Chapter 14:

Epilouge – The End of an Era

This fanfiction has been abandoned for quite a while after the release of the final Light Novel (Volume 11). As mentioned in my other notice for (Don't Forget Kobato), I am not happy with how the official story has progressed. The consistent delays after Volume 8 and the release of a CONNECT volume felt like the author attempting to backtrack and push the story towards a different direction. Volume 10 really revealed the author's intentions when he was ready to end the story once and for all. This was confirmed true in Volume 11. In the end, we are left with a useless Kodaka who really doesn't know what he wants.

Coupled with the DMCA letters from lawyers representing Kadokawa to remove all translations online earlier this year, I no longer feel motivated to continue this fanfiction or any other Boku wa Tomodachi fanfiction.

Before I close the story, here is summary of what was supposed to happen in this fanfiction. This fanfiction was loosely based off of the movie "Hot Fuzz", but I have altered the story to make it fit with the theme of Boku wa Tomodachi.

After the incident with hooded people, everyone (Pegasus, Stella, Sena, Yukimura, and Rika) arrives safely at the Kashiwazaki estate. Stella manages to clear the pepper spray off of Sena, allowing Sena to see again. With hardcore evidence, Rika and Yukimura now believe that Sena and Pegasus are not behind the murder incidents. Someone else must be behind the hooded people and is using chairmen across the city to cover up their sins.

Rika takes interest at Sena's house, identifying all of the luxurious facilities inside. Yukimura also pays attention to all the décor inside. Sena uses this opportunity to boast her proud legacy, making Pegasus chuckle.

Later, Rika and Yukimura hear that Yozora's recovery is progressing well and is ready to be released from the mental hospital. As a precaution, Sena goes along with them to pick Yozora as a precaution in case the hooded people attack them again. When they go the hospital, they find that Yozora has already gone home. Rika suspects that it must be her apartment. When they arrive, they find Yozora angry at the condition of the apartment suspecting that 'meat' did it. Rika and Yukimura convince Yozora that Sena's not behind it, but Yozora doesn't believe it… that is until the hooded people arrive again to kill all 4 of them. Now with Yozora on board, she holds a small match with Sena to see who can defeat the most hooded people. Their match allows them to take care of the problem much more swiftly than before. However, Yozora must now join Sena in the Kashiwazaki estate too much to Yozora's disgust.

Meanwhile, Kate is able to arrange a personal meeting between Torche Royce and Pegasus. They conduct the meeting in a secret location where police would not find them. Here, Torche Royce reveals the truth about Kodaka. He saw an unusual event going on in front of Kodaka's home and found it shocking that random people would come up to students and murder them. He created a black hood disguise and posed as them in an attempt to rescue the students. Some students such as Kodaka are lucky enough to be rescued while some students ended up being killed by the hooded people. All rescued students were sent to a shed far north of Tonya City. He would visit them regularly to ensure that everyone is fine.

Pegasus then requests a trip to visit Kodaka. He notes that his father Hayato has just arrived from the Americas and is worried about Kodaka. He wants Hayato to be assured that Kodaka is safe. Torche Royce agrees and hands Pegasus the directions. He also gives many precautions to ensure that Pegasus successfully makes it to the place and not be stopped and arrested by the police for violation of in-house suspension. With all preparations made, the team leaves for Kodaka on a very early morning. Sena, hoping to get Kodaka all to herself, leaves the rest of the Neighbor's Club behind.

Going to Kodaka, we find that Kodaka has made two new friends while being at the shed. These boys have many things in common: unpopular, friendless, transfer student, and has questionable facial features. Here, they play games with Kodaka and share many stories. One of the friends also teaches Kodaka about painting. With no prior notice, the door suddenly opens and Sena comes flying over to Kodaka. Kodaka knocks her away, believing that she's the person who organized the hooded people to attack him. Despite Sena's many attempts at convincing him, Kodaka refuses to listen and shows her the door.

Pegasus then arrives and gets knocked away too. Pegasus tries to explain the entire situation to Kodaka, but Kodaka does not believe it thinking that Pegasus is luring him into a deadly trap. However, when Pegasus brings Hayato to Kodaka, Kodaka begins to ease up. Kodaka is a little disappointed that Hayato didn't come to his aid earlier. Hayato apologizes to Kodaka and tells Kodaka that nobody knew about the situation until recently. Everyone (Sena, Pegasus, and Hayato) emphasize the fact that someone else is behind the hooded people who attempted to kill Kodaka.

