Team RWBY was sitting in Grimm studies, bored as usual. Professor Port was telling stories about himself and his great triumphs. After finishing his story, he immediately started another story only this time it was about his grandfather.
God! How much more of this class is left? 15 more minutes!? That's so long! Ruby thought, she then slammed her head on the desk. Weiss gave her a "You dunce" look but Ruby didn't care and Port didn't seem to notice.
How the hell is this guy able to talk about himself for so long, I'm surprised he still has stories we haven't heard of yet. Weiss thought.
The rest of the team were simply just staring into space or playing with their pencil. Everyone else was pretty much doing the same.
"-And that's how my Grandfather helped win a major battle in the Second Grimm World War." Port said triumphantly, Ruby's head then shot up.
"Wait, there was a Second Grimm World War?" Ruby asked.
"I didn't even know that" Yang said, "Me neither" Blake said.
Weiss gave an exasperated sigh and said "Do you guys not pay attention in History class?"
The three of them shook their heads at the same time; the rest of the class also seemed to not know of the event as well.
" Well alright since no knows of the war, I'll tell you about it" Port said.
"As you all know, in the early days of humanity, humanity was under constant threat from the Grimm, The Grimm nearly exterminated humanity but then Humans discovered Dust and its abilities, were able to turn things around and eventually were able to push back the Grimm and Humanity was finally able to establish a true civilization. This war came to be known as the First Grimm World War."
Despite being told this story many times, the students were listening with great interest, even Yang was listening closely. A student's hand then went into the air.
"How come they're called the Grimm world wars? Wouldn't they be just world wars?"
"Well there was another world war but it was only between humans, they were trying to establish a single government that would fit all the people's needs, but there were many groups that disagreed with what how the government should be, the war ended with the establishment of the four Kingdoms." Port answered.
"After the wars, there was a long period of peace; however peace makes people too comfortable and lazy. The Huntsmen began to neglect their duties; they didn't think it was too important to hunt the Grimm as much. Eventually the Grimm began to grow exponentially in numbers, there was eventually too many of them and the Grimm once again threatened humanity.
The Second Grimm World War began 100 hundred years ago. The four kingdoms decided to unite as one to take on the threat of Grimm. All Huntsmen and Soldiers were called to battle. For 15 long and bloody years, Humanity and the Grimm fought. The threat of Grimm was so huge that for the only time in history, Humans and the Faunus allied together to combat the Grimm"
Blake started to listen even more closely.
"Both races put apart their differences to deal with the bigger threat of the Grimm. 15 years later after an incredibly difficult and costly war, the Grimm was once again pushed back and Humanity was no longer under threat. To thank the Faunus, they were given large amounts of land, and now there is once again peace but now we're are more careful of the Grimm so as to not have another world war start." Port ended the story.
All the students were amazed, Ruby and Yang felt that they had actually learned something in that class. The bell rang and the kids were dismissed.
Today was the day.
Today was the day that Jaune was going to ask out a certain redhead. He had had feelings for her for a long time now, and now he had worked up the nerve to ask her out.
He was incredibly nervous walking around the courtyard looking for her, eventually he found her walking. His heart started beating very hard. He caught up to her.
"Hey R-Ruby" Jaune said shakily.
"Oh hey Jaune!" Ruby smiled at him. Jaune loved that smile.
"Um um um, can I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure!" Ruby responded.
Jaune started to get very red and he felt as though his heart might pop out of his chest at any moment. It's now or never
"Would you go on a date with me?" Jaune asked fast, he then prepared himself for rejection. Ruby lost her smile, Oh here it comes… Jaune thought,
"Sure, why not?" Ruby then regained her smile. Jaune was incredibly surprised and shocked, he then started to grin ear from ear, he couldn't believe it, she said yes!
"Really!? Awesome!" Jaune then pumped his fist in the air. They then made their date plans for tomorrow.
The next day, Jaune and Ruby went to Vale to go on their date. Ruby had told her teammates. Weiss found it hard to believe that a girl would have interest in Jaune. Blake was mostly indifferent, Yang however, relentlessly teased Ruby the entire day. Jaune had told Ren and Nora, who both were very surprised that a girl actually said yes to Jaune, wished him luck on his date. Jaune hadn't had the chance to tell Pyrrha and everyone else, minus Ruby, knew she liked Jaune so no one had the heart to tell Pyrrha about the date.
Pyrrha had entered team RWBY's room
"Hey guys do you know where Jaune and Ruby are? I asked Ren and Nora but they didn't answer me."
They all looked at each other with looks that said "Ooh Man", they were unsure of who should break the news. They stayed silent making everything uncomfortable.
"Um guys?" Pyrrha was starting to get a little concerned.
"Uh Pyrrha" Weiss said, "Jaune and Ruby are in Vale…on a date" Weiss said, not sure of what Pyrrha's reaction would be.
Pyrrha froze, shock very visible on her face. She stayed frozen for several minutes.
Yang turned to Blake and said, "Should we…should we like say something, push her out of the room, or what?" Blake gave her an incredulous look.
Pyrrha started to stutter
"T-they're on a d-d-date?" Pyrrha didn't want to believe it but she had no choice.
"Um look Pyrrha we're sorry-" Blake started to say but Pyrrha cut her off, she put on a fake smile and said, "You have nothing to be sorry about, its fine", Yang, Blake, and Weiss had disbelieving looks on their faces but didn't say anything else.
