"Wow," Jeremie said, though he wasn't nearly as impressed as he tried to sound like. "So you've dated almost every girl on the eighth grade." He and Ulrich had just finished listing a bunch of names for Odd. To which every one, he responded positively.

"Everyone except Heidi Klinger," Odd said. Though, that wouldn't be like that for long most likely.

"Are you trying to do some kind of a record here?" Ulrich asked him.

"Naah, not really," answered Odd. "I'm searching for true love," he proclaimed highly. Ulrich and Jeremie switched amused glances. Whenever Odd was talking about true love or whatnot, no one took him that seriously.

"Look who's there?" a familiar voice sounded. An annoyingly familiar voice which belonged to none other than Sissi Delmas. "Hi Ulrich. Would you like to come to the movies with me today?" she asked.

"Depends on the movie," Ulrich responded blandly, but gave Sissi a hint of hope that he would maybe accept the invite.

"Adventure in the Tropics," Sissi told the name of the movie that was currently rolling in cinemas. She tried to make it sound like a really good movie with her tone of voice.

"Aw, too bad. I've already seen that one," said Ulrich. "Sorry." He tried to sound like he was sorry. And the act worked at least considering from Sissi's upset reaction. After that, Herb desperately tried to tell Sissi that he'd go with her. He was coldly rejected.

"So have you seen Adventure in the Tropics?" Odd asked Ulrich while they were brushing their teeth.

"Of course not," Ulrich answered. "I would rather read math homework than go to see a movie with Sissi." His response to Odd's question caught the attention of Herb who was right behind them.

"You make me sick, Ulrich!" Herb burst. "You believe you're so cool. I'm gonna hit your teeth into your throat!" He was mad. But Ulrich was not impressed by his empty threats.

"Oh really? Then go ahead," he said casually at the seething Herb. "What are you waiting for?" he added as a cherry to the top, getting Herb to struggle with words. Herb came up with nothing to say, so he started going around, trying to make some good martial arts moves. He looked silly to say the least. In the end, it was not Ulrich but the sink that faced the wrath of his fist. Also the sink was not the one to feel pain, but Herb himself.

"Ouch, that must've hurt," Ulrich said casually as Herb left them as quickly as he could. Odd was laughing next to Ulrich.

"Jealousy makes people crazy," he told Ulrich.

"Yeah," Ulrich responded shortly. "And love messes up with people's brains."

Jeremie walked up to them. "Hey, I'll go and look for Aelita. I promised to give her my croissant. She likes them so much with hot chocolate," he said and soon disappeared.

"What was it that you said about love, Ulrich?" Odd asked a question. "What does it do to people's brains?"

"That rule apparently has no exceptions," Ulrich said amusedly and entered the showers. Odd followed.

"Talking about hot chocolate, I have a date with Heidi," Odd said while the water flowed on the shower floor. So there goes the one girl he has not yet dated on the eighth grade.

"Will you give her your croissant?" Ulrich joked, knowing that Odd would never give his food to anyone. Not even to the 'true love' he was searching for.

"Are you kidding?" Odd asked. Yes, he was. "A man as to eat, you know."

They continued talking about casual stuff. Unknown to them, something devious was emerging from one of the wall plugs in the other room. Something that would very soon ruin their whole day.

Ulrich and Odd got dressed up and headed to the cafeteria. Odd was thrilled since he knew Heidi would be there waiting for him. He was hopeful of finding true love.

They spotted Heidi sitting on the small stairs in front of the cafeteria. Odd was just about to go up to her, but suddenly Jeremie walked in. Heidi stood up and asked something. Odd didn't hear what she said but figured that Heidi must have been asking where Odd was.

Then the unexpected happened. Jeremie placed his hands on Heidi's shoulders and pulled her closer. And then he kissed her. Odd and Ulrich looked in shock at what was happening. Jeremie quickly ran out of the situation. But before that he gave a short glance to Odd's direction.

