A/N: Hello my lovely minions! Did you know, ( well obviously you don't, or you do because you're a psychic... whichever) that I actually wasn't going to update at all. I've been extremely angry with you people reading this story. Even my regular reviewers! I understand that life is difficult sometimes and we don't always have time to do things, I get that. But seriously? I check the statistics often, and what do I see? I see that even though over two thousand people have glanced at this story, I had only had eighteen reviews, and that number stayed for about two chapters. I was not happy... Luckily one of my most awesome minions ATrueHufflepuff13 saved the day for you guys!
Therefore, for the time being, ATH gets the title, The Most Awesomest Supreme Commander Minion Of All Time And Relative Dimension In Space, Her Royal Highness, Princess Of The Hearth!
YAY! *huge round of applause* the chapter is dedicated to her, and ATH will be helping me with the disclaimer, so hold on to everything, because this is going to be awesome! But first, Review Comments! ( I've decided to rename that because I hardly ever answer anything and usually end up rambling about my opinion :P )
ATrueHufflepuff13: YAY YOU'RE BACK! *tackle hug* You have no idea how happy it makes me to see the reviews you leave me! They're always so nice and I love that you guess about things the way I do! I sort of planned that Annabella would be the peoples favorite, and I can't spoil anything, but she is about to be AWESOME! I think I might have to PM you because this looks like this Authors Note is getting out of control! (by the way I SHIP IT! :D :D :D Jake and Bella sitting in a tree A-R-G-U-I-N-G and then end up K-I-S-S-I-N-G!)
( if you want to check out ATH's stories, and I wholeheartedly recommend that you do, search for her on hear, or click this link! u/4459362/ATrueHufflepuff13 ) ( For Harry Potter fans, I recommend Proposing At Christmastime, and Romione: Distance, both of which can be found on the above link!)
DISCLAIMER TIME!
*Le me is crying in a corner*
ATH: WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU CRYING ABOUT?! Seriously, this has been going on for ages!
Me: No one likes me enough to review! *sobs*
ATH: Are you serious? *headdesk* FINE! I'll make you a deal. Give me the sole ownership of PJO and I'll review!
Me:Really?! YAY! Review first then I'll fill out the paperwork!
ATH: {mini time lapse} DONE! Now gimme!
Me: *runs away* I would, but kat'n'kat does not own PJO! YES REVIEWS!
ATH: *chases me with a sword while yelling her head off at me*
Okay, just so you know, that did not actually happen, and I really don't own PJO... sadly... *tear* but if I did *evil laugh* we would have a lot of fun!
ON TO THE STORY!
Aislin's POV
After I calmed myself down, I quickly took a shower and got dressed. Then I looked at the clock and groaned. I should have looked at the clock first. It was 5:45 in the morning, and I had a good hour and a half before breakfast. I decided to just stay in my cabin and ended up curled up in one of the armchairs with one of the books from the shelves. After reading a few chapters of a book about a young wizard in training at a school for witchcraft and wizardry, the clock read 6:30. I put the book back on the shelf and saw that there were six other books in the series all very thick and had the boy holding a wand while doing completely illogical things. I would have to read them later. I didn't have time now. Shame, they looked interesting. I grabbed a black crochet shawl to keep off the dew and headed outside to find my way to camp. I pushed through the ivy and tried to remember the way I had come with Chiron. I saw the part that looked familiar and quickly walked through it. The trail curved around things that were much easier to avoid in daylight. I crossed the fallen tree over the ravine and ran the rest of the way to the path we had started on, disturbing some dryads who were asleep. I called out an apology and kept going. When I finally reached the path I stopped running and walked, enjoying the peace and quiet. The birds were just starting to sing and the grass was wet underfoot. I loved the forest. It was one of the places I truly felt content, and I loved spending time walking, or climbing in it after I had had a bad day. Put in a little music and life was heaven. Speaking of music, the birds were really starting to wake up now, and the forest's symphony was tuning. I hummed a tune that I thought of on the spot and listened as the chirps added depth and twists to it. I could stay here all day, but I didn't have the luxury, and Chiron said things might attack me. So I forged ahead and finally reached the edge of the forest. I stepped into the valley and looked around. It was 7:15 now and cabins were emptying out and heading to the dining pavilion I joined the mass exodus and went in with everyone else. I grabbed a few pieces of toast and some strawberries and dropped them in the fire as I went past muttering