[Chapter 14: The Missing Bone!]

Reefside High!

It's been a week since Trent took two more Zords from the Rangers and right now they where in school walking up together just as the bell rung for class.

"Have you guys heard from Trent yet?" Conner asked.

"No, and I'm not sure that I want to," Kira answered

"We've got to make sure that he doesn't go off on some poor freshmen because wouldn't give him, his lunch money," Ethan told them making Jessica to roll her eyes.

"You know what?" Conner asked, "I think he's after a bit more then a free grilled cheese."

"And when we know what that is, maybe we deal," Kira told Conner, "but until then we keep an eye on him."

The four Rangers walked into their science class unaware that Trent had heard every word of what was said.

Science Class room!

The four Rangers sat in class, doing their own thing. Ethan and Conner where shooting paper balls into Devin's lunch box, Kira was writing down lyrics to a new song, and Jessica was drawing Egyptian and Japanese symbols in her sketchbook. Trent rolled his eyes as he sat at the same table as them.

"Hey, did you guys hear that we're suppose to get a new teacher today?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah," Conner answered, "any guess?"

"Well, I heard from a very reliable source, that's it's this 80-year-old woman who use to teach Kindergarten in Ohio," Cassidy told them.

"Really?" Conner asked looking unconvinced.

Just then the door opened and in walked Principle Randall who was looking down on them like always.

"Good morning class," Randall greeted while the kids sat down in their sets as Kira and Jessica looked up at her, "I would like you to meet your new Teacher; Dr Anton Mercer."

All four of the Rangers looked up with Trent with wide eyes as the man walked into the classroom.

"Morning class," Anton greeted them with a smile.

"Hey, he looks pretty good for 80-year-old woman," Kira told Cassidy making Devin laugh, but the blond slapped him.

"Ow, but I thought it was funny."

"Dr Mercer has graciously agreed to take over until your teacher get's back on his feet," Randall informed them while looking at Anton with a smile before looking at the class. "I would you to treat him with the same respect that you will treat Dr Oliver."

"Thank you," Anton thanked her as she walked out of the room, "well, allow me, uh, to start by say that it's an honor to be here." Kira and Jessica shared a look before looking back Anton. "What I'm handing out to you now are permission slips. These are for you parents to sign." Anton handed out to stacks to the first two tables. "We'll be going on a field trip tomorrow to the museum." Jessica and Kira took a permission slips before handing them over to Ethan and Conner. "I trust you all to be able to make it." Jessica looked at the slip in her hand before she raised her hand. "Yes, Miss Hanson?"

"Is it alright if my Older Sister sign the slip, Dr Mercer?" Jessica asked, "because my parents are out on a week long road trip for their anniversary."

"I don't mind," Anton answered with a smile before turning to the class.

After School!

"Anton Mercer teaching other peoples children?" Kira asked as the four Rangers walked from the school, "he doesn't even like his own from what I can tell."

"Yeah," Ethan agreed, "I wonder whose brilliant idea this whole thing was."

"It's got to be Randall's," Jessica stated with a groan, "did you see them together."

"It was like they where old pals," Kira finished.

"Hey, no matter how bad we've got there's always some whose got it worse," Conner told them making look over to see Trent and Anton arguing before the White Ranger stormed away.

"What are you guys doing now?" Jessica asked as she looked at them.

"Soccer."

"Band practice."

"Computer. You?"

"I promise Dr O that I'll help him inventory some stuff in the Lab," Jessica answered, "plus he probably want's to know whose teaching his class."

"Yeah, I wonder what he has to say about it," Conner stated to which Kira and Ethan agreed.

"See ya."

"See ya."

"Later." The four Rangers walked off after saying farewell to each other.

Dino Lab!

Jessica sat in the Dino Lab as she helped Tommy with the inventory while telling him about how Anton Mercer is the Sub for him.

"That's great," Tommy told her.

"Your kidding?" Jessica asked as she looked at him, "right?"

"No," Tommy answered, "I know you think that Anton is a little strange..."

"Yeah, and Justin Timberlake is a little cute," Jessica sarcastically agreed.

"Alright," Tommy relented as he looked at her, "he's a lot strange, but he's brilliant. He taught me a lot of what I know. It'll be great."

"If you so," Jessica told him with a sigh.

"He really is an amazing person," Tommy went on, "once you get to know him." Jessica picked up a bone with a tag on it while looking it over.

"Hey, where does this go?" she finally asked Tommy who looked over at her.

"Oh, you better give me that," Tommy told her as he took the bone.

"What is?" Jessica asked.

"Just a bone," Tommy answered making the Green Ranger raise an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah, but why is it so important?" Jessica asked.

