So basically I know I said I was going to post whatever I wrote everyday but for like two weeks now I've been really, really ill and I threw up blood the other day and I went to my doctor and they were like leave it a week or so and if you're still not better come back then and I'm like I've been sick for two weeks and I just started throwing up blood! Would you like me to drop dead before you do something about it?! But my dad thinks its something to do with my appendix (which I had removed not so long ago) but idek. So I wrote today when I felt up to it and this is what I ended up with...so I hope you enjoy it :)
The week went by slowly for Ziva, who sat at her desk all week doing paper work, or back ground checks or often going down to Abby to help her or see what she was doing. Her stomach couldn't handle going down to autopsy….or her stomach couldn't handle it now. For Tony the week went quickly, sat by the pool, with his friend, thinking about his granddad, about what choice Ziva was going to make and trying to hook his friend who had put him up for the week up with some LA girl.
The day they left Tony was successful in pairing him up with someone they'd had their eye on at the pool the whole week. "Hey…bud…that girl…" Tony's friend Tyler nodded to the girl.
"You finally gonna make a move on her? You've had your eye on her all week…I've seen it…and she's interested too…she's been taking sneak peeks at us when she thought we've not been looking"
"Yeah? You think she likes me?"
"There's only one way to find out…" Tony sat up and grinned at him "Go get her"
Tyler went to pick up his shirt to put it on but Tony stopped him "Noo….you think they'll be attracted to you when you put your shirt on to cover up?"
Tyler shrugged "I have my appendix scar…"
"I have my bullet wound scar….but I wouldn't cover it up"
"But a gunshot is something cool…something that makes you look like a hero or something…an appendix…whoopee do"
"Dude…just do it"
Tyler nodded "Come with me?"
Tony rolled his eyes "Fine" he grabbed his shirt and went to pull it over his head but Tyler stopped him.
"If I go over shirtless so do you, DiNozzo"
"I've already got a girlfriend….I'm not the one trying to get hooked up"
Tyler shrugged "I don't care…"
Tony rolled his eyes again. "Fine"
They stood up and walked over to the girl who was with her friends at the poolside bar. She turned to look at them as they sat down. Tyler looked at her and smiled "Can I buy a drink?" he offered.
"That would be cool…" She said smiling past him at Tony. He nodded and ordered them drinks. When they came she stood and walked round to Tony. "So…what gave you this?" she asked placing her finger on his shoulder just below his collar bone where the scar from where he got shot a while back on a case.
"Uh…I was shot" Tony said moving back from her.
"Ouch…how?"
"Well the other person had a gun…with a firing pin…and I apparently got in the way of the flying bullet" He grinned moving back a little bit.
"Wow….why did you get in the way of it?"
"Well…it was gonna hit my girlfriend if I didn't"
"Oh…you have a girlfriend?" She asked sounding disappointed.
"Yeah…but my friend doesn't" He pointed at Tyler who grinned and waved. She smiled back and him and moved between Tony and Tyler. Tony grinned "Okay…I'm gonna leave you two to it…and go pack…"
They both nodded and let him get on with it. "Finally" He went and packed and once he was done he went back to the pool and over to his friend and the girl. "I hate to break up the party but Tyler I need a lift to the airport…"
Tyler nodded "Cool…I'll just go get my keys" He turned back to his new 'friend' "I'll be back once I've dropped him off" She nodded.
Tony waved at her "Was nice to meet you…I expect and invitation to the wedding" They all laughed and they headed out.
Tony's flight was smooth and he landed on time. He texted Ziva letting her know he landed. He went to baggage collection and pulled his off as it came round. He figured Ziva was still on her way so he went to the waiting area for her. He was surprised when he saw her stood there waiting already. She wasn't looking his way so he snuck up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Hello, beautiful" he said quietly in her ear.
She grinned "Hi…how was your week away?"
"Oh ya know….it was good….would have been better with you…"
She shook her head "Feeling better about everything?"
Tony nodded "Mostly, yeah….just gotta get the funeral done now"
Ziva nodded "It'll be fine…."
He nodded "What about you? How was your week?"
"Boring…slow…dull"
"Miss me?" He avoided asking her about the baby not wanting to push her into telling him but he would ask her but in a minute.