a quick prayer on my way past. I didn't even bother staying. I knew there wasn't a table for me, and the rules said we couldn't sit with other cabins. I just walked out. I would see my friends later and other than Chiron I was pretty sure no one else would miss me. I ate my toast and the strawberry I hadn't sacrificed as I walked and stopped outside my first class, archery. I grabbed my bow and arrows from the shed and sat on the sidelines in the shadows and waited for the class to arrive. I realized that I probably should have brought the book with me; they were bound to take a while. As I mentally debated the pros and cons of going back to get it. The class arrived and I was unable to make a decision. Mildly disappointed I got up and startled them. I realized they had thought they would have to wait for me. I smiled a little and they just got their things and went to practice. I shot targets for an hour and then went to go find my friends. I figured I should probably let them know I hadn't been eaten. I found Tiffany and Emma by the sword arena. I talked to them for a bit then asked where Annabella was. Their reply made me roll my eyes in utter exasperation. She was off looking for me. Of course she was. Classic Bells. Can't find a friend, panics and looks all over for them. I told them to let her know where I was and went into the arena for my next class with the Ares campers. I went over to the table where the swords were laid out. I looked at them with distaste. I didn't like close hand combat. I would do it if it was needed, but I'd rather stay away from the thick of it and help by working to heal people or feed them. Whichever came first. Actually I hated combat in general. I was fine with practicing it, but actually participating in battle and wounding or killing? No, not for me, thank you kindly! Jacob was in the class and I guess that he figured out what I was thinking, because he came over to talk to me about different weapons.
"You already know about swords and daggers and spears right? I know you do because you've worked with swords and you have a dagger."
I nodded
"Well there are also long range weapons." He continued "Like bows and arrows, javelins, and crossbows. Then there are throwing knives."
I was now confused I had heard of and/or worked with all of them except throwing knives. The name seemed self explanatory, but I had yet to see them in use. He explained how to use them and got me some. He moved a practice dummy over about two yards and told me to stand at a mark in the dirt and throw until I hit it then call him over. I threw one, and hit it.
"Ummmm Jacob, it hit it..." He walked over with a surprised expression.
"How many have you thrown?" "One. Obviously... I still have the others in my hand."
He went to inspect the dummy. He came back bewildered. "Have you done this before?!" He asked
"No. Before this morning I had never seen these before. Why? Have I done something wrong ?" He looked at me like I was an inanimate object that started talking to him.
"See for yourself!" I followed him over to the dummy. Right in the dead center of its chest was the knife. He told me to go back to the mark and throw another. He moved it 6 yards away. I threw and nailed it again. He went over to a guy in full armor and spoke to him for a few minutes. By that time class had ended. He came over followed by the guy.
"Can you stay after class please?" Jacob asked.
This was a problem "No. Unfortunately I can't." This time it was the other guy who spoke.
"Why not! This is important!" Who was this guy?
"I'm sorry, but I need to go locate Annabella. She's been looking for me because she didn't see me at breakfast this morning. And to be candid, I don't really want to stay." The guy took off his helmet. Oh, now I knew who this guy was. He was Corbin Despereaux, son of Hecate. He was deadly accurate with blades of all kinds. He had white blonde hair and pale skin with blackish purple eyes, and he REALLY creeped me out. He was one of the older campers in the Hecate cabin.
"We are going to test your abilities." Jacob butted in. "As the daughter of Hestia your scent is very strong. We need to train you with weapons that you feel comfortable using so you are able to protect yourself. Go find Bella and come back."
I sighed. What I really wanted to do was go to my cabin and read. "Fine, but I will bring Annabella with me. I need to speak to her afterwards." Jacob nodded acceptance and Corbin rolled his eyes and went back to disembodying dummies. I walked out and went on my search. I found her at the lake. She was angry but calmed down when I explained my reasons and agreed to come with me to the evaluation thing.
I give a HUGE thanks to everyone who reviews, and lots of hugs! Keep up the awesomeness! And to everyone else, don't accept candy or rides from strangers, stay away from alcohol until you are legally allowed to drink, don't smoke, always buckle your seat belt, and don't forget to Review, Favorite, and follow!
