Well I might of lied when I said I would update at the end of half-term. I'm sorry I didn't update sooner but I couldn't find a way to write about 300 words (I wrote about 3000 in an hour and 300 in 3 weeks). I had a few coursework assessment due in over the last few weeks and I have been away for the last 2 weekends.
I think you will all like this chapter (Well I hope so)

Kim POV
Today I woke up quite late but the camp was still silent which was unusual considering I lived with 3 boys. I went down to the floor and saw the campfire was lit. This was strange considering I knew it was dying when I went up last night. I walk over to the fire and sit on some of the logs which we have out around it and see someone sitting with my back to them. I go up to scare them but just before I managed to scare them, they turn round and scare me.
"You still think you can scare me" He whispered in my ear. It's only then do I realise it's Jack
"Jack your back. We've missed you" I say hugging him
"Well I've missed you as well" He says back
"When did you get back?" I ask him
"Late at night. The campfire was out so a while after you went to bed" He answers
"Oh. I couldn't of stayed awake that long" I say
"It's fine. To be honest once the Island asked us about some cheating thing I knew I wouldn't have seen you guys awake last night" he tells me
"I don't get why they asked you though" I say
"They weren't asking about the challenges but about camp life, checking if we had anything which wasn't allowed but they did ask if we did spot anyone cheating during that camping challenge"
"You were helping us during that challenge weren't you" He nods
"Thanks for that. It really helped us" I say
Then Jerry appears and runs and jumps onto Jack.
"Jack your back. I've missed you sooooo much and your cooking" Jerry says as Jack puts him down
"What about my cooking. I could have let you starve" I say
"Yours is good but Jack's is better" He tells me to my face
"How are you Jack? You look fine" Jerry asks Jack
"I'm fine. Tired but just fine" He says
"If you're tired then go back to bed. We haven't got a challenge today" Jerry offers
"Well I wouldn't be able to sleep in this light and I'm more awake now" Jacks tells him
"Did you have to play any challenges during your time away from here?" Jerry asked
"I did some like I helped out the campers during your camping challenge, did knockout in the dark using only a torch, did some thing up in the trees and yesterday I was placed in a cage and then was suddenly released to do a puzzle before using the map I made to find my way to camp." Jack answered. At that point I walked off to give the boys some time to catch up. It gave me a few minutes to gather my thoughts. I didn't know how to approach him about the kiss that happened the night before he left and I didn't just want to spring it on him. I actually wanted to get some answers out of him as he told me he had learnt some things while he was away from us.
The horn sounded when I went to collect my thoughts so I brought the bag over and when I went over Milton and Eddie had come down and they were all talking.
"Oh goodie food" Jerry said like an excited little boy
I went in the bag and found the note before passing the bag onto Jerry who pulled out different things before settling on what he wanted to eat.
"The note says: Today you have a day off but challenges will return as normal tomorrow. Your missing campmate should be with you by now. If they aren't then one of you will be allowed into the jungle to try and find them. Enjoy this day off as there might be another" I read out
After we finish breakfast we go into the sea for a while as the day is heating up quite quickly and play games for a while. We find the ball and chuck it about and do swimming races in the sea. We end up going into teams for a game of dodge ball in the sea. Jerry, Milton and Eddie decide that it should be them against me and Jack because we are better than them, they should be the ones with the extra player. Me and Jack completely thrashed them every time we played them so then Jerry decided to mix the teams up with Jack and him on one team and me, Eddie and Milton on the other. It got to a point in every game where it was me and Jack playing against each other. I won a few of them but Jack won most of them.
It was almost lunch when we got out of the sea because it started to rain. We had lunch up in the tree house where we started to talk about Jack's experience.
"So how did you get taken Jack? Your one of the best here" Milton asked
"I came down one morning to get the fire going but then when I came back after collecting wood. There was about 50 people waiting for me and then they all tried catching me so I ran away from them but there was too many of them and they caught me and took me into the forest."
"Did you live in the area that we saw the other day?" Eddie asked
"What area?" Jack wondered
"The area that had 2 bunk beds and a small campfire" Eddie answered
"Oh yeah. That was our bedroom and campground but I was never there." Jack said and we gave him a look
"I hated 2 of the 3 people I stayed with so I never wanted to be around them and they always stayed around camp" He carried on saying
"Who else was there?" Milton asked
"There was that super quick boy from Fire who is called James, One of the boys from Wood called Felix and the quick girl from Earth who is called Bex" Jack answered
"Who was the one that you hung around?" Eddie asked
"Well I often on my own considering we went our own in the forest but she has helped me a lot to figure things out after I came across this book in some area and she spotted me reading it."
