Heyyyy! So, I just watched POTC4 recently and starting fangirling all over the place when I saw Jack and Angelica….and now I'm going to see Into the Woods. I don't ThINk I cAN HanDlE MySeLF.
The slight rustling of clothes woke Angelica up. She squinted for a moment, then realized that Jack was no longer by her side. Rolling over, she saw Jack standing up, rummaging through her small bag.
"Jack?" She asked hoarsely, "What are you doing?" There was a long silence before Jack pulled out a thin, golden chain with a large circle on it. She stared at it blankly, then realized that it was the useless necklace that Hector Barbossa had given her. Jack looked up, resembling a wounded puppy. His eyes were watering.
"Where did you get this?" Jack's voice was trembling. He knew that she had gotten it from Barbossa, he just wanted to hear it from her. She didn't just receive the map. She received an agreement of his death. Angelica felt a lump form in her throat. Jack wasn't supposed to find out about the necklace. All he was supposed to know was that Barbossa had given her the map.
"I…I-" Angelica couldn't get the words to come out of her mouth. Her mouth was dry and her body was numb.
"Don't lie to me!" Jack said sharply, causing Angelica to jump. "I know where you got this." He threw her bag down onto the ground and paced around the room, clutching the necklace.
"I might have gotten it from Barbossa. The same time he gave me the map. It didn't mean anyth-"
"It didn't mean anything?!" Jack was raising his voice now, and although he appeared furious on the outside, he was crumbling on the inside.
"No!" Angelica cried back shrilly. She didn't want Jack to act like this. They were supposed to finish the quest together. "He was drunk. He had no idea what he was doing."
"Then I guess he had no idea that he gave you the map?" Jack shouted, stopping in his tracks. "I guess he had no idea that he was trying to kill me?" Angelica stood up and walked over to Jack, trying to calm him down. He evaded her reach.
"He didn't want to kill-" Angelica started.
"Then what was he doing when he gave you this bloody piece of jewelry?" Jack retorted. Angelica couldn't think of a way to lie out of this one. Her elusiveness could only get her so far.
"He knew I would bring you along. When I had gotten all three maps, he wanted me to return to him. He would know if I disobeyed, because of the necklace. I don't know how it works, but it's able to track the wearer. He wanted me to bring you to him, so he could finish you off himself!" Now that Angelica had gotten the words out, the truth came crashing down. She was a horrible person for wanting nothing more than to get Jack killed, while she bathed in riches. She tried to reverse the subject. "I wouldn't have wanted to kill you if you hadn't left me on that island!" Angelica was feeling weaker and more desperate for answers. Why had she agreed to Barbossa? She was on the verge of tears.
"Don't blame this on me," Jack said, calmly and tensely. He stared at the floor with an angry look.
"Why were you looking through my bag anyway?" Angelica asked. "I thought you trusted me." Her voice trailed off into a whisper. Jack whipped his head around to look at her.
"I sure as hell don't anymore," Jack spat back. "I was looking for the maps to plan our route, but I guess I won't be doing that now." Jack said, stating the obvious. Angelica was taken aback at his insult. Now she felt hot tears spill down her cheeks.
"Jack…you don't know what you're saying. Listen to yourself," She told him quietly. Jack grimaced in her direction.
"I know perfectly well what I'm saying, Angelica. You were willing to get me killed for your enjoyment! Don't deny it," he yelled loudly.
"Think of what you've done to me, Jack. Think of all the pain you've caused me. Wouldn't you think that I would be able to-to…to do something! You've abandoned me, you've lied to me, you've scared me, and you deceived me. All those things, and you are getting upset about this?"
"I'm not upset. I'm angry. No, I'm more than angry. The fact that you want to bring my past actions into this is sickening. Yes, I will admit I left you alone and broke your heart, but you. You wanted to get me killed!" Jack's blood was boiling, and the next words that he said came out faster than he meant them too. He didn't want it to come to this, but Angelica wasn't seeing reason, and she certainly wasn't going to apologize.
"I'm done," He said, burning holes in the walls with his eyes.
"What?" Angelica choked. She struggled to hold back tears. Jack took a shaky breath.
I don't want to say this…Jack thought. But his mouth ignored his head. "I don't want to accompany you anymore. I've learned my lesson and I'm sure you learned yours. Goodbye, Angelica," He turned to leave the room. Halfway there, he felt a tug at his arm. He turned around, facing a tear-stained Angelica.
"Jack..p-please don't do this. What am I going to do without you?" She cried silently. Jack shrugged like he really didn't care.
"I don't know. All I know is that you seem to want me out of your life. So we'll make a deal," Jack began. "I won't die, but I won't be by your side anymore." Angelica looked hurt.
"Will I see you again?" She asked hopefully. Jack shook his head quickly.
"No," he said firmly. He yanked his arm out of her grip and walked out.
"Jack!" Angelica yelled out. "Jack!" He kept walking, hearing her cries fade away with each step. This time she was calling his name with pleading and sadness. Before it was hatred and loathing. He walked down the hall until he couldn't hear a single thing.
Angelica burst into a fit of sobs. She held her head in her hands and walked slowly over to the bed. Kneeling beside it, she folded her head down. And cried.
Yoooooooo! 14th chapter DONE. So I hoped you liked it *plasters innocent grin on my face*. BEFORE YOU ASK ANY QUESTIONS the reason I made Jack leave (I'll explain more in depth in a few chapters) is because it was always Jack that was being yelled at. Now, for something big, Angelica gets a taste of her own medicine. JUST WANTED TO BE AN EVIL AUTHOR AND SEND A PLOT TWIST YOUR WAY