At the same time, Kodaka finds Sena crying at him apologizing that she never knew Kodaka would face this outcome after being denied enrollment at St. Torox Academy. Kodaka also apologizes to Sena, mentioning that he was a bit too harsh on her when they met for the first time in ages. As Kodaka and Sena reconcile, the two boys who Kodaka made friends with become jealous and break up with him, stating "You lied to us! You never told us that you already had a hot girlfriend." Kodaka is sad at the sudden loss of friends, but learns from Hayato that sacrifices sometimes have to be made.

As Sena tries to give Kodaka a kiss, they're met by the rest of the Neighbor's Club. Rika seems excited for a love moment while Yozora is happy to have interrupted Sena. Yukimura is also happy to see Kodaka alive as well. As Sena tries to kick them out saying that it's Kodaka and her personal time, Kodaka invites them all in much to Sena's disappointment. As they share their experiences on what happened while they were gone, Kodaka also finds Kobato more accepting of Sena. Yozora also knew beforehand that Sena loves Kodaka. Yozora capitalizes on it by creating a match with Sena to take Kodaka from her. Sena accepts the match.

As everyone prepares to return home, they are met with unwanted visitors: the police. The police were able to trace their movements to the shed. They arrest Pegasus, Torche, Hayato, and Stella for fleeing from their crimes. As Sena and everyone else demand an explanation of their arrest, the police quickly drive off. Soon, black hooded people come to attack everyone in the shed including the Neighbor's Club. The girls quickly spring into action and attack each and one of the hooded people. Sena makes a breakthrough when she manages to pull one of the hoods off. It turns out to be the homeroom teacher for class 2-5 at St. Chronica. Yozora quickly identifies him and takes cellphone snapshots. With this evidence, she can finally have her revenge on him. With one of their masks uncovered, the homeroom teacher calls for Plan B. All of the hooded people climb into their vans and drive off.

Sena uses the limousine to chase after them. Everyone in the Neighbor's Club also take the ride. They follow the convoy until it passes through a big gate. Sena parks the limousine somewhere in the dark and has everyone get out. They tip toe past the great wall and witness an unusual event. Many black hooded people are assembling in the great hall east of the courtyard. As the people enter the great hall, they are all chanting words.

The Neighbor's Club position themselves to get a better view of the great hall. Here, they find Rumio Tenjou, the Club Director, making the opening announcements. Rumio Tenjou announces that the last chairman (Pegasus) and his friends have finally been captured. With that, there will be no competition for St. Chronica, allowing them to monopolize the education system of Tonya City and increase its struggling enrollment numbers. He is also confident that the school will win the 'School of the Year' awards citing positive initial feedback from the evaluators. The chairmen and all remaining adults are kept alive to witness the awards ceremony and will be disposed of shortly after.

Sena, shocked that Stella and Pegasus are facing death, screams. Her voice somehow echoes back from one the buildings west of the courtyard. The echo does not sound like reverberation as the voice quality sounds too clear. Rika suspects that there must be secret microphones or listening devices nearby. To save time and effort, Rika suggests someone to identify the location of the sound source and destroy it. Kodaka and Sena agree to take on the mission while Yozora, Kobato, Rika, and Yukimura continue to search for any listening devices.

Kodaka and Sena easily find the location of the sound source as they could clearly hear the voices of Rika and other team coming out of the speakers in the room. The sound source room is fitted with numerous transmitters and receivers. They also find several GPS computers and logs of what students did at home and school. Kodaka suspects that the source must be located on them. As they try to look for any kind of listening and tracking devices, they're caught by the person operating the machines. Yozora, Kobato, Rika, and Yukimura are also caught by courtyard security.

Everyone is tied up and brought to the center of the great hall. Here, they find every staff, faculty, and security of St. Chronica along with high ranking police officers and media teams. Right above the entrance to the great hall is a cage with Pegasus, Hayato, Stella, and other chairmen.

Yozora demands that they all be freed as what they're doing is extremely criminal. However, Rumio refuses stating that people like Yozora is the reason why they have a system like this. Yozora refuses to listen to any advice and always insists on her own way which is considered harmful to the future of Tonya City. This is why students are captured and removed from the streets. Rika then questions about how they could track their movements at the exact point. Rumio shows them the student ID card. Apparently, it's not just a card. It has a transducer inside it and an antenna for GPS tracking. By having an invasive student ID card, the staff and faculty can monitor students while they're at home, ensuring that their behavior and effort continues outside of school.

