Two Months Later
"I don't give a damn what progress you think you are getting, Forbes!" Alaric hollered on the other side of the phone, causing Caroline to pull the phone away from her ear. "You've been down there for over a month going on two, and you haven't gotten anywhere!" He stated, harshly.
Caroline closed her eyes. Oh, if he only knew where she was actually getting. "Alaric, I'm getting deeper into the organization. In fact, I'm very close to one of the lieutenants." She replied, not telling how close she was.
Alaric sighed. "How close are you? Are you sleeping with him?" He asked, though she could hear the accusation in his voice.
Caroline sighed, and bowed her head. "I'm very close, Alaric. I haven't gained his trust completely yet." Even though he's already gained mine, for the most part. She added in her thoughts.
Alaric sighed. "Alright, Forbes, I'll keep you down there, but if you don't provide us with something to go on, I will personally pull you out of this assignment and stick you to a desk, permanently."
"Yes, sir." She whispered, hearing the line cut off. "Oh, fuck you." She whispered, gripping the phone tightly in her hands.
"I take it; he didn't believe you?" Katherine remarked from the tree behind Caroline.
Caroline shook her head. "He's giving me more time, but he wants something to go on." She replied, in aggravation.
Katherine nodded, and pushed away from the tree. "We'll think of something, Forbes." She remarked with a mischievous gleam in her eyes.
Caroline smiled and nodded. "I don't want to blow this assignment, Kat." She whispered, moving to the park bench and sitting down.
Katherine nodded. "I know." She returned, sitting next to her friend.
"I mean, I've been down here two months, and all I've got to show for it, are a few deals with the Hybrid, and a relationship that I don't understand." She ranted, placing her forearms on her legs and bending over.
Katherine smiled at the wording. "You care a great deal for Klaus, don't you?" She asked, watching Caroline groan, and stand up.
"I didn't plan on it, Kat." She stated, running her fingers through her hair. "I mean, I see him treat so many people in the business with cruelty and a firm hand, but when he's with me…" She trailed off, shaking her head.
"You see the good." Katherine whispered, with a small smile.
Caroline nodded, and groaned. "Why did he have to be so charming and sexy and…perfect?" She asked, the last word fading on her lips.
Katherine shook her head. "Okay, I'm just going to stop you right there." She stated, standing up, shivering in disgust. "Caroline, have you even considered the possibility that when this assignment is over, Klaus will hate you and might end up in prison?" She asked, folding her arms over her chest.
Caroline's face faded into a grim look, and she closed her eyes. "I have thought about it." She whispered, wrapping her arms around her body.
Katherine watched her, and sighed. "And?" She asked, folding her arms over her chest.
Caroline turned her head, and raised her right hand to her hair. "And, I'll take that risk." She stated, after a moment with determination on her face.
Katherine sighed, and shook her head. "You know, you're insane, Forbes." She stated, pointing her finger at her friend. "But, I'll stay here with you." She added, rolling her eyes.
Caroline smirked. "Awe, Kat, you are a softy." She stated, watching her friend shiver.
"Keep your voice down, Caroline." She stated, harshly, but smiled at her friend. Grasping Caroline's arm, she moved them through the park. "Let's go and get that coffee."
Caroline laughed and nodded, as they continued on their trek.
They made it to the edge of the park when they stopped dead in their tracks.
Standing to the right of them was a man whipping a ten year old boy in the bushes far away from other people. The sight was out of the way, and they could see a small rundown house just behind the man and boy.
Caroline inhaled sharply, and Katherine let go of her arm.
Stepping back, Katherine watched as Caroline approached the man, and calmly asked what was wrong.
"This is none of your damn business, bitch." The man snarled his words slurring clearly he had had a few drinks.
Caroline glanced at the child with blonde hair and red rimmed blue eyes. Her mind flashed back to the not too distant past, and her anger began to flare.
"Actually, yes, this is my business." She stated, fire burning in her veins and eyes.
He scowled, and pushed his son to the ground. He rubbed his right hand over his nose, and sniffed loudly. "It sounds like you need a lesson in manners, missy." He slurred, glaring at her harshly.
