Normal POV

"We have managed to get special transportation for you." Said Urahara as he walked down the stairs to the underground training room.

"The head captain has arranged to deactivate the mechanism of the Dangai so you can get to the soul society safely."

"Dangai… the parsing world, a bordering dimension between the human world and soul society, separated from space and time?" said Hinata with doubt.

"Correct Hyuga-san. A Jigokucho, a hell butterfly, is needed so a shinigami can travel between both worlds. But you're obviously not a shinigami and having to go through the Dangai with your unstable reiatsu is too risky. So the mechanisms have been deactivated just for you." Said Urahara as he stopped walking.

"A team of soul reapers have been sent to ensure your safety." Said Yoruichi as she stood next to Hinata.

"Where will I be staying?" Hinata asked as she secured her hold on her bag.

Yoruichi had started laughing after Hinata had asked about her temporary residence which cause Hinata to look at her like as if she was crazy.

"You will be staying in the 10th division barracks but we were informed that you will then stay with the Kuchiki clan."

"Why can't I just stay in the barracks?" asked Hinata confused?

"Captain Hitsugaya and other reapers are going to be sent in a mission in a few days." Explained Urahara.

Hinata only nodded. "Do you think I did wrong by not saying good bye to Ichigo-kun?" she asked with a concerned look.

"Kurosaki has other things in mind and him worrying about you while you're training won't help." Said Yoruichi as she patted Hinata's shoulder.

Hinata nodded and sighed. Moments later, a traditional shoji door appeared in front of them, radiating a bright light.

When it opened, Hitsugaya and Matsumoto walked out the shoji doors.

"Hinata-chan!~" squealed Matsumoto as she hugged Hinata, whom started blushing at the attention.

"Matsumoto-san…" Hinata greeted as she was being crushed. "Can't breathe…" she wheezed out.

"Oh! Sorry Hinata-san!" apologized Matsumoto as she let her go.

"Hyuga." Greeted Hitsugaya with a nod.

Hinata who had been regaining her breath back, simply waved him a hello with one hand as she had her other hand on her throat.

"Oh my! What happened to you Hinata-chan?" asked Matsumoto, finally noticing her bandaged injuries.

Hinata sweat dropped at Matsumoto's realization. "Ano… Well…" Hinata started as she thought of a quicker way to tell her the previous day's events.

"If you would have read the report, you would know Matsumoto." Interrupted Hitsugaya, clearly annoyed at his lieutenant's lack of responsibility.

Matsumoto's response was to pout but then shrugged her shoulders. "You'll just tell me later, right Hinata-chan?" she asked with a toothy smile.

Hinata just nodded with a small smile.

"We should start heading back now." Said Hitsugaya.

"Right." Agreed Urahara. "Before you leave Hyuga-san. These are for you." He handed her a small medicinal case. "These are in case your reiatsu causes you to convulse again."

Hinata nodded as she put the case away in one of her bags. "Thank you Urahara-san."

Urahara smiled in response. "I'll leave you in charge to keep her safe while she's under your jurisdiction." He said to Hitsugaya in a protectively manner.

Hitsugaya only nodded in understanding. He grabbed one of the bags Hinata had packed while Matsumoto grabbed the other. Hinata protested but gave up and walked with them to the shoji doors after saying farewells to Urahara and Yoruichi.

"Ah! Hyuga-san!" Urahara called. "No matter the circumstances, stay away from Kurotsuchi, Mayuri!" he said before the shoji doors closed completely.

"Ahh… Who is that?" asked Hinata as she saw Matsumoto and Hitsugaya nod to what Urahara said.

"He's the captain of the twelfth division and president of the Shinigami Research Institute." Said Matsumoto as they walked on the purple ground. "He is a mad scientist." She concluded.

"He sees everything as an object to research, including himself." Stated Hitsugaya. "He'll definitely want to research you since there isn't much information about the Hyuga's."

"Another person after my eyes, that sums about it." Hinata stated.

Hitsugaya and Matsumoto give her a glance through the corner of their eye to observe her reaction to her conclusion and they saw she was pretty calm about the situation.

"Don't worry. Almost nobody knows of your stay, and Kurotsuchi has been ordered to stay away from you." Said Hitsugaya.