"Stupid question."
"Oh really? Why's that, Miss David?"
"Because you already know the answer"
"I do?"
She raised a single eyebrow at him. "You are telling me you don't know the answer?"
"Did you miss me?"
She rolled her eyes "Yes."
"Good because I missed you"
"Now….that's a lie"
"How dare you…" He grinned and kissed her temple "Seriously…I did miss you"
"I know"
"How?"
"Well…you came up to me and hugged me straight away and haven't let go since…" she paused "…and I'm slightly struggling to breathe"
Tony loosened his grip on her "Sorry!" He looked at her and then out the window.
"Want to go home now?" She asked.
He nodded and took her hand with his free one that wasn't carrying his bag. "So…did you think about…your choices?"
She nodded "I had plenty of time too." He looked at her waiting for her to tell him herself. She waited a bit before she spoke again. "I've decided I don't want…" she paused but Tony butted in before she could continue.
"Hey….like I said I will be here for you and…"
She cut him off "You didn't let me finish."
He looked at her "Oh…sorry…carry on…"
"I've decided I don't want to do this alone…."
Tony raised his eyebrows "You're going to keep it?"
She nodded "But only if you'll be there with me…throughout it all"
He nodded "There is no way I wouldn't be…as I keep saying, I'm going to be there for you whatever you chose to do…." He smiled at her and squeezed her hand.
"You're okay with this…?" She asked unsure.
He stopped and looked at her "Yes! Of course I am…! I love you and I love our…baby…and I'm actually quite glad you decided to keep it…"
She smiled at him and wrapped her harm around his waist. "Good…I love you too. I just hope we'll be good at this…because I don't want this baby to have the same kind of childhood I did..."
"Ziva…no one can teach us how to do it and we'll make mistakes but we'll get through it and we'll be good at it so long as we're doing it together. So long as it's me and you, we'll get through everything"
Ziva looked at him and he wrapped his arm around her. She winced and moved away. "What's wrong?"
"I still have burns on my back Tony…remember the doctor said four to five weeks before it heals." She explained.
He nodded "I forgot…sorry"
She shrugged "Its fine. I had worse this week."
He looked at her worriedly "What happened? You didn't go out into the field did you?"
She raised an eyebrow at him as she got in the car "Do you think I'm stupid? I know what not to do and I also know Gibbs wouldn't let me out even if I wanted to."
"Okay…so what was worse than your burns?"
"I'm pregnant Tony. What usually happens when you're pregnant?"
He buckled his seat belt and looked at her as she started the car and pulled away "Uh…well, firstly I've never been pregnant and secondly I've never known someone who's pregnant properly before…especially not with my baby so…I have no idea"
"Did they not teach you this at school?"
"Yeah probably but who said I listened in school? I never thought I'd need that stuff."
"Well, you should have done. Pregnant people get cravings and morning sickness"
"Ahh…so that's been bad then?"
She nodded "Yes. I've been late into work a few times because of it"
"I'm sorry" he said and took her hand.
"For what?"
"Well, for getting you pregnant and then for not being there"
"Okay. Firstly I'd like to point out that I'd rather you got me pregnant than anyone else and secondly you were away and you needed that break" He raised an eyebrow at her "What? Did I say something wrong?"
He shook huis head "No…I'm just surprised about the first thing you said."
She shrugged "What? It's true.
"Well, I'm not too disappointed by that, because I'd rather I got you pregnant than anyone else"
"Ziva raised her eyebrows at the road ahead. "Wait…you're not too disappointed?"
He shrugged "Well I'm not…I'm actually extremely happy about that. What I mean is that you never spoke about having kids or anything like that with anyone you dated before"
Ziva rolled her eyes "Well that's because I never spoke about it with them. I never really wanted to have kids with them anyway. I always knew I wanted kids but I never thought about having them and never thought I would."
Tony looked at her with the new found information "But…now…?"
"Well I know we never spoke about it but we were together, what five minutes? But now I'm pregnant it's all a bit different and what I never thought would happen is actually happening."
"We didn't plan it but if this baby hadn't happened I would have defiantly liked to talk about it and plan it further down the line"
"Really? What if it didn't work out for us?"