Caroline's eyes focused on him, and her anger built up ten-fold.
Katherine closed her eyes, and shook her head. She felt someone come to stand beside her, and she opened her eyes to see Klaus watching with a firm look on his face.
He moved towards Caroline, but Katherine stopped him. He turned his head to glare at Katherine, but she shook her head, and something in her eyes compelled him to stop.
Caroline smirked. "And you are going to teach me?" She asked, as he staggered towards her.
The little boy on the ground crawled backwards with his hands on the grass behind him, and his body halfway on the ground.
The man glared at his son, and pointed at him. "Don't you dare move!" He shouted, causing the boy to jump, and his body shook in fear.
Katherine motioned to the boy, and knelt down with her arms open. The boy looked hesitant, but he finally stood up, and ran to her, colliding into her arms.
The man scowled, and glared at Caroline. "No one tells me how to take care of my son!" He shouted, raising his hand to strike her.
Caroline grasped his hand before it connected with her face, with her left hand, and her right hand balled into a fist and connected it into his stomach. "You should have never touched that child." She whispered, twisting his arm painfully behind his back.
The man hollered, and tried to move away from her, but her grip was tighter than he ever thought for a woman. "Let me go, bitch!" He shouted, with a groan.
She clicked her tongue and shook her head. "No, I don't think so, because you see, I don't think you understand what's going to happen." She replied, turning her head to the little boy, who was watching the scene with wide eyes. "I'm going to take your son to the police, and your rotten scumbag self as well, and I will show them what kind of man you are, a man, who would abuse an innocent child for nothing more than your own drunken amusement." She stated, twisting his arm further. "And you know what else, I'm going to make sure that you are locked away, and you will never again touch a single hair on that child's head. Am I making myself clear?" She asked, sweetly, but her voice held a hint of danger.
The man grunted, and tried to move out of her grasp once more, and when he couldn't he let out a loud curse.
Caroline rolled her eyes. "Do I make myself clear?" She asked again, twisting his arm tighter.
"Goddamn it woman, yes!" He shouted, glaring at his son. "Take the little bastard! I don't want him anyway!" He shouted, sneering. "He is nothing, but a useless panty wipe, and nothing more!" He added, fueling Caroline's anger.
"In that case, I won't take you to the police, but mark my words; you come near that boy ever again. I will kill you." She whispered, letting go of his arm. "You see, I know all about men like you." She added, her past anger and pain lacing her words. "You think you are so strong and masculine because you beat children, who can't defend themselves, but the truth is, men like you are nothing more than bastards!" She added, missing the look of comprehension on Klaus' face.
He straightened his back, and turned to face her. "You bitch!" He shouted lunging for her.
Caroline blocked him again, and abruptly lifted her right leg, and slammed her foot against his chest, and quickly turned on her feet, and did another kick with her left leg, sending the man to the ground, unconscious.
She turned to the little boy, who was still in Katherine's arms, and smiled. "I'm sorry." She replied, kneeling down. She lifted her gaze to Klaus, who glared hard at the man, before glancing at her.
The little boy shook his head, and ran to her, wrapping his arms around her neck, he let out a sob. "Thank you." He whispered, burying his face into her neck.
Caroline felt tears fill her eyes, and she wrapped her arms around the little boy. After a moment, she pulled back, and looked into his blue eyes. "What's your name?" She asked, searching his eyes.
The little boy sniffed, and glanced at the man still unconscious. "Joseph, but my mom called me Joey." He answered, wiping his nose with his right hand.
Caroline smiled. "Well, Joey, do you have any other family besides your dad?" She asked watching him shake his head.
"He's not my dad. He's my stepfather, and no, I don't have anyone." He answered, pitifully.
Caroline sighed, and glanced up at Katherine. Katherine, recognizing the look on her friend's face, rolled her eyes. "Hey, kid, how would you like to go get something to eat?" She asked, bending over to watch the little boy nod carefully.
Caroline smiled, and gently wiped his face. "Well, why don't you go with my friend Kat, and I'll see you later?" She replied, watching fear come into his eyes.