Kodaka then argues that they're all tied up and framed for no reason. Their reasons for handing out red slips are unfair and unjustified. Their definition of a perfect student is too impossibly high that 99% of students will never reach. He also finds it strange that they're looking for students when they're expelling too many students. Sena is the angriest of them all. She is angry that they used her dad as a scapegoat. The newspaper and TV news keep suspecting that Pegasus is one of the people responsible for the disappearances of many students. They consistently suspect that Pegasus and other chairmen are the murderers. Sena is positive that Pegasus is not linked to any of these incidents.

As the Neighbor's Club demand justice, the supreme leader of the group makes his appearance in the great hall: Dr. Jorgon Kupa, Chairman of St. Chronica Academy. Dr. Kupa is intent on making St. Chronica Academy win the "School of the Year" awards. To win these awards, sacrifices must be made. Student's rights and individualism must also be given up as well. A definition of a perfect student per the criteria and guidelines is a well-mannered lady or gentleman that only studies and reads books. They must also speak in a polite manner and show loyalty to the school. They must also appear like a businessman when walking to and from school. As Dr. Kupa implemented these measures, he knew that many students would oppose such change, especially after getting used to Pegasus's lax rules. Therefore, he implemented many safety measures to ensure that students do not rise up and attack him and the new St. Chronica. He would go far as to killing the students and burying them in an unknown place, having the media and police write it off as an accident. He also killed expelled students looking for transfer fearing that they would badmouth Dr. Kupa to other schools in Tonya City.

Now that the Neighbor's Club knows about the truth, he decides to eliminate everyone to prevent them from spreading the word. He gets a gun and points it at Kodaka, who was already on the targeted kill list before. Since the staff failed to accomplish the mission, Dr. Kupa thinks it's best if he does it on his own. Right as he pulls the trigger, someone trips him over. The bullet does land on Kodaka, but thankfully, it misses his vital organs. He does faint and pass out though. Everyone turns towards Dr. Kupa and finds Kate and the rest of the sisters standing behind him. Kate rushes Kodaka to the hospital while the other sisters untie the Neighbor's Club. Apparently, Dr. Kupa forgot that sisters were also part of St. Chronica.

Kodaka wakes up in one of the patient's rooms and sees the doctor talking to the Neighbor's Club. The doctor informs them that Kodaka's surgery was successfully completed and that he will need a couple more days in the hospital to aid his recovery. Kobato is crying with tears of joy and everyone else smiles. As the Neighbor's Club plan to spend their night in the hospital, Sena offers to sleep next to Kodaka for the night. Kodaka agrees. In bed, Sena asks Kodaka is he still thinks she is behind the mess. Kodaka says no. Sena then demands Kodaka to forgive her and promise not to falsely accuse her. Kodaka agrees and Sena quickly kisses him, stating that she always found him to be that special person.

The next day, Sena is rudely awakened by Yozora. Yozora tells Sena that Rika has a grand idea and to save Kodaka for later. Sena agrees and tells Kodaka that she'll be back eventually. Yozora assures Kodaka that this plan will bring justice for him which makes Kodaka smile. In the hospital cafeteria, Rika unveils her grand idea. She devises a perfect strategy to defeat Dr. Kupa once and for all. Since Dr. Kupa is completely fixated on the 'School of the Year' awards, the Neighbor's Club should attack St. Chronica on the day the evaluators arrive. She did research for the weapons industry before and therefore has spare firearms and weapons. She was able to hide them in the Kashiwazaki mansion when the Neighbor's Club moved in there.

Later that day, the Neighbor's Club returns to the Kashiwazaki mansion. They pack all the firearms and weapons and then head off to the Kashiwazaki vacation home. Be sleeping here, none of Dr. Kupa's soldiers can find them.

The day of the evaluation finally arrives. Dr. Kupa watches as everyone sets up banners and flags, celebrating the school and wishing it good luck for the award. As everyone including the school police, faculty, and staff get into position, Dr. Kupa and eagerly waits for the evaluators. He also consistently reminds the Tonya City police to continue searching for the Neighbor's Club and have them detained until the evaluation is complete. As the evaluators arrive and are being welcomed by Dr. Kupa, the Neighbor's Club group up inside the limousine. They're all wearing disguises complete with sunglasses. After Rika's briefing, everyone jumps out of limo and storms through the front gate, but not before the entrance guards notify the school police and Dr. Kupa.