"I needs to be kept safely in my hands," Tommy answered, but also avoid the question at the same time, "let's just put it away."

"Whatever you say," Jessica agreed while watching him put the bone in a briefcase.

The Next Day: Museum!

Jessica walked next to Kira as the class followed Anton to the doors of the Museum.

"Alright, come along now," Anton called to the class, "we don't want to keep our per-historic friends waiting!"

Jessica rolled her eyes while Kira just raised an eyebrow before they stopped and looked up the statue of the T-Rex.

"What's the matter?" Conner asked.

"That thing just gives me a creepy vibe," Kira answered, "it's like it moved."

"You do know that Dinosaur is extinct right?" Ethan asked before Kira gave him a look while Jessica face palmed in announce, "ok, I see your point."

Kira looked back at the T-Rex before walking away with Jessica and the two boys and into the museum.

Inside the Museum!

"And just ahead is the Triceratops from the Cretaceous period," Anton told them as they walked through the Museum, "strictly herbivores. Hunted by the Tyrannosaur Rex."

"Got to love the T-Rex," Jessica heard Conner tell Ethan while she looked around from the back with Kira.

"Whatever bro," Ethan told him making the Red Ranger laugh.

There was a growling sound making both Jessica and Kira to turn around before they saw a the out line of a Tyrannodrone running into the back.

"Kira go get Conner and Ethan," Jessica told the Yellow Ranger.

"What about you?" Kira asked.

"I'll go on ahead and see what's going on," the Green Ranger answered before taking off while Kira turned around and ran after the class to inform Conner and Ethan.

They where both unaware that Cassidy followed Jessica to see what she was doing.

"Hey!" Cassidy greeted making the other blond look at her, "where are you going?"

"Uh, to the bathroom," Jessica answered.

"Oh, great, me, too," Cassidy said with a smile, "cause my lip-gloss is like totally wearing off."

"Cassidy, just stay here, ok," Jessica told her, "your just going to get us both into trouble."

"Whatever," Cassidy stated, "I'm going to the little girl's room and you can do whatever you want." Jessica watched as Cassidy left to look for the bathroom before hiding when she Anton was walking up.

"Miss Cornell," Anton spoked up as he came up behind Cassidy, "come join us." Cassidy turned around to look at him. "Wouldn't want you to miss all the exciting artifacts."

"But, what about..."

"Come on now," Anton told her as moved her forward.

Jessica looked from around the archway to see that the cost was clear before heading to the storage room. The Green Ranger walked forth into the room once she had closed the door looking around when she was grabbed from behind by a Tyrannodrone. A fight broke out between the Green Ranger and the Tyrannodrones before the foot soldiers got the upper hand.

"Let go of me, you freaks," Jessica growled as she pulled to in front of a shelf.

"Jessica," a voice sounded making the Green Ranger to look up at a fossil that was on the shelves, "you must listen to me." When Jessica lifted her head her eyes was looked a pale blue color. "You well do as I command."

Hallway!

"Where is she?" Conner asked as he, Kira, and Ethan where looking for their Green Ranger friend.

"There she is!" Ethan yelled once he spotted her.

"Jessica!" Kira yelled as they ran over to her looking worried.

"Are you alright?" Ethan asked, "what happened?"

"Uh, yeah, I'm fine," she answered, "I just got lost."

"Lost?" Conner asked.

"Yeah, as in not found," Jessica snapped, "but, I fine. Are we leaving?"

"Yeah, leaving," Ethan asked looking surprised.

"Alright, let's go," Jessica said before she walked away leaving three very confused Rangers behind.

Hayley's Cyberspace!

Jessica sat at the counter away from the other three working on homework while her friends looked at her confused and concern.

"Hey, Jessica," Hayley greeted as she walked up, "how come your not setting with the guys and Kira?"

"What?" Jessica asked, "we have to do everything together."

"Well, no, but you usually do don't you?" Hayley answered/asked.

"Not anymore," Jessica answered in a bored tone before looking up, "Hayley look, I don't mean to be rude, but I really need to get this for Dr Mercer's class."

"I well never get use to the sound of that," Hayley said, "Dr Mercer's class."

"Hey, he's really good teacher," Jessica tried to keep herself snapping, "and we're going to learn a lot from him."

"Ok, whatever, you say, Jessica," Hayley sighed before walking away.

Once she left Kira and the guys walked up to Jessica who was still studying.

"Hey, you want to go to a movie tonight?" Conner asked.

"No," the Green Ranger answered.

"You know when someone doesn't want to hang out people, they usually come up with some sort of excuse," Conner told her.

Jessica looked up at him annoyed.