"Are you going to bring me back to him?" He asked in a shaky tone.
Caroline shook her head. "No, you will never have to live with him ever again, Joey." She answered, firmly.
"Then where am I going to live?" He asked, tears filling his little blue eyes.
Caroline inhaled sharply, not knowing what to say.
"With me."
Caroline felt her body fill with such warmth as she watched Klaus kneel down beside her. He smiled at the boy, and held out his hand. "Hi, Joey." He remarked, watching the little boy smile.
Klaus smiled back. "How would you like that?" He asked, watching the little boy shrug his shoulders.
"Will you hurt me like he did?" He asked in a low voice.
Klaus' eyes flashed, but his voice remained calm. "I swear to you, Joey, no one will ever harm you when I'm around, not again." He vowed, watching the little boy smile once more.
Caroline smiled, and nodded. "I think this deserves some ice cream with lunch." She remarked watching Joey light up.
Joey nodded, and they all smiled at him.
Katherine rolled her eyes, and reached for his left hand. "Come on, Joey, I know this great place for ice cream." She remarked, starting to lead him away.
Joey stopped mid-way, and turned to face Caroline. "Are you an angel?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
Caroline smiled as she and Klaus stood up. "No, I'm not." She answered, watching him nod.
"Well, you sure seem like an angel." He remarked, turning back to Katherine, and walked away.
Caroline watched as they walked a few more feet before turning to Klaus. "What were you doing here?" She asked, with a soft glare.
Klaus smirked. "I had a meeting with a few clients, and I was passing through the park when I saw you." He replied, shrugging innocently.
Caroline smirked. "Of course you were." She stated, condescendingly.
He chuckled, and leaned forward to kiss her lips. "You fight divinely, love." He whispered, against her lips.
She smiled, and shook her head. "Only you would say something like that." She whispered, returning his kiss. She pulled back, and glanced towards the boy, walking with Katherine. "Why did you volunteer to take in Joey? I mean, you've just met him today." She began, turning to look at Klaus, whose face had faded into an emotion she recalled to often when she looked in the mirror.
"It's not the first time, I've met Joey." He finally answered, turning to Caroline. "I've actually stopped his step-father a few times when he was on a bender." He stated with venom. "Then, Joey's mother was alive, and always stopped me from killing him." He added, harshly.
Caroline nodded. "So, you knew Joey's mother." She replied, watching him nod.
"Her name was Hayley, and she was an acquaintance of mine before she married." He replied, slightly.
Caroline nodded, slowly. "Is Joey…?" She trailed off, causing Klaus to look at her and smirk.
"No, he's not mine." He stated, watching her face fade into relief. "His father was a soldier, and was killed in Iraq, a few years back." He added, as they walked away from the house. "Hayley married Joey's step-father, and I never saw her much after that." He remarked, firmly
Caroline sighed. "Did you care for her?" She asked, as they walked down the street.
He chuckled. "As I would for my sister." He remarked, and looked at her. "Why? Are you jealous?" He asked, quirking a brow.
Caroline blushed and scoffed. "No, I'm not jealous." She stated, glancing at him, and seeing him purse his lips together.
He sent her a look with puppy dog eyes.
She groaned and threw her head back. "Fine, I'm jealous!" She stated, picking up her pace down the street.
He smiled, and picked up his pace to follow her. "You know, love, one would think you care more than you let on." He stated, finally catching up to her.
She rolled her eyes. "We should catch up with Kat and Joey." She stated, trying to change the subject.
Klaus nodded, and smirked to himself as they continued to follow behind the brunette and the blond haired boy.
As it had turned out, Joey did remember Klaus, and was very excited to live with his 'Uncle' Klaus. As the day moved on, Caroline found herself falling in love with the little boy, who began to open up to the people who had rescued him from the clutches of his step-father.
As the sun fell in the sky, and the moon rose high, they watched as Joey's eyes began to slowly drift close.
Klaus moved to pick him up, and Caroline felt her heart tug in her chest at the domestic picture Klaus created. They walked behind Klaus, towards his mansion, and followed him into a spare room on the second floor. As Klaus tucked the little boy in bed, Caroline smiled.