"Unbelievable!" Odd shouted. Ulrich nodded to him, he agreed completely to the short statement.

That wasn't the only weird thing of the morning. At the very familiar vending machine, Yumi came up to Mathias Burrel and kissed him without any hesitation. Mathias didn't really seem to understand the situation but he was quite glad at that moment.

William was not. He had passed by and saw Yumi kissing Mathias. He was confused and did nothing but stand there while Yumi ran away from the spot.

Heidi was rather mad. When she saw Jeremie and Aelita walking to her direction, she walked up to them immediately.

"Jeremie. Could you please explain to me why you kissed me in front of Odd?" she asked, the irritation sounding clearly from her voice. But oddly enough, Jeremie didn't seem to know anything about that.

"What are you saying?" he responded to Heidi's question. "Have you lost your mind?" He got no answer as Heidi just let out an annoyed sigh and walked away. Aelita started to walk away from Jeremie, as well, saying no word.

"Aelita," Jeremie mumbled. "I…" he tried to get words out of his mouth but the situation was far too weird for him to understand what had happened. "Oh no…" he said to himself.

He soon went to the cafeteria for breakfast. He greeted Ulrich, Odd and Aelita who were sitting at the table. But he only got a cold question from Odd.

"Aren't you going to sit with Heidi?" he asked. "She's all alone there." Odd pointed behind Jeremie. Heidi was alone in that table, not eating but merely mixing the cereals with her spoon.

"Huh?" Jeremie mumbled quietly and went to sit on the seat next to Aelita. He looked at the others but no one was willing to take eye-contact with him. He was still confused. Everyone was blaming him for something he didn't do. So what happened?

"Hey. I don't know what happened. But I swear, I didn't kiss…" Jeremie began, but stopped mid-sentence as Aelita got up from the table and left.

"You know what?" Odd said to him. "That was a complete backstab you romantic." Then he too left the table after Aelita. Not saying a single word anymore.

"But I…" Jeremie tried to fix the misunderstanding. But he was given no chances for it. Ulrich stood up from his chair to leave. Before he left he took the croissant on Jeremie's tray. Since he was supposed to give it to Aelita, he wouldn't need it, right?

Jeremie was left all alone in the table.

On their way out, William came up to Ulrich.

"Hey Ulrich. Good that I stumbled to you," he said. "If you haven't heard yet, Yumi's dating Mathias Burrel." Ulrich who was taking a bite from the croissant stopped before his teeth caught up to it.

"Wait, what!" he said in disbelief.

"Morning all!" Yumi greeted the gang and cheerfully grabbed the croissant from Ulrich's hand. "Hey, thanks Ulrich!" she joked. But Ulrich was in no mood for joking around.

"Apparently, you like Mathias," he said coldly. Yumi was a little surprised by the statement.

"He's nice," she responded. "Why?"

"Is he a good kisser?" William's question was weird to her.

"Huh?" her surprised reaction was genuine, but sadly it wasn't taken so. "How should I know?"

"Don't try to fake it. William saw you," Ulrich said and disappeared from the spot. Yumi was at least as confused as Jeremie before.

"Wha- What?" she tried to ask William what was going on but only got an angry stare.

Jeremie exited the cafeteria and walked up to Yumi.

"Rumor has it that I'm dating Mathias," she said to Jeremie. Hoping that at least someone wouldn't believe so.

"Oh yeah?" Jeremie responded. He sounded annoyed. "Well, rumor has it that I kissed Heidi Klinger." He left Yumi dumbfounded.

They soon heard a somewhat heavy breathing coming a little further. They turned to see who it was. Olivie seemed to be in a hurry.

"Morning," she greeted the two while still breathing heavily. She looked like she'd been running the whole way. "My alarm wasn't on so I overslept. I thought that I might have the time to get at least a croissant from the cafeteria."

"Here," Yumi handed her the croissant she took from Ulrich and he in turn took from Jeremie. Olivie gladly accepted it but noticed something was off.

