Delfino Square was going through a severe thunderstorm as Dry Bowser, Petey Piranha, Toadette, and Funky Kong all were hanging out in the resturant near the drawbridge, watching the water rise as lightning zapped several of the bright yellow trees.
"Huh. This storm is tougher than it looks," Funky Kong commented as he adjusted his purple sunglasses.
Dry Bowser scoffed as he folded his skeletal arms together. "Peh. I've done much worse damage." He remarked.
Toadette gasped as she moved her hands around, her eyes widening. "Wow, Dry Bowser? Is that true?"
Dry Bowser rolled his eyes as he posed, pointing up at the ceiling with his right skeletal hand. "Well of course it's true! I'm an electric power wielding skeleton!" He snapped back as he glanced at Toadette.
"Then how come you rarely boast about it?" Funky commented as he picked up a nearby plain donut and munched on it, with Petey mumbling in agreement.
Dry Bowser turned his head to Funky as he placed his hands on his skeletal hips. "Because I prefer not to show off. Being cocky can easily land you in situations that you might not want to be in."
"Like the time you and me got thrown in jail when we went to the Frontier Canyon just to free the Flickies from those mean Klegan badniks?" Toadette remarked as she held her hands behind her back.
"Yeah... exactly." Dry Bowser confirmed as he then had a shocked expression on his face, turning to Toadette. "Wait, how do you remember that?"
Toadette was about to comment when all four of them heard Mario crying out in pain, the red capped Italian plumber being zapped by lightning as he was attempting a time trial during the storm, riding on his Shooting Star kart.
"Mamma mia!" Mario exclaimed in pain as he was completely shocked, covered in smoke as he coughed. "That's the last-a time I decide to go up against the weather-a..."
Petey chuckled in response as Dry Bowser, Toadette, and Funky all casted a glance at the mutated Piranha Plant, who simply shrugged in his defense as they watched Mario get zapped by lightning again, much to his dismay.
"Uwaah! If I knew the storm was going to be this severe, I would have stayed home!" Wario exclaimed as he couldn't control his steering on his Rambi Rider, going right off the wooden pier and into the sea.
The Piantas watching glanced at each other as they laughed at Wario's misfortune, although they genuinely did feel bad for the fat man.
"Who thought driving in the middle of a rain storm was a good idea?" Waluigi asked as he was in his Zipper bike, constantly getting zapped by lightning as he was shrunk, being near the concrete bridge as three Dry Bones in Dry Bombers all pushed him to the side easily, all of them using snaking techniques.
"If you can't handle the rain, then stay off!" Laughed one of the Dry Bones as he wasn't paying attention to the road due to gloating, causing him to bump into a fruit stand as he got buried in fruit.
Waluigi smirked as he got back up to see, zipping past the fruits as the Dry Bones moaned, getting zapped by lightning and being reduced to a pile of bones.
R.O.B. was taking shelter in the bright yellow forest behind the race course, noticing that the harsh pouring wasn't coming down as much while under the trees. Glancing up, the Robotic Operating Buddy moved his mechanical arms slowly as he took in appreciation of the trees.
"If there's another good thing about trees, it's that their leaves suck up most of the water," He statd as he continued exploring the forest, barely getting wet as a result of the trees being so bunched up together.
