Meg: Q.Q TT-TT
Ikuto: Why is she sulking? *bored impression ะพn point*
Amu: Ikuto! She's sad! Don't make her cry even more! *goes to comfort a sulking Meg*
Ikuto: Okay, okay Amu-koi... *is surprised that Amu scolds him*
Amu: I'm not your Amu-koi! And please be more gentle if you don't mind!
Ikuto: ... What happened to her?
Meg: *sniff* I don't know... I feel that ... That no one likes this story... I mean.. I love it and I want to continue writing it but... Not many people like it...
Amu and Ikuto: ... So... You think that barely no one likes this?
Meg: *sniffs* *nods*
Amu and Ikuto: -_-
Meg: Why are you looking at me l-like that?...
Amu: For the first time I'll say this and it's not directed at me: You are stupid!
Meg: -.- Why am I the stupid one?...
Ikuto: Look... It's a big idea and it has a plot for a big story... You just don't have the time to update that's all...
Meg: o.o Oh...
Amu and Ikuto face palmed so hard that day...
Normal POV
Ikuto really didn't have a clue on what to do...Her small frame was shaking so violently that for a moment he was scared that she might actually fall off the roof if she continued.
How could he comfort her without saying something that would make her cry even more? It looked like such a hard thing to do, nothing effective formed in his mind.
He worked for Easter...It was what he did best.
On the other hand Amu was beginning to regret opening her eyes in the morning. She was starting to remember every little thing that would make her mood ever worse.
The company that kept him captive killed her hero and father...Was it really that little to forget? It was a huge bite to swallow. Amu was sure that she wouldn't cry for the last time in the next few months. What kept her from falling apart however, was the small thought at the back of her head that popped u from time to time, making her feel less saddened.
She had the best crew she could get and the greatest friends she could find.
The boy beside her was starting to feel unwanted yet he kept standing there, tying to find the right words to say. If standing was making her feel even smaller then it was best for him to sit next to her. Maybe words weren't the best of options right now. He decided to let the night do its magic on her and soon the uncontrollable tears were turned into muffled sniffs and a tear-stained face. She rubbed her eyes with her sleeve, wetting it but she could see more clearly now. The breeze froze her skin, where the salty water was just few seconds ago but the pinkette found it refreshing after the tightness she was feeling made it hard for her to breathe.
Her head was wobbling around, her eyes scanning the area that was in front of them. She glanced at him from under her bangs a few times. Ikutowas staring right ahead, seemingly refusing to acknowledge the fact that she cried and was secretly staring at him. It didn't mean that he didn't see it though.
Amu unconsciously laid her head on his shoulder and Ikuto felt something warm on his right side. Since he was stubbornly looking ahead, he didn't see how she let herself be comforted by his presence. Something soft was touching his neck. It took the breath right out of his lungs for a moment when he saw what happened just a few centimeters from him.
The breeze made her pink locks flow and brush against his neck.
Ikuto smelt... strawberries. Such a faint essence but distinct none the less.
The same intoxicating smell his nose caught when the blue haired man was saved from his burning car.
He just didn't know what to say... His azure blue eyes went down to her trembling frame as her tears landed without a sound on the roof.
"Why is it that in the most important moments I freeze and don't know what to say or what to do...
She... she looks so lonely...God dammit Ikuto. Say something you oaf. Wait, that doesn't help, I swear to god, if I mess this up I'll personally throw myself out the window.
So sad...
So... bruised."
The only thing he could think of was to gently and slowly wrap his arm around Amu and hug her, in result she quickly soaked the fabric of his shirt. Ikuto didn't care. He didn't care that the breeze sent him chills down his spine every time it came in contact with his shirt. He didn't care that his image of a playboy was slipping away fast as he comforted the pinkette. She in turn let herself be wrapped securely in his arms. She had stopped crying unconrolably but that didn't mean that tears weren't sliding down her cheeks without her knowing. The night was the only one who could witness all the things both young people felt at the same time.
Amu was letting all her nerves slipping away and let the calmness wash over her. It smoothed her, how the mixed feelings she had were so easily swept away when those particular arms circled around her.
For the first time he could show his true self to some one.
Some one that is in just as much pain as he was.
Some one who could understand how people change and how the heart is slowly withering away, giving into the darkness of the human greed and selfishness.
All that was in his mind was that he couldn't stand to see her in pain.
He was once there.
Ikuto wouldn't let her go there too.
Even after the storm was over, Amu felt as if her heart was slowly ripping, those little threads connecting the walls of her heart were starting to tear apart.
Not that it had a point to her right now because she couldn't even understand what she felt right now. A mix between a sadness, unknown to anyone and a wave of calmness, whispering to her to come to the safe side, where no pain existed.
She was surprised that every time she remembered this exact same story it hurt her so much. It made her choke alittle while breathing and a few quiet sobs escaped from her throat.
Ikuto stayed beside her through it all. Until he was sure she could inhale normally again.
The pinkette's sobs quieted down a little after some time as she heard his steady heartbeat against her cheek. It somehow made her sure that he wasn't going to just get up and leave her after she loosened her grip on him.
In the quiet night... A husky yet soft voice was heard.
"... Tried to take a picture
Of love
Didn't think I'd miss her
That much
I want to fill this new frame
But its empty..."
"Is he... is he singing?..." Amu's honey gold orbs looked up to her car mate's face. His mesmerizing blue eyes were soft as he was smiling the same way to her. Looking down at her, he was sure he made the right choice to sing a song he cherished.
Amu's breath hitched by how he was staring at her. Was it really happening? Was he actually trying his hardest to help her? It wasn't just that to her, however, as she began to absorb every emotion he wanted to express.