"Is everything okay?" she asked.

Yumi and Jeremie shook their heads slightly. "There's just some odd rumors going around. They say that I'm dating Mathias and Jeremie kissed Heidi," Yumi answered Olivie's question. Olivie's eyes narrowed because of confuse.

That sounds a bit weird… she thought but soon forgot about it, thinking it wasn't anything to fuss about.

"Anyway, shouldn't we head to history class?" Olivie suggested, to which Jeremie and Yumi agreed.

After walking a while, Jeremie suddenly stopped. He elbowed Yumi.

"Look!" Jeremie said pointing at the vending machines. Yumi and Olivie looked and saw Sissi, Nicholas, Herb, and surprisingly, Ulrich. And he was kissing Sissi. Yumi was taken by shock.

Ulrich soon ran away and Sissi walked to Yumi with a wide smile on her face.

"Hey Yumi," she said smugly. "Is everything fine?" she asked but didn't wait for an answer. Her job was done, Yumi was upset.

If Ulrich only wanted a payback to Yumi, since he believes that she's dating Mathias, I can get the situation, Olivie though. But they shouldn't jump into conclusions just because of rumors.

"Aelita," Jeremie called out at the beginning of their history lesson. "Can we talk?" he asked.

"Not during class," Aelita answered shortly and coldly. She then sat next to Odd while Ulrich took a seat next to Jeremie in the back row. Olivie went to the empty desk in front of Jeremie and UIlrich's.

"Why did you kiss Heidi?" Olivie heard Ulrich asking from Jeremie. She closed everything else out and concentrated fully to them. She knew it wasn't right to eavesdrop but she thought that what they were talking about wasn't any secret.

"I didn't kiss her," Jeremie insisted.

"But I saw you," Ulrich said. "That wasn't so nicely done towards Odd."

"And what about you, then? Kissing Sissi to get back at Yumi. Was that nicely done?" asked Jeremie. Olivie couldn't get herself to understand what was going on with all the kissing today.

"What?!" Ulrich protested. "I didn't kiss Sissi."

"I saw you," Jeremie responded to him quietly and somehow threateningly. Olivie grew more confused of the situation and closed off Ulrich and Jeremie's voices from her hearing, as well.

Either they were all hiding this stuff and really kissed those people but are denying that. Or that X.A.N.A. did something, Olivie speculated. X.A.N.A. could potentially create a ghost and make it switch form and kiss everyone. But it makes no sense for him to do so, he shouldn't understand these things. He has showed a little understanding for human emotions, though…

But wait, it can't be X.A.N.A. Jeremie's been carrying his laptop in his school bag for the whole day. The super scanner would have warned us. But what if X.A.N.A. did something to mess with it… But when? Olivie stopped her thoughts from going all over the place. No, I'm thinking too complicatedly again.

She opened her hearing for all and was greeted by loud laughing. Someone made a joke, she thought, and immediately noticed that the teacher was looking at Ulrich dumbfounded. The rest of the lesson went normally.

After the bell rang, Olivie walked out of the class alone. She'd been keeping a fair distance from the others since she had noticed that they were doing the same ever since the last X.A.N.A. attack. Why they did that, she didn't know for sure.

She went outside the building just in time to see Aelita kissing Nicholas while Jeremie was looking.

So Aelita's getting back at Jeremie for kissing Heidi, Olivie thought. That doesn't seem like something Aelita would do. But what can I say… I have no idea what's going on in their heads. It's frustrating not understanding emotions… Wait, maybe this has something to do with that thing called jealousy…

She left the spot, going to the opposite direction from the scene with Aelita and Jeremie. She walked a fair amount away from people and found a lonely corner with no one nearby. She leaned her back and head against the wall, crossed her arms, shut her eyes and cleared her mind. She didn't want to talk to anyone.