"Besides you have us to protect you." Said Matsumoto as she pointed to Hitsugaya and herself with a grin.

"But you guys will leave…" said Hinata unsure of what to think.

"Captain Kuchiki will be ordered to look after you and I assure you, there's no one better to look after you…" Hitsugaya said. "Obviously after the 10th division." He chuckled.

Hinata giggled at his comment while Matsumoto just stared in disbelief at her captain.

"Did he just try to impress Hinata?" the strawberry blonde asked herself then smiled deviously.

"Nee~ captain. I believe the safest room in the 10th division barracks for her to stay would be your room, don't you think?" the blonde asked teasingly, loving the twitch and the small blush that appeared on her captain's face.

She then turned to look at Hinata who was as red as a tomato looking down.

"Matsumoto…" Hitsugaya warned. But noooo…. Matsumoto just couldn't let this chance slip up.

"I mean, you would be there to protect her just in case captain Kurotsuchi disobeyed direct orders. It's better to be safe than sorry." She explained herself. "But you would have to share your bed… That's not a problem! You guys are small enough to fit on the same bed." She giggled.

One thing is to tease Hitsugaya about a girl but to tease his height was another thing. "Matsumoto! You will be working overnight as punishment for lack of respect towards your superior and special guest!" he ordered. "And if I find out you left your work behind to go drinking, you will not live to see the end of it." He warned, giving a dark aura around him to support his threat.

Matsumoto gulped and nodded quickly but quickly relaxed as the thought of her captain warming up to other people than Hinamori and herself.

Hinata had already calmed her blushing face by the time Matsumoto turned to look at her. She gave the taller women a sympathetic smile which the women waved off as if what the male had threatened was nothing, and gave her own smile.

They were arriving to the end of the path when shoji doors appeared, waiting for them. They opened when the two shinigami and the human were close enough.

When Hinata walked out the doors, she was blinded by the bright sun as it her eyes. After a few seconds to adjust she saw Matsumoto and Hitsugaya were in front of her, waiting.

She observed her surroundings, she realized the general appearance of the buildings looked like the feudal japan period.

As they walked, Hinata felt like she was in a maze. She kept close to Hitsugaya as she felt she would get lost if she didn't.

While Hitsugaya didn't think too much about Hinata's closeness Matsumoto couldn't stop thinking about how cute they looked together.

Once they started getting closer to the barracks, Hinata could tell she was being stared at by what she assume were other shinigami because of their uniform, but nobody dared to come close to her while walking with Hitsugaya and Matsumoto.

When they arrived to the barracks' dorms, Hinata was shown where her room would be. A hallway away from Hitsugaya's and next to Matsumoto.

Although Matsumoto insisted that the captain and the Hyuga shared room, Hinata and Hitsugaya opposed to the idea.

Hinata was left alone to accommodate to her temporary room, while Hitsugaya and Matsumoto, mainly Hitsugaya, continued their duties. However, she was given the message by Matsumoto that she was to meet the head captain.

When Hinata walked out of her room to meet the head captain, she saw Hitsugaya had been waiting around the corner for them, ready to escort her.

On their way to the meeting place, Hinata tried to memorize her surroundings in case she was to wander by herself but found it rather difficult to memorize every hallway.

"It's like a maze…" she whispered to herself, but Hitsugaya heard her.

He chuckled at her comment, and his action interrupted Hinata's thoughts. She looked up to him to find that he had the slightest smile on his face. It was more like smirk.

"You will not be left alone so you won't get lost." Hitsugaya told her.

At that remark, Hinata blushed in embarrassment as she realized the white haired male had heard her observation of her surroundings.

Matsumoto who was a few steps away from them could not help but grin like crazy at the display in front of her.

When they reached the doors of their destination, Hinata was told to relax by Matsumoto as the taller women noticed Hinata was tense.

Hinata could only nod and before the doors opened, she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Gaining some confidence.

What she did not expect was the huge amount of reiatsu in one room. It was because there were people, captains she assumed by the haori on their backs.

There were only a few people in the room, she was able to count five people in total, counting Hitsugaya of course.