Katherine, getting sick at seeing this side of Klaus, motioned to Caroline that she was going to leave. Though she had to admit, protecting that little boy was something she never expected from the Big Bad Klaus. As she walked out of the door, she smiled.
Miracles do happen.
~XXX~
Caroline smiled as Klaus grasped her hand, and led her out of the room and up a second set of stairs towards the third floor. She waited as he opened the door, and allowed her to enter first.
She smiled wider as she took in the easels and the artwork, not to mention the bed against the far wall. She blushed and bowed her head.
She turned to find Klaus staring at her with an unmistakable look of questions on his face. She turned completely to face him, and waited for him to ask the first one.
"Why did you save Joey?" He asked, leaning against the door.
She sighed, and turned her head. "Because it was the right thing to do." She answered, walking over to the nearest painting on the wall.
"That's not the only reason, Caroline." He remarked, reading her body language.
Caroline sighed, and shook her head. She had to tell him. She had to. "If I tell you, will you promise not to tell anybody?" She asked, bowing her head.
Klaus narrowed his eyes. "You have my word."
She nodded, and turned to walk over to the French doors in the room. She gazed out the glass in the doors, and at the moon rising up in the sky. "I was six when it first started." She began, keeping her gaze on the sky.
"My mom was a cop in a small town, and my dad was a…criminal." She continued, with a scoff. "He dealt with a lot of merchandise, but light stuff, like marijuana, cocaine, and other drugs. My mom was a cop, but she couldn't stop him from shipping the stuff in." She closed her eyes in memory. "He started on my mom before he started on me, and when I turned six, he thought I was old enough." She paused, swallowing hard.
Klaus pushed away from the door, and walked slowly towards her.
"Mom did everything she could to make my childhood happy. When dad wasn't around we had our 'girl' time." She stated, with a laugh. "When he came home, that's when they would start. He would grab mom, and slam her against the wall. It didn't matter what went wrong, he always blamed her." Tears fell down her face, and she quickly wiped them away. "He turned to me, when mom was too weak to fight him, and began to hit me, accusing me of being born and ruining his life." She paused, biting her lip.
Klaus felt anger towards the man who would hit this beautiful creature in front of him.
"Nobody would stop him. Everybody feared him, even the mayor." She stated after a moment. "I was ten when he started using a whip."
"The scars on your back." He whispered, watching her nod.
"You saw them." She replied, not turning to look at him.
He nodded. "Yes."
She sighed. "Sometimes he would beat me so bad, that I cringed when anyone would touch me, even my mom." She stated, letting the tears fall once more with remembrance. "Mom tried to get me away, but he always found me, and brought me back." She continued, faintly. "I was eighteen when he killed my mom."
Klaus held his breath, and couldn't take it anymore. Reaching forward, he grasped her upper arms, and turned her into his chest. Caroline let out a sob, and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"I found her body in the living room with cuts and bruises. Her eyes were still open, and her shirt had been torn." She cried, shaking her head. "Then he came into the room saying that she didn't listen to him, and she deserved what she got." She continued against his chest. "I snapped."
Klaus closed his eyes, and bowed his head to kiss her head.
"I killed him before the cops got there, and claimed self-defense." She remarked, finally lifting her head to look him in the eyes. "I don't regret killing him, but I do regret that I didn't save my mom." She whispered, tears filling her eyes.
He sighed, and wiped her tears away from her face. "There was nothing you could have done, Caroline." He whispered, trying to bring her peace.
She closed her eyes, and shook her head. "I could have saved her. After everything she did, to make sure that I had some happy memories, I could have tried." She cried brokenly.
Klaus frowned, and shook his head. "Caroline, you can't live in the past. All you can do is live today, knowing that your mother loved you." He whispered, watching her nod slowly.
"I know." She whispered, bowing her head to his chest. "I just miss her." She whispered, with a cry, holding onto him with every ounce of strength she had.