"It's the girl" Jerry interrupted
"Yes but James is a complete idiot and Felix followed him since they got along well so the girl was the only one I got along with" Jack continued to say
"Did you only go back there to sleep?" Milton asked
"Pretty much. We had to be there to do challenges and food was delivered there so I turned up when I heard the horn go so I could some food. The food was delivered in a bad like the ones we get our food in but inside there was 4 smaller bags with our names on and that contained our food. I often took my food and cooked it later once the other boys were finished with the fire and went off for their evening walk."
"You mentioned before about a book, what was it about?" I asked as that was puzzling my mind
"Oh that. It was something about how the past members of the island will form the future members. That reminds me, Kim you know how we found that diary and how you recognised the picture of your grandma last week sometime" I nod at that "well it's because she was the one here about 50 years ago like Milton predicted the photos age was when the last people who were on the Island. They are doing the same thing as we are now the only difference is that there were more of them back then. From what I read from the book and from what Bex told me, all of us would have some family member who was on the Island before whether it's a grandparent in most people cases or an aunt or uncle." Jack went on to say to us
"So once before there was someone sitting here on this island who is in my family" Jerry says and Jack nods
"That now makes sense. My grandma used to tell me stories about an island with an evil centre and my dad used to say that she had a wonderful imagination and that it was scenes from a film she was remembering yet my granddad told me about how he used to believe them. It actually stories about here time here" I say. When I mention my family it makes me miss home and my dad who I haven't seen in a long time
"You said something about an evil centre, could that be the prison I saw?" Eddie asked
"What prison?" Jack asked
"When I was doing a challenge the other day, I had a perfect view of the island and in the centre of it there was a prison and as Kim said that there was an evil centre and that the prison is in the centre so could they be linked" Eddie explained
"That would make sense that there is a prison though. You know how that there have been 5 campmates taken from game play. Where do you think they have gone?" Jack asked
"I thought they had gone home" Jerry said and we all agreed with him
"They can't go home yet because we are still playing. They are being held in the prison till the game has finished if not longer" Jack told us.
"Well who controls the prison then?" Milton asked
"Someone called The Keeper" Jack answered
"I remember Kim telling us about him before" Jerry said
"Well that was because when I was speaking the Kim when you guys were doing Knockout, Bex came and told me that The Keeper is on his way. She was right though because The Keeper was about and if he had seen me here... Well I would have been close to death." Jack goes on to say
"Just a question though: Who is the Keeper?" Eddie asks
"No one really knows the answer. The Keeper is the name for the guy who runs the island but he is also the bad guy in all of this. He created the teams, he decided who was going to get kidnapped, and he controls the weather to some degree"
"He controls the weather!" Milton says in surprise
"Kind of. It's hard to explain. The rain we get is natural but the temperature and daylight hours are controlled by him. The Keeper is the one who decides how everything is going to go but what I know that there is someone in his team working against him" Jack tells us
"How do you know that?" Jerry asks
"It's obvious, every time people have come to the island before people have escaped meaning that someone is working against him and he has not found out who it is yet" Jack says and I figure it makes sense
"So the Keeper is still a big question mark then" Eddie says
"Pretty much. We now know he's behind a lot of the things which happen on this Island but if there is anything more up his sleeve, that's a big question mark" I tell Eddie
"Jack did the girl say anything about the points we keep winning?" Milton asks
"Well she said that the points will either give you an advantage or disadvantage in the final race but it's not known what the race is yet and what the advantage or disadvantage is yet or if it gives a big help or not." Jack replies to Milton
"I've just been thinking thought about what you had found out and it explains quite a lot of what we found but what it doesn't explain is why diary entries were left half finished and why boxes full of valuable things have just been left to rot" Eddie says after a few minutes of silence
"That's true. We found more boxes of things while you were gone Jack and everything we found was unfinished pieces of work or items of jewellery and things like that were just left" Milton adds
"I think the final day must have started during a rest day or in the evening when people were writing but it must have come without warning because they have just left everything" Jack suggested
"We were told that Knockout was the halfway point so maybe we can figure something out from there" Eddie pointed out
"Thinking about it, there must have been more that 5 people on that team from all the boxes and diaries we have found" Milton said
"And remember that not everyone would have either let something or written something down" Eddie added
"I was told there was more people back then so it would make sense that there was more people per team" Jack said.
After that point the rain stopped and we went our own ways. Jerry I think went for an afternoon nap, Milton went to so a puzzle he's found and Eddie followed him. This just left me and Jack.