Hitsugaya had left Hinata to go their designated place while Matsumoto stood outside but ushered Hinata inside. Hinata stood in the middle of what would be hallway made by the captain's standing on the left side in a line. She decided to not walk past the beginning of the line formed by these people. The doors closed behind her, leaving Matsumoto outside and only the few captains inside.

All the captains stood straight, with an air superiority. Hinata did not let their superiority nor their reiatsu intimidate her knowing that she would be seen as weakling if their mere presence intimidated her.

She raised her head and released a slight amount of reiatsu as a message towards the people in the room. However, she did not want them to take it as a disrespectful act, so she also gave a deep bow.

When she raised her head she saw some heads were bowed slightly. To this, she gave herself an imaginary pat on back.

"Welcome to the Soul Society Ms. Hyuga." Said a gruff deep voice. Hinata saw it came from the man in the middle. He appeared to be an old man because of his very long white beard and his eyebrows, also white, were abnormally long as well. Two perpendicular scars could be seen above his right eye. He wore the standard shinigami uniform but Hinata could tell its size was greatly exaggerated. She knew he was a captain because of the haori over his back he drapes instead of wearing it.

"Thank you for having me." Hinata responded with a firm yet gentle voice as she bowed her head towards the elder man.

"Let's start with introductions. I am, Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni. Captain of the 1st Division in the Gotei 13 and also the Captain-Commander of the whole Gotei 13." He introduced himself. He then signaled with his head for the next person to introduce themselves.

"Soi Feng, commander-in-chief of the stealth force and captain of the 2nd Division." Introduced a petite women with gray eyes and black hair worn short but with two long braids bound in white cloth, each ending in large golden rings. She wore the traditional shinigami captain's uniform with a sleeveless haori and a yellow obi tied around her waist. Instead of wearing the standard shinigami sandals with tabi, she wears traditional Chinese shoes with ordinary white socks.

"Unohana Retsu, captain of the 4th division." Unohana introduced herself again, giving a smile towards Hinata as in recognition.

Hinata then made a note to self to remember to thank Unohana for the healing kido she had learned and used when she fought Yami.

But her thoughts were interrupted by a young man of 5'11 feet with slate gray eyes and long black hair with white headpieces, one on top of his head and another two on the right side. He wore the standard captain uniform with the addition of a white scarf that appeared to be made out of best materials. Besides the scarf he wore fingerless white tekko which only cover the back of his hands.

Hinata had to admit that he was quite handsome even with the serious face.

"Kuchiki Byakuya, captain of the 6th division." He said staring at her with no emotion in his face and a stern voice.

The only thing Hinata could think of his introduction was nobility. That he was from a prestigious noble clan.

Yet once again her thoughts were interrupted by Hitsugaya as he introduced himself as professional as it could be.

"Hitsugaya Toushiro, captain of the 10th division." He said with a serious face but Hinata could see in his eyes the playfulness of having to introduce himself again.

Hinata then introduced herself as she gave a deep bow. "Hyuga Hinata."

"The people in this room are the only ones that know of your bloodline as well as the ones who will assist with your training." Explained Yamamoto. "As for your stay, captain from the 10th division will leave on a mission 3 days from now, after he does, captain of the 6th division will be your host."

"I appreciate everything you're doing for me." Hinata said as she bowed towards Hitsugaya and Byakuya.

They both nodded their heads in acknowledgement.

After a few minutes of discussing what would happen to Hinata during her stay, they came to the conclusion she would train for two weeks and then she would leave for the Hyuga clan for her byakugan training. No one else besides the captains in the room and their lieutenants were to know about her bloodline. She is to be guarded at all times, and avoid encountering Zaraki Kenpachi, captain of the 11th division, and Kurotsuchi. With that, the meeting was concluded.

Hinata was the first one to leave the room, few seconds later Hitsugaya and Matsumoto followed after and then were headed back to the division's barracks.

"Who will I be training under?" asked Hinata after taking a seat in Hitsugaya's office. Matsumoto was sitting on the other couch across from her while Hitsugaya sat at his desk and started looking at papers.

"Originally you were going to be trained at school however due to the reason that your visit is to be kept hidden putting you in school would attract unwanted attention. Therefore, each captain that was in the meeting were assigned to assist you on your training."

