My eyes flashed opened to the sound of water running. What did I do last night? I will not lie and say I do not remember what I did because I know exactly what I did. How will I ever live with myself now? How will Grant feel when he finds out? That is if he does find out. No! Bad Kori! You need to tell him what happened. It is only fair to him.

"Morning beautiful," Richard's voice rang.

I couldn't help but turn to him and smile. I felt a breeze as my back side was revealed from the covers shifting. "Morning," I replied shyly.

He was only in a white towel and there was still droplets of water on his chest. He knelt down and attached his lips to mine. "I guess that red silk did a lot more than we thought."

"I didn't sleep with you!" I said a little too loud.

Richard took a seat on the bed and studied me. "You don't have to feel guilty-

"Are you kidding me?" I asked shaking my head. "How can I not feel guilty about this whole thing? Grant and I may not be on the best path right now but it does not make it right for me to cheat." I looked down ready to let my tears fall.

"Can I ask you something?" he asked.

I didn't look at him but nodded.

His fingers danced against my cheek. "Do you love me?"

My tears fell. "I never stopped."

"Then why are-

I moved his fingers away. "Because he saved my life!" I exclaimed looking up at him.

His face softened, his eyes telling me that he understood.

"I at least owe him something," I admitted. Face the truth Kori. "If it wasn't for Grant then I probably wouldn't be here. He is a good guy and one of my dearest friends and I cannot help but feel as if...as if...if-

Richard pulled me into a hug and I felt his fingers caress my hair. "Please don't cry."

"I can't be with you right now," I said.

He pulled away from me.

"I want to be with you but now isn't a very good time," I told him. "Give me some time to make things right with Grant and then I promise I'm yours."

"Forever?" he asked.

I couldn't help but pull him into a kiss. I do miss his kisses. They taste so much different than Grant's, they taste perfect. I pulled away and placed my forehead against his. "Always," I whispered.

His fingers found mine and they clasped together. "Don't take too long."

I gave him a nod before removing myself from his presence. It didn't take long for me to get ready and leave the house. Lucky for me, Kom was waiting patiently downstairs with a grin on her face. I didn't have time to talk to her but I promised I would fill her in on the details later.

Grant wasn't in the house when I arrived so that meant he either left somewhere or he was out helping my father and brother. I greeted my mother, made some small talk, and headed upstairs for a shower. Couldn't talk to him when I smell. I stalled in the shower, scrubbing the same spot on my skin a hundred times and cleaning my hair twice. I never had to tell anyone that I cheated on them and want to break up and be friends. I mean how do you even go on about that? I've dated only one person before and he was Richard. In my twenty years of life I've only had two boyfriends.

I stepped into the kitchen all clean and good smelling. "Mom?" I asked.

She looked up from her current task, baking pies no surprise, and tilted her head. "Yes dear?"

"Where's Grant?" I asked.

"In the shed," she told me. "Oh he did say something about speaking to you in private."

I scrunched up my lips and nodded. "Talk?"

"Yes dear," she replied.

I grabbed my jacket from the hook and placed it on. You're doing this for the both of you Kori. He deserves someone better than me and I deserve...Richard.

I climbed up to the second floor of the barn and smiled when I saw Grant. He was stacking up boxes on one side of the wall. "Hey," I greeted.

He turned to me and flashed me a smile. "You're back! How was it?" he asked.

I walked over to him slowly. "It was good. I think I passed the test. How was your day?"

"I had a meeting at work," he told me.

"Really?" I asked.

He gave me a nod and stacked up one more box. He turned to me, wiping the sweat off his forehead. "Wanna sit?" he asked pointing to the couch.

I gave him a nod and followed him over to sit. We didn't cuddle which was weird because we always did that when sitting together.

"There's something I need to tell you!" we both said at the same time.

I let out a giggle and he let out a chuckle.

"Um-

"You go first," he told me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and the floor looked very interesting to me. "Well...you know that Dick stayed over last night as well."

"Yeah?" he asked.

"Um well...I did something," I started. "And I'm not sure how you are going to take the news and I totally understand if you hate me after this and I really do have feelings for you Grant but not the same feelings I have for Richard. I love you I truly do but-

"Not in a way that means forever?" he asked.

I looked up at him and nodded. "You-

"I understand Kori," he told me. He let out a chuckle. "Actually I was going to say something similar to you. My job wants me to relocate to Miami with a promotion as manager. I couldn't deny the offer and I leave this Sunday. I thought long and hard about our relationship, I really did and I've come to realize that we're really not meant to be together...not like that. I saw the way you looked at Dick when he came over a few weeks ago and well...that for me just said it all."

"I'm sorry," I said.

He grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. "You don't have to apologize for anything. I don't care what you did with him while you two were together and I really don't want to find out. You'll always be my first love whether it meant forever or not." He pulled me away and looked down into my eyes.