"I'm sure it would and will"
"But if it didn't?"
"It would have been awkward for a bit but then I'm sure things would have gone back to normal…and we would have come out stronger….that's usually what happens, right?" She nodded. He moved on after picking up something she said. "So…you were saying what if it didn't work out…"
"Yes? Your point?"
"Well you're saying it like it'll never end"
"What? Are you planning it's going to end?"
"No! I'm kinda hoping you were going to say that is exactly what you meant…that it would never end, because that's exactly what I'm hoping for."
She smiled at him "Good."
He smiled back at her paused then said "I've always wondered what it's like for the woman when she's pregnant…because obviously I've never been pregnant and I've never been with anyone pregnant but I've seen documentary's and stuff."
She laughed at him "You watched documentaries"
"Yeah…you know…in case I ever…needed it?" He said it awkwardly while she laughed at him.
"Oh yes. I understand. I did too"
"You watched documentaries about stuff about being pregnant?"
"No, not really, I watched things like One Born Every Minute and things like that…"
"I saw one born every minute once…I switched it off straight away…it was, firstly disturbing, secondly seemingly very painful for the woman and you know…."
"Well firstly you would think it's disturbing…you're you….secondly it is painful! What can you expect?"
"True…but doesn't watching that sort of stuff put you off? I mean, you see how much pain they're in, you know it's going to be painful."
"Yes it puts you off but when you think about it at the end, it'll be worth it."
He nodded "I don't think you have any idea how happy I am I'm not a woman. I could never do that"
"I'm sure that's not the only reason you're happy you're not a woman"
He thought then nodded "You're right…if I wasn't a man then I wouldn't have been able to tell you how much I love you- because I probably wouldn't love you, in that way. In fact I don't think we would have even met and I'd rather not go into detail about that"
Ziva laughed "You're such a cad"
"Maybe…but I'm your cad"
Ziva raised an eyebrow "Yeah….you always will be"
Tony grinned. They rode the rest of the journey in silence and when they got back to Tony's he said "Valentine's day is coming up"
Ziva nodded "I know"
"You know those chocolates you didn't eat a few years back that someone got you?"
"Yes….and you said the person must not matter?"
"Yeah…they were from me"
Ziva looked at him shocked "Oh…really? I feel bad now…"
He smirked evilly at her "You should….it really hurt my feelings…I was so upset when I found out you hadn't eaten them…" He laid it on thick, feigning hurt at her not eating the chocolate.
"Oh shut up. Maybe I was saving them for something special?" She joked right back.
They kept up with the niggling at each other while Tony unpacked then he looked at the clock "I didn't realise it was this late"
Her gaze also drifted to the clock. "Neither did I"
"You not feeling tired?"
"I am but that makes no difference to most of the time"
"You're not usually tired?"
"Tony…pregnancy does that to you"
"Yeah…I knew that….I was…"
"What testing me? Making sure I knew what was happening to my body?"
He nodded "Yeah…something like that"
"Mmm hmm"
He grinned at her and kissed her cheek wrapping his arms around her middle, careful to watch her burnt back. "I think…you need to go to bed….you look exhausted."
"Oh thanks Tony…"
"You know I didn't mean it like that"
Ziva rolled her eyes "And you know I'm kidding"
He nodded "Of course. I think I need to crash as well. I'm dead…time difference sucks."
She laughed "You should get used to it"
He smiled and kissed her other cheek. "Yeah but I can't….I'm going to get a glass of water…I'll be through in a minute"
She nodded and unwound his arms from her and walked to the bedroom. He went to the kitchen and poured a glass of water and started drinking it when he heard a soft "Tony" from the bedroom. He went in to see what Ziva needed and was greeted by the sight of her in her sleeping pants and a bra facing the mirror.
"Hello there" He grinned.
She turned to face him "Do you see it?" She asked.
"Uh…not sure what I'm looking for?"
She pointed to her stomach and his eyes drifted down. "That"
"Is that a bump?" He asked walking closer to her.
She nodded "Yes. It's a bump."
He grinned at her and walked round behind her and wrapped his arms around her front and placed his hands on her abdomen and rested his chin on her shoulder. She put her hands over his and grinned and whispered in her ear "It's our bump"
