Chapter 14 – Just a dream...

Natsu and I meet the rest of the waiters. (There are only two though)

"I'm Sherry." The pink hair girl smiles.

"I am Hibiki," Hibiki says coquettishly as he places a hand on my back and holds my hand, "And who might you be?"

"Lucy." I reply blandly and move away slightly.

"And I'm Natsu." He swings an arm around my shoulder and anchors me towards him.

"Are you two in love?" Sherry sings.

"What?" I flick my head towards her, "No!" I finally shove Natsu's heavy arm off my shoulder.

"Oh," Hibiki starts, "That means me and you can-"

"No." Natsu shakes his head. I shake my head also.

"We should start now, customers are arriving." Yukino looks to the entrance.

I look to the door and I watch the others seat a customer before I do.

I take a deep breath and then go and seat my first customer, you got this Lucy.

"Hello," I smile at the 20 year old man with midly short spiky dark blue/purple hair.

He stares at me, "Hello there" with a smile.

"A table for one?" I ask.

"Yes," He nods kittenishly, "Unless you'd like to join me..."

"Haha..." I smile uncomfortably.

"I was just kidding." He laughs as I lead him to a small table.

"So what's your name?" He says curiously as he takes a seat.

"Lucy." I smile politely.

"Lucy? What a lovely name." He comments with a small smile, "I'm Bora."

"Here's the menu." I lay out a menu, "I'll come back to take your order.

"Alright." He says as he reads over it.

I walk away, with my nerves relaxing. Good job Lucy.

"How are you, Lucy-sama?" Yukino asks with concern.

"I'm fine." I smile in return.

I glance at Natsu who seemed to be taking an order. I hope he doesn't muck it up...

I go and seat couple of people before returning back to Bora.

"Have you decided?" I ask.

"Why yes I have, I'll take the Spicy Chicken Pate." He says as I take out a small pad and scribble that down.

"Is that all?" I ask.

"Yes, Lucy." He smiles over-familiarly.

I walk back behind the counter and hand the order to the kitchen staff.

"Thanks Lucy!" Max shouts from the kitchen.

Natsu grins as he goes to the kitchen counter to collect the food on a tray, "Hey Luce."

"Hey." I reply until I notice Natsu casually taking chips from the plates before he starts walking to the table.

"Natsu!" I shout just loud enough so he halts. He turns around cluelessly.

"What?" He knits his eyebrows as he takes another chip and stuffs it in his gob.

"What are you doing?" I say with annoyance as I feel the vein on my head begin to pop out.

"Serving people." He looks at me peculiarly.

"You are not supposed to eat the food!" I scold as I place my hands on my hips.

"But I was hungry..." He murmurs.

"So?!" I respond with an unimpressed look.

"It was only a few chips they won't notice." He dismisses casually.

"That's not the point!" I snap.

"Don't over react." He tells me as he continues walking to the customer.

"Are you okay, Lucy?" Hibiki walks up to me whilst holding empty plates.

"Yep, I'm fine." I grit my teeth; still staring at Natsu.

I seat other customers then serve Bora his food.

"Thank you." He says as he stares at me.

"You're welcome." I smile as I'm about to walk away.

"So what school do you go too?" He asks again with curiousity.

I turn around and hesitantly say, "Fairy Tail..."

"Interesting." He smiles, but it makes me shiver.

I turn to walk away and rush off; hoping he won't stop me again.

I continue working as hard as I can until the day is finally over.

"You did well today, Lucy-sama." Yukino smiles as we enter the changing rooms along with Sherry.

"Thanks Yukino." I smile back.

I grab my back with my uniform I changed from. I decide there's no point changing since, I'm going home.

"I was wondering, um, if you know Sting-sama?" Yukino asks as she glances to my hand.

"Yeah, I do. He's in some of my classes." I laugh nervously as I try to cover my hand.

"Are you in love?" Sherry sings again as she grabs my hand.

"No way!" I shout and yank my arm away from her.

"So where do guys go?" I ask; glancing at them both.

"Lamia." Sherry says. I nod.

"Sabertooth Academy." Yukino says.

"Sabertooth? Sting used to go there, right?" I ask curiously.

"Yes, and Rogue-sama. But they are now in Fairy Tail, with you and Natsu-sama." Yukino explains.

I nod.

"Its getting late. See you guys tomorrow!" I wave as I walk out of the changing room to see Natsu waiting outside with boredom.

"What took you so long?" He asks as he yawns.

"Nothing, Let's go." I say as head for the door.

"Our first day wasn't too bad, right Natsu?" I smile with an accomplished look as we Natsu and I walk out.

"Yeah, the food was great!" Natsu exclaims.

I shoot him a look.

"I mean, it went good." He chuckles.

"Remember, you and your stomach is what caused this in the first place." I remind.

"Yeah, yeah." He says absent-mindedly

I then look ahead at the path.

"You still have that on?" Natsu says with a tinge of agitation as he reaches for my wrist and holds it lightly.

"Well," I start, "I-"

"Just wash it off when you get home." He interrupts as he examines it again.

"Yeah I will." I say quietly as I stare at my feet. And instead of letting go he continues to hold my wrist. I don't know why I start blushing.

"Y-you know, you worry too much..." I murmur nervously.

"No I don't." He pouts cutely, "I worry 'bout all my friends."

"But you make a big deal out of the smallest things." I say.

"They ain't the smallest things then." He frowns slightly.

I sigh.

"But it's you." He says softly.

"Me?" I stare at him.

"I worry 'cos it's you." He looks away. I feel a blush coming on.

"Natsu..." I soften as my heart warms and we stop in front of my door. He lets my wrist go.

I enter my house and He follows so closely behind that we're almost touching. He then collapses on my bed and sprawls one arm out whilst unbuttoning his shirt.

I watch him, but blush and glance away when I see peeks of his muscular body.

"I-I'm going to have a shower." I fumble and rush off into the bathroom; almost tripping over my own feet.

I stand in the shower for awhile; letting the warm water hit my body.
He worries because it's me? Why am I blushing all of a sudden. I don't even like him like that, I mean Lisanna does. He could like Lisanna as well since those two are close, wait why do I even care who he likes? He's Natsu, like he has a clue about girls. Anyway he's just a friend.

Once I finish my shower I walk out to see that Natsu isn't on my bed, in fact he doesn't seem to be here at all. Maybe he left, but usually he'd just fall asleep on my bed?

I dismiss my thoughts and hop into my bouncy bed. I then drift off to sleep...

"Lucy," A familiar voice grumbles in my ear, I shift around and feel a hard chest,

"Natsu, is that you?" I whisper, I open my eyes but only to see darkness of the night.

"Lucy," He mumbles again and hooks an arm around my waist causing me to gasp.

I try to push him away but he hugs me closer and tighter to him.

"Natsu." I whisper again but he doesn't answer. I think he's asleep.

"I won't let anyone take you away from me..." Natsu says quietly but amorously as he imprisons me in his strong arms.

I feel secure and safe and the next thing I know my eyes begin to lull shut...

"AH!" I jolt up from my bed to the sound of the ringing alarm clock. My heart is pumping fast.

I feel my cheeks which were burning hot.

Then I remember.

"Natsu!" I pat my bed and glance around my room, but he was nowhere. I swear he was here? Wait, it was a dream, but what a weird dream.

I mean, it was just a dream...right?
