Well the song needs a piano and we have no one to play." Ms. Jenny said. Percy looked conflicted for a moment as if trying to decied something. Finally he said,
"I can play." The room was quiet and everyone looked at himin shock.
"Wait a minute," i said without even thinking. "you, Percy Jackson, can play the piano?"
"Yes." He blushed from embarassment and rubbed the back of his neck. " My mother made me take lessons. I have been classicaly trained in the piano since the age of ten." I looked at him in pure shock and maybe a little awe. Out of all the things we would expect form Percy Jackson, knowing how to play the piano was not be one of them.
"Alright then." I said sitting back in my seat.
"Well do you think you can play this?" Ms. Jenny handed him the sheet music.
"Yeah, piece of cake." He said studying the page.
"Perfect." She grinned. " We also need a violin, so Bre if you don't mind." A short girl with black hair and glsses stood and made her way to the stage. She went behidn the curtains and came back with a violin and a stoll for herself to sit on.
"Okay start whenever your ready." Percy dragged the mic stand over to the Pianoand he set it up so it was at perfect length for him sitting down. He played a few cords of the song to get a hang of it before nodding at Ms. Jenny.
"Okay i'm ready." He said.

Percy started playing and the melody was slow kind of like when I sang , maybe a bit slower.

"GOD!" I finished probably looking even worse than them. Percy had an amazing voice. It was like...like...god I couldn't explain what it was like. But I swear everyone in this room just swooned boys, Ms. Jenny, and me included.
I sang starring at the sheet music. Wow this song is kind of dead on, i mean Annabeth clearly blames herself for having feelings for me and thats why she won't let herself admit it or give in to it.

I thought I was in love once with this girl named Calypso, but apparently it was a one sided thing. Long sad story short she cheated on me and I was heart broken. I always blamed myself for her cheating on me, thinking that maybe there was something I could have done differently when the truth was it just wasn't real.

But with Annabeth I can feel something there if only she would give me the chance to let us explore it. I looked over at to see that she was starring at in shock, as was everyone else in the room. I hope I didn't sound like a complete tone deaf moron up here.

Everything could come falling down if me and Percy were to ever get involved. Which is why i have to stay away from him.

Okay yeah i'll admit everytime i'm around Percy it feels like my heart beats faster than the speed of light. And I get butterflies in my stomach, and my hands gets sweaty and I get nervous. He...weakens me. His kiss completely shuts me down. That night at the party when he kissed me I swear I got light headed.

I completely threw myself into the song now. My head was kind of thrown back, my eyes were closed but I continued playing with my fingers moving as if I've known this song for years, and I sang my soul out. I even hit a high note which really actually kind of freaked me out.

ANNABETH POV
Percy finished his song and it was completely silent. Percy Jackson can play the piano. Percy Jackson can sing like an angel. Everyone was in shock right now and no one would be able to blame them. Percy awkwadrly rubbed the back of his neck like he always does when he's nervous.
"Uh...sorry if that was bad." He said.
"Your kidding right?" I said jumping up with out thinkin. "Percy that was...was amazing." I said. I noticed everyone starring at me questionable and I realized i had doen exactly what he had. "Um...yeah." I said sitting back down and wishing for sudden death.
"Well done Percy." Ms. Jenny said standing and it seemed to break the daze because everyone started clapping. Ms Jenny noticed the extra nois and turned around to see the extra girls. "What on- where did you girls come from?"
"Oh we were on our way to the dance studio for practice." One girl said.
"But then we heard Percy's amazing singign and wanted to see." Finished another girl while starring at Percy with love struck eyes. I rolled my eyes. I recognized the girls as Lacey and Megan. They are freshmen adn cousins of Piper and Silena.
"Lacey, Megan get to class now." Piper said. The girls groaned but left.
"Freshmen." Thalia said rolling her eyes.
"Percy I have to ask, how did you get so in dept with that song?" Ms Jenny ask.
"Uh...well I guess I just got into Ryder's shoes. I imagined having a girl that I connected with annd cared so much about." He looked at me while talking. "I imagined how exposed she makes me feel and how all I want her to do is let me get the chance to prove that no matter what our families say we can be together." It was silent and Percy realized he was starring at me. "Ahem...I mean you know thats what Ryder would say."
All the girls in the room swooned again and I swear I heard sighs.
"Very good Percy." Ms. Jenny said. Percy got down from the stage and went to sit back over with Nico and Rachel, but not before sending me one last look.
"Okay see now i'm completely sure he looked at you." Piper said.
"Yeaah Annie I've got to go with Pipes on this." Thalia said looking at me skeptically.
"Listen guys I don't know what to tell you." I said. "Percy was not looking at me. It's a crazy thought to think he was."
"Crazy but yet he totaly was." Piper said. "Right Silena?" No answer. "Silena?" We all turned to look at silena who was dabbing her eye with a kleenex.
"Are you...crying?" Thalia asked.
"That song...was so beautiful." She said. "And then the whole thing about wanting to show her how weak she made him and everything." She started to whipe her eyes more.
"Okay, love monkey just...calm down." Thalia said. "It wasn't that amazing."
"Are you deaf?" Silena said to her. "He pourd his soul into that song as if he was really trying to convince someone in this room of how much he cared. " She let loose some more tears.
"Alrigh she is a little out of it." I said. "You should probably take her somewhere...not here." I told Piper.
"Yeah," She nodded. "come on sis. I'll take you to see charlie." Piper pulled the weeping girl up and started to the door.
"Oh and yes Annabeth there was definitly something going on between the two of you." Silena said before walking out the door.
"HA! IN YOUR FACE!" Piper yelled. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow and she recomposed herself. "Ahem...see you later" With that said she left. I turned back to Thalia who was looking at me skeptically.
"What? Nothing is going on." I said.
"Mmmhmmm. Just like the thing that happened the night of the party never happened either." She said.
"Alright everyone thats it for today thankyou for coming out." Ms. Jenny said. "The list will be posted on the board in the cafeteria tomorrow morning. If your name is there come see me for a briefly during the day so we can talk practice schedule and you can meet the rest of the cast." The bell rang right after that and we all got up to left.
"Something weird is going on here." Thalia said. "I can feel it in my ass."
"Your ass?" I questioned while trying not to laugh.
"Yeah. It's like how my hand itches and I end up gettting a lot money soon, or how my foot starts to tingle and I end up having to kick somebody's ass latter that day."
"So what does your ass tell you?" I asked her.
"It tingles and I know that theres some BS goign on."
"You sure it's just not you needing to S?" I asked and laughed at her.
"Hahaha. laugh all you want but I know. Something happened between you guys out in the hall. Tell me what happened."
"You were there you saw." I said.
Nico, Rachel, and Percy walked by us and to the door. "Uh...bye Annabeth." Percy said.
"Yeah, bye." I said pushing my hair back even though it probably didn't need it. He smiled quickly and left just as quick.
"Okay seriously what the hell happened when you were out in the hall?" She asked and just shook my head.
"Come on lets go." I pulled her out the room and tword the parking lot. She kept askiong questions about Percy and I kept denying and laughing but really i was panic on inside. No one can know what happened, and Thalia's ass was going to ruin that.
