I feel so bad for taking this long to update...I understand if you guys hate me (I would probably hate me too) but I promise, it's not that I don't want to update, but it's just i'm really busy. This story never leaves my mind and I feel bad everytime I don't update... Also, this chapter was going to be longer but I decided to post it because I haven't updated in a while. The next chapter is going to be more interesting because that's the double date with Aradia/Equius and Nepeta/Karkat :) Enjoy!

Chapter Thirteen:

*Aradia's POV*

I stood outside Sollux's house chewing on my bottom lip and debating on whether I should knock on the door. My knees were shaking and my heart hammered against my chest. I don't know what was making me so nervous, but going over to Sollux's house while having agreed to go out with Equius made me anxious.

I lifted my fist to the door, ready to knock. But my fist ended up hovering over the wooden door. My breath got caught in my throat as my arm stayed in the same position. It was as if I had forgotten how to lower it.

After a couple of awkward minutes I lowered my arm down angrily and remembered that Sollux had a doorbell. I groaned and without thinking too much of it, I rang the doorbell. Right when I did, the door flew open. I gasped and jumped back a bit. Sollux was standing on the other side wearing a very amused looking smirk.

"Took you long enough."

"W-what?"

He rolled his eyes. "Now, you're thtarting to thound like Eridan."

"Uh-I-Uh…"

He smirked. "Come in."

He moved aside and let me walk into the familiar living room. He closed the door behind him as I set my backpack on the ground and plopped down on the couch. He turned to me and smiled.

"Tho, what do you got for me today?"

I sighed heavily. "Math." I answered a bit too harshly.

He sat down beside me.

"It can't be that bad. What are you doing in math?"

"Polynomials."

"Show me."

I sighed, pulled out my text book from my backpack and handed it to him.

I watched as he flipped to the chapter about Polynomials and started skimming through it.

After he was done, he looked up at me and said:

"AA, thith ith thome eathy shit."

"Maybe for you it is!" I snapped without meaning too.

He started laughing hysterically and stood up.

"Come on, let'th go thutdy on the dining room table."

I nodded and followed him to the dining room.

When we almost entered the dining room he abruptly stopped and spun around.

"Actually, let'th go thudy thomewhere elthe-"

He was suddenly cut off by an all too familiar voice.

"Aradia!"

I smiled and looked at Sollux who was rolling his eyes.

I sighed. "Why were you trying to keep me from your mom?" I whispered.

"She's crazy." He whispered back.

I rolled my eyes again as Sollux's mom came out of the dining room and hugged me.

"Hi, Aradia!"

I smiled and felt strangely at home.

"Hello, how are you?" I asked, hugging her back.

She smiled wider and pulled back.

"I'm good thanks for asking how are you?"

My smile suddenly fell.

In all honesty, I was anything but okay at that moment. My anxiety was off the charts and the one thing keeping me sane was my friendship circle not changing (well, except for Feferi).

I nervously rubbed the back of my neck and bounces on my heels.

"I'm...okay."

She eyed me curiously.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded a bit too quickly.

"Yes, I'm fine, I'm just having trouble with math is all," I chuckled nervously.

She gave me another look but then hugged me again.

"It's nice to see you again, it's been a while."

I nodded. "It has."

"Uh...Mom? I need to help AA with math now."

His mom quickly let go of me and smiled one last time.

"I'll see you later, have fun with math."

"No."

She laughed. "I'll be watching TV in the basement if you need me."

Sollux nodded. "Alright,"

She smiled and then disappeared downstairs to enjoy alone time in front of TV. Sollux then turned to look at me.

"Alright, let'th do thith shit."

I sighed. "Fine."

I followed him to the dining room table and took out my notebook and pencil. The first thirty minutes we actually studied. Which was surprising because usually when I ask for math help I never actually study (probably because I always ask the wrong person like Vriska...And she's terrible at math...).

"Okay AA, you have the equation three x timeth five x pluth four equalth nine. What would you do to tholve that?"

My eyes widened. "Uhhh..."

Sollux gave me an encouraging glace. "Come on, you know how to do thith. We jutht went over thith."

I sighed and stared deeply at the equation. "Umm, okay well first I would do three x plus five x and then that would equal eight x?"

He smiled at me and nodded for me to continue.

"So, the equation is now eight x plus four equals nine, and then I...uh... subtract 4 from both sides?"

Sollux smiled wider. "Yeth! Then what?!"

I suddenly felt a wave of confidence rush over me.
"The two fours cancel out and then nine minus four is five, then I divide both sides by 8. The two eights cancel out and X equals five over eight!"

"You got it!"

"Yes! I'm smart!" I shouted a bit too loud as Sollux gave me a high five.

He laughed.

"Well, you've worked hard enough, what do you thay we call it a day?"

I nodded in agreement. "Yes, please."

He smiled. "Want thomething to eat or drink?"

I shrugged. "I'm not really hungry so, can I have something to drink?"

"Yeah sure," He replied as he opened his refrigerator and took out a pitcher of lemonade.

I sighed and put my math stuff back in my backpack.

Sollux came up to me and set down a glass of lemonade in front of me.

"Thank you," I said and took a sip of it.

He sat down beside me with his own glass of lemonade.

"Tho," He began. "What'th new?"

I shrugged. "Nothing much really."

He nodded, almost suspiciously. "Really?"

I wrinkled my eyebrows in confusion and nodded. "Yes...Really...?"

He took a sip of his lemonade and cleared his throat. "Are you going out tomorrow?"

