Third Person POV:

"I admire your courage, but you should know it was all wasted. The second I press this button, you get to watch all of your friends die." Percy said as he walked slowly towards where Annabeth sat, tied to a chair.

"Percy please! This isn't you! Johan is controlling you! The people in that room, they are your friends too!" Annabeth pleaded with Percy but he refused to listen.

"I have no idea how you know my name, but I don't know who you are, or those people in there. I'm sorry but I have to do this." Percy said harshly as his index finger moved towards the big red button on the control panel. "Do you have any last words?"

"Yes I do actually."

Three hours earlier...

Everything was a blur. There were bodies everywhere. The sounds of hundreds of guns going off at once pierced through the air waves. "Get to cover! Quickly!" Clint yelled over the roar of the guns as he, Natasha, Bruce (in human form), Thor and Nico dashed towards a deserted building by Queens Bridge.

The plane had just dropped Clint, Natasha, Bruce, Jason, Thor and Nico off at Queens bridge and already things weren't going well. The enemy soldiers had spotted them almost instantly and had started firing at them.

"What's the plan?" Nico asked as they huddled together in the shelter of the building's lobby.

Everyone shared a look, all of them where thinking of different battle strategies but they didn't have enough time to figure out which one was the best.

Jason decided that they needed to figure out a plan so he offered his up. "Leo gave me some Greek fire so we can use that and cause a distraction. Nico, can you conjure up as many Skelton soldiers as possible?" Jason asked and Nico nodded his head and shut his eyes. Instantly cracks appeared in the ground by his feet and skeleton hands started clawing their way up to the surface. "Clint, Natasha, how about you guys get to the roof of this building and pick of the soldiers using your guns and bow? You can keep in touch with us by using the ear pieces Leo gave us." Jason said as Clint and Natasha nodded and started running towards the stairs. "Bruce, can you protect Nico? He will still be able to fight but just not as well because the skeleton army will take up a lot of his strength." Bruce nodded and instantly he started to turn into 'the other guy.' A.K.A The Hulk. Jason turned to Thor. "That just leaves you and I. We will be fighting alongside Bruce and Nico. I will try to conjure up a thunder storm to help." As Jason finished talking the doors burst open revealing the enemy army.

"Let's get this show on the road."

Natasha and Clint scaled the stairs going three at a time. Finally, after running up twelve flights of stairs, Clint and Natasha were on the roof. Cling had his bow and an arrow on the string, ready to shoot anyone who came close to the building. Natasha had traded her hand gun for the machine gun she had strapped to her back. "You ready?" Natasha asked Clint as she got into position.

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be." After Clint said that, the two didn't have the chance to continue their conversation because the enemy army had started advancing towards the building they were standing on the roof of.

Arrow after arrow, bullet after bullet, no matter how many soldiers the two managed to take down, two more seemed to take their place. "How many are there?" Natasha asked as she saw her team mates emerge from the building. Each if them were fighting the enemy in their own special way, Natasha noticed. Bruce (or the hulk) was smashing the soldiers underneath his feat. Nico was using a his sword and slicing through the soldiers as if they were made out if water. Jason, Natasha noticed was fighting like Nico, but he was also electrocuting people, using the thunderstorm that had gathered above them to his advantage. Thor was using his hammer to knock his opponents out of the way, smashing them into the surrounding buildings.

Even though they were outnumbered, Natasha thought that maybe, just maybe, they might be able to win this thing.

After an hour and a half of battle, The Avengers thought that they were making progress. The enemy soldiers had started retreating back towards the bridge, followed closely by The Avengers. Natasha and Clint had climbed down from the roof a while ago and were both now fighting hand-to-hand against the soldiers. Clint had run out of arrows for his bow and Natasha had run out of bullets for her gun.

"Now Jason!" Nico yelled from his position, standing beside the bridge. Jason heard Nico and he put all of his remaining strength into a final bolt of lightning. He aimed it towards the entrance to the bridge where Nico had spread the last of the Greek fire. As Jason's bolt of lightning struck the green substance, there was an explosion. The bridge crumpled into the river, taking the remaining soldiers with it.

"I'm glad that's over." Jason verbally expressed the thought that everyone was thinking.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted." Nico agreed, making the last of the skeleton warriors disappear.

"Yeah well we better get to Stark tower. I wonder how they're holding up." Natasha said as she and Clint started collecting any arrows they could find that were still in good condition.

"I'll talk to them now through the ear piece." Jason said as he switched on the communicating device. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

"Jason? This is Valdez. Things over here are bad. There are thousands of them and Percy is still on their side. Annabeth is trying to get him to snap out of it but it's not working." Leo informed Jason as he tried to fight off two HYDRA soldiers.

"Okay, don't worry. We'll be there soon." Jason told Leo as he gathered the others and started heading towards Stark tower.

"Great. Straight into another battle." Nico mumbled under his breath, but everyone could hear him and everyone silently agreed with him.

"Leo! Pass me that vial of green stuff!" Tony yelled towards the Latino boy who was across the room.

"You mean the Greek fire?" Leo yelled back to Tony as he kneed a soldier in the balls.

