Chapter 14: Fall of a Knight
A/N: Welcome back to another epic chapter of Black Ranger, before we get to the main content I hope you enjoyed the last chapter and everything that happened and a big thank you for all the favourites over 100 now! It means a lot and it makes me happy to know you love it.
Just an FYI but I am now doing my college course so updates are going to be slower as at the moment I have a big assignment, but I wanted to get this chapter out for you to enjoy.

As Kirito and Diavel stood side by side, swords drawn and pointing them at Kibaou an uneasy tension flowed throughout the room, it was like Kibaou was taunting them, laughing and mocking them.
"You can't defeat me you pathetic players, I am far more powerful then you" snarled Kibaou.
Rolling his eyes Kirito gripped the hilt of his sword as he stared down at Kibaou before replying with a slide remark.
"You may be strong but you haven't earned that strength have you Kibaou?"
Frowning Kibaou and quietly stared at Kirito trying to come up with a response that would put the beater in his place, while this was happening Diavel had come to a conclusion.
"The vampire queen gave you that power didn't she?" asked Diavel rhetorically.
"Well I may as well entertain you before you die Diavel, yes my queen did give me this gift all so I could destroy you!" Spat Kibaou before licked his lips and he continued. "But I think I will make you suffer first and then I will kill you"
"You're crazy Kibaou!" shouted Kirito.
"Be quiet scum, you are not even worth licking my boots, if I could have my way you'd be dead, but alas my queen has plans" Laughed Kibaou evilly. "But enough of this I grow tired of you it's time for your beating beater"
With that Kibaou leaped at Kirito and Diavel and both players intercepted his blade and pushed him back, with both of them engaged they were more than a match for Kibaou and he knew it.
"Oh, I was right, with both of you resisting me, it will be worth my time"
With that Kibaou, began to attack again and as metal met metal Kirito and Diavel tried to force him back but once again their swords were in a lock.
Punching Diavel in the face, Diavel was stunned for a second but regained his ground only for Kibaou to proceed and head butt him forcing him to recoil and clutch his head and as he looked up he was met with a kick to the stomach and sent flying to a wall knocking him out, leaving Kirito to once again face Kibaou alone.
As the fight continued, Kirito kicked Kibaou away from him before activating Slant to push him back further, before running at him and as Kibaou went to swing his sword horizontally and as the sword approached Kirito's head Kirito knee slid under the blade and past Kibaou before turning around and unleashing Bust Stream.
As the skill collided with Kibaou, he was slashed with a five hit combo and knocked down a corridor and on to a walkway that hung over the lower floor within the tower and as Kibaou went flying Kirito's stats increased temporarily allowing him meet Kibaou own strength with his own. Running towards Kibaou who was recovering from the attack on the walkway, Kirito proceeded to jump over him before rotating his blade attempting to stab him backwards only for his attack to be intercepted by Kibaou's sword.
As Kirito's blade was pushed away, Kirito twisted his body to get away from the swipe that Kibaou had performed after he had knocked it away. Putting distance between the both of them Kirito stared down at Kibaou and smirked.
"You can't win Kibaou, we'll stop you"
"I will never stop!" Screamed Kibaou. "You took my glory! It was meant to be mine! Not yours!"
"All this over petty jealously?"
"I was meant to be the hero not you and I'll kill anyone who gets in my way!"
Both players proceeded to activate Sonic Leap and once again their swords were locked in combat trying to overpower the other. Seeing that he was losing the fight Kibaou lifted his leg and kicked Kirito and forced him over the edge of the walkway and down to the floor below and as he fell Kirito looked up and saw Diavel running across the walkway and proceeding to lock blades with Kibaou before everything slowly faded to black.
"Kirito!" Shouted Diavel as he used Slant to knock Kibaou back, before running over to the side Diavel looked over the edge and tried to look for any sign of Kirito but there was only blackness.
Hearing a laugh Diavel turned his attention back to Kibaou who was laughing manically.
"Such a shame, I was having fun with him" spoke Kibaou mockingly.
"Yeah and you've also failed didn't you need him alive?" asked Diavel with a questioning look.
"Details, details my queen will be most likely be happy to know he's been dealt with"
"I doubt that" countered Diavel, "From what I've heard she really wanted him alive, you're a dead man now"
"Well if I am to die, I will be sure to kill you first!" snarled Kibaou before leaping at Diavel to re-engage the fight.