"And you will always hold a special place in my heart," I told him letting a tear fall down. I'm not sure why I'm crying. Whether it is because I know Grant will be leaving or because I couldn't ask for a better friend. "You are my protector. Do not forget that." I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.

He let out a chuckle. "Alright alright! Don't get to handsy now or I'll regret this decision."

"Mind if I go to talk to Richard?" I asked him. "I feel much better now that I spoke to you about this."

He stood up and held out his hand. "Not a problem at all. I have to finish up anyways and head to work in an hour."

I grabbed his hand and stood up to give him another hug. "Thank you again."

Richard sounded surprised when I called him and asked if he wanted to meet up at the park later tonight. I guess he expected me to take a few days or a week to get back to him. I was just happy to finally make things right in my life.

I made sure to dress cute that night. Nothing too fancy, I went with a sweater dress, tights, boots, and of course my winter jacket. Gotham city is having another snow fall tonight and I am not in the mood to get sick.

I waited on one of the swing sets, twisting the seat so the rope spun me around. The second time I came to a complete stop and Richard was standing a few inches away from me smiling.

"You are such a child," he told me.

I jumped in his arms and made him fall back in the snow.

His arms snaked around my waist. "Someone is happy to see me. You saw me this morning and you weren't even that happy."

"I came to a conclusion," I said.

"Oh?" he asked amused. "And what conclusion is that?"

"I realize I have an undying love for you and we are soul mates, meant to be together and forever!" I sounded like a little girl but right now I really don't care. I grabbed his face and brought his lips onto mine.

He pushed me away for a moment and I sat up, straddling his waist. "So you're single?"

"I would hope not," I said with a grin.

"Why you little-

"Richard no!" I exclaimed as he flipped me over so I laid on my back.

He picked up a pile of snow and held it over my face. "Someone is hungry for snow."

"No!" I yelled in horror.

"Tell me that you love me," he ordered. "And then I'll think about not dumping this on you."

I let out a giggle and realized how much I love this playful side of him. "I love you Richard now please drop the snow down."

"Okay," he said with glee and dropped the snow on my face.

The cold immediately contacted my skin and it felt like death. I sat up, clearing away all the snow, and glared at the person who did this. "But-

"You said to drop the snow," he pointed out.

"This means war," I simply said.

The next fifteen minutes or so we played in the snow and wrestled each other to the ground. I was having a blast but it was Richard who reminded me that we might get sick if we stay out any longer. He put the heat on blast once we were in his car, I had Ryan drop me off since he needed the truck for a date.

"Want to have a sleep over?" he asked.

I tapped my chin and I mocked thought in my head. "Well I have a busy schedule tonight so I'm going to have to check with my secretary."

He let out a laugh before driving out of the park's parking lot.

I have never been in Richard's apartment...apartment? More like a house. There's three bedrooms, one for him, one for Wally, and another for a guest. Four bathrooms, a large kitchen that separated into a dining room, a living room with windows everywhere that had the best view of the city, a few extra closets, and let's not forgot about that half of the roof top is his and there's a hot tub.

"Wow," was all I said.

Richard tossed the keys on the kitchen counter and removed his jacket. "I know its a lot, especially for me, but this was Bruce's gift for me."

"This was a gift?" I asked looking at him.

Richard nodded as he walked over to the fridge. "Yea Bruce gave me this when I came back from California." He took out a bottle of wine. "Some nice cold Pinot Grigio?"

I nodded in delight. "Yes please!"

He brought me over to the living room and I was delighted by the view. "They look like little fire flies!"

Richard pulled me down on the couch. "Again you are such a child."

I puckered up my lips at him and he gladly kissed them.

"Hey Dick-

I pulled away from Richard and turned around to see Wally standing, mouth opened, and eyes wide.

He nervously chuckled. "I was going to ask if you wanted to grab a bite to eat but it seems as though you'll be eating something else tonight." Richard grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at Wally who caught it. "Don't wait up for me!" he called and he ran off.

Richard turned my chin so I was looking up at him again. "Where was I?"

I placed my arms around his neck and leaned in closer. "We were doing something like this." I closed the gap between us.

We didn't even get to finish our wine. Richard had picked me up from the couch with my legs tightly wrapped around his waist. His tongue felt so moist and tasty and I couldn't complain. My back found the bed and my clothes found the floor.

"You don't understand how much I've missed you," he said, his breath hot against my chest.

I nearly melted in goo. "Show me."

He brought my head down so he could kiss me on the lips. "I love you."

And the rest was for my eyes only.

It took me an hour to decided to put up this chapter or not and the reason is well this is the end.

I didn't plan on making this a long story so I think 15 chapters is fine. I'm ended the series with this story and I think I did a pretty good job and judging by the reviews...you guys loved it too. Honestly, if it wasn't for the positive reviews of the first story then I probably wouldn't have made a sequel. Stay tuned for the epilogue and I will be updating you on my next story(s).