"Does it seriously matter at the moment?"

"Nope," Leo yelled back and threw the Greek fire over to Tony. Tony caught it and threw it towards the group of soldiers that were standing in the doorway of the elevators. As the vial landed Tony shot a bullet towards it from his suit and watched as the Greek fire acted like a bomb. It's safe to say that Tony is going to be spending a lot of money to try and clean up the mess the soldiers have made of his home.

Apart from Leo and Tony arguing about the proper name for Greek fire, there wasn't much conversation going on. Annabeth was busy trying to persuade Percy that she was his fiancée whilst fighting Abigail and Steve was fighting ten soldiers at once.

The HYDRA soldiers had managed to get the Avengers all in Tony's apartment. They had been fighting for an hour and forty five minutes before Jason, Clint, Natasha, Bruce and Nico barged through the door that lead into the lounge room from the kitchen.

"Hey, sorry. We came as soon as we could." Jason said as he started slicing through the remaining soldiers. Even though all of the Avengers were now fighting, the HYDRA soldiers still had the upper hand. There were roughly ten soldiers to every Avenger.

Half an hour before:

"There's nothing you can do Annabeth. You're dead either way." Abigail called out to Annabeth as she stood on the edge of the roof. "You can jump and die or you can come with us." Abigail tried to persuade Annabeth.

Hesitantly Annabeth stepped forward. Toward Abigail and Percy. Annabeth was the last Avenger standing. The HYDRA soldiers had released poisonous gas throughout Stark tower that had knocked everyone else out. That was how Annabeth, Percy and Abigail had found themselves on the roof. "There we go, come on." Abigail said as Annabeth slowly walked over to where she stood. Abigail nodded to Percy and he stepped forward to where Annabeth now stood. Percy clasped a rag over Annabeth's mouth and slowly, Annabeth felt herself losing consciousness for the second time that day.

Annabeth awoke from being unconscious to find herself tied to a chair in a dark room. She looked around and saw a window that showed what was happening in the next room over. She saw her friends and the Avengers tied to chairs, just like her. Apart from the window type thing, the room was pretty empty, except for the raven haired boy that was staring at her intently.

It was a minute until either of them spoke but when the boy did he didn't give Annabeth any good news.

"Yes I do actually. You drool in your sleep." Annabeth said, starring directly into Percy's eyes. After everything Percy an Annabeth had been through, Annabeth couldn't think of anything else to say. She was done trying to convince Percy that she was his fiancée. She just wanted to die already. She would rather die than live in a world where Percy, the love of her life, didn't remember her. However, it was as if Annabeth's words had some kind of magical effect on Percy. Slowly, Annabeth noticed that the cloudy blue colour that had taken over Percy's normal sea green eyes, parted like clouds on a sunny day. It took a few seconds but at the end of the transformation, Annabeth found heralded staring into the sea green eyes of the boy she loves.

"Annabeth? What's going on? Where are we?" Percy asked in confusion. He didn't remember anything that had happened since he had been under control of Johan.

Annabeth let out a few tears of joy and relief. She and her friends weren't going to die. "I can explain how we got here later but for now can you please untie the ropes on my ankles and hands?" Annabeth asked and Percy rushed over to where she was tied up and started untying her.

"Oh my gods Percy, I thought you were gone!" Annabeth continued to cry as Percy hugged her tight.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm here forever." Percy said as he lent towards Annabeth and passionately kissed her.

"Well, well, well. Isn't this cute?" A snarky voice with a German accent remarked as the door to the control room opened, revealing Johan Schmidt.

Suddenly Percy let go of Annabeth and turned to face Johan. He may not remember anything he did whilst he was being controlled, but Percy remembered his voice. He was the one that had been controlling him. "You! You controlled me! Who even are you?" Percy demanded.

Johan let out a little laugh. "Me? I am your worst nightmare boy."

"I highly doubt that." Percy yelled as he lunged forward and slashed 'Riptide' in an arch directed straight at Johan's neck.

Johan dodged the attack and pulled out his pistol. He aimed it at Percy immediately froze. "It's a shame that I have to kill you now. You would have been a good commander for my army but oh well. Say goodbye Jackson." Johan's finger hovered over the trigger for a second. A second wasn't long enough for Percy to do anything but luckily it was long enough for Annabeth. As Percy and Johan had been fighting, neither of them had noticed Annabeth slip around the room so she was now standing behind Johan.

"Goodbye." Annabeth sassily said as she jumped onto Johan's back and slit his throat. Johan Schmidt was no more.

For a couple of seconds neither Percy nor Annabeth did anything. They just stood, side by side, and watched the blood from Johan's neck trickle down his front and onto the floor. Soon there was a pool of scarlet blood seeping into the grey carpet.

"Come on. Let's get our friends out of there." Percy said as he took Annabeth's hand and they walked out of the control room and towards the door that led into the torture chamber the other Avengers were being held in. Together the pair opened the door to the room and released their friends.

AN: Hey guys! I hope you liked the chapter! Unfortunately, this is the second last chapter of this book, but I will be making an epilogue. I'm sorry about the awful fighting scenes… I really, really, really suck at those… Haha…
