Oh gosh, it's been a while hasn't it? I'm so sorry for the lack of update! It's been what, almost 5 months? OH MY GAWSH, I'm so sorry you guys! I've been neglecting my stories lately. Hard to find some motivation to keep on writing. But I'm back and I hope that this chapter will make it up to you!

I missed you all honestly :( After reading you latest reviews, I feel so bad cuz you guys are so dedicated to this story and I'm blown away by how much you love it. I'm grateful for each and every one of you! I love you guys so much!

I wanted to add some things like Merry Christmas, Happy New Year blah blah blah…Not that that's really important now cuz it's too late.
BUT…I was so happy that Klaroline kissed and *ahem* did it :P
Seriously, I was screaming and kept on screaming until my brother started hitting me -_-
But who cares, really? Klaroline was right happening in front of my eyes!

Okay, so enough updates and I'm just gonna shut up now. Hope you enjoy this chapter!

Chapter 14: The First Memories

After Klaus kissed Caroline goodnight, he went back to the Mikaelson mansion he shared with his siblings in Mystic Falls. He could barely contain the happiness that consumed his heart. The hybrid remembered the way he gently brushed his lips against hers. His love for he grew stronger every single day and even though Caroline forgot who he was, both she and Klaus could feel the love they poured into the kiss.

For so long, Klaus felt so alone and unloved by so many. The only thing that made everything bearable was the love his siblings gave him, but it was just a brother-sister love. It was no secret that Klaus yearned the love that he wanted from his parents, but none of his siblings expected him to also want the type of love from someone he wanted to spend an eternity with. Now that he has found her again, he is not gonna let her go anytime soon.

"Well, well, well." Kol simply smirked. "That's a look you don't see everyday."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"You have this glow around you that's clearly blinding the daylights out of me."

Klaus smirked at his brother. "You're lucky I'm in a good mood, brother. You wouldn't want to ruin that would you? We both know we don't want that."

"No, we wouldn't."

Kol smiled at his big brother. He felt happy for him and just for that moment, what the two felt was nothing but peace. Klaus returned his smile and the two chuckled lightly.

Klaus stopped first. His face shifted and all of a sudden he felt that a piece of his soul died. The pain was enough to bring him to his knees and he brought his hand upon his heart, almost felt like it was being torn into two. The feeling almost knocked the wind out of him and he instantly knew why. He roared and howled in pain.

"Niklaus!"

Kol was instantly by his side when he saw his brother in agony. He didn't know what to do during these rare times. He was always the cheeky one in the family. Never having to deal with such hardship was a very rare thing to Kol.

"Klaus!" He yelled.

"Caroline," he gasped. "Something has happened to her."

"What has happened?"

"I do not know. This feeling is…nothing I've ever felt from her before. Oh gods," Klaus looked at his brother with anger, and surprisingly, fear. "We must get to her."

The two brothers raced to Caroline's house using their vampire speed. Klaus's insides were trembling because the big bad hybrid had something he feared for. Someone harmed his beloved Caroline. His mate was out there and who knows if she could be miles away from town slipping through his fingers as the seconds go by.

The only evidence that appeared in front of Caroline's house was that front door was opened and the fallen thermos that spilled on her porch.

"Well this is strange," Kol said. "Do you think that she was abducted?"

"Not likely. If Caroline were to be abducted there would be signs of struggle. For example, they could've broken down her door and took her."

The thought gave Klaus a stormy gaze that appeared upon his expression.

"And if Caroline were to relax on her front porch she would've shut the door." Kol continued. "I see your point. But I do not understand the coffee that's been spilled upon the steps though. She could have been taken while she was out?"

Klaus's eyes flickered at him when he remembered a conversation he had with Caroline when they've spent time together.

"Caroline does not drink coffee. She drinks tea."

Kol bent down and dipped his fingers onto the coffee, tasting it.

"It tastes exactly like coffee, except…" he trailed off.

"Except what?"

"Niklaus," he turned to his brother with a troubled look on his face. "This coffee has blood in it."

Klaus took a sharp breath, his eyes blazing with realization. Fear was now setting into his heart making him tremble to the core.