As the Neighbor's Club walks towards the main building, everyone including the students stares at them.

"Good morning!"

The school police quickly draw their guns and try to kill the Neighbor's Club. The instructors quickly tell the students to drop down as they reach for their stash of firearms. A peaceful day at St. Chronica is now the center of a major shootout. The instructors try to stop the Neighbor's Club from entering the main building by throwing grenades at them. Some teachers also throw large propane tanks and attempt to ignite it with their firearms. Kobato is scared at all the violence but Sena reassures Kobato, telling her that she is doing this for her brother. Kobato feels encouraged by Sena and continues to fight.

Rika, Yozora, and Sena's pinpoint accuracy brings down several school police officers, allowing them to enter than main building. Their target is the principal's office, which is located on the 3rd floor. As they make their way to the stairs, all of the instructors on the 1st floor draw their firearms and shoot at them. Sena and Yozora then have a competing race to see who takes down the most teachers. Yukimura and Rika can only smile seeing how such competition can result in many accomplishments.

The Neighbor's Club finally reaches to the principal's office. Instead, they find the chief of police. The chief of police refuses to disclose the real location of Dr. Kupa and has them arrested for trespassing and possession of firearms. That is, until the rest of the police staff appears with Pegasus, Hayato, and other chairmen. The police accompanying them tell the chief that they've broken too many rules and that it's time to let the 'deal' go. Dr. Kupa made a grand deal with the chief of police in attempt to hide his crime. By having the chief participate in his plan, the chief of police will receive a generous bonus that will allow him to retire early and live a lavish life in the tropics. The other policemen believe that sacrificing people is not worth the 'deal' and their efforts to achieve that goal are becoming ridiculous. However, the chief of police refuses to quit, choosing to pursue the deal. He jumps out the window and heads off with his police car.

Now with two choices, Yozora proposes the team to split up. One team should go after the chief of police and search for Dr. Kupa while the other team should ensure that all of the students are safe. There are many of Dr. Kupa's soldiers who might be holding the students hostage. The compromise comes through when the Student Council comes to help. Hinata wants to show appreciation for her sister Yozora while Aoi believes it's her duty as a Student Council member to help everyone out. Hinata wants the Neighbor's Club to go after Kupa while they stay behind to assist evacuation of all the students. They agree as they hand their firearms over to them.

With the help of police, the Neighbor's Club is able to locate where the chief of police went, St. Torox Academy. Since this school has been shutdown, there are no classes in session. The Neighbor's Club, believing that Dr. Kupa must be lurking here, head to the principal's office of that school. Here, they must bypass all of the traps and bombs set on the school grounds and in the hallways. Kobato and Maria are able to guide the rest of the club through the traps due to their short height.

As they make it into the principal's office, they find Dr. Kupa, the chief of the police, and Rumio Tenjou. Dr. Kupa congratulates them on their successful mission but tells them that they have Plan B ready to go. Now that the Neighbor's Club have destroyed his chances of winning the 'School of the Year' awards, he plans to explode every school in Tonya City and the surrounding areas. By doing so, everyone who has memories of the shootout will be dead and he will be able to start over from scratch. He quickly jumps onto a helicopter with his two friends and wishes them farewell.

The Neighbor's Club runs after the helicopter with the aid of Stella, who is now driving the limousine. Even through the limousine suffered damage from all the traps set at St. Torox Academy, she is able to bring the Neighbor's Club to safety as Plan B is being executed. In the north wing of the courtyard mansion, now revealed to be Dr. Kupa's home, a large door opens and multiple missiles launch. Each missile bombs one of the schools in Tonya City. The student council were able to evacuate all of the students at St. Chronica before a missile destroyed it. In fact, the only fatalities occurred were Dr. Kupa's soldiers.

The missiles also created an unwanted byproduct, smoke. The smoke clouds the helicopter to the point where the pilot couldn't see clearly. The pilot accidentally crashes into a main power pole, causing the helicopter to explore and kill the pilot, Dr. Kupa, Rumio Tenjou, and the chief of police. As the Neighbor's Club watches the burning helicopter, Yozora teases Sena that she would have become someone like Dr. Kupa if it weren't for her. Sena harshly denounces it saying that she would never wish anyone dead. As for everyone else, they quickly return to hospital and inform Kodaka the good news. Dr. Kupa is dead.