I almost spit the lemonade that I had in my mouth right out. I carefully swallowed it and set the glass down; coughing a little.

"Pardon?"

He raised his eyebrows. "Are you going out tomorrow?"

I felt my cheeks turn pink. "Like, out on a date...?"

He rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't be athking you if you were going out tomorrow to hang out with Vrithka...Yeth, I mean are you going out tomorrow on a date."

"Oh..." I chewed on my bottom lip nervously. "Yeah...I am."

His feet were glued on the ground and he nodded slowly.

"Where are you going out to?"

"Equius and I are going out on a double date with Nepeta and Karkat."

He smirked. "Took KK long enough."

I smiled. "Yeah I know right?"

He chuckled awkwardly and I just sat there looking at him, not sure of what to say. There was about a five minute awkward silence until Sollux decided to clear his throat.

"Tho, how did you get Karkat to agree to thith double date?"

I laughed nervously. "Haha funny story..."

*Flashback*

"Aradia, what the fuck was going through your somber depressed ridden head?! Nepeta and I cannot go on a double date with you and that sweaty bastard!"

I rolled my eyes. "Look Karkat, I know I shouldn't have done that without asking you, but could you please just play along? Please?"

He groaned. "Why should I?!"

Nepeta (who was standing beside him holding his hand) frowned.

"Aww, come on Karkitty! It'll be fun! Let's just help Aradia out okay?"

Karkat sighed frustratedly but rolled his eyes.

"Ugh! Alright fine! But you owe me big time Megido!"

"Yes! Thank you!" I shouted and hugged him.

"Get off of me!"

"Oh, sorry."

*End Flashback*

I chuckled nervously. "It's a funny story that I'll just have to save for later."

Sollux wrinkled his eyebrows but shrugged. "Alright, whatever floatth your boat."

I nodded slowly. "Yeah..."

I could sense another awkward silence coming on so I quickly opened my mouth to say something.

"So, how are you and Feferi?"

He looked a bit surprised that I would ask that question but obliged.

"We're doing alright I gueth."

"You guess?"

He nodded. "Yeah..."

I wrinkled my eyebrows. "Wanna expand on that?"

He shrugged. "It'th jutht alright. We don't really do much."

"Why not?" I asked without thinking too much of it.

He shrugged again. "I don't know, it'th actually kind of hard to do thingth. I mean, I try but we're like two totally different people...It'th harder to plan dateth."

"Then...Why'd you date her?"

He cringed. "Well...Becauthe I like her..." He answered, sounding unsure about what he had just said.

I nodded. "I hope you don't mind me asking but, when did you start liking her? I mean, before we were dating you had little contact with her and then when we were dating she was..." I suddenly paused, realizing what I was saying. My eyes widened and I looked at Sollux who had his full attention on the ground beneath us.

"Uhhh...Sollux I-"

He shook his head. "It'th fine."

"But I-"

I stopped mid-sentence when he looked back up at me and smiled. "You can finish that thententhe...I won't be mad."

I frowned and looked down. I awkwardly rubbed my arm and blushed deeply.

"She's the reason we broke up..." I finished silently.

I didn't look back up at him. I was too embarrassed. My face was burning up and it felt like my ears were on fire. How stupid could I be? Bringing up our break up! I shouldn't have made such a big deal out of it. Especially with Feferi, I mean, I should've seen it coming-

"AA?" Sollux asked pulling me out of my train of thoughts.

"Hmmm?" I asked without looking up.

"Look at me."

I shook my head.

"Aradia,"

I shook my head again.

I heard him sigh. I was expecting him to say something to me but instead, I felt him cup my cheek.

I gasped as he cupped my other cheek with his hand and brought my face up to look at him. His eyes locked into mine and it was almost as if time had stopped. It was as if the world around us had collapsed and we were the only two people on earth. All the drama, school work, and worthless bullshit disappeared.

He suddenly started leaning closer to me. Without thinking, I leaned in closer to me. He kept leaning in slowly and it wasn't long before our breaths were tickling our faces. I studied his eyes and lips carefully, remembering what it was like to press mine against his.

I put his hands on my shoulders and leaned in. Our lips were brushing against each other and just as he was about to close the few inches of distance between us, his mom burst in.

"Hey guys I'm about to start supper!"

Sollux and I quickly jumped away from each other. Both of our faces were completely red and we were looking everywhere but each other. I was thankful that when his mom busted into the room she was looking down at her cellphone; completely missing what had been going on...Speaking of which, what was going on?

"Aradia, are you staying for supper?" She asked looking up from her phone.

I looked up at her frightened but then cleared my throat.

"Oh! Uh...No, I don't think so. I should probably be heading home, Damara's probably wondering what's taking me so long..."

She frowned but nodded understandingly. "Alright, well thanks for coming, I hope you come again soon!"

I smiled at her and grabbed my backpack from the ground. "Thank you Mrs. Captor, I hope to see you soon."

She smiled. "Bye dear."

I got off my chair and started walking towards the exit. I didn't notice that Sollux was following me until we got to the door.

"I'll thee you later AA, thtop by anytime you need help with math."

I smiled at him shyly. "Thanks Sollux...For everything."

He smiled and pulled me into a hug. I was surprised at first but ended up hugging him back.

"I'll thee you at thchool." He whispered into my ear.

I hugged him tighter and nodded. "I'll see you."

He let go of me and smiled. I smiled back and then walked out of his house. I walked the rest of the way home, wrapped in my own thoughts.