"Captain Unohana I understand, she would teach me healing kido as well on how to control my reiatsu, but what skills does captain Soi Fon-san and Kuchiki-kun have that would help me?" asked Hinata.

Hitsugaya felt a twitch on his forehead at the "kun" added to Byakuya's last name. He was confused as to why it bothered him but reasoned that it was him being overprotective of her. After all, there was a moment when he saw her in a fragile state.

"Soi Fon is an expert when it comes to hand-to-hand combat." Joined in the conversation Matsumoto. "Since you mainly use hand-to-hand combat, it'll be as tuning up your skills."

"And Kuchiki would teach you kendo." Said Hitsugaya. "He's not that great…" he muttered under his breath and fortunately nobody heard him. Hitsugaya sighed at his attempt to belittle Byakuya, although to himself, yet he knew that Byakuya was the most recommended person to teach Hinata kendo.

"Captain! Why don't we show Hinata-chan around?" asked Matsumoto loudly.

"Maybe she should change first to not cause attention." Suggested Hitsugaya.

"I can lend you one of my uniforms!" said Matsumoto happily.

"I don't think it wi-" Hitsugaya was saying until he got interrupted by Matsumoto.

"Come one Hinata-chan!" said the taller woman as she pulled the smaller towards the door by her wrist.

Hitsugaya just stared at the door the two women had just exited through in disbelief. He was completely ignored.

Just as he was about to let out a heavy sigh Hinata pokes her head in the room.

"Gomen! We'll be back in a bit!" and with that she left.

Hitsugaya could only smirk at her actions.

As Hinata was changing, Hitsugaya started thinking about how much had probably changed in Hinata's life.

"She got herself involved in this situation risking her life but at the same time training hard to not be a burden." He thought as he signed papers on his desk.

His thoughts were interrupted by Matsumoto loudly opening the door. Hitsugaya looked up from his papers to give his lieutenant an annoyed stare but she ignored it as she signaled her hands towards the door.

"May I present to you, shinigami in training, Hyuga Hinata!" she introduced with excitement.

At that moment Hinata appeared wearing the standard shinigami uniform yet it fit her too loosely. Her petite form could not match the length of the sleeves and even when she tried to wrap the uniform as much as she could around her body it was still too big causing her to reveal some cleavage as the uniform hung loosely.

The only appropriate reaction Hitsugaya could have at that moment was annoyance and he demonstrated by yelling at his lieutenant.

"If you would have listened to me before you marched off you would have realized that your uniforms would not have fit her!" he yelled.

Matsumoto only pouted. "But she looks adorable!" she exclaimed as she grabbed Hinata's shoulders.

Out of respect Hitsugaya dared himself not to look at Hinata's exposed chest and directed his gaze towards the floor.

Hinata was not only embarrassed at the clothing but also at the attention she was receiving.

"I think I'm going to go change…" she whispered loud enough for them to hear her as well as to let them know she was uncomfortable.

Matsumoto only pouted and insisted she wore the uniform she gave her but was interrupted by Hitsugaya as he firmly ordered the lieutenant to leave Hinata as she wished.

"I will send someone to bring you an adequate uniform." He said as he looked at her straight on the eyes, not once did his gaze falter, which made Hinata smile.

"Thank you." She said as she excused herself to her chambers.

Once Hinata shut the door, Hitsugaya sighed heavily as he looked down to the papers on his desk. Matsumoto could only smile deviously.

"Captain!~ Don't you think Hinata-chan looked cute with the uniform on?" she asked teasingly.

"Matsumoto… The uniform was too big on her, making her uncomfortable." Was all he said.

"But it brought her attributes out!" she said as she lay down on the couch.

Hitsugaya ignored her comment as he looked up from his papers to glare at his lieutenant, "Don't you have paperwork to get done?" he asked sarcastically.

Matsumoto tensed at this question as she sweat dropped comically and laughed nervously while making her get away

"Matsumoto don't you dare…" the white haired male warned.

Before Matsumoto could get out the door she bumped into Hinata.

"Ah!" Matsumoto yelped in surprised while Hinata stared at her confused.

"Matsumoto-san?" Hinata called for her in concern.