Klaus just stood there, and held her. Listening to her story, answered so many questions for him. She was just a wounded woman with a past that turned her into a strong, passionate woman. She endured a horrific past, and it made her stronger. He could understand why she was hesitant to trust men. She worried that they would turn out to be just like her father. No wonder, she nearly killed a man today.
He kissed her head as her sobs began to fade against his chest. She turned her head, and gazed out the glass of the doors once more, and smiled at the moon. "Mom used to say that whenever there was a full moon, someone was sharing their happiness with the world." She replied after a moment.
Klaus smiled. "Are you happy, Caroline?" He asked, feeling her head lift from his chest.
Caroline searched his eyes, and smiled. "I will be." She whispered, closing the distance between them, and kissing him with all the passion and longing she felt.
He tightened his hold as their kiss deepened, and their tongues fought for dominance.
Slowly they pulled apart, and both panting from the passion they felt. Klaus knows he has to tell her. He needed to tell her.
"Caroline…" He whispered, but she stopped him before he went further.
"No, Klaus, let's not rationalize this." She whispered, shaking her head. "I told you about my past because I…trust you, and I haven't trusted anyone in a very long time with the exception of Katherine." She stated, softly.
Klaus felt his heart race at her words. "Oh, Caroline," He whispered, touching her face tenderly.
She smiled, and felt her face turn hot. "It's time, Klaus." She whispered, not caring about the consequences. She wanted this man in front of her, and she knew he wanted her.
Klaus smiled, and stepped away from her to go to the door. Quickly locking it, he turned to find her smiling at him. He took out his phone from his jeans, and quickly sent a text to his brother, Elijah.
"What are you doing?" She asked, after he set the phone down on a table.
He smiled. "I sent a text to Elijah, informing him about Joey." He replied, softly, approaching her.
Caroline smiled and nodded, though the smile was short lived. "Are you sure it's a good idea for Joey to live here?" She asked, softly. "I mean; is it good for him to live in a house full of people who smuggle guns and break the law?" She asked, with worry.
Klaus inhaled deeply, and placed his hands on her upper arms. "I promised I would protect him, Caroline, and I never break my promises." He replied, firmly.
She nodded. "Would you protect him from yourself?" She asked in a whisper.
He frowned, and fire flashed in his eyes. "I would never hurt a child, Caroline." He stated, roughly.
She smiled, and touched his face. "I know you wouldn't, Klaus." She whispered, truly believing her words. Of all the things Klaus was, an abuser of children was not one of them. "It's just…" She trailed off, stroking his face absently.
"You worry that he will grow up like us." He concluded, stroking her arms.
Caroline nodded, and bowed her head. "I mean, I grew up with a man who abused me, and broke the law." She replied, bringing her hand down from his face to his chest.
Klaus inhaled, and closed his eyes for a moment. "So did I, Caroline." He whispered, watching her bring her head up to look at him with shock in her eyes.
"Klaus?" She began, watching him nod.
"My stepfather was a cruel son of a bitch." He began, moving away from her to the French doors she had stood before. "He would abuse and ridicule me for things I never did. All because my mother had an affair with another man, and I was the product of it." He replied.
Caroline felt her heart break at his words. Moving her feet, she walked to him, and wrapped her arms around his chest.
"It got worse when Henrik was killed." He whispered, feeling her tense. "He was my little brother, and he idolized me." He replied with a chuckle. "He always talked about how when he grew up, he would always be there for me, and help me no matter what, and he hated our father." He whispered, tears filling his eyes. "Mikael had a deal going down near the docks, and he dragged me and Elijah along. Henrik snuck in the back of the truck. The deal went off wrong, and Henrik jumped in front of the bullet intended for me, and died." He added, bowing his head.
Caroline shook her head. "You blame yourself." She concluded, feeling him shake against her body. "You said that we should stop living in the past, Klaus." She whispered, softly, stroking his chest with her hands. "It's time to let it go." She added, tenderly.
Moving around, she grasped his face in between her hands, and gazed into his tear filled eyes. "Klaus," She whispered, feeling the burn of the tears in her eyes. No words were spoken, none were needed.
