'sup guys & gals! It's been so long. I'm so sorry, I've been feeling bad about not updating, but I've been busy, you know. So, I've been trying to make this chapter longer but now I don't know where it's going... AGAIN! LOL, ikr I'm always like that.
Anyway, I apologies for not updating in ages and here is the next chapter. I hope you enjoy.
Also, I'm up to date with Fairy Tail manga & anime so in future chapters I might include spoilers if you aren't up to date, I'm sorry about that.
WARNING: this chapter is actually really confusing -_- (well, I tried, okay)
so here it is... I don't own Fairy Tail, only my OC's and this plot thanks for your understanding :D
CHAPTER 14: -Your World, My World, Our World
Gray POV
"I stood there awestruck. Something big is going to happen when Lucy returns…"
I couldn't believe it and I couldn't get that thought out of my head. Those last two words, 'Lucy returns' was already a major contributor to that overwhelming news but when I replay that whole sentence 'Something big is going to happen when Lucy returns…' I just couldn't even. What it 'something big' what is 'going to happen' why can't Lucy come back.
I crept under my blankets and tried to drift off to sleep, however, the memories flooded me and I realised that I was staring at the ceiling and remembering all the fun times I had with Lucy. When we had to solve the mystery of her past, when I kept bumping into her, the expression she made when I gave her, her Christmas present the New Year's celebration that began our engagement and our big wedding day that went smoothly and her happiness that has been evident ever since I've known her. I just wish she told me what was going on, if I had known, I would've been spared from all the pain, all my sorrow. The fact that Lucy used to avoid me to keep me safe, the fact that Lucy didn't tell me about her flashbacks until way after, the fact that I was kept in the dark when she knew something evil and sinister was approaching, even the fact that she was alive. She hid everything from me, she's been doing it for a long time and I don't even know what else she knows. How does she know some of these things? Why won't she share it with me? I'm her husband! Why can't she at least understand how I feel towards this!
A tear slowly dropped from my eye and onto my pillow. I was upset and currently, very mad that Lucy didn't trust me enough, although she doesn't realise it, she should know, that I know that she's keeping secrets from me. Oh, Luce, I want you to know that there's nothing to be afraid of, I'm here, I'll always be here, and I'll never leave you, no matter what! Just… Just please come home, Luce, just be by my side and I promise nothing will ever happen to you, nothing bad will ever happen to you or me and that's a promise I can keep.
All this thinking exhausted my brain and I soon fell into a deep sleep, dreaming about the happiness that I had with Lucy and remembering her feelings towards me and the love she would always remind me that she had for me.
Lucy POV
What Zeref-ni said to me that day, has haunted me ever since. The possibility being unknown, scares me! I want to know! I need to know! Zeref-ni, please.
I looked out of my tent to find the flame flickering down. I left my tent and headed for the stream that we had camped close by. I looked into the water and saw a reflection. It was of a frightened girl who knew that she was soon to discover the truth about herself and there was nothing she could do about it. I got up and began to walk away, when my keys flashed a brilliant golden colour. I looked at them with a strange expression, before taking them out. The keys flashed again, but this time it was brighter and I shielded my eyes from the blinding brightness.
The next thing I knew, I was in the Celestial Spirit World. "What do you guys want?" I said, acting a little bit out of character towards my spirits.
"Himesama. Sorry to bother you, but we called you for an important mission that only you can help us with." Virgo replied in a polite bow.
"Important mission you say?" I ask out of curiosity.
"You see, Lucy, there's this strange evil aura moving around in our world and it's slowly breaking down our world. We'd like your help to try stop it as we don't know what it is or if it's lethal or not." Loki said, filling in the information I needed to know, in order to complete this so called mission.
"E-to… Okay, sure." I replied with a smile as I twirled around in my Celestial dress.
"Lucy-sama, this way." Aries lead the way.
From when I had entered the Celestial realm I could tell something was off. There was a funny scent in the air and a powerful throbbing which was catching my attention. I slowly moved closer and closer to what felt like a very powerful mass, but I was still, however, very unsure of what was ahead or what it might do to my spirit friends.