It was like he wanted to share her pain.
To make her feel better.
She decided to let him do just that.
Ikuto smiled a little t her as he continued his song. (A/n Play for getter effect. The song is called Empty by The click Five. Do I have to go the "I don't own part" because it obvious that I don't own it :D )
"... Tried to write a letter
In ink
Its been getting better
I think
I got a piece of paper
But its empty
Its empty
Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're empty ... "
Amu had never heard such soothing sound. Ir wasn't like her, filled with serious emotions, filled with the deep passion she held within herself. His was as if years had passed and nostalgia had decided to visit him in his mind. He made it sound a bit bitter yet over what he was singing about. It made Amu try even harder when she realized that she couldn't exactly pinpoint how he could do it.
His voice was simply beautiful.
Her glistering with tears golden eyes watched him intently as the man beside her kept singing. She was like in a trance, paying close attention to every sound, as he kept on.
Ikuto on the other hand felt as if with every thing coming out of his mouth he was lifting a heavy weight off his chest.
"...And I've even wondered
If we
Should be getting under
These sheets
We could lie in this bed
But its empty
Its empty
Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're empty
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oooooh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're empty
We're empty
We're empty..."
The song came to a quiet end as his voice faded and lowered to a soft hum.
Amu let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding as the song ended. All the way.. Throughout the lyrics... While listening intently, Amu felt that he was also aching inside.
That she wasn't the only one holding onto the gutter for dear life.
Ikuto was with closed eyes the whole time.
He hadn't realized that the was a single tear on his cheek, up until the moment the same refreshing breeze hit him.
He felt a soft touch on the exact same place just as he was about to quickly wipe it away.
Amu was only wiping away his tear. Yet the touch ment to him so much more. He felt as if she wanted to erase his sadness too with her gentle actions. Another thought of returning the favor also crept its way to his mind but he chose to ignore it as he focused on the soft skin of her hand.
"That was... beautiful." He heard her faint whisper as they stayed in the same position: Amu in his arms, him being the one who held a tight grip as if he was afraid to let her go. Loosening it a bit, he let her turn towards him and they stared into each other's eyes for a moment before speaking again.
"... Thank you." No smirks, to sarcastic retorts, no nothing. Just a sincere thank you and he truly meant it.
They spent a few more minutes when both of them felt the need to say something.
"I.." They both said a the same time but laughed a little after that.
"You go first."
"Okay... Listen... I'm sorry."
"... What?..."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I acted like a jerk at first and I was acting like that the whole way up until now. I don't know about your past or your story, I know that. I speak without a second thought. I kept an opinion of you in my head that was so stupid I didn't realize how much until I saw you here crying your eyes out. " Amu pouted at that part. She hated when other people besides her closest people saw her cry but it couldn't be helped. The Blue Knight found her when she was most vulnerable and Amu didn't want to think of him taking advantage of her.
Ikuto's first thought was that she was cute. Yes, he did think about it at times like this. To him, emotional moment didn't need words but the aftereffects would be harmful if they didn't take it slow after what just happened.
"I ... I didn't know how to act around you you know... You are the first girl that didn't fall on my feet and kiss the ground where I walk... I thought you were different. I thought you didn't care about anything and that you are just a tough shell to crack. I thought that after knowing your secrets I would know you perfectly and I would use that as something against you. But I was despicably wrong. You are nothing like that. Actually to think about it... You are just... Unique"
Ikuto's speech wasn't something memorable but it was enough to linger for a long time in Amu's heart.
The emotions that she felt just a little ago were slowly but surely fading away...
The pinkette didn't remember the last time when it passed faster as she was now feeling less empty than the other times after she cried.
Ikuto just... worked that way on her.
There wasn't a time that she wasn't enchanted by his azure eyes and the sudden yet serene moments he chose to act like himself around her and nobody else.
She just admired the way he could act so free and careless.
Both felt a wave of relaxation hit them...
"Yeah... Well... Maybe I was a little wrong about you too.." Amu wasn't going to say anything else. She had embarrassed herself too much in front of him.
Besides...
She may have found some affection for him. That's the closest he was going to get at this time.
Ikuto had sensed that and he knew that she wasn't going to say anything else in the near future.
So they decided to stay in silence for some time.
It was time to move on and try to make things better.
Ikuto would show her some stars that formed figures and Amu would laugh at how he would make them look.
The big bear, for example, looked like a frying pan and he made a a whole story how the pan went up there.
Suddenly something came up in Ikuto's mind. It wade him smirk even wider than usual.
That made Amu think he was a creep. He was staring at her with that pervy look she knew meant trouble for her ever since they first met. Even after all this time it made her want to trip Ikuto.
"Hey... Devil... Since you didn't finish your song.. And I sung one already and you said it was great... Doesn't that mean that I win?"
A pair of honey colored orbs widened in horror as his smirk kept getting bigger and bigger.
"IKUTOOOOOO!"
Meg: Ah... How I like to write little cliffhangers! ^-^
Ikuto: And how you like to write short chapters...
Amu: * nods*
Meg: ... Shut up... -.-
Amu: Anyway... What's the song that you made Ikuto sing?
Meg: Oh... It's Empty by The-
Ikuto: We know already... You said it earlier remember?
Meg: Well then why are you asking me? -_-
Amu: We meant what song is it and why?
Meg: It's a slow song I found while browsing by You tube... Ah... Such wonder could be found.. The song is really good and I cried the first time I heard it actually so...
Ikuto: You cried...
Meg: Yep. ^-^ So please R&R ok?
Ikuto: Here we go again...
Amu: Shut it. * whacks Ikuto on the head and he pouts cutely*