Moving her hands down his face, his arms, to his hands, she grasped them, and led him back to the bed. Tonight was their night, and from all the pain they had suffered in their pasts. The abuse received from the hands of the men who were supposed to protect them, laid in the silence.
Stopping at the side of the bed, Caroline moved her hands over Klaus' chest, and kept her eyes fixed on his. Leaning forward, she kissed his lips with a passion they had only for each other.
Klaus hands caressed her hip, and slowly moved up to her small jacket she was wearing over her tank shirt. Pushing it off, he threw it to the side, and moved his lips over hers, as his fingers delicately grazed over the skin of her arms. She shivered slightly, but kept her lips slowly moving over his.
His hands moved down to the hem of her top, and slowly pulled it up, breaking contact only to pull it over her head and dropped it to the floor.
Caroline bowed head, only to have him lift her chin to look into her eyes.
"You are exquisite, love." He whispered, with eyes that loved the sight of her creamy white skin, with only small white scars on her body.
"Klaus, there is something else you should know." She whispered, searching his eyes. "I can't have children." She added, with dread.
He inhaled deeply, but caressed her chin lightly. "It doesn't matter, love." He whispered, after a moment, before claiming her lips once more.
Later he would ask her why, but not now. Now, he wanted to love her, and show her that her trust in him was worth it.
Slowly, she pulled up his shirt, and deposited it on the ground beside them, and felt him push her back onto the bed.
With slow precision, he unhooked her bra, and let it fall to the floor, as his lips moved over her face, and slowly traced her skin down her throat to her chest, and took her breast into his mouth.
Caroline smiled and arched underneath his lips, letting out a small moan. Klaus smiled against her skin, and felt pride at making her feel these urges so well.
His right hand moved down her body, to her pants, and unbuttoned them. Her shoes were already on the floor, and as her pants were unfastened, he felt her hands unfasten his as well. He lifted his head to look into her eyes, and gently moved his lips down to her stomach, playing with her belly button, causing her to shiver and moan.
Finally moving to the top of her pants, he slowly moved them down as his lips followed, causing her hips to move upward in a thrust movement.
"Klaus, please." She moaned, feeling his fingers move over her thighs.
He smiled, and lifted his head. "In time, love." He whispered, searching her eyes with emotion shining out of his.
With quick precision, he slid her jeans and panties all the way off, and his fingers ghosted over her bare legs. "Oh, love you are the most exquisite creature." He whispered, with eyes growing dark with lust.
Caroline blushed, and smiled, but the smile faded as she shivered with pleasure when his fingers moved over her inner thighs, touching her in a place no one had ever touched.
She was not a virgin, so this form of pleasure was not foreign to her, but the first time was quick and she barely even registered the pleasure.
Klaus smiled as he dipped his head down between her legs, and kissed her tenderly in her most sensitive area. Caroline's head was swimming, and she couldn't hold back a cry as he nibbled her thigh.
"Oh, Klaus!"
Pleasure seemed to rock her body, and her hips wanted to thrust as his tongue moved over her skin with gentle pressure. Caroline gripped the covers beneath her, and arched her back as the pleasure rocked her to know anvil.
Klaus smiled as she cried out, when her orgasm reached its high, and he knew then that she was his. Sliding up her body, caressed her thighs, breasts, and finally her face as he kissed her lips, and his tongue dove into her mouth.
Caroline's fingers found their way into his hair, and her right hand moved over his bare back with light scratches.
She pulled back, and smiled as she looked down at his jean covered hips. "You're overdressed." She whispered, watching him smile devilishly.
Pushing him over onto his back, Caroline kissed his lips, and made her way down his body. She kissed and sucked on his nipples, and felt him shiver. She smiled and moved downward, her lips grazing his skin, only stopping to play with his belly button as he had done to her. She moved her fingers over his hips, and pushed his jeans downward, noticing that he had nothing underneath them. Her brow lifted and she gazed at him with a devilish gleam in her eyes. He smiled back, watching her pull his jeans off, since he had taken off his shoes just moments before. She gazed down at his figure, and felt desire burn in her veins at the sight of him.
"You are…" She trailed off, running her finger over his manhood. "Perfect." She added, lifting her gaze to his, and he could see the passion yet truth in her eyes.