"Look, I really don't feel like spending anymore time with your guys then I have to, ok?" Jessica asked before she grabbed her things, "I have to go. I have meet up with Tori for wedding planning get together."

The three Primary Rangers watched as Jessica walked away from them even more confused then ever.

Forest Outside of Dino Lab!

Jessica ran through the forest till to stood outside one of the entrances to the Dino Lab before she brought her morpher to her lips.

"Dr O are you there?" she asked, "it's Jessica."

"Yeah," Tommy answered, "what's up Jessica?"

"I was just out picking wild blue lilies for Tori's wedding and I think I saw something by the edge of the old forest by the lake," Jessica answered, "it might be a DinoZord egg. Can you check it out for me? I've got get this lilies back to Tori."

"I'm on my way," Tommy told her.

"Great," Jessica said with a smile in her voice, "thanks."

Jessica moved to hide behind a plant so that Tommy didn't see her as he came out of the portal on his ATV. Moving quickly once he was out of sight, Jessica ran into the opening of the lab.

Dino Lab!

"Now finish the task," the fossil's voice told her inside her head. Jessica walked forth inside the Dino Lab looking right at the case that had what she was after before she walked up to her with a digger in her hand that she used the cut off the lock. Once the lock was off she opened the case and pulled out the bone. "Excellent." Holding in her hand as she looked with her eyes once more glowing a pale blue color. "Soon I will be complete and then I'll will raise again."

"Jessica it's me," Tommy's voice sounded over her morpher, "I couldn't find anything out here. Are you sure you saw something?"

"Oh, wow," Jessica breathed in a false surprise, "I guess I've must have been wrong. Thanks for checking it out Dr O."

"No problem," Tommy told her before he ended the connection.

Jessica smirked before she left to head back to the museum.

Minutes Later: Dino Lab!

"You've been thinking that Jessica's been acting kinda of strange?" Tommy asked as he and the others walked into the lab.

"We just don't know what's wrong with her," Conner stated, "I mean, I didn't say anything to make her mad."

"Are you sure?" Ethan asked, "sometimes you say things that you don't think that get people little angry that why that things get throw at you."

"Dude, I promise I didn't say anything," Conner told him with a sigh.

Kira looked at Conner raised eyebrow though she was more worried about Jessica who had become her best friend since the day they first meet.

"Just asking," Ethan informed him.

"Alright you three," Tommy said he turned around holding the case, "I think we may have a bigger problem then that." This made his three students to look at him. "This box contained the final bone to a creature that was created by Mercer and me years ago."

"What kind of creature?" Kira asked looking more worried.

"Fossilador," Tommy answered, "we were trying to create a dinosaur at one time that had the power of mind control. We scrapped it when it got out of hand."

"Great," Ethan sighed.

"As long as I had the main support bone, it could never come to life," Tommy finished explaining to them.

"And that's what was in that box?" Kira asked.

"Yeah," Tommy answered.

"So who do you think took it?" Conner asked.

"If it wasn't you three," Tommy started, "and it wasn't me or Hayley. That seriously cuts down the suspects."

"Jessica," Ethan and Kira breathed.

Museum: Storage Room!

The door to the storage room opened up allowing Jessica to walk right on in.

"I have returned as you have command," Jessica stated in a robotic voice she walked to the back of the room.

"Good girl," Fossilador praised, "did you bring it?"

Jessica reached into her green leather jacket and pulled out a bone that she put under the skull.

"Yes," she answered.

"Excellent," Fossilador breathed while Jessica in the middle of the room watching as it came to life again, "you have served your purpose."

The creature then blasted Jessica off her feet making her cry in shock and pain before she hit the ground unconscious.

Dino Lab!

Kira, Conner, Ethan, Hayley, Tommy, and Tori, who Tommy had gave a call to stood in the Dino Lab just as the alarm went off and Fossilador appeared on the screen.

"Yes, I'm free," they heard Fossilador say, "and my time has come at last."

"I'm going to take a wild stab and say that that was your fossil monster," Ethan told Tommy.

"Unfortunately it is," Tommy agreed.

"Any word from Jessica?" Tori asked.

"Nothing, but I've been trying," Hayley answered her.

"Think, you guys?" Tommy asked, "were could she have come in connect with this thing?"

"The museum," Conner answered.

"We were on a field trip with Dr Mercer," Kira went on.

"Yeah, she disappeared for a while and she came back that was when she started to act all weird," Ethan finished.

"Hayley, you go to the museum and look for Jessica," Tommy told her, "we've got to hold this thing off."

"Let me go instead Tommy," Tori spoke up, "Jessica is my Sister and therefor my responsibility."