In the end, the incumbent winner gets the 'School of the Year' awards. However, for the first time, they also announce a dishonorable mention: St. Chronica. For cheating in the process and killing the opposition, they felt necessary to create a new category. With a shameful title and shattered reputation, Pegasus decides to return as the chairman of the school once it's finished rebuilding. Since it's a school passed down by his father, he believes that it's best if he restores this school to its former glory and make his legacy proud. As for St. Torox, he appoints Torche Royce to take over his duties as the chairman. Kodaka, now fully recovered, thanks Torche for saving him and believes he will become an outstanding chairman just like Pegasus.

On the first day of school as a third-year student for Kodaka, Sena, and Yozora, he is surprised to find Sena in the same classroom with him. Sena insisted that they should be in the same classroom. Yozora is in the same class as well. Kodaka also find that the two boys he was friends with earlier are now part of the Starry Sena Club. This club now has a new objective, taking Sena back from Kodaka. As the homeroom teacher arrives, he passes back the diagnostic exam they took before school began. Sena achieves a proud 95% while Kodaka gets 25%. Yozora comes close with 93%. Sena criticizes Kodaka for his low performance while Kodaka mentions that he has been out of school for many months due to the incident. Sena then demands that Kodaka visit her place for tutoring every Saturday in which he agrees. Sena does not want a stupid husband.

In the afternoon, Kodaka arrives at Lounge Room #4 in the chapel, the location of the clubroom. When Kodaka opens the door, he is shocked to see something that resembles a conference room from a 5-star hotel. The carpet is plush with decorative patterns, the walls have velvet padding and marble borders, and there are even a couple of small chandeliers hanging off of the ceiling. The club table is also extravagant with personal air conditioning vents in the middle of the table along with a built-in computer at every seat. To the left is a large 100-inch television complete with surround sound and a PS4 console, occupied by Sena, Kobato, and Yozora. To the right is a small kitchen where Yukimura is preparing something for Kodaka. Kodaka then finds a mirrored version of the room next door in Lounge Room #3 along with different shades of color. This is where the sisters usually hang out and hold meetings. Here, Kate is trying out one of the built-in computers. It crashes as the OS by Rika is unstable and needs serious debugging.

The following afternoon, Sena finds Kodaka as he is walking home with Kobato. She decides to spend at night at his house and form more bonds with him. Kodaka agrees and finds it interesting that Sena chooses to walk as opposed to taking a ride in Stella's limousine. As they walk, they share stories about their unhappy fathers. Hayato owes over ¥700,000 in medical bills while Pegasus must pay a total of ¥80 billion for the families of deceased students. When Pegasus resumed his role as chairman of St. Chronica, he inherited all the legal fees associated with that school. Kodaka and Sena realize that they have many more things in common than they originally thought.

The epilogue takes place on the following Saturday. Kodaka and Kobato arrive at Sena's house. They're surprised to find Yozora as well. She also wants to be of great help. As Yozora starts by tutoring Kobato, Kodaka finds Sena in the kitchen baking a cake. When he asks her why, Sena wants Kodaka to show the cake to the Starry Sena Club and let them know that their bond is strong. (Reference to the song "Tea for Two")

There was a planned sequel dealing with the son of Dr. Kupa. Angry that his father was killed, he attempts to seek revenge for the Neighbor's Club. Because of Pegasus's dominance, his plan quickly fails. However, Yozora sees interest in him and decides to help him out. Eventually their relationship progresses to the point where they become lovers. The progression occurs so quickly that it makes Sena jealous. She realizes that she is still too distant from Kodaka.

Final Note: If you don't know. The name Jorgon Kupa came from 'Koopa' in the Mario series. The name is appropriate as they are both villians. 'Jorgon' comes from the TV show 'FairlyOdd Parents'. It's the name of the most powerful fairy in the universe.

The name Torche Royce is based on the torch lady for Columbia Pictures Television. I chose the name because he is the counterpart of Pegasus (Well, not until the end of this fanfiction when he gets promoted to chairman). In one of the closing logos, there was Columbia-Tristar television. Tristar Television is represented by a Pegasus (Happens to be Sena's father) while Columbia Television is represented by the torch lady.
