Chapter 14: Unsupportive Uncles
Casper had decided it was about time his uncles met Thatch. So that weekend, Thatch and Casper went to the world of the fleshies.
"I'm home!" Casper called out, flying through the walls, looking for his uncles.
"CASPER! Our favorite nephew." The three uncles cried out, happy to see Casper. They all hugged Casper, their words over lapping each other as they talked.
Once the greeting was done Casper lead his uncles into the living room, making them sit down.
"Wait here." Casper said kindly, flying out and grabbed Thatch, by his cape. Thatch whined as Casper pulled him into the room with his uncles.
Once across from the uncles Casper let go of Thatch's cape, who straightened it back up.
"Guys, this is Thatch." Casper said, smiling up at his uncles. They all muttered greetings to the vampire.
"Thatch, this is my family. Uncle Stretch, Uncle Stinky, and Uncle Fatso." Casper said, giving Thatch a slight glare when he saw he was about to laugh at their names. Thatch straightened himself up and smiled...as kindly as he can to 3 ghosts with odd names.
"Now um...guys...e-erm..." Casper stuttered softly.
"Casper and I are dating." Thatch put simply, placing an arm around Casper's hips.
To Casper's surprise, the 3 uncles looked... less than pleased.
"What?" The uncles said, all frowning.
"We're dating." Casper rubbed the back of his head shyly.
Suddenly and surprisingly unexpectably, the three uncles started to laugh. Casper and Thatch looked at them with confused faces.
"What's so funny?" Casper asked.
"Oh, that's the best joke ever!" Stinky wiped away a tear.
"Just imagine if they weren't kidding." Fatso added.
Casper and Thatch looked hurt as these comments from Casper's uncles felt like insults. The uncles noticed their sad, hurt looking faces.
"Oh, you're not kidding, are you?" Stretch asked, slightly afraid of the answer.
The boys shook their heads. And to prove that they were serious, they kissed each other in front of Casper's uncles.
Big mistake.
Uncle Fatso grabbed Thatch and threw him out an open window then slammed it behind him.
"No way, no how, you're going to be with a vampire, let alone a boy vampire!" Fatso yelled at Casper.
Uncle Stinky fazed through his chair and disappeared from sight while no one was looking. Uncle Stretch grabbed Casper and dragged him to his room.
"Casper, relationships between different races don't work. He's a VAMPIRE, we're GHOSTS. Besides you're both MALE. He's probably stupid too." Streatch said, arms crossed when he let Casper go.
Casper was sad, they didn't approve of Thatch? Even when he did nothing wrong? The race doesn't matter nor does the sex. Casper's sadness started to bubble deep inside of Casper, turning into rage.
"What's wrong with Thatch! You don't even know him! Just because he's a vampire doesn't mean anything, and so what if he's a male? I thought you guys would be better than this." Casper yelled at his Uncle Stretch and Fatso.
"Well, I don't mind Thatch." Uncle Stinky flew into the room with Thatch following.
He had a few scratches, but other than that he was fine. Thatch ran up to Casper and hugged him tightly, acting as if he was to let go of his ghost-boy, Casper would float away from him. Suddenly with no warning, Thatch began to cry. His acid tears going through Casper's shoulder and burning the floor beneath them.
Casper shot his Uncle Stretch and Fatso a death glare, actually scaring his uncles.
"Now look what you've done." Casper growled. "You made him cry."
"Casper, why don't you and Thatch head over to Jimmy's house?" Stinky suggested. "While you're gone, I'll tell your two other uncles about accepting your relationship."
"Thanks Uncle Stinky." Casper thanked him. "Come on Thatch, let's go tell Jimmy the good news."
"Are you sure he won't be unsupportive too?" Thatch asked worriedly.
"He has to be supportive. He's my best friend." Casper said comforting