"Very, well," Tommy sighed before the former Blue Wind Ranger left quickly.

Museum!

Tori ninja streaked to the end of the forest before she ran up to the doors of the Museum to only find them locked.

"Oh, no," she breathed before running to the emergency exist hoping that it wasn't locked.

"Miss!" a voice called making Tori to turn around to see a guard standing at the top, "the museum is closed. You'll have to come back tomorrow."

"I understand," Tori told him, "but, I think that my little Sister might be locked inside."

"That's impossible," the guard told her, "I've checked the building thorough."

"Can you just look one more time?" Tori asked looking sweet with a smile, "I'm worried about her."

"Well, I suppose I could," the guard caved in.

Tori breathed a sigh of relief as she followed the guard inside the museum.

Storage Room!

Tori opened up the storage room door to find Jessica laying on the floor out cold.

"Jessica," Tori gasped before appeared at the Green Ranger's side, "can you hear me?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, Tor," Jessica answered once she regained conscious, "what happened?" Jessica thought back to earlier that day before her eyes widen. "Oh, I sat that thing..."

"Are you ok to get up?" Tori asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Jessica answered once again as she moved to get up.

"Should I call a doctor?" the guard asked.

"Uh, no, no," Jessica answered, "I just need to go and rest is all."

Jessica and Tori quickly stood up before leaving the storage room.

Outside the Museum!

"I can't believe that I was responsible," Jessica told Tori was they walked out of the door.

"Jessica, it wasn't your fault," Tori started, "in your civilian form, you couldn't stop it from controlling your mind. Luckily the guys Ranger Powers well protect them."

"I'm going over there," Jessica told her.

"Are you sure?" Tori asked.

"Nobody messes with my mind and get's away with it," Jessica answered as she left.

Battle Field!

Conner, Kira, and Ethan were thrown around in the MegaZord when they heard what sounded like a roar.

"Hey, what was that?" Conner asked as they all looked over.

The three Primary Rangers saw the ParaZord running towards with Jessica on it's nose as bone like missiles where fired at them, but the ParaZord either dodged by jumping out of the way or cut them down with it's tail.

"Hang on guys!" she called out.

"Jessica!" Conner called out in relief.

"Dino Thunder! Power Up! HA!" Jessica yelled as she quickly morphed, "Para Power! Ha!"

"Alright!" Ethan cheered as Jessica jumped into her Zord's cockpit.

The MegaZord's left arm folded into itself and allowed the ParaZord to join with it. Once the ParaZord replaced the Tyranno Tail arm, Jessica appeared in the Cockpit of the MegaZord.

"MegaZord online!" the Rangers yelled together.

"Good timing Jessica," Ethan told sounding relieved.

"Yeah," Kira agreed with him.

"We could use the help," Conner added.

"Don't sweat it guys," Jessica told them with a smile, "now let's blast that bone head."

The Rangers all turned back to the battle at hand.

"Fire Lasers!" Kira commanded only it did nothing, "Ptera Ring!"

Just like the lasers, the Ptera Ring did nothing at all, but just cut off a hand that the monster just regrew

"No way!" Conner yelled in surprise.

"Nice try," Fossilador told them before he attacked them with his breath.

The Rangers all stumbled around the cockpit, but remained standing.

"That was just plain nasty."

"Guy's got some per-historic breath," Ethan agreed.

"I'm just getting started," Fossilador stated as he charged towards them.

The MegaZord started to spark when Fossilador clinged to them.

"Hang on guys!" they heard Tommy yelled up to them as the MegaZord continued to sparked, "Jessica, aim for the spot where you put the missing bone! It's his most vulnerable!"

"You got it," Jessica said as she locked in on the bone, "locked on! Tricera Fist!"

The MegaZord thrust out it's fist and hit the area where the missing bone was making Fossilador spark before exploding to which the Rangers cheered.

Dino Lab!

"So glad you back to normal Jessica," Ethan told her as the walked down the stairs to the Dino Lab. "You were pretty scary there for awhile."

"I'm so sorry, I was mean to you guys," Jessica apologized them.

"Don't worry about it seriously," Kira told her with a smile.

"Yeah," Conner agreed, "we're kinda of use to it."

This made Jessica looked at Conner with a raised eyebrow.

"See, that would be some of those things, you say from time to time," Ethan informed him.

"Oh, right," Conner agreed as he looked at Jessica, "sorry."

"I'm just glad that everything worked out," Jessica told them, "it's kinda of weird though."

"What's that?" Tommy asked as he turned to them.

"Anton Mercer," Kira answered for Jessica, "this thing was stored in his museum. Why?"

Conner, Ethan, and Tommy looked at each other while the two girls shared a look with one other.