While standing there alone, Olivie thought about many things. About what was going on in her head, what was going on in everyone else's head and what was X.A.N.A. plotting right now. The latter being the one that concerned her the most. During the latest attack, X.A.N.A. had hinted at trying to possess William.

But why would he tell that? Olivie thought. It doesn't make sense for X.A.N.A. to expose his plans. If he wanted to possess someone, he'd just do it without warning. Why is he so illogical? It makes me mad thinking about all this. My nonexistent feelings are all a mess. X.A.N.A. acts like he understands humans. Everyone's kissing each other. What's going on?!

Olivie was startled out of her thoughts as she heard footsteps from behind the corner. She moved no muscle to move out of her small corner, thinking that the one coming her way would ignore her when he or she saw her.

But the footsteps came closer. Olivie thought that they would just go passed her. The echoing of the footsteps stopped at her position, though, and she knew that the someone who came was standing in front of her since light wasn't hitting her eyes anymore.

Lazily, she opened her eyes. The picture was fuzzy at first but her eyes adjusted quickly. She was slightly surprised by who was standing in front of her. Also, she was a little annoyed.

The person standing in front of her was no one else but William.

"William, what are you - ," Olivie started, but her sentence was quickly cut short. She was shocked. William was kissing her. Her body froze and she was pushing herself against the wall, as if to try to escape the scene.

Huh? she thought. What's he… But he likes Yumi, right? Why is he…

She couldn't think clearly. The situation made no sense to her. William was still holding his lips against hers. Slowly, Olivie relaxed. Her tensed up shoulders dropped and she let her arms hang loose. Her eyes looked downwards and she could feel her cheeks heat up. She was blushing.

After just a few more seconds, William backed off from Olivie – who fell on her knees out of sheer confuse and shock.

William chuckled. "Ha, I knew it," he said and left the scene.

It took Olivie a couple minutes to regain her thoughts. She stood up and looked around. William was nowhere to be seen. Her hand moved to touch her lips.

What just happened? she thought. He said that he knew it. Knew what?

She was confused. When she was sure that the surprise didn't show on her face, she left her – not anymore – lonely corner. She walked ahead half-mindedly, almost bumping into someone as she did.

She had to work hard not to show her surprise as William walked towards her direction. But she noticed something weird. William showed no unordinary expression. Olivie became suspicious and reached a conclusion quickly.

He should show some emotion or at least glance at me after what happened, she speculated. There's no way he could conceal it so well. I shouldn't have been so stupid! All the kissing happening and everyone being confused and mad, it was all X.A.N.A.'s doing, after all! I was a complete idiot dismissing that though earlier… I need to find the others.

She went straight to the yard where the vending machines were, knowing that the others would be nearby it. And she was right. Yumi, Ulrich and Odd were there.

"Listen up," Olivie said when she got to them. "The kissing, it's all X.A.N.A. There's a polymorphic ghost going around and switching forms." She expected them to be relieved and understand what was going on now. But she was terribly wrong.

"Oh?" Odd said firmly and coldly. "And why should we believe that?" His voice was so cold and mean, Olivie was startled. She looked over to Ulrich and Yumi, both of them looked at least as cold as Odd.

At least they stopped arguing… Olivie thought childishly.

"What makes you say that?" Olivie asked Odd, who rolled his eyes.

"Don't try to act dumb," Ulrich said. "I thought at least you were above this all." Olivie couldn't understand what Ulrich was saying.

"I know you're good at acting but you're overdoing it," Yumi criticized. "But I agree with Ulrich. I thought you were above this."

Above what?! Olivie thought.

"What did I do?" she asked from the three who were staring at her judgingly.

"Drop the act already," Yumi said annoyed. "You've been away a lot lately and now we know why."

Just tell me already! What did I do?!

"You know," Odd started. "Ulrich and I were just by accident walking around and guess what we saw?" Olivie began to realize.

Ah no… Talk about bad luck… she thought, realizing what they were talking about.

"So how long have you two been going out?" Odd asked mockingly.

