"What?" She stares at me with wide eyes.

"Okay that came out super wrong! I meant fake girlfriend. I understand completely if you don't want to. It's just that my dad is setting me up with someone, and I know you have a boyfriend. I know you're in love. But i mean this would be fake, 100% fake.I just need you to pretend around my dad. He's trying to force me into dating someone and I'm just not into that right now. And I feel comfortable around you. I'm sorry I'm rambling." I stutter.

"I, I don't know, i'd have to talk to my boyfriend." She stares at me.

"Listen, this was a mistake. I'm so sorry for dragging you into this." I shake my head.

"No Adrien it's okay. Let me just talk to my boyfriend. He's an amazing guy. I'm sure that he'll understand. The whole secrecy thing. And his job is to help other people anyways." She chuckles to herself. I blush. She's such a cutie. I want to kiss her so badly.

"Mari, you don't-"

She reaches up to touch my shoulder.

"Adrien, let me talk to my boyfriend first okay? I'm okay with it. You're one of my best friends and I wouldn't want to be forced into anything. I owe you." She grins.

"Really?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Really." She smiles again. Oh god I want to kiss her.

"Thank you so much." I hug her. She hugs me back. We both pull away and return to the hall.

I sit by the garden. On a wood bench. I dangle my thick running shoes over the dirt path.

"Is there something going on between you and Adrien?"

I turn to face Andrea.

"I-I" I stutter.

"I'm sorry you don't have to answer that, it's personal." She apologizes.

"Uh, no worries." I fake smile. I've been thinking over the whole fake girlfriend thing for awhile. I figure I kind of owe him for looking out for me all the time.

"You know, you could be an influencer." She takes a seat next to me.

"Ha…" I smile.

"No i'm dead serious. You have the looks, the style, the attitude, the talent. You're the whole package." She twiddles her thumbs.

"I've heard it takes a lot of work and time. Which I seem to have very little of." I laugh.

"Oh for sure." Her eyes widen.

I catch a black figure in the corner of my eye. The shadow shifts on the roof tops.

"Andrea, I'm so glad I met you! You're an amazing person! But I have to go." I stand up and shake her hand.

"Dm me!" She says before I run off.

I chase Chat through the streets, watching him run along the rooftop.

I stop, and place my hand on my knees.

"God i'm out of shape." I pant to myself. I kneel down on the ground in the middle of the street. I guess falling into the river really took a toll on me.

I take in a few steadying breaths.

"Tsk. Marinette get off the street! You'll contract a disease!"

I look up and meet Chloés eyes.

"Chloé! I feel like I haven't seen you in years!" I grin and stand up to hug her.

"Yes yes. I'm on my way to the Agreste's." She awkwardly hugs me back. Now that she's even more grown up she's somehow managed to get prettier.

"Are you interning too?" I ask.

"No. I have a job waiting." She holds her designer bag in the nook of her elbow.

"I guess I'll be seeing you throughout the summer then!" I smile.

"Great. Don't feel too bad if we don't see each other much. Modelling is a competitive game!" Chloé rushes away.

"Hey Blondie?"

"Ahh!" I jump. Chat stands leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He chuckles.

"Can we talk."

AdrienPOV

I already know what she'll ask.

"So…" she fiddles with her thumbs.

"Spit it out Bugaboo." I toy with her hair.

"I uh...a guy um...boyfriend uh...fake and all, erm." She fiddles with her skirt.

"Speak up." I tilt her chin up.

I stand in front of her. She's told me the whole story, and I have to act shocked. Mad even. I know that in the end I'll tell her to do it, because I need it. The whole idea is majorly selfish.

"I'm sorry Chat. He just seemed upset about it. It never hurts to ask. But I understand why you aren't comfortable with that. Even though I assure you, Adrien and I are solely friends and nothing more." She hangs her head slightly.

"I trust you Mari. But should I trust him?" I swallow hard hoping that she'll say yes.

"Of course! Adrien would never dare. He's a gentleman if I've ever seen one." She places her hand on my upper arm.

"I'm not sure Mari." I sigh.

"I understand it was almost silly of me to ask." She drops her hand.

"You're too kind to everyone...do you promise to punch him hard if he tries anything?" I raise an eyebrow.

"I'll do more than just punch him." She smiles and makes a cross over her heart.

"That's my girl." I tilt her face up to mine and bring my lips to hers.

"So yes?" She raises my eyebrows.

"So maybe. You can pretend for now. But let me think about it." I smile.

"I swear on my life nothing will ever happen." She hugs me.

"You...my love...need to let go of me before I can't control myself." I bite back a growl.

She giggles and lets go.

"I should text Adrien." She pulls her phone out.

I tense up when I realize I still have my phone on me.

Crap

I shove her against the wall.

"Chat, what the hell." Her eyes go wide as her phone falls to the ground.

"Sorry." I apologize as my lips dive to her neck.

"Chat?! Someone could see us." She struggles against my grip.

I stop but keep my hands firmly pressing her to the wall.

"Kitty?" She looks up at me with her godforsaken bluebell eyes.

"Don't act so innocent Marinette." I smirk.

Her eyes widen.

I let go of her.

"I've got to go Bugaboo. But I'll find you later." I kiss her cheek and then hoist myself upwards to the rooftops.

MariPOV

I stare at my neck in the mirror. That damn cat just had to mark his territory. The red marks run up and down the length of my neck. I shake my head, but I can't stop smiling.

I sit on my bed with my laptop, scanning over the Ladyblog. I've made it apart of my routine, firstly, so that Alya won't get mad at me for not reading up on the articles, and secondly, to make sure nothing is posted about anything that could endanger Chat or me.

The articles are mostly about new merch or quizzes and stuff like that. I scroll down far enough to an ill timed picture of Chat and I. Back when we weren't dating. I smile.

I rise from my bed.

"Tikki, spots on."

I stand at the top of the Eiffel Tower. The wind caresses my hair gently and I stare out across the city. A bright light enraptures the west part.

I land on two feet. A small girl stands at the centre of the mess. She faces away from me.

"Hi sweetie.. it's very dangerous to be outside right now. Where are your parents?" I slowly walk towards her.

She swivels around. Her eyes are a glow.

I leap back.

"No MORE PARENTS!" She screams.

A hoard of people with glowing eyes run towards me.

"Merde." I yelp. I feel a hand around my upper arm. Chat lifts me up. He hangs from his knees on a pole and quickly spins around. I stand next to him.

"So what's the news?" Chat asks. I cross my arms.

"I'm not sure but I don't think that the little girl is the akuma. Something seems off." I scratch my head.

"On my way over here I saw a bunch of people with glowing gold eyes, they seemed to be in a trance. And they were all kids. Maybe a kid got akumatized." He looks around.

"Aren't you a smart Kitty." I scratch underneath his chin. He looks at me with utter content before leaning his head down to mine.

"Ah ah ah Chatton." I grin. "We're on the job."

I scour the city for the akuma. Chat and I decided to split up. I keep my yoyo out incase I receive a call. So far the majority of time spent has been avoiding the glowy eyed children.

Chat: M'lady i'm in a bit of a sticky situation, can you come to the Louvre and help me out? I've dropped transformation, so you'll have to close your eyes.

Me: I'm on my way Kitten, I'll be there in a flash