"It's just up ahead right?" I ask, as I took in my surroundings and noted the many things that were slightly off with the whole situation.
"Yes, Lucy-sama." replied Sagittarius.
"Don't go on any further, let me do this alone." I replied.
I continued for a few more steps when I realised what this powerful magic was. I continued to search for the very middle of the source but suddenly it vanished without a trace. I looked around thoughtfully, trying to pinpoint where it had mysterious gone off to.
I tried to continue for another few steps but a magnificent force pulled me towards it and soon I was back at camp, sitting, facing Zeref-ni. "Where did you run off to?" Jellal asked, creeping out from behind Zeref.
"I didn't go anywhere." I said with a pout before looking around to see if any of my spirits came back with me.
"What are you looking for?" Zeref-ni asked as he followed my gaze.
"Nothing much…" I replied before getting up and heading back into my tent.
Was it their doing? Who was to blame for that strange, yet powerful force? No one even knows if it's threatening! I need to get to the bottom of this and if there really is something wrong, I need to find out what and stop it at its source.
I looked at Zeref-ni, with my worried eyes and he sighed. He probably knew what I wanted to do and where I was going. With a wave of the hand, I immediately understood that he was letting me go and forget about the madness here; to go and help my friends from the Celestial spirit world.
I returned to the Celestial spirit world, in hope that I could uncover more of that mysterious force. I looked around with a strained face. Was I too late? What had happened during the few hours I left for? But my main concern was where all my friends were. I began to panic a little, but then settled on the fact that they were strong as a team and nothing would be able to beat them.
I returned to searching around and looking for some clues. Suddenly, an ominous force appeared and I could sense a strong sent of darkness, lurking about. "Loki? Aries? Aquarius?" I started shouting and waiting for a response.
After a few minutes I gave up, there was no reply. They were either: missing, hiding or fighting. I continued my search, walking around aimlessly, trying to find something at least. I looked around and realised that that ominous force had travelled some feet away. Seeing it as a lead, I followed.
Gray POV
I was bored, Lucy didn't seem like she was going to be back anytime soon. Suddenly, something in my heart jolted and I fell to the ground in pain. Was this Lucy trying to communicate with me? It jolted again and I screamed in pain.
Luckily, I was in the guild and everyone gathered around me and helped me to the infirmary where I lay trying to ease my pain. The jolts became fiercer and faster and soon I had gone out cold from the increase pain and heartbreak.
In my dream, I was with Lucy, we were having a lovely time until she turned on me with bloodshot eyes and her hair turned a horrifying dark black that looked like it had a mind of its own and began strangling me. I quickly opened my eyes and screamed in horror. Before looking around and seeing desperate and caring eyes landing on me.
Mira quickly offered me a drink of water and I calmly took it, gulping down every last bit before lying down and burying my head in my hands. I didn't want my nakama to see me cry, but I just couldn't bear the pain of living a life without Lucy, a life where I knew that I didn't know who was the right person to trust anymore.
Lucy POV
I could feel Gray's pain. It was seething beneath my skin and I couldn't help but shed a tear. I didn't want to get into this mess and hurt him, but it's not like I had a choice. I'm so, so, so, so, sorry Gray. But knowing that I might not ever be forgiven hurts my heart even more. I shoved my hand in my pocket and took out my wedding ring. I didn't have the guts to throw it out. Gray was and still is my world to me. I promise, once I get to the bottom of all this, I will return to his side and be his wife once more. I thought about that, and realised when I could ever keep it.
I continued walking following the ominous force, but to no avail, it lead me nowhere and now I was carrying a burden. My carelessness lead to Gray's misery and my heart grew heavy and was slowly breaking away, but I couldn't stop. I had to help my celestial friends. I had to leave him, so I continued walking, clearing my mind and focusing on finding someone, anyone. I kept up my slow pace and soon I bashed into someone. "I-I'm sorry." I quickly muttered before walking away.
The mysterious person held my arm. "Please… h-help me…" he said.