"We're not," Olivie said. "And even if we were, why are you so mad? Listen to me before you come to stupid conclusions." Her voice rose towards the end of the sentence. She was angry at Yumi, Odd and Ulrich for not listening to her and instead insult her.

"Yeah, we were stupid all right," Ulrich said. "We should have figured this out from the last attack."

Olivie got tired of listening to them and left. He heard them insulting her but paid them no attention. If they were going to be stubborn and not listen to her, then she should find Jeremie and Aelita.

She first searched Aelita's room. It was empty. Jeremie was found in his room. Olivie explained everything to him.

"Impossible," Jeremie said at first. "The super scanner would have warned us."

"I thought the same," Olivie admitted. She'd calmed down from her conversation with Yumi, Odd and Ulrich. "But what else could be responsible for everyone seeing people kissing someone but the actual person doesn't know anything of it."

Jeremie nodded slowly. "I guess you have a point. Let's go to the Factory and check it up. If the super scanner indeed is bugged it won't help us at all."

"Would you call the others?" Olivie asked Jeremie, who raised an eyebrow.

"You don't want to call them?" he asked a little confused.

Olivie shook her head. "They won't listen to me," she answered. "Don't ask why," she added as she saw Jeremie about to respond to her. So Jeremie searched up Ulrich's number and lifted the mobile to his ear.

"Let's go to the Factory," Jeremie said immediately after Ulrich picked up, not waiting for him to say a thing. "There might be a X.A.N.A. attack."

"What?" Ulrich sounded surprised. "Did the super scanner pick something up?"

"Um, no," Jeremie answered awkwardly. "But Olivie seems certain about it and I don't see why she would lie."

"You don't? Well, I do," Ulrich said and let out a frustrated sigh. "She has a thing with William so why wouldn't she try to hide it with a fake X.A.N.A. attack?"

Jeremie looked at Olivie, so she immediately knew what Ulrich had told him. For the good of everyone, Jeremie was reasonable.

"Are you an idiot?" Jeremie asked Ulrich. "If you by any chance saw Olivie kissing William, that only adds into the theory of X.A.N.A. messing everything up with a ghost. You're coming to the Factory, you like it or not." Jeremie sounded like a parent scolding a child while saying all this. He didn't convince Ulrich, or Yumi or Odd who were listening to the conversation on Ulrich's side of the call, but got them to come.

"Okay, we'll be there," Ulrich said and was about to hang up, but Jeremie had something to say still.

"And besides," he started. "Olivie's not dumb. She wouldn't make up a fake X.A.N.A. attack and lead us to the Factory because of it, since then the rest of us would just know that we should be suspicious of her. Or who do you think we're talking about here?" Jeremie concluded. This made Olivie smile.

"Okay, okay, I get it," Ulrich said hastily, and hung up quickly.

"Thanks for that," Olivie thanked Jeremie.

"No need to thank me," Jeremie said while clicking his way to Aelita's number. He called her phone.

"Aelita here, leave a message," the call went straight into voice mail.

"She's turned off her phone," Jeremie said to Olivie. "But I think I know where she is."

"You go ahead, then," Olivie said, knowing immediately what place Jeremie was talking about. "I'll get the others there just in case."

"Where's Jeremie?" Yumi asked as Olivie came to the park where she was waiting with
Odd and Ulrich. Olivie noticed that they were still confused about the day's events. Plus, they weren't particularly glad about seeing her.

"Aelita didn't answer her phone," Olivie explained. "Jeremie went to the Hermitage to get her. We should go, too," she said.

"Why?" Odd questioned. "Shouldn't we just go ahead to the Factory and wait for them there?"

"If the ghost is at the Hermitage, the safest option we have is to go there," Olivie said clearly and slowly, trying to get the others to understand the situation.

Yumi, Odd and Ulrich switched glances and nodded in agreement. "Let's go then," Ulrich said. And they followed behind Olivie and went to the Hermitage.