"Do you think Caroline drank that coffee?" He hoped not.

"If she did then…"

"Then she would be a vampire now," Klaus continued, "and she will remember everything." Klaus exhaled loudly and pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes. He took out his cell waiting for Kol to take it. "Call him. He's an expert at dealing with baby vampires, and Caroline needs all the help he can get."

Kol took his cell phone. "You sure? If he comes then his brother comes along as well."

"I DON'T CARE IF HIS BROTHER IS COMING! This is Caroline we're talking about! She matters more to me than any bastard we're crossed with!"

Kol looked at his brother for a while longer then dialed the number. After a few rings, someone answered his call.

"Klaus?"

"Ah, Stefan. Been a long time old friend."

"Kol? What are you doing with Klaus's phone? Where's your brother?"

"It's a long story. How about you come down to Mystic Falls and we'll explain everything."

When Caroline woke up, she noticed that she was no longer on the front steps of her home, but in a farmhouse with steel bars caging her in.

"What the hell?" She sat up and winced from the pain of her sore neck. "What's going on?"

She stood on her feet and wiggled the bars to see if she could break free when suddenly a flash of memory went through her mind. She gasped and was brought down to her hands and knees. Her first flash of memory was how she and Klaus first met in the woods. She exactly remembered her parents screaming at each other until she couldn't stand it anymore. Little Caroline locked the door of her room and snuck out from her window. She remembered that she needed to run away from the pain. The emotion she felt was as fresh as an open wound in her heart.

Then she heard a voice. His voice. She saw Klaus who looked like he hadn't aged a bit. She saw that he was comforting her and that everything was not her fault. She then somehow ended up in her room saying goodnight to him. How is that possible?

"I see you're awake."

Caroline opened her eyes and saw who her captor was. The woman looked a lot like her best friend, except her hair was curled and that her outfit was almost everything leather.

"Elena?"

"Hmm, not exactly." She smirked. "You see, my name is Katherine, and Elena is actually my doppleganger."

Caroline's eyebrows drew together in confusion. "What do you mean? What do you want with me?"

"It's simple really. You're someone who's very special to an enemy of mine–well, everyone's, really."

"Who? I'm not special to anyone."

"Oh no? I probably would have agreed with you, but that's not entirely true. You've heard of Klaus, the biggest and badass vampire-werewolf hybrid out there."

Caroline reacted to his name, but was once again confused when Katherine mentioned him being a hybrid.

She gasped when another memory flashed into her mind. She saw Klaus with yellow-rimmed eyes, surrounding it with the color of his blood. Whenever he'd expose his mouth, she saw his sharp fangs, but Caroline was strangely calm about it. Like she wasn't afraid of him at all.

"Ah yes, the memories are starting to return I take it?"

"Memories?"

"Don't worry, it will call come back to you eventually." Katherine said while checking her nails. Then she turned her attention back to Caroline. "But it's much faster after we put some blood in you."

"Excuse me? I think I've had enough blood in my–HEY! What are you doing!?"

Katherine went in the jail cell and held Caroline down with force. Caroline tried to fight back, but the vampire sat on her torso and managed to cage her arms using her legs. Katherine took a small bottle out from her leather jacket and opened the top of it.

"Drink up."

"No, please no." Caroline begged.

"Shut up!" Katherine demanded. She forced open Caroline's mouth, pouring the red liquid down her throat then quickly shut it until Caroline swallowed it all.

Once Katherine got off, Caroline immediately stood on her feet and was feeling all kinds of fury except she was no longer human. Her eyes went red and bared her fangs at her captor.

"I said I didn't want to drink anymore blood!"

Katherine once again smirked. "Trust me, baby vampire. You're going need a lot more than you think."

Caroline was no longer the miserable girl who felt like it was just her and her alone. She was no longer the happy little girl everyone knew about. Even though she was once happy at some point, she was no longer human. No, Caroline Forbes was now a vampire.

So what do you guys think? I'm sorry it's not longer like my other chapters, but it was so hard to find the right kind of moments when continuing on with the writing.
