Hello readers!

So, my friend always reads these before I post them, and her one comment was "I want more of the kitten." You may remember the cat from Chapter Two. So, here is more kitten!

Also, if you have any character requests or want a sequel to a drabble I have already created, mention it in the review and I'll see what I can do!

Now, on with the show!

"I can't take care of it... Can I?"

"That's your call, mellon nín, not mine."

"But, I mean, I'm a warrior. I have to return to Ithilien."

"You could take him with you."

Legolas looked at Aragorn incredulously. "How do you expect me to keep track of this cat the entire way from Minas Tirith to Ithilien?"

"Maybe that's how you decide," Aragorn suggested. "The cat is still wild at heart. If he remains with you all the way to Ithilien, than you keep him as your own. If he wanders away, it was not meant to be, and he continues to wander as before."

Legolas considered this suggestion, then nodded. "Very well. If he stays with me, I will keep him. If not, may the Valar keep him."

The next morning, Legolas left for Ithilien, a small furry bundle in his arms as he rode away.

Not long after their journey began, the kitten began to squirm. Soon the cat escaped the elf's arms, jumped from the horse, and dashed into the forest.

Well, that was that.

Over the course of that day, Legolas found himself feeling very lonely. He was amazed; he had known the kitten for only a few short weeks, and yet, his companionship had become a part of the elf's heart.

That night, Legolas set camp in a small clearing in the forest. He had traveled many miles, most of them without the kitten. Finally tearing his mind from the furry friend, Legolas lay down and went to sleep.

His Elven senses registered him, though he did not wake. A silky shadow made its way toward the elf, and Legolas welcomed it subconsciously. The kitten curled into a ball next to Legolas' head, purring softly with contentment.

The next morning, the elf was shocked to find a ball of fur covering his eyes.

Lifting the sleepy kitten into his arms, he smiled brightly, as if he were attempting to outshine the sun.

"So, you do want to come with me. Very well. I'll do my best to take care of you, if you will do your best to return to me every night. Got it?"

The kitten mewed in agreement.

Legolas smiled. "Gwathor. That's what I'll call you. My little Shadow."

The kitten purred loudly, butting his head against Legolas' palm. For a moment, the elf could have sworn he saw the little rascal smile.