At their destination, they were greeted with the sight of Aelita and two Jeremies. That, if something, finally confirmed what Olivie was saying.

"So if I got it right, the other Jeremie is a polymorphic ghost, right?" Ulrich asked Olivie, who nodded to him.

"But which one is the real Jeremie?" Odd asked, and received a tiny smile from Olivie.

"Don't worry," she said. "Aelita will recognize the difference between them." What she said got the others confused and they stared at the scene in front of them.

"Don't believe him, he's X.A.N.A.!" the first Jeremie said to Aelita.

"You shouldn't listen to him! He's the ghost!" the second one countered.

"No, he's the ghost!" the first one said. "I'm the real Jeremie."

"No, I'm the real Jeremie," the second said. "I kissed you, Aelita!"

Aelita realized the difference, just like Olivie had said. "Yes, you did kiss me," Aelita said slowly. "So you're the fake. The real Jeremie would have never kissed me like that." She ran over to the real Jeremie. The ghost tried to grab her arm, but Olivie ran between them and blocked the ghost-Jeremie's hand. She then hit it, getting it to back off a couple of meters.

"Get to the Factory! I'll stay and distract the - ," Olivie said to the others, but was cut short by Odd walking in front of her.

"No, I'll stay," Odd said to her. "I think you haven't been to Lyoko enough lately, and I wasn't particularly nice to you back there when you tried to explain the situation to us. Plus, I'm jealous. This guy here kissed Heidi in front of me." Olivie smiled to him making a joke out of X.A.N.A.'s plan. She nodded and left to the Factory with the others.

"Virtualization!" Jeremie sent Aelita, Yumi, Olivie and Ulrich to the Desert Sector along with their vehicles, Olivie getting to ride Odd's overboard. She found riding it a little difficult at first but adjusted quickly.

As they headed for the active tower, a large swarm of hornets approached. Yumi and Olivie stopped to deal with them while Ulrich and Aelita continued their way to the tower. For their bad luck, X.A.N.A. sent a tarantula to interfere with Ulrich and Aelita. Ulrich started to fight with it and Aelita continued running ahead.

"Watch out!" Olivie shouted to Yumi to warn her about the hornet behind her back. Her warning came a mere second late. Yumi's life points went down to zero. Olivie immediately took out the hornet as revenge, and jumped on to the next one destroying it as well.

I think that was the last one, she thought. But she was wrong, as one more was waiting in silence. Then it shot a laser from Olivie's blind spot. It hit her at the back of her shoulder. She turned around, holding her shoulder with her hand.

Wow, I didn't expect the monster's lasers to hurt that much, Olivie thought. I think this is the first time a monster hits me. A smile made its way onto her face, an excited one. She jumped up and with a swift swing of her scythe, forced it to disappear.

After that, she stood in place, frozen. The smile of excitement was still on her face and her thoughts couldn't process. She was in a sort of a trance.

She quickly shook her head and snapped out of it. She held her head with her hand.

This again… Olivie thought, remembering the last time she fought X.A.N.A.'s monsters. What is going on with me?

She dismissed her thoughts and concentrated on what was important at that moment.

"Jeremie, is there more of them?" she asked, receiving no answer. "Jeremie! How are Aelita and Ulrich doing?" No answer.

This is bad. The spectre must have come to the Factory. I wonder how far ahead Ulrich and Aelita are, I have to hurry.

She took the overboard and darted off as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, Ulrich finally was able to strike the tarantula and get rid of it. He turned to see the tower's direction. He was able to see Aelita on the little plateau where the active tower was. The bridge leading there was gone. He saw the Scyphozoa there with her, about to capture her. He immediately ran over to his overbike, which was in waiting while he fought the tarantula, but it disappeared right in front of him.

"Hey, Jeremie!" he yelled but got no response. "Jeremie!" No response. He came to the same conclusion as Olivie and hurried towards Aelita.

"Super-sprint!"

