LOL so after almost three years I finally continue this story. I plan on finishing Jungle Fury's chapters if it kills me. Enjoy!
Chapter 14: The Tiger Master.
''Alright Emma, give it your best shot" shouted Jake as the two rangers faced each other in their new Pai Zhua sparing attire. Camille watched her students eagerly from the side of the arena.
Jake advanced furiously on his opponent, but Emma was ready. For every strike Jake attempted to land Emma countered with blows of her own. She used Jake's quantity of attacks to her advantage. After about ten blocked attacks Jake's strength was starting to fade. Emma sensed this and ducked under Jake's next blow and attacked. Jake attempted to counter her attacks with blocks of his own but after blocking Emma's initial array of attacks he failed to block an unsuspecting open palm attack that landed hard in his chest. Emma followed with a swift sweep of her leg into Jake's shin which sent him falling to the ground.
"Well done student"
Camille walked from the sideline in between the two rangers. She turned towards Emma.
"Brave". Without warning Camille lashed out with her palm towards Emma. Emma reacted swiftly countering the attack with one hand and slashing an open palm towards Camille's neck that the Cameloan master grabbed. Emma's worried gaze met Camille's intense look that slowly turned into a laughing smile.
"And resilient, the spirit of the Phoenix lies with in you.''
Jake had gotten to his feet behind them. Camille walked over and studied him as he got to his feet. "Fierce" she said sternly to Jake then look over to study his bruised arm. "And strong", you have the spirit of the snake.
"Yeah well I would have been stronger against her if I had my weapons" said Jake.
"Don't forget the last battle Jake" reminded Emma, she turned to Camille. "We haven't had good luck with our weapons against the Zarkans lately. They found a way to make them useless against them"
Camille laughed. "Weapons? What weapons do you think an animal has in the wild?"
"Uh, a sword?" guessed Jake. Emma glared at him and Jake shrugged back at her.
"Two things" continued Camille "Strength and courage. Strength, to trust and control your instincts and courage to defend and protect yourself in the face of danger, these are the cornerstones of your animal spirts"
"So" said Emma "we all have an animal spirt inside us?".
"Yes" She pulled up her sleeve to reveal a black tattoo. Emma's eyes lit up as she realized it was the Jungle Fury logo. The Order of the Claw trains students in kung fu to unlock this animal spirt. Mine is a chameleon. Here, I'll show you".
Camille stepped back and closed her eyes. She quickly struck the air with punches and strikes as Emma and Jake saw her body glow with a scaly green aura. Suddenly she stuck her final inviable punch. All the charged energy around her body burst forward and shaped the form of a green bulgy eyed chameleon .
"Whoa" exclaimed Jake
"Amazing" said Emma clapping.
Camille bowed. "Now it's your turn"
Emma and Jake stood apart from each other on the training floor.
"Look inside yourself" encouraged Camille "dig deep inside and concentrate".
Jake closed his eyes and swooped low with his attacks. His felt his movements being guided as if being pulled by some energy. He followed them mimicking them as if in some kind of entranced dance. When he fully had his eyes opened he could feel the energy around him as a black aura floated around his body. He looked over; Emma had done similar movements only hers were higher above her head as a pink aura surrounded her. The two locked eyes and stuck their final strikes as both the black and pink energies left their bodies. The energies began to take form as a black snake and a pink phoenix burst into the air, struck one another for a few moments, and vanished into the air.
"You have done it" clapped Camille eagerly. "You have tapped into your animal spirts".
"I can't wait to tell Gia" said Emma.
Then the three of them heard shouting.
"Concentrate" shouted a voice
"I am" shouted another.
The three move from their training ground into the adjacent arena where Gia was sparring with Jarrod.
"You are too angry" said Jarrod "you must learn to control your emotions".
"I am not angry" retorted Gia.
"Gia" said Emma coming to her friend. "What's going on?"
"This so called master, says I'm distracted and my anger is blocking me from tapping into my animal spirit.
"Calm yourself student" said Camille "Jarod here is one of the finest teachers at Pai Zhua. He knows what he is talking about"
"No he doesn't" Gia began to yell. "None of you know anything about…."
But as she let out her raging sentence, a yellow aura attacked from her face. The aura turned towards the two Pai Zhua Masters and just before making contact seemed to take the form of a tiger and knocked Camille and Jarrod over.
"Gia" said Jake shocked "What did you do?"
Gia was stunned. "I didn't do anything it just came of nowhere.
"How dare you attack two members of the Order of the Claw" said Camille quickly helping Jarod to his feet, hastily checking him for injuries. "You are forever ban.."
"Camille" ordered Jarod "that is enough". Camille bowed apologetically to Jarrod and took her place behind him. Jarod calmly approached the three.
"Interesting" He said studying Gia who was in between shocked and still angry at Jarod "Follow me"
"Why should I?"
"You don't like my analysis of you, fine. Maybe there is another who can make things clearer for you. Gia was confused and didn't know what to do until Jarod with his back still to her said
"Or… you can always quit"
This fired up Gia and she began to follow Jarod. He led her to a pair of steel doors in the front of the academy. He pushed the doors opened.
"Inside you will find the Tiger Master. He will decide the judgement of your further training".
Gia walked inside. The stone passageway was lit with torches. On the wall were stone carvings of different animals. Gia observed a back bat, green elephant, and turquoise shark among the carvings along the walls. As she turned the corner their appeared to be a miniature shine along with more torches. Gia looked up and noticed more stone carvings of a yellow cheetah, red tiger, and blue jaguar on the center of the shrine. She made eye contact with the tiger in the middle and suddenly the tiger's eyes began to glow and its mouth lead out a roar that shook the room causing Gia to step back.
"The Tiger knows you're in the cage" came a voice from behind her. Gia spun around. A man in red training attire was suddenly standing behind her
"Are you the Tiger Master?" asked Gia who still had her guard up
"That depends" said the man and he began to walk past her towards the shrine. "What brings you to see him?"
"My name is Gia Moran. I've been trying to unlock my animal spirit but nothing is working. Jarrod say I'm unfocused, angry and distracted.
"Jarod knows a lot about anger and distraction. For a long time his anger caused his Black Lion spirit to be consumed by evil". Gia felt sorry for Jarrod
He turned around "For you that is only part of the problem".
"I don't understand" said Gia.
"You have the Spirt of the Tiger within you Gia, however the Tiger does not always show itself willingly. It waits for the right moment to strike. That is what your spirit is doing. It is waiting for you to put aside whatever demon you have inside of you that is causing this anger to reveal itself to you.
The Tiger Master sat kneeling on the floor "come, meditate with me". Gia joined him kneeling beside him.
"Close your eyes, look deep inside yourself, and think"
Gia closed her eyes and thought.
"No..No,". she breathe painfully. "Robot Knight?"
