Yu: I'm pretty sure MK forgot about us.
Me: I didn't forget.
Yu: Yeah, then why didn't you update us for like 2 weeks?
Me: Cause I'm updating biweekly?
Yu: Oh.
Me: It's just easier for me and gives me more time to work with the story.
Yuri: MK owns nothing but herself and her laptop.
Me: This chapter is dedicated to Sophie, a teenage girl battling cancer. I'm praying for you sweetie and love talking to you. Hope you enjoy.
Chapter 14: Shattered
Yu's POV
I'm working with the girl to help other bladers out. Everything is going great when suddenly, something hits the back of my head. Pain radiates through my head and I fall unconscious.
"Yu," a female voice echoes. My eyes open slowly and Mei Mei's face fills my sight. I jump a little but that only makes my headache worse. Mei Mei and I sit in the middle of the room, both chained to the floor.
"Are you alright?" The Indian Director asks me. He sits on the other side of the room, chained to the wall, along with the sleeping or unconscious, not sure which one that is, Chinese.
"Yeah, I'm okay." I sit up slowly and take a small sip of water from a bottle Mei Mei offers me.
"What happened?" Mei Mei asks. "How'd you get here?"
"I was working with someone to free some bladers from the building rubble."
"Why was their rubble?"
"Cause Iroh blew up the WBBA building…"
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah, did he explain that?" I nod towards the Indian Director.
"No, he didn't." Mei Mei starts when suddenly the door opens. Iroh walks in with a ring of keys.
"Hello, Mei Mei. I'll be back for you soon. I promise. I'm sorry you have to stay with these idiots but just bear with it." He caresses her chin. She glares at him and pulls away.
"Leave her alone." I shout. He turns his eyes towards me with a glare worth of Yo-Yo.
"Why don't you shut up?!" Iroh brings his foot into my stomach. I skid backwards until the chains around my wrists stop me. The metal digs into my wrists almost to the point of blood.
"Iroh!" Mei Mei shouts. He looks at her horrified face and changes.
"I'm sorry, Baby." He caresses her face again. "I won't do that if you don't like it." Iroh walks over to me and slams the keys into the cuffs. He unlocks them and yanks me from the ground.
"Where are you taking him?!" The Director shouts.
"You'll see very soon."
***At the WBBA(About Half-hour after Iroh left)***
Tsubasa's POV
"TSUBASA!" Yuri's voice echoes in my ears. "Tsubasa!" I see her blue eyes among the darkness.
"Yuri…"The word comes out faintly.
"Thank goodness you're okay." She sighs.
"His breathing…check his breathing." Ravi's voice instructs.
"What are you doing?" I try but it's getting harder to breathe.
"You…"Yuri laughs bitterly. "You shattered your ribcage."
"Shattered?"
"Yeah. You fell from the helicopter when you tried to save Yu from Iroh." Yuri has to step away as some paramedics take over. They say many different things that are either in Arabic or whatever language they speak in India…or I'm way too out of it. I think it's both since I don't even remember the language of India.
"They said they're taking you to the hospital. I'll join you there soon." Yuri says. She squeezes my hand lightly and lets go as they take me away.
***Later***
Normal POV from here on.
"Yuri." Ravi touches her shoulder. Her heavy eyes struggle to open. "Go home or go to the hospital. Tsubasa's probably waiting to see you."
"Yeah." Yuri stands and makes weird squealing noises as she stretches. "See ya."
"Hey, we'll find him." Ravi encourages. Yuri stops and sighs heavily.
"Yeah…sure."
***At the Hospital***
"Hey there." Yuri faintly smiles as she walks in. "I guess you like hospitals."
"Ha-ha. The food here is terrible." (AN: *Winks to a special reader*)
"Ha." Yuri laughs dryly.
"Come here." Tsubasa says.
"Are you going to try to hug me with a shattered rib cage? And I thought you were the smart character."
"I know right." The two sit in the silence.
"I'm….I'm going to go see the Doc." Yuri stands. Tsubasa opens his mouth to speak but nothing comes out. The female blader leaves quietly. She shuts the door behind her and walks to the bathroom.
A few minutes later, a toilet flush and Yuri walks out with her hand to her mouth. She cups her hands under the sink and pulls a little water to her mouth. The cold stings her lips. She looks up and sees her pale face in the mirror.
Why? The thought ran through her mind…again… and again…
She had been helpless through this mission. Because of her, TWO Directors had been kidnapped, Tsubasa was in the hospital AGAIN, and Yu was missing…Iroh was probably not treating him the greatest either. All because she failed.
Yuri leans her head against the cold porcelain and sinks to her knees. She was the leader of the group and she was failing.
A shadow appeared behind her.
I'm sorry.
The figure grinned evilly and attacked.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Me: CLIFFHANGER! DUN DUN DUN!
Tsubasa: You are one of the worst people I have ever met.
Me: Aw, I feel loved.
Yuri: Am I depressed?!
Me: Kinda.
Yu: SHE HAD IROH KICK ME ACROSS THE ROOM!
Me: Your chains stopped you.
Tsubasa: SHE SHATTERED MY RIB CAGE…
Me: Minor Injures…
Yuri: Alright! MK says thanks for reading and…