"You know I think I missed you most of all" Jack whispered in my ear after they had all gone
"I've missed you a heck of a lot. I've needed your company around especially at times when Milton and Jerry are arguing over something stupid" I told him
"Have they got on your nerves then?" he asks
"Some of the time" I answer
"We can't have that can we" I shake my head
We sit in a silence with me resting me head against him and him rubbing his arm up and down my side till we hear Milton and Jerry arguing about the existence of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
"This is what I have to put up with" I say to Jack
"I'll be back in a sec" Jack tells me as I walk out of the room.
I hear Jack go and sort it out. When he left the room I began thinking about the kiss and if we would talk about it. It seemed like Jack had forgotten about it or he had moved on over me. I had been thinking about that all day but after us sitting there like we were, I was beginning to think otherwise but I wasn't to ask first. I had always believed that the guy should make the first move or else he is a coward.
I saw soo deep into my thoughts that I missed Jack coming back into the room till he spoke to me
"What are you thinking about?" Jack asked me bringing me out of my thoughts
"Just nothing" I said as I didn't want to tell him it was about us
"Are you sure?" He asked me with these eyes staring right at mine which distracted me but I do nod.
He comes over to me where I'm sitting on the bed and we sit there in silence. I play with my fingers and when I look at Jack he looks in deep thought.
"If I remember rightly, we had to talk about something didn't we" Jack says after a while and I feel a blush come to my face
"We might have done" I mutter
"But what was it about?" Jack asks in a way that I knew he knew what was it about and he had the look in his eye that he was up to now good
"Do you want me to remind you?" I ask him. Once I've said it I surprise myself because I didn't expect me to say that
"Oh please" He says and slowly we both began to lean in and my lips meet his. I suddenly remember how good the kiss felt and how much of a good kisser he was. We only separated for air when we needed it.
"Wow that is defiantly something worth remembering" He muttered barely audible
"Sooo... Where does that put us now?" I asked him with the awkward tension between us rising. I looked over and I saw a hint of nervousness glance across them which is something I've never seen him before.
"Well if you want you can be my girlfriend and when we get off the island I'll take you on a proper date" He says after a bit.
"I would love to" I say to him and we smile at each other and lean in again for another kiss. We spend the rest of the afternoon catching up with each other and he showed me how to make some bracelets out of this leaf.
"Are we going to tell the others?" I ask Jack as we come down to get a campfire going later in the evening
"It's your choice. I'm not bothered either way" He says to me
"We can tell them later" I whisper to him as Eddie and Milton arrive
The others arrive to the campfire one by one as the temperature gets cooler.
"Jack thinking back to what you said earlier, do you know how it's now getting really cold in the evening now is that due to The Keepers work?" Milton asks
"Yep. He is deciding that now he wants it to get cold at night so we huddle around campfires building our team-bonds" Jack answers to Milton
"That's not cool. We could freeze in our sleep now thanks to him" Jerry says
"Jerry at this temperature we can't freeze in our sleep. We'd just get cold" Milton argues with him
"But if you get cold then you can freeze" Jerry fights back. The only reason it didn't go any further was because the horn went off and Jerry went to get it. When he gets back, he immediately passes the bag to Jack
"I'm guessing you me to do dinner" He says to Jerry and he nods
"What about my cooking?" I say in a slightly offended voice
"It's fine but I want Jack to cook it tonight. I've missed it" Jerry says obviously not caring about my feelings
"Can I Kim? Can I cook dinner?" Jack asks me
"Sure why not. You were originally the camps chief" I answer him. It would actually be nice not having to cook dinner for once.
"Read out the note if there is one" Eddie says
Jack passes me the note as he gets dinner going and I read it over.
"Team Water, we have now got to the bottom of the cheating and the person who has been cheating had been taken away for the amount of days his cheating has caused another person to be taken out of the game. I hope that your campmate has now rejoined you. Tomorrow's challenge is a team challenge so you all will be participating." I read out
"Straight back into action Jack" Eddie says
"Well today was my rest day" Jack replies as he dishes out our dinner. Dinner is quite silent as everyone is digging into the meal that we had the other night yet somehow tastes better with Jack cooking it.
After dinner we all slowly left to go to bed as for some reason by the end of the day we were all tired and it wasn't long till it was just me and Jack left. Jack reckoned it was only about 9.30 by the time we had gone up and we were now standing outside my bedroom door.
"Well goodnight then Jack" I say quietly so we don't wake the others up
"Goodnight Kim. Sweet dream" He says and we lean in to share a goodnight kiss. When it finished I turned back into my room and Jack went down to his room. I went straight to sleep with my mind at rest and replaying the highlights of today.
Jerry POV
Did I just witness Jack and Kim kissing? Why didn't they tell me or the rest of the team? I should go and tell Milton. Wait I shouldn't as he will be mad at me for waking him up. I will remember it for tomorrow.