"Hinata-chan! Ah! Captain wanted to talk to you alone, so I'll just take my leave now!" Matsumoto rambled as she pushed Hinata towards Hitsugaya's desk and then running off.

Hinata just stood there in confusion looking back and forth from the door Matsumoto just exited through and Hitsugaya who looked like he was trying to control his temper.

"You wanted to speak with me?" Hinata asked innocently.

Hitsugaya would have face slapped himself at Hinata's naiveté if he didn't think it was sort of adorable.

Quickly coming up with a reply, "Do you have any concerns during your stay here in the soul society?" he asked.

Hinata just stared at him for a few seconds, but Hitsugaya felt like she saw through his lie until she responded with a negative reply.

"Shall we get started with the tour then?" asked Hitsugaya as he stood up from his desk.

"Isn't Matsumoto-san going to accompany us?" Hinata asked as she looked back at the door as if expecting Matsumoto to appear.

"She will catch up with us later." He said sourly as he had a mental image of Matsumoto drinking with other shinigami.

"Alright." Agreed Hinata as she smiled.

After a moments later, Hitsugaya had showed Hinata his own barracks, barracks from 2nd and 4th division, which in the last one, Hinata spent most of her visit thanking the captain.

As they walked towards the 6th division, Hitsugaya was on high alerts in case they ran into Captains of the eleven and twelfth division. Although no one has asked in particular about Hinata's appearance, apparently blending in perfectly with the shinigami uniform and probably the fact that people thought she was blind, he preferred to be prepared than regret something later.

"I honestly think I'll get the most benefit training with division 2." Commented Hinata as she looked around.

"Well you are more hand to hand combat, but if you are to join the fight against Aizen, you'll definitely need to master kendo. "Replied Hitsugaya. "Especially after your encounter with those arrancars."

"I will get stronger so I can protect all my close friends." Hinata promised to herself out loud with determination.

"Are you saying this because of Kurosaki and Inoue-san?" he asked. He had been informed of the attack and the results of it, with Kurosaki and Inoue badly injured even Yoruichi sustained damages but who he heard had it worse was Chad with his arm almost ripped off his body, therefore he was surprised Hinata had not sustained major injuries.

He had seen her with bandages around her neck and hands, he even caught a glimpse of bandages round her chest when she wore the oversized uniform.

"Not only them, I want to protect everybody, Rukia-san, Matsumoto-san, you." She said turning to look at him when she mentioned him. "Everybody I've met so far have become close people to me, even if I don't know all of them so well."

Hitsugaya was still in the state of shock when she said she wanted to protect him as well. He had never thought that anybody would want to protect him, all he had ever thought was of protecting Hinamori, even now after she betrayed him, and the soul society but to hear someone say they want to protect you is a different thing and honestly, he didn't know how to react.

As they kept walking in a comfortable silence, Hitsugaya finally had a response to what Hinata had said moments before.

He stopped walking and started talking, "I, I want you to become stronger so you can achieve your goals." he said, stopping Hinata on her tracks turning to look at him. "I also want to protect you…" he said, staring at her.

Hinata stared at him as she processed the words slowly and when realization hit her she smiled brightly with a blush adorning her cheeks. "Let's make it a promise then." She responded at walked towards him.

She grabbed his left hand and hooked her pinky from her right hand with his. "Let's promise to protect each other." She smiled softly but her eyes held a determination that Hitsugaya couldn't help but admire.

He nodded his head in response. "Hn."

Hinata couldn't help but giggle in excitement. "Shall we continue?" she asked as she walked off in the direction they had been heading to, unhooking their fingers.

Hitsugaya nodded and walked to catch up with her, before he reached her he stared at his pinky that a few seconds ago had been hooked with Hinata's and could still feel the warmth lingering, the softness of her hand as he reached for his hand to hook their pinky's together for a promise between them.

So I finally finished this chapter! Sorry for the huge delay!

I know this chapter had no real action and was more like regular day but I didn't want to rush into action without their being an explanation of what are some of the plans for Hinata.

I finally got Hinata to the soul society! I decided to do it after the battle with Ulquiorra and Yami, since Ichigo and Inoue are going to go through their own moments of seeking strength according to the manga.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed!
