Chapter 14
BPOV
The past few days have been the hardest I've ever had to deal with. Edward and I were so new and we had already had a major blow out and it was difficult to work on our unit so we could connect with this wedding.
Bree arrived with her boyfriend Diego an Investment Banker. I was thankful that he was here as a distraction to the chaos. Angela's parents were here as well and they came with a unique set of problems as well. Laurent got his intelligence through genetics his father was astute as he was so Angela intentionally kept them away from the house and busy.
Laurent was busy placating Irina as she refused to leave with her family. Her parents had balked at leaving her with the Cullen's or more specifically Laurent. I couldn't understand a word being spoken but it was very heated and at one point Angela had joined the screaming match. Obviously they had spoken negative words about her brother.
In the end Irina stayed and I was beginning to wonder how Laurent was compartmentalizing all of this because he didn't look so happy all of a sudden.
During the argument I noticed a strawberry blonde eyeing Edward and I. Her eyes kept going from us to Rosalie who was sulking as usual. At one point I turned and looked right in her eyes as I caught her staring again. I knew my eyes locked on hers and she looked shocked that I would challenge her in such a manner. I raised my eyebrow at her and she looked away but not before I saw the answering challenge in her own eyes. I smirked try me bitch I thought.
On top of world war III nearly erupting in Angela's living room, Bree was constantly asking questions about why Angela wasn't having the wedding she had been planning for as long as she had the ability to talk. The wedding was as private as Angela could manage. Bree knew that Angela wanted a fairytale extravaganza and this affair while elegant was nothing like our friend had always desired.
Angela placated her by simply saying that those were childish dreams and she was a grown woman her taste changed with her maturity
Rosalie had actually made it back this morning to attend the wedding and was working my last nerve. I felt as if she was only here to put a damper on Ben and Angela's day. I made a mental note to keep an eye on her something told me she was up to no good.
She was visibly shocked when Edward and I had returned the next morning together in every sense of the word. Edward was an idiot for what he tried to do but he was my idiot.
Esme had beamed a big smile at me when she saw that Edward and I were still a couple. Jasper had a slight frown on his face that he quickly covered and Carlisle raised his eyebrow at our joined hands. Well I guess that answers the question as to who was against our union. I wasn't really surprised. Jasper struck me as overbearing and cold on a good day and I hadn't really gotten to know Carlisle at all.
Alice greeted me with a small smile and a nod her eyes holding a secret. Something about the small girl made me like her I made a note to get to know her better. She was also the only one here truly related to Edward and therefore important.
In that moment she turned towards me and said "Tuesday 12:00 let's meet at Osakas".
I rolled my eyes and grinned and responded "I'm going to tell you just like I told Edward that will get old really fast."
She simply chuckled before joining her husband on the couch.
Currently Angela, Bree, Alice, Mrs. Webber, Esme and I were getting our hair coiffed and our faces done by hairstylist and a makeup artist. Alice was a member of the small bridal party as well for appearances but I really think Angela liked the girl. She was the only one who was on their side in the beginning and Angela would always remember that, my friend was loyal to a fault.
"Angela I'm so happy for you dear and our Ben couldn't have picked a better woman to marry. Welcome to the family dear." Esme's eyes were sincere as she spoke the words.
"Thank you Esme, that means so much." Angela replied honestly.
"My baby is getting married" Mrs Webber voice cracked as she looked at her look alike daughter, her eyes watering up. "I can't believe you're getting married before your brother." She laughed as she fanned her eyes.
Angela scoffed "Uh I can, you have met your son right." Angela said causing the rest of us to laugh.
"Angela you and Ben are like Yin and yang seriously, I was so envious at what you had with him." I said. "You and he are the real reason why I didn't try to date a lot in college. I wanted someone to look at me like Ben looks at you, every girl deserves that."
Angela's eyes begin to water "Oh Bella now you have it. You and Edward may have some things you need to work out but he loves you Bella never doubt that. Remember Ben and I in the beginning we both had moments in which we considered ending our relationship. But we fought for us and we are stronger because of it." I nodded knowing what she was saying. Angela was the only one who knew exactly what Edward tried to do and had talked to me a lot about in the last two days.
Just then Renee came through the door and my heart lurched I hadn't seen her in a while and I missed her so much when we were separated…she was my mom. In the beginning I had balked at giving her such a title, but time and maturity had taught me that just because she was my mom now didn't mean I had to forget my real mom.
"Hey sweetie" she crooned as I engulfed her in a hug much to the hairdressers annoyance.
"Hey mom, I've missed you." I pulled back to see her eyes filled with the same tears that came every time I called her mom.
Turning to Angela, Renee squealed like a school girl and began to clap her hands. "You're getting married Coco." Angela grinned at the nickname Renee had dubbed her with as a child. Angela got up and pulled her in a hug. "Hey Nene I've missed you and your crazy self." The two of the had always had a great relationship as Renee had taught her things that most mothers taught their girls but Mrs. Webber had missed doing with her busy career. Mrs. Webber loved Angela but some things had slipped through the cracks and Renee had happily filled the small voids left.
Renee greeted Angela's mother warmly "Claire it's good to see you." Although the women were not close friends they both respected one another for the things they each had done for Angela and I respectively.
After sipping champagne and enduring hair and makeup while we reminisced time slipped by and soon it was time for us all to head to the venue so we could get dressed. Angela had a large bridal room with a bridal party suite as she wanted all of us to get ready together.
The limo delivered us to the venue a beautiful bed and breakfast located on a small lake with acres of surrounding land, it was utterly gorgeous. As we exited the limo we were ushered to the bridal suite. The room was gorgeous and it had an adjourning room where all of our dresses hung on the wall. It gave Angela her own space and we were still together all at the same time.
She, her mother, and Esme went into the bridal suite as the rest of us begin to pull our dresses from the garment bags. The three dresses were different variations of the same style. They were all calf length and form fitting. My dress was strapless, Bree's had one shoulder strap, and Alice's was tank style. They were a thin satin with a crystal broach on a ribbon at the waist. The black color was different but gave it an elegance, it also ensured that we could wear them again.
After making sure that we were all dressed and zipped up we knocked on Angela's door and when we entered she took my breath away.
Angela's dress was complete lace up top and form fitting. The top was like a tshirt with the sleeves cut off but form fitting, at the neck it had a collar that stood up like a jacket collar if flipped up. The front was low cut and the back had a key hole in it. The lace went down to her knees mermaid style then a satin skirt flared out bustle style with crystals in the bustling. It was beautiful, unique and eye catching, everything my best friend was.
Her thick hair was pulled up high in lose curls and she had hair pins with crystals on the end all in her hair. At the back of her head was a large clip covered in crystal shaped like a leaf. She opted for no veil and the effect was amazing.
"Oh Angela" my voice caught and I felt my eyes water up.
"No, no, no! Please don't cry because if you do I will and I don't need this make up job ruined." She exclaimed fanning her beautiful face.
Her father picked that moment to walk in and he simply stared at his daughter in awe before speaking "I never thought I would see a bride that was more beautiful than your mother but sweetheart you look…" He choked up at the end knowing he was giving away his little girl today. "Ladies we are about to start go and take you places." He looked at Angela "Let's go and get you married."
As Bree, Alice and I lined up to walk out I heard a large commotion upstairs.