At the Factory, there were Odd, unconscious Jeremie and two Yumis. Back at the Hermitage, Odd had lost to the ghost and it soon made its way to the Factory. Now, Odd was there too, but he was a little confused as to which Yumi was the real one.

Odd closed up on the one closer to him, thinking about attacking.

"Odd you pea-brain!" the Yumi Odd was going to attack said. "It's me!"

"Yeah right. You think I'm buying that?" Odd said. "In three seconds you'll be destroyed. One, two, three!" But on three, it was not the Yumi in front of him that received the attack, but the both of them went for the other Yumi and knocked it out.

As the polymorphic spectre lied on the ground, Yumi and Odd got Jeremie up from the floor.

Olivie finally reached her destination. All the worry disappeared from her mind as she saw Ulrich on the plateau and Aelita get into the tower.

I think too highly of myself, it seems, she thought. They can manage just well without my help here. That makes me glad and sad at the same time…

"You were right, Olivie," Yumi said to Olivie. "I'm sorry for what I said earlier."

"Me too," Ulrich said apologetically.

"I took a beating from that ghost so I think I've already showed that I'm sorry," Odd said highly.

Olivie nodded to him. "It's okay. I know that it was X.A.N.A. who caused it," she said.

"Yeah, X.A.N.A. really got us all confused and jealous…" Ulrich said as he scratched the back of his head.

"There's one thing that concerns me, though," Jeremie said, getting the others' attention. He turned his eyes to Olivie's direction. "X.A.N.A.'s ghost kissed you in William's form, right?" he asked her.

Olivie nodded. She wasn't sure what Jeremie was thinking about it.

"Shouldn't your anti-X.A.N.A. program warn you about spectres?" Jeremie asked. "It didn't let you go through the dome at the Hermitage, so I don't see why it wouldn't do anything near spectres."

Olivie felt surprised and her eyes widened a little. That's right! In the midst of what happened, I didn't even think of it! This is a huge problem…

"That is completely true…" Olivie told the others. "Jeremie, can you scan me. I want to see if anything's wrong."

She got to one of the scanners and Jeremie scanned her. She quickly came back to the lab, nervous and in haste to see what was going on.

"It appears that the program's effects are slowly fading away," Jeremie said to her. "They shouldn't, am I correct?" he asked and got a nod from Olivie. "Do you have any idea what could have caused this?" he asked and Olivie shook her head.

"Could it have a connection to the super scanner not working?" Ulrich suggested.

"Most likely no," Jeremie said. "I'll look into what's wrong with the super scanner this evening. I think you, Olivie, should be the one doing the thinking about the anti-X.A.N.A. program since you're the one who made it in the first place."

Olivie nodded to him. "Yes, I think that is the best choice," she said half-mindedly. The others noticed that her mind wasn't really present but didn't think of it as weird. They only thought that it was because she was already trying to figure out the problem with the program. Little did they know that her thoughts were on something else…

Back at the academy, the group was outside at the vending machines. They chatted casually about the day's attack. Aelita had something on her mind.

"Jeremie, come here, please," Aelita said.

Jeremie walked to her. "What is it?" he asked.

"Can I check something?" Aelita asked

"Um, sure," Jeremie mumbled.

Suddenly, Aelita kissed Jeremie swiftly. But unlike the spectre earlier, Jeremie froze.

"Haha, I knew it," Aelita said teasingly.

Yumi, Odd and Ulrich joked about it and burst into laughter. Olivie's face, unlike theirs, got slightly gloomy. Unseen by the others, her eyes drifted to William who was standing across the yard.

'I knew it.' That's exactly what X.A.N.A. said back there… Olivie thought. He knew what?

Thank you for reading and I hope you all liked this chapter. Yes, it was a recreation of the episode by the same name from the show itself. And this was one of the very few episodes I really want to recreate in this fanfic. But of course, with Olivie in them. Please leave a review on what you thought about the chapter if you feel like it, and I'll be back with a new chapter. Until then :)