As Kirito eyes opened he was greeted with the sound of the ocean, pushing himself up Kirito looked at his hands and was greeted with a hand full of sand. Looking down he was missing his gear. Trying to bring up a menu nothing happened, was this a bug?
Shaking his head Kirito blinked several times before looking around, his was at the ocean in the town he had stayed at three years ago
"Kazu-kun" spoke a girl's voice, the voice was familiar and it felt nostalgic turning his head to the voice he was met with a face he hadn't seen in weeks.
"Emily?" uttered Kirito and as he spoke his eyes went wide his voice sounded a little higher
The voice belonged to Emily though she looked younger and more childish and had a huge smile on her face, the smile she wore had not been seen in years.
"Kazuuu…. Come on let's get some ice" whined Emily.
"What?" Spoke Kirito.
"Don't you remember you said we'd get ice cream remember we leave for home soon"
"Right, sure lets go"
Standing up Kirito went to step forward but stopped this wasn't real he should still be in SAO not here back three years in his own past.
"Actually Emily you go ahead I'll catch up"
"Alright" smiled Emily before she ran off.
That right there was another signal that something was wrong Emily was always clingy and she would have dragged him up whether he'd like it all not.
Looking out towards the ocean, Kirito began to think and as he began to think he felt a hand slip into his own. Turning his head his eyes were met with a chestnut haired girl with a straw hat.
"You're still in SAO Kirito"
"Wait what this doesn't look like SAO"
"No you're dreaming at the moment and you are in fact unconscious on the fifth floor"
Letting go of the girls hand Kirito, began to think and nodded he had been fighting Kibaou before it all turned to blackness and he woke up here, the only question was who was this girl?
"Not to be rude or anything but who are you"
"I am Cardinal and manage the sever, usually I wouldn't talk to you but my master has seen that you have great potential as well as a threat"
"By master you mean…"
"Yes Akihiko Kayaba" confirmed Cardinal before she continued. "I am sorry for this Kirito, but I have to follow his orders and I can't release you from the game, you will need to clear the game or defeat him"
"I understand though what's with that avatar?" questioned Kirito.
"This was form was in your memory and so I chose to speak with this, though there is no name to identify who it is." Responded Cardinal. "But my time to talk to you is limited and I must be fast, for my master will pull me away if he learns I have spoken to you"
"Then what is it?"
"Unfortunately I have said too much he knows I am here but please my hero be careful
"Thank you Cardinal, I will be careful" smiled Kirito.
"Before you go, my hero you must beware of the queen and several others for they have been designed to kill you"
With that Cardinal faded away and everything around him turned to a bright white and forced him to close his eyes and as he reopened them he was greeted with the sight of the walkway he fell from within the fifth floor tower.

Getting up Kirito looked to his side and saw his sword, grabbing the hilt Kirito proceeded to stand up and looked up the sound of metal on metal was ringing out, which meant that Diavel was still fighting on, he had to hurry checking his status screen it had seemed his health had taken a dive he was at 50% health after his fall.
Opening up his menu Kirito used a potion to recover his health before looking around and seeing the staircase leading up to the next level, Kirito began to run at breakneck speed trying to reach the walk way where Diavel was currently fighting solo.
As Kirito was starting to make his way up the stairs to the level they were on, both Kibaou and Diavel were panting and out of breath their fight was getting longer and longer with no clear winner with both of them exhausted from the lengthy fight and they both knew it.
"This will only end one way Kibaou"
"Yes with your demise!" snarled Kibaou though his words were less than threating as his fatigue started to catch up. "You win Diavel go ahead arrest me"
Smirking Diavel stood up and approached Kibaou who looked defeated and beaten as well as worn out, as he got closer and closer, Diavel lowered his guard and his sword rested at his side and he soon quickly regretted it as he was greeted with a sword through his chest.
"Diavel!" screamed a voice.
As Kibaou sword withdraw from Diavel body, Diavel turned around and was met with the sight of Kirito with his sword drawn before quickly falling to the ground.
"No!"
Kibaou was shocked to see Kirito alive and well and with his HP bar full the fall damage should of killed him, it should be impossible for him to have survived, as his mind tried to process what had happened he was greeted with a slice to his legs and a kick to the face and as he recoiled, Kibaou fell off the edge of the walkway and down below to the lower level and he fell as he fell he slowly lost consciousness as a bright light over took him and teleported him away from the fifth floor.
Back on the platform Kirito was kneeling down next to Diavel, and he was holding him up, his wound was so bad that even a crystal wouldn't be able to save him he was bleeding out.
"Diavel, I'm sorry I can't do anything"
Groaning in pain Diavel, move his arm and gripped Kirito, before looking at him with regret in his eyes.
"I too was in the beta Kirito, thank you taking such a burden on" groaned Diavel as he winced in pain the wound was getting worse. "I only regret never getting you to join me, I'm sorry for being such an arse hole to you"
"Its fine, perhaps if these were better circumstances we could of worked together to clear the game but I guess this is goodbye"
"Kirito, you must clear the game…" Groaned out Diavel a bright light was slowly forming around him as the light got brighter his last words were. "For Everyone"
With that he broke into particles and Kirito silently wept as another player was taken from both this world and the real world.

Vampire Queen's lair
Back in the Vampire Queen's lair Kibaou had woken up within a cell and as he slowly got up and walked to the door he found that it was locked going to draw his sword he found that it was missing and that he was in shackles.
"Hey let me out, there has to be a mistake!" shouted Kibaou to the guard outside the door.
"Be quiet scum, our queen's not happy with your damaged her goods and for that you will be punished"
"And what goods would that be!?"
"Why my swordsman Kibaou" giggled a voice.
Kibaou whitened as he saw the queen appear in the room, she was licking her lips meaning she was about to have fun.
"Please my queen forgive me, I didn't mean to!"
"Didn't mean too" snarled the queen. "Did you not say my queen will be happy either way?"
Opening his cell, Kibaou was forced to his knees fear flowed though him, as the Vampire Queen licked her lips once more and turned to the guard.
"Leave I will handle this personally"
"Yes my queen" replied the guard, before leaving the cells
"It is time Kibaou for you to learn the price of failure and betraying my orders" Giggled the queen as she brought out a wipe.
"Please no my queen" wailed Kibaou as he tried to move. "Please spare me"
The queen giggled again and whispered into his ear seductively "try not to enjoy this"
Screams were heard in the tower as the torture of Kibaou was carried out and during that time a manic sickly giggle rang throughout the lair.

A/n: Ok it's a short chapter but I thought your guys would like something like this I promise the chapter will be longer but I can only do so much ;)
