Eric sent Caleb away to the garage before the police showed while he and the other boys waited in silence for the police to arrive. As they waited, Toby parked his car near them and got out with a shocked expression on his face just as the police sirens were heard.

-"Melissa. Thank God, are you ok?" Toby made his way to his future sister in law. He gave her a quick hug, focusing his attention on her for a split second before turning his head to look at the debris scattered around the street. His eyes narrowed when he saw Eric and his boys standing near their motorcycles. "Melissa, you mind telling me what the Phantoms are doing here?" He turned his head back to her while the rest of the policemen started questioning the boys.

-"Eric and I are living together. I called him, asking to come by my office right before it exploded." Melissa sighed when she saw Toby's raised eyebrow. "It's a long story. Bottom line is that after my stalker trashed my house I moved in with Eric. I came back today to get my laptop from inside the building and the place was trashed. So I got out and I called Eric. When he and his brothers arrived the building blew up."

-"I see. Was there anyone else inside with you when you got here? Did something else happen?" Toby wrote down everything Melissa said. He noticed she was starting to shake and stopped. "Do you want me to give you a coat? Are you feeling ok? Melissa?"

-"I'm fine. There was a message on the wall, Toby. My stalker basically threatened me and said they were coming after me. And I'm scared that if the police don't find this person soon Eric will step in and try to find them and things might get ugly."

-"I know this is a lot to take in, but I need to know. Is it possible that anyone from the Phantoms might be behind this? Or some competing club? Could this be caused by someone else and not your stalker?" Toby noticed Eric turn his head towards him, a dark look in his eyes.

-"No. The Phantoms are not behind this, Toby. They've been doing everything they could to keep me safe these past few weeks. And neither are the Devil's Sons. They have an understanding of not coming after me. I work as an attorney for both MCs. Whoever this person is they are not a part of either MC."

-"Ok. I'll look into this and try to figure out what's going on. But I can't keep this a secret from Spencer anymore. She'll have my head and yours for keeping it from her. If you don't want to talk to her that's fine. But you should at least tell your parents what's going on." Toby closed his notebook and put his arm around Melissa's shoulder, forcing her to turn her head and stare into his eyes. "Normally I would recommend you run away as far as possible from Eric, but right now I can't think of a safer place for you to be. I'll keep you in touch with how the investigation is going. In the meanwhile I advise you to be very careful of your surroundings."

-"Will do. Toby don't say anything to Spencer just yet. I'll tell my parents about it. Thank you for coming." Melissa hugged him and smiled at him while Eric gritted his teeth. The police had finished questioning him and the boys and they were now waiting for her. Toby smiled at her and then nodded his head in their direction before making his way to the CSI team, asking for details about the investigation. "Baby, you're not allowed to kill him. That's my future brother in law. You kill him, my sister becomes upset. Spencer becomes upset and I'll kill you. Are we clear?" Melissa made her way to Eric and let him wrap her in his arms. She settled for breathing in his scent and tried to calm down.

-"Come on. I'm taking you home." Eric kissed the top of her head, leading her to her car. Once she was inside the passenger seat he threw his keys to Wren. "Have Lucas take my bike to the garage. I'll pick it up later. Alex, take Holden and keep an eye on Olivia, the girl working for Phoenix. I don't want to see her get hurt because of this shit." Eric made his way to the car and starting the engine, he drove back to his house.

Melissa spoke on the phone all the way back home. She called her clients to let them know about her office. When they reached the house Eric dragged her inside his office. She sat down on the couch, noticing the grim look on his face.

-"You can work from here for the time being. It will be easier for me to protect you. One of my boys will keep an eye out for your friend as well. Phoenix? How are you holding up?" Eric headed to his minibar and poured two glasses of whiskey. He brought one to Melissa and she took it quietly.

-"Scared, shocked, mostly angry, and definitely upset that I dragged you into this mess. " Melissa took a sip from her glass while Eric finished his and set it on the coffee table. "I should have kept my distance from you Eric. Who knows what this person is really capable of? They trashed my place and destroyed my office building. I'm scared of what they might do to you. And I'm also scared of what you might do to him if you find out who he is."

-"I take it I'm not allowed to kill him?" Eric listened to her, watching for signs of distress on her face. He removed her glass from her hand once she finished it and then he pulled her into his lap. Melissa let her head fall on his shoulder, her arms wrapped around his. They remained like that for a while until she finally managed to calm down. Suddenly a loud banging came from the front door, interrupting them.

Eric headed to the front door and stepped aside, surprised to see a very pissed off Peter Hastings standing on his doorstep. Peter walked inside the house, his hands clenched at his side. "I want to see my daughter. Where is she?" His angry voice echoed through the silent hallway to the study, making Melissa come out from it.

-"Dad? What are you doing here?" Melissa cringed when she saw her dad standing there. She was hoping to avoid talking to him for a while longer, at least until she was calm and got her emotions in check. Eric's cell went off with a message alert.

-"I need to go into church, love. Lucas just came over with my bike. He'll be around in case you need anything." Eric gave her a small kiss before heading out the door. "Mr. Hastings."

-"Go pack your stuff. I'm taking you home with me." Peter waited until Eric left the house before explaining the reason for his visit. "One of my sources in the Kenscott police department called and informed me of your problem. So go pack your stuff, I want us to leave this place as soon as possible."