He smiled, and moved to sit up, and as he did, she bent down and kissed his shaft, causing him to grasp the covers, and throw his head back as she wrapped her mouth around it, and sucked lightly.
"God, Caroline!"
She smirked, and felt him about to come, but she moved her lips slowly off, before he could do so. She had never done such a thing before, and to even go that far showed him and her that Klaus was more than just a common man, a common fuck.
Moving up to his lips, she straddled his hips as her lips landed on his, and she felt his right hand dive into her hair. Her eyes closed in the pleasure of the moment, and she knew this was it. She felt him turn them over, so her back was against the covers, and he was lying on top of her.
Klaus lifted his head, and caressed her face gently as he gazed into her eyes. "Is this the first time?" He asked, searching her eyes.
Caroline shook her head. "No, but this is the first time, I've allowed a man to touch me as you have." She whispered, and her light shone in her eyes.
Klaus smiled, and bent his head. "Oh, Caroline, you don't know what you've done to me." He whispered, as he pushed inside of her.
Caroline moaned into his mouth and arched her back as her legs wrapped around his waist, taking him deeper with the movement.
As they rocked in the bed, the only sound in the room was the iron bed creaking beneath them, and the moans coming from their mouths. Caroline fingered the necklaces around his neck, as he stared into her eyes, watching the pleasure on her face with each thrust he made.
Pulling on them, she kissed his lips as the pleasure built up in her veins, and began to explode like fireworks, and sent her flying.
Klaus lifted his lips, and watched as she screamed his name, and arched against him. As he continued to thrust, he felt her squeeze around him, and he couldn't hold out any longer. He had held off his pleasure, showing her that a man could love her, long enough for her to get the pleasure she rightly deserved.
Crying out her name like a chant, he came inside of her, and after a few more thrusts, he collapsed on top of her.
Caroline sighed in pleasure, and wrapped her arms around him, turning her head to kiss his cheeks tenderly.
Klaus lifted his head, and tried to catch his breath as he searched her eyes. "My beautiful Caroline." He whispered, touching her swollen lips with his left hand.
Caroline smiled at the words, and touched his swollen lips with her right hand. "My perfect Klaus." She whispered, knowing that those words were true in more ways than one.
At this moment, she didn't care that she was a Marshall and he was a criminal. All she cared about was the fact that he was the man who showed her pleasure, and accepted her past as what made her stronger. He had listened and not judged her.
Somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew that this perfect moment would end, but not tonight. Tonight was about her, loving a man who cared for her. Tomorrow or the next day she would worry about how to tell him the truth, but not now. Now, she was going to love him until she was given out with exhaustion.
Tonight was theirs; tomorrow or the next day was hers.
~XXX~
The door opened to the small bedroom and two heads peaked in to check on the little boy still sleeping soundly.
"What possessed Nik to bring him here?" Rebekah asked, looking up at Elijah.
Elijah sighed, and closed the door. "He said in his text that he had had enough of seeing that man abuse him." He answered, as they moved down the hall.
Rebekah sighed. "So Nik is going to protect him." She concluded, though her voice sounded like a question.
Elijah nodded. "And so are we." He stated, his eyes clouded. "I owe that much to her." He added, talking about Hayley.
Rebekah nodded. "So do I." She added, bowing her head. "This is going to be something. Raising a child in the business we're in." She replied, with a smile.
"What do you suggest we do? Take him to the orphanage?" He asked, slightly angry.
Rebekah shook her blonde head. "No, I'm just saying we need to be more careful now. I would hate for Joey to lose the only home he has because we screwed something up." She stated, firmly.
Elijah nodded, and lifted his eyes to the ceiling. "I hope Niklaus understands this." He whispered, though he already knew the answer.
Rebekah nodded. "So do I."
Remember to be kind!
I know a lot happened in this chapter, but I felt it was time to let the cat out of the bag for Caroline's past, and a glimpse into Klaus'. More to be revealed in the chapter after next, because the next chapter is a PRESENT chapter!
I hope you all enjoyed it!
Until Next Time...
