THREE YEARS LATER
Hailey Potter was insanely bored. It was near the end of the summer, and she had never been more utterly bored.
Her friends wrote to her of course, and in a typically Sumner, one of them would have rescued her by now.
But, with the World Cup, and the Birds taking a pre-seventh year trip to France, no one could take her away.
Hell, at this point she would welcome Ronald Weasley with open arms.
Then there was the issue that was Luke. He hadn't answered an IM in nearly a week. This was highly unusual, and very disconcerning to Hailey. Occasionally she would get a glimpse of something before the feed shut down.
She wasn't at all annoyed. She was only worried.
"GIRL!"
It was Uncle Vernon. He was the only person who dared adress her in such a manner and, it pissed Hailey off.
She would never ever show how angry it made her, that would only add fuel to the fire.
Slowly exiting her room, Hailey walked down the stairs with grace and purpose. While she was at Hogwarts, Hailey had perfecyed the art of making people uncomfortable without using words. It was all about appearance, and she was quite the actress.
"What has caused you to summon me, dear Uncle?"
Her uncle glared, as though trying to decide weather or not she was mocking him.
"Some boy at the door for you." He grunted, having obviously decided it was not worth the effort to yell at her for a me sarcastic word.
Hailey's heart leapt into her throat.
It couldn't possibly be...
"Hails?"
It was.
Hailey could scarcely believe her own eyes.
Standing in front of her, blond hair mused, eyes happy, yet troubled, smiling at her was Luke Castellan.
She walked in awe, drinking the sight of him in.
"Luke."
She breathed his name, just as he'd breathed her's seconds ago. Her uncle stood, watching in confusion.
And the spellbroke, and they rushed at each other like animals.
Hailey was punching his chest, screaming into his shirt.
Luke was holding her, telling her how much he missed her, how long he'd waited to finally be able to hug her.
"And I've waited almost as long, to do this."
Hailey pulls away from him for a single second, before she stands on her tiptoes, and kisses him.
It's a tiny, hesitant kiss, which Luke returns just as gently.
Pulling away, they both smile, she takes his hand, and they leave the house, because in spite of what they have just dine to themselves, they need to talk.
They are in a park. Luke sits on a swing, Hailey sits on his lap.
"I screwed up."
Luke is explaining why he is there. She is listening, quiet and thoughtful, kissing him whenever he gets particularly upset about whatever he has done.
"I was so angry, and my dreams offered a solution, and, I took it. I regeted it so much when I did it, and even more now. Hailey I could have killed a kid. A kid. He trusted me. And I almost killed him. Gods, I'm a monster."
Hailey frowns, her brow creasing.
"You are not a monster. No one is a monster unless they desire to become one. Voldermort was a monster. desired to be feared, and to be greater anyone else. Hitler was a monster, craving power, and filling people with hate. In a way Hitler was like Kronos. He took your dismay, and sadness at the way the gods treat their kids I to anger, and used it to manipulate you."
He looks at her, shaking his head. He begins to say something, most likely protest, put more reasons why he should be allowed into society ever again, but she cuts him off by kissing him.
"Luke don't. Please don't do this to yourself. It's painful to watch."
Henods, before returning her kissing.
"EWWW! MOMMY, people are KISSING!"
The voice of a child startles the pair, and Hailey begins to laugh.
The little boy staring in utmost horror at them looks so disgusted and shocked at them it's comedic value is worth more than any comedian.
Shaking his head, Luke stands, bringing Hailey with him, and says only a single sentence to the boy.
"I hope I can kiss her for the rest of my life."
A/N: GUYS IT'S TOUGH AS NAILS SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY!
I'm reallyexcited, can't you tell?
Its a short chapter, but I have no doubt that y'all will be very happy with it.
So, also, uh, guys, I kinda love my siblings sometimes.
Tonight we watched Mrs. Doubtfire, with Robin Williams, God rest his soul, and before we started, my youngest sibling goes "Mom, can we watch something gangster, like Treehouse Builders?"
And I died. Figuratively, of course, because I couldn't abandon you all on the eve of our anniversary.
Disclaimer: I OWN plot lines, and other things in this story, however, nothing that is JK's or Rick's is mine.
Feel free to send me any questions you have!
Love you all!