"I've got to go." Pyrrha said. She then walked out the room. Instead of going back to her room, she stayed standing in the hallway.
She was completely heartbroken, she wasted many opportunities that she had to tell Jaune how she felt, it was too late now. But Pyrrha started to feel something else, she felt anger, she was enraged at Ruby, she took Jaune away from her, it was her fault, she would pay for this.
The next day was Friday, team RWBY and JNPR as well other teams had Combat practice and today they were going to spar with each other.
That day at breakfast and lunch Jaune and Ruby were acting more sweet to each other, Pyrrha was being driven insane by that, and she was getting angrier, she kept staring at them the whole. When Ruby attempted to converse with Pyrrha, she would be cold to her, with Jaune she would act more sweetly to him.
It was time for combat practice. Professor Goodwitch instructed them to pair up and to fight each other. Yang paired with Blake, Ren with Nora, and Jaune with Weiss, Pyrrha paired up with Ruby, she was going to beat her and prove to Jaune that she is much better than Ruby.
"Okay students, you may begin your matches, now!" Goodwitch said.
As soon as she said that, Pyrrha rushed at Ruby and striked with so much force, that Ruby barley blocked the strike with Crescent Rose and staggered. Pyrrha stared at Ruby with murderous intent, but Ruby didn't notice.
Damn she's really going to give it her all, I better too! Ruby thought. Ruby then prepared herself for this intense battle.
After a while most of the matches had ended. The students that lost and were injured, were taken to the infirmary. Those that won and those that lost but weren't too hurt were given their grades. Blake had barely managed to defeat Yang, she was probably the most difficult opponent that she had faced. Nora had defeated Ren and Weiss defeated Jaune, but Jaune had given her a far more difficult battle than anticipated. On the other side of the training grounds Ruby's and Pyrrha's match continued.
Their side of the grounds was far more different then rest of the grounds. Their side looked like a complete war zone; there were holes in the ground with smoke protruding out of them. They were currently standing opposite of each other. Pyrrha was panting, she was starting to get tired while Ruby looked fine, she had an incredible amount of stamina and durability.
Pyrrha then turned her spear to rifle mode and started to take shots at Ruby. Ruby then dodged them, as she was dodging them she was getting closer to Pyrrha. As soon as she was close enough she swung Crescent Rose at Pyrrha who then blocked it with her shield. Using the gun to give her momentum, Ruby started swinging and striking with the scythe with incredible speed and intensity, but Pyrrha's shield managed to block all strikes Pyrrha then dodged at strike and hit Ruby in the face with her shield and sent her flying a few feet.
Ruby quickly got up and quickly was within striking distance. Ruby striked but it was once again blocked. They then traded between offense and defense, Ruby started striking and Pyrrha blocked, and vice versa. Pyrrha used her magnetism abilities to lift up all the bullets that were shot and she re-shot them at Ruby, to her great surprised, Ruby managed to avoid all bullets using her agility. Pyrrha then tried to stab Ruby with the spear but she jumped back to avoid it, Pyrrha however then threw her shield at Ruby. It hit her hands and knocked Crescent Rose out of her hands and sent it flying. She then dropped to her knees.
Pyrrha knew it was over, without her weapon Ruby was nothing. She then prepared to throw her spear at Ruby. Ruby however hated losing, she wasn't ready to give up. Ruby summoned all her aura and gathered it in her hands, she had one option.
Ruby stood up and activated her semblance of speed and rushed at Pyrrha and was in front of her. Pyrrha didn't expect such a move so she didn't know how to react. Ruby then punched Pyrrha as hard as she could in the face, and sent her flying a few feet. Pyrrha didn't get up so Ruby was declared the winner.
Pyrrha soon then sat up and put her face in her hands and started to cry. Ruby ran to her and said, "Oh man, um, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you so hard" Ruby apologized.
"It's not that… Ruby you're better than me, you deserve Jaune, not me" Pyrrha admitted.
Ruby's eyes widened.
"Oh I guess no one told you, Me and Jaune decided to stay friends." Pyrrha's head then shot up.
"R-Really?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yeah, he's really cool but I don't have any feelings for him." Ruby said, she then smiled and said, "You still have a chance though." She said to encourage Pyrrha then wiped her eyes dry
"Thank you Ruby" Pyrrha smiled, all her feelings of hostility towards Ruby disappeared. She then tried to stand up but couldn't, Ruby then helped her up and walked her to the infirmary.
Later that day, while Pyrrha was in the infirmary, Jaune came to visit. Pyrrha immediately sat up.
"Hey Pyrrha, how are you feeling?" he asked concerned.
"I'm fine, a little pain, but that's it, Ruby clocked me good" she said with a smile.
"Oh I heard what happened with Ruby, I'm sorry" she said.
"Its alright, it hurt but I'll get over it eventually." Jaune said, he was pretty disappointed at last night's result but wasn't mad.
"I'll see you later" Jaune said he then turned to walk out but suddenly turned back around.
"Hey do you want to go out on a date with me?" Jaune said, Pyrrha couldn't believe her ears, was this a dream? Was she was hallucinating?
"I'd love to" Pyrrha responded. Jaune smiled and said "Awesome!" he then pumped his fist in the air. "yes I can't wait, see you when you get out!" Jaune said, he then skipped out of the room, happy as can be.
Pyrrha laid back down in her bed and soon with all her might yelled,
"YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS! FINALLYY!"
